"Order" is such a misleading word. For us, it usually means PIZZA PARTY WOOHOO!

What are you talking about, graduating is for losers!

Showing you're better than graduates even after dropping out is the true awesome.

Hrm, maybe I'd feel better about it if we actually had graduating robes over here.

*DISCUSSION REVIVAL*

We don't have graduating robes here either, except at degree level.

Honestly, I feel like they make way too much fuss over "graduating" in America (as in, graduating high school). It's a ridiculous amount of fuss for obtaining the lowest level qualification you can get. XD

Then again, maybe I'm just bitter because we don't do any celebrating over here even after A level. Because of the way the qualification system works the school year ends on a cliffhanger - we sit our exams and then have to wait two months while the examination boards mark the papers, releasing the results in late August.

It feels like a real anticlimax, if you ask me. The highlight of receiving my results at GCSE was getting an A in Art and Chemistry and my mum giving me a lovely white congratulations bear. Last year was upsetting because I got a surprise C in the source-based history paper (we didn't think to remark, so I just resat in January and got an A that time). I don't know how I'll feel this year when I go to get them.

I'm sure some Americans would be shocked at the relative nonexistence of ritual celebration there is over here. No proms, no pep rallies, housewarmings are uncommon... Basically, there are no huge celebrations for tiny reasons. Does it suck? Meh. I find parties too much fuss anyway.

I liked prom....I looked very dashing ^.^ and I never want to dress up in a suit again.

Graduation wasn't too big with me. I am never a fan of big crowds, and have stage fright. So the whole ceremony was a big waste of time though. I DID keep the robes and my hat though, but i'd have rather not gone. The only great thing was that It was in the new state of the art school gym.

Honestly, I was MUCH happier passing my vocational class. The certification exam for that was killer, but I still got top grade for it. Then to top it off, I was invited to a special dinner where the certificate was handed to me by my teacher. He seemed very proud, which was awesome. That's when I found out only like 8 people got an advanced on the certification (above 90%)

Honestly, I never went to any of those celebration things. Prom was just for the memories really, to have fun.

Lol I can make do without the celebrations. Didn't feel all that special when I graduated high school, to be honest, which probably looked weird because the rest of my mates were crying their eyes out. =u=; Now, graduating college... THAT really calls for celebration. After all those years of pain and suffering I deserve a good meal, at the very least! D8< And by good meal I mean meat. Lots of it.

Mmm...

Ugh... prom. My god that felt horrible LOL. I felt so naked wearing a gown. Every time I raised my arms I felt like my boobs were about to spill out. And my boobs weren't that big, either. =A=; But it was an experience, I guess. Made me feel like an actual female for one grueling night.

Nii's obsession with meat frightens me a little XD heart

I LOVE wearing gowns~ I feel so comfortable in them =) (Regular gowns, not cap'n'gowns, as I've never been in one yet)

Yeeeesss graduating your BA or higher DEFINITELY calls for a celebration. Dayum, god knows you deserve it.

I think we're going to be going to have a meal sometime after next thursday to celebrate the end of my exams. That's about it. I like going out for meals from time to time, so it's perfect for me =) I hate the typical youth party, with all the smoking and drinking >3>; I've never been to one because of that. Grown-up parties are better. Formal parties. I like formal parties.

Iunno, when I get my results... nothing'll happen, probably. I'm thinking the dates may clash with the county show again, so we'll probably get my results in the morning then speed off to tend to soem chickens 8D

On an OT note... I wanna go shopping ;3;
