Misuki slowly ate away at her noodles noting that Deil seemed to be fairly slow in finishing his as well, 'I wonder if he's really alright or if he's faking it? If only I was strong enough to learn some of the more high leveled medical jutsus, then this wouldn't be a problem.' Misuki was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Deil ask her about her training. Turning to face him, Misuki smiled and nodded, "Yep, I pretty much learned all the ones on my priority list. Thought there was this one genjutsu I wanted to learn for the exam, I think it'll have to wait, since I believe the exams will be starting soon. At long as I was able to master the genjutsu kai, I'm content, since my main worry was getting caught in a genjutsu with no way out. How about you? Anything else you wanted to work on? If you like, I have a scroll containing all the basic level fuuton jutsus," Misuki mentioned after suddenly remembering that she has yet to remove that scroll from her scroll holester. Reaching into her scroll holester, Misuki took out the basic level fuuton scroll and offered it to Deil, "here."

Deil ate as he listened, and quickly swallowed when it was his turn to talk. "Well, it would have been nice to learn some wind ninjutsu, but at this point I don't see me having the time to." He looked over at all of the deep gouges in the sand and the utterly destroyed dummies laying alongside the fragments of rock from the boulder. "But, with as much as I can do with taijutsu, I think I have more than compensated for it. Don't you?" He gave a short chuckle. "Just keep the scroll for now, I have no use for it until after the exams. Thank you though." He then began eating again. After a couple bites, he asked, "So, what is your combat strategy going to be? Obviously, you can defend yourself and use some genjutsu, but how do you plan on winning in a 1 on 1 battle?" Deil had never really though about how Misuki planned on winning a solo battle before, but now it seemed a prevalent curiosity.

At Deil's question, Misuki looked up and tabbed the tip of her chopsticks against her lips in thought, "Well, I actually haven't thought so deep into it yet but I think my main plan is to use various jutsus to create different openings so that I can attack undetected. Like for example, I have this one clan jutsu that's call dead silence, it causes opponents within a certain area to not hear any sound for awhile so I can use that time to my advantage and hopefully sneak in a few hits. You?"

"Well, as you can see, my style is nowhere near subtle. I think that I'll just stick to laying down heavy blows and swift kicks with my moves that do not need the 8 gates to be open. I would hate to use any of my inner gates moves early in the game. If they use scenery as part of their strategy though, I'm gonna have some problems. Well, for a little while, at least." He grinned a little, trying to imagine himself tearing up the landscape even worse than he did here. He took another draft of the juice, and then attempted to stand up. He managed to get up, albeit with some screaming from his legs, and he stood there for a moment breathing deeply the dry air. "We should go ahead and pack up when we finish eating so we can get back to the village before nightfall."

Misuki listened intently to what Deil said and nodded in agreement, "It's always a good idea to use your surroundings to your best advantage and I agree, best keep the 8 gates as a trump card or something." She watched as Deil got up and proceeded to do the same, "Sounds good, would you be okay with packing away the tents while I go clean up the cooking area and utensils?"
PostPosted: Tue Feb 02, 2010 4:41 am

"That sounds like a plan to me. We'll just leave all of the debris here for the sands to cover. It poses no threat. Since you cooked, we'll take this cooking gear back to my place and I will wash it. In the meantime, just wrap it all inside this blanket. I'll was it later." After picking up his chains and bringing them over to his bag, he pulled out a medium size sheet from his tent and laid it on the ground beside him. He then proceeded to pack up the tents.

Misuki nodded before walking over and taking the blanket with her as she began packing away all the stuff. She first blew out the fire and left the wired stand to cool down. She then began packing gathering all the used untensil and placing them on the blanket. Sure that she packed everything, she finally refolded the wired stand and threw it with the bunch. Misuki carefully wrapped everything up before stuffing it into one of the equipment bags. Looking over at Deil and seeing that he already had the tents packed, Misuki grabbed one of the equipment bags and wore it. 'Man, how did he handle carring two of these including a tent?' Ignoring the weight, Misuki also picked up her travel bag and held it in her hands and waited for Deil to do the same so that they could leave.

Once the two of them were ready, Misuki changed the beat on her sound device to something more upbeat before starting on the long walk back to the gates.

As soon as Deil had the bags packed and Misuki had her bag on her shoulder, he put the tents and the other bag on his shoulders after packing his weights in his bag. He set a slower pace than the one they came here at, because of how much his legs still hurt. She sun was just past midday, and Deil was sweating as soon as the journey started.

Deil and Misuki arrived at the camp after a couple hours of walking. There were still a few hours of daylight left, but Deil decided that he should go ahead and get started. He lay the packs on the ground. He started assembling the tents, and asked, "So, what do you think about all this?" It was a clumsy attempt to get things going, but there really wasn't a good way to ask.

Just as the two of you arrived at camp and began setting up, you feel a rumble in the earth as if an earthquake just struck. After only a few seocnds however, the earth stopped rumbling as Cobra suddenly popped up out of the ground as if he was shot out of a canon from under the desert sand, landing elegantly as he smiled at both of you. "Wooohooo...that was a trip! Do you two have any idea how hard it was to locate you guys? Off on an early private congratulations together already huh? Sounds kinky, even if it is presumptuous. However, I suppose it's fine considering the news... Congratulations! You've both PASSED! You may now call yourself Chuunin!"

Reaching into both of his sleeves with opposite arms, Cobra produced two scrolls from his robe and tossed them to Misuki and Deil. "Those are your official notices, and it contains all the details of the test and how each puzzle could have been solved. Both of you did a superb job in the exam though... you should both be very proud of yourselves. Misuki was actually our High Scorer for all of the exam section combined. Quite impressive! But anyways, I have overstayed my welcome. Don't want to become a third wheel and all, ya know? You two kids have fun!... don't do anything I wouldn't do!" with those parting words, Cobra jumped up in the air and then seemed to fall throguh the ground, falling into the desert earth as if it were a pool of water as he vanished from sight completely, leaving no trace of his exit or entry in the ground.

Deil caught the scroll, and stopped his work to look at it. He should be excited about becoming a chuunin, but at the moment he just couldn't get excited about it. Maybe Later. He put the scroll in his backpack, and resumed constructing the first tent. He waited in silence for Misuki's response.

Misuki ented the camp area quickly behind Deil, mind entirely focused on sorting through the new set of information she just learned awhile ago at the library. She felt bad about the silence but at the moment, Misuki was still a bit too disturbed by what she read to speak normally so she stuck to staying silent.

Misuki woke up from her thoughts when she heard Deil ask her a question and turned her head to see him assembling the tents. Setting aside her travel bag, Misuki decided to start on preparing the fire. As she laid out the equipment in front of her, Misuki took in several deep breaths as she prepared to explain to Deil her feelings on the matter. Just as she was about to speak, Misuki suddenly felt a rumble in the earth and was surprised when it suddenly stopped and out popped Cobra congratulating them on passing before disappering. At the moment, Misuki was still too preoccupied with her thoughts to properly take in all that Cobra had to say.

Tucking the scroll away in her holester, Misuki continued to start the fire. As she began attempting to light the match, Misuki suddenly let out a small giggle before turning serious again, "You know, I don't even know why we're acting so serious over the matter...I mean...why should the children have to suffer for the sins of their parents and besides...if anyone is to be blamed, it should the rich, greedy aristrcrat who feared our clans and wanted us killed..." By this time the light was lit and Misuki effortlessly threw it into the batch of twigs and moss to start the fire. Tucking in her knees in close to her chest, Misuki placed her arms onto and lean her head on top of them as she stared at the burning flame. "Besides...I already lost my family, so how could I possibly allow myself to lose the only person left in my life who I could fully trust with my life over some stupid words written in a book that holds no solid proof as well as having nothing to do with us. What's written there has to do with our clan, not us so...yeah...I...I don't care about what's written in that book okay? It's not going to affect how I feel about you so don't feel too bad okay?" Turning her head to the side, Misuki flashed Deil a small smile.

Deil paused what he was doing, and looked at the resolve on Misuki's face as she tried to dust off what happened like it was of no consequence. He went back to assembling the tent. It was true, what could they do to undo the past, and how could they even prove that what was written in that book is real? But, there has to be some credit in the book. I mean, what if my clan is destined to be bloodthirsty? There are times when the want to kill rises up, even during an exam fight. Sometimes I wonder what it would have been like to finish the act and feel the crunch of his throat between my fingers...GAH, STOP! I would never do that to Misuki, and only to an enemy if necessary. And if anything was to be gained from this, Deil could see one thing.
He cleared his throat, and looked over to see Misuki smiling. "Well, that book may have been a blessing in disguise after all." He had finished the first tent, and went over to sit next to Misuki. "You said before that you are scared, because you couldn't figure out why your parents were murdered. Well, now you have someone to blame. If you choose to blame my family, then I'm fine with that, since they did the deed out of blood lust. Do you think that now, since you know why and how they died, that you might be able to find peace?" He was glad that she did not blame him, but she was still not addressing the issue directly. Even so, he was glad to be able to sit next to her and share the warmth of each other and the fire she had made. He looked at her, occasionally glancing at the fire when something popped or crackled.

[Oh, don't forget to change your posting format to Chuunin, because it still says genin smile ]

Misuki gave a small nod in response before returning her attention to the blazing fire. "I guess you could say I found closer...though not in the way I expected to...it's still a bit hard to accept that both our clans were destroyed by the stupid decision of one person but time heals the wounds of the heart right? So for now, I just want to focus on the future...becoming a more skilled medic nin and a master of our clan jutsus." Turning to face Deil once more, Misuki gave him a happy smile, "And you? How are you handling everything?"

Deil was glad that she had been able to get rid of the ghosts of the past. "Well, that's good to hear. To be honest, I'm actually fine with this. I always knew my clan liked to fight, but to that extent is a little unsettling." He paused, and thought about what he had promised himself earlier. She's over it now, so I shouldn't feel bad if things take a more intimate turn in our relationship. She trusts me no matter what, and I her. And I know we find each other...attractive to be frank. But, I don't know just how to get around to expressing myself. I guess I'll just have to play it by ear. He looked around at their surroundings, and a thought came to him. "So, did you have a purpose for coming out here other than to talk? This time together is nice to be sure."
