Refer-A-Friend
- Added the Refer-A-Friend feature, where users can get whuddlebeans and awards for referring friends.
- Added a page for users to view the status of people they've referred, both those that are citizens and those that are moving in. You can reach this by going to 'My Account' from the main page and clicking on the 'Referral Records' button at the top of the page
'System' Messages
- Added the ability to alert users to noteworthy current and upcoming events with using messages.
- Added a page for users to view these messages if they 'click past' it too fast, as well as see current system wide messages You can reach this by going to 'My Account' from the main page and clicking on the 'Messages History' button at the top of the page
Internal updates
- Added miscellaneous internal updates to make site maintenance easier.

Shops are coming! [02/09/06 05:41:41 PM]
Greetings all,
It's been quite awhile since you've heard any word of the much anticipated 'Shops' - so I thought it might be time to drop in and share with you what's going on with those and a few bits of info on upcomming events.
First and most important - the Shop System is almost here! It's been in active development for quite awhile now, but is also a fairly complex system and we have had a few unexpected things crop up to interfere with the timeline a bit. But, I can safely say that we are _very_ close (1-2 weeks at most) to releasing them. Yay!
Along with the shops will come the new DazzleDab (DD) system we've mentioned in previous announcements - with some extra special rare items being released with that as well.
Now I'm sure you're all wondering what, who, where...when, etc. - and while I would love to tell you all the details, I've been sworn to secrecy. Discovering just where and when the shops will open, what types of shops they will be and just who will be running them is part of on-going quest that will unfold over the next week or so. Keep your eyes and ears open for hints here in the forums and other parts of the site for random clues, hints and rumors that might help fill in some pieces of the puzzle!
So for those of you who have been with us awhile and patiently waiting - they're almost here - just a couple more weeks...and for those of you who have recently joined our little community - you're in for a very fun couple of weeks!
And one final piece of news to share before I dash off to help with shops and other fun things ... there's some fun stuff planned for Valentine's Day too, so be on the lookout for those events as well!

Unfortunately, Meleth had to return to his day job! He wanted me to tell all of you that he really enjoyed his 3 day run as cupid and looks forward to donning his Valentine Day duds again next year.
FYI: The Card Box will remain active until midnight (CST), Friday, Feb. 17th.
Thanks everyone for participating - hope everyone enjoyed the goodies! And the entire Elder Council wanted me to say "Thanks!" on their behalf for all the wonderful Valentines! They made our day!

"WhuddleWorld is GROWING!" As you all may have noticed, we're delighted and excited to see LOTS of new Citizens moving into WhuddleWorld. Welcome everyone! We're so glad you're here! This activity was a little unexpected so the Elder Council is dashing around making preparations to make you feel welcome. Over the next few days, there may be a few unexpected "glitches" - have no fear - the Elders are on it! If you run into serious trouble, go ahead and use the contact form. (There's a link to it at the bottom of every page.) In the meantime, we'd like to extend a request to all of our current Citizens to help us make the newcomers feel welcome and learn the ropes and rules of WhuddleWorld. And when in doubt, you can always pop over to the TOS. (There a link at the bottom of every page for that too!) Thank you all for being a part of WhuddleWorld! Oh, and we'll be handing out some special "Thank you" and "Welcome" gifts pretty soon so keep your eyes peeled!

The babbleboard is now offline and the BBB boards have been down for 7 hours now and will be closed until 9PM EST tomorrow. But take a nice look at what the BBB boards notice says now (Click for bigger version): And yet, surprisingly, with nothing to do other then throw snowballs, and things that due with the omnibus, and of course play the two games, There are 147 Whuddles logged in.

BBB boards are back! But...with many changes...

On our recent growth:
As you all have noticed by now, I'm sure - WhuddleWorld is experiencing a sudden landslide of growth. All sorts of new Citizens are moving in and there's lots of new faces, new questions, etc. We're delighted to see everyone - but the growth was also a bit unexpected, and so the Elders (staff) here at WhuddleWorld have had their hands full trying to make sure any bugs discovered were getting patched, and problems were dealt with, etc.
Although some of you were likely expecting that the random downtimes for the Forums, etc. were heralding big things, such as the release of the shops, more on the quest, etc...unfortunately this was not the case. Allow me to explain some of the changes you'll notice today going forward, and then Elder Kaitler will follow with another post on the general "State of Things" for WhuddleWorld.
Changes:
1. The Blah Blah Blah Boards will shut down each night at 10:00pm CST and will not re-open until 8:00am CST in the morning.
2. The BabbleBoard will be offline until we can implement our Citizenship system (more on this shortly)
3. Many of the BBB Board Categories and Topics you are familiar with have been disabled for now - with a few new things being added. These will also remain in this state until the new Citizenship system is in place.
On Elders and Guides:
Two newish faces have recently re-joined the Elder Council - Elder's Elyena and Goran have returned from a long journey and will be helping us with things in the months to come. (Some of you may have already met Elder Elyena)
We will also be welcoming some new faces to the Guide Council in the upcoming days and will post more information on that soon as well.

The State of Things
As Elder Lyrael said, all the new Whuddles joining us have been a bit unexpected and so one of the systems that we've been working on to handle this number of Whuddles moving in, Citizenship, is not quite ready yet. Citizenship will allow us to better moderate the Blah Blah Blah Boards and the BabbleBoard, so until it's in place we're making the changes mentioned above.
The Citizenship System will be a really neat feature that will allow Whuddles to take control of maintaining the fun and happy spirit of the community, have a say in the development of WhuddleWorld and, best of all, the cool Citizenship Status meter in your Omnibus will be put to use!
New Whuddles, please be aware that WhuddleWorld is meant to be a safe, fun place for people of all ages to enjoy. Whuddles who choose to act in an offensive, rude, or obnoxious manner or who refuse to follow the rules outlined in the TOS will not be tolerated and will be removed from the community.
So that's it - a few changes but still lots of things going on! Don't forget about the WoWs Quest that's running - keep your eyes open for more clues very soon!

Well, alot of the forums are gone temporarely (All the game forums, the RP ones, and the Chatter and Hobbies & Interests)... Hopefully they'll be back soon and the new time thing will hopefully only be temp. as well.

Friend Requests and Introductions have been merged into one forum >_> Yippee.
Anyway, if you're up before me and find out something first, POST IT HERE! ANYBODY can post announcements! I'll be gone for a whole 10 days in April during Easter. That's the Easter event (Which I'm going to try my best to be on for if there is one) AND an extra week! So please get used to it!
