Let the moonlight sign post shine through the clouds to me

______No matter how close to breaking I am today....

-Ephraim-

Well this was something unexpected. Usually events or parties like these never interested the prince, but nowadays he seemed to be attending them. Didn't matter, it would be great to see everyone after that traumatizing event back in Halloween, a party was more than likely to cheer most people up if they hadn't already.

Of course, leave it to this to be a formal as well. Ephraim was wearing but a simple outfit which consisted of the usual color, light blue tunic, lined down from the neck to the center with a few frills at the hem of the sleeves. A golden chain connected from the the left shoulder seam to the pocket on the left of his tunic. He had a cloak over him to keep him from the cold. The snow made things worse and his horse, Lumice, obviously did not appreciate it.

He managed to get to the host club a tad late. Not that he wasn't always but this one he was extremly late. More then he had expected but what can you do with a fussy boyfriend nagging and demanding that you don't go.

Honestly, Ephraim didn't understand Kishuna at times but that was just how the morph was.

The moment he entered, the place was already filled with laughter and people mingling left and right. Wow, who knew in a short amount of time this place would be crawling with other FEFers.

Although there were many Ephraim knew and met, there was just too many he knew to even start. There was Joshua...Roy was here as well with Melethia then the same old Ziaram mingling as much as he could around near the back from what the prince could see..and quite a few more he couldn't quite get the names because..well...it was all too confusing.

He did however, move from the doorway so that the cold breeze wouldn't blow in anymore then it was when he stood there.

"But it's not my style FD. Sparkles and heels are not me." She said, then FD handed her, the drink "Thank you." She took a sip of her drink. "Let us have a good time Spitfire." She smiled. Melethia did wonder how well Roy would be able to handle the alcohol. She then took another sip. "How many drinks have you had FD? Because I need to catch up to you if you've had a few."

JJoshua really hated interruptions when he was ready to gamble..... but since Amara was a cute little girl he’d make an exception.... so he couldn't help himself when he kneeled down to her level and smiled at her. "We met once... not in the best conditions though, How you doin kiddo?" Joshua liked little kids.

He still had the coin in his hand that he was going to flip for Sue so he decided on doing a little magic trick, hiding the coin in-between two fingers so Amara couldn't see the coin in his hand, he reached behind her ear and pretended to pull the coin from behind her ear. Showcasing the coin in his palm, he waved his hand closing it as he did. When the hand opened again the coin was gone, up one of the long sleeves of the jacket he had decided to wear.

"Huh? I coulda sworn I left that coin right here......" He reached up and took off his hat to scratch his head and if Amara followed looked up at the top of his head she'd see the coin resting comfortably on his hair.

He placed the hat back on his head and smiled again at the little girl.

".... Now when did I say you could come without me?" A soft voice came through the doorway, an arm slipping around Ephraim's waist to pull him close. Kishuna was.... surprisingly enough, actually dressed this time. His free hand brushed snow from the shoulders of the dark coat; he wore all black, as usual, along with a hat tipped at a rakish angle over one eye. Stylish and formal, yet he still managed to pull off sexy. The morph never failed to amaze himself. And hey, this time he had a date to the dance, right?

He grinned over at Ephraim; the prince was just a bit shorter than him, maybe an inch or so, but enough that he could look 'down' at him. The hat came off his head, and he plopped it on Ephraim's head cheerfully. "Nice look for you, princeling~" He laughed, then released the prince to look around at the room. Didn't know that one, didn't know that one, kinda knew that one, that one was that Mel girl that the old man knew, that was the dragon kid from back in Elibe... and there was his 'niece' and her husband. Plenty of people to go talk to later, once the party got going. He smirked at the liquor table; he had an advantage there, and he was certainly going to use it over the prince next to him.

He turned back to Ephraim then, extending a hand to the young man with a cheery smile. "So, come along with me. Can't leave you alone for the fangirls to fawn over, can I? Besides, this would be a great place to, you know... make it official." He winked at Ephraim, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the nearest group of people they knew. "C'mon, I promise I'm not going to embarrass you, kiddo~" Well, not until you've had a bit more to drink~

"It's great to see you too Ziaram." said the young lord, looking over his shoulder at the man. But before he could say anything more, the swordman had already wandered off to where Sue and Joshua were.

He turned back to look at the dragons, catching his Uncle giving him a parental glare and a scolding for attempting to drink. "...What? You make it seem like I haven't had alcohol before. When we stopped Bern and Idoun, everyone partied for months. I got away with a few drinks, with Father's permission. But don't worry, I know how much I can tolerate. It looks like I have Uncle FD's permission to drink. Shall I ask for yours too?" he asked the shotabard.

The young lord turned to look at the other Uncle, who had just served the drinks. He thanked the elder dragon before he looked at the mug. He wasn't going to drink just yet, not without Nils' permission. Roy did nod to Mel though, when she told him to have a good time.

I'm falling into memories of you, things we used to do...
... Follow me there, a beautiful somewhere...

♥ ◄AMARA► ♥

Amara giggled, smiling at Sue. "Oh, my mommy's been doing great! She's been happy and stuff." She nodded quickly. "She's at home right now, though. She wouldn't tell me why she was staying behind... just to say that she's 'sorry'." She shrugged her shoulders, swaying back and forth, her winter coat swaying along with her movements. She held her hand up to Sue's face. "But my mommy let me come with just my uncle Aki! I'm a big girl now. I'm almost five!" The young girl squealed with excitement at the thought of her birthday; it was always the first day of the new year, something that Amara thought was completely amazing.

As soon as Amara was introduced to Joshua, her attention was completely brought away from Sue. She blinked curiously at the red-headed swordsman, her eyes flickering down to the coin resting in the palm of his hand. Her own hand reached for the coin, but she pulled back as his fingers closed around the object.

Her eyes widened with amazement as the hand was shown to her once more; this time, the palm was empty. "Whoa!!" She tilted her head up to look at Joshua. "Where did it--" Amara stopped herself. Her eyes widened once more, this time with delight. She let out a cheerful squeal, practically slamming into Joshua as she hugged him. "It's on your head, Joshie, it's on your head!!" She exclaimed through her giggling.

But, once again, Amara's attention was pulled away, focusing on another person. She gasped widely, releasing the swordsman immediately. "EPHIE!!" Without a second thought or even a good-bye, she ran over to her self-proclaimed big brother. She hugged Ephraim tight, babbling with excitement, until she noticed the person holding onto Ephraim's hand. It was someone she didn't recognize at all. And it was a guy, too! She had never seen a guy hold a guy's hand before!

Amara tilted her head with curiosity, raising a hand to point at Kishuna. "Who are you?" She demanded, staring at the person holding her big brother's hand; of course, it sounded way too cute to be even remotely threatening, but it still was a demand.

We're part of a story, part of a tale...
... Sometimes beautiful, sometimes insane...

♫ ◄NILS► ♫

Nils sighed to himself, shaking his head slowly. Did Lord Eliwood really allow that? He rubbed the back of his head; he felt like he was giving in too easily but hey, it was a party. The bard couldn't be a complete killjoy, especially since he was one of the hosts of the party! "... As long as you don't go overboard. I don't want to have to explain to my sister why you started doing whatever at the party because you were intoxicated." He told his Nephew firmly, a serious look in his eyes. "That would be a hassle for you and me."

... No one remembers how it began...

Kishuna gazed down at the girl with increased interest; she was adorable, wasn't she? Granted, towards normal women the morph was a pervert, but towards a little girl? No, of course not. And she looked so demanding. That face was even cuter~ He released Ephraim's hand for a moment, then reached out and ruffled Amara's hair, smiling widely. "I'm Ephie's.... special friend. We're roommates, he's living with me." He glanced up at Ephraim; he wasn't going to embarrass the prince just yet. He knew his love could be sensitive sometimes. And after all, there would be plenty of time later for that~

Anyway, he had the girl to deal with. So he turned his attention back to her with a grin. "Don't worry, I'm being nice to him. Besides, he protects me, you know. I got attacked by a bear before, and he took the bear out all by himself." He reached over and patted Ephraim's chest, letting his hand linger just a moment before it fell. "Ephie's big and strong," he told the young girl with a grin. "Now, who are you, little one? If you're a friend of Ephy's, you're a friend of mine, you know."

Charice and Javert entered well ahead of Leon and Ghis. Javert could see the look on the girl's face. It spoke something to the effect of Darn it, couldn't he have taken me by the arm? Or at least said something sweet, rather than grinning and taking it all in?

Well, at least, that's what he THOUGHT her look suggested, judging how she'd metaphorically melted a bit back there. This might be the first time I've seen her look unglued, he thought to himself. I wonder...

"Hey, Javert?"

"Yes?"

"You don't need to wait up for me. I've got, err..." she waved her hands about in those uncertain gestures people make when they're about to sacrifice themselves to save the world and don't want the protagonist to find out, or when they're about to reveal they were out all night "drinking with the guys".

Javert grinned. "I think I got it, Charice. Good luck!" He waved, heading off in the direction of the bar. He didn't know very many people here--okay, Amelia and her husband he knew, but they seemed busy at the moment, and, well. Say what you will about alcohol, but the stuff rarely failed at the game of "icebreaker".

It didn't take him terribly long to find the bar itself, but which one was in charge? Everyone looked so darned fancy, it was--ahh, wait. That one guy was setting down a few random drinks, which could only mean...!

"Hello," Javert gave a wave of his hand to FD as he walked up to the bar. "I just arrived, and I'm parched. Anything you'd recommend? I have no idea where to start on drinks and, well, I figure I'd best get what I can. There's another guy coming with a keen interest in your stock!" He grinned, wondering just how much Ghis would wash down tonight...

Yes, Leon had his faults. His style of speaking reminded her a bit much of Ghis or Dan, and would it kill him to have a more noble dialect? Seriously, his posture, his clothes--everything about him nearly screamed "I'm a nobleman"! But again, the rest of the "noble" bearing was still there, and he seemed like the kind of guy who ENJOYED doing the right thing. That alone was more than she could say for a lot of guys she'd seen or met.

She glanced down at herself, wondering if anything was out of place. Let's see... the clothes look pretty good, I made sure my hair was in place (not that it's long enough to go crazy), and... I'm good, right? Right!

Of course, if the knight took too long, she might just move along. Standing around in the doorway waiting for someone who might not know they were waiting for you felt embarrassing!

User ImageAmara was already going to be five. Oh, how the time went by so fast. Sooner or later, she was going to be getting a tutor, and learn how to read and write. She might even learn how to do tactical plans too, just like Alihi. People always said that daughters took after their mothers. It made Sue wonder if she took after her mother. "Now that I think of it, Father should talk about her more." The nomad thought of it and frowned. There was nothing like asking a question and not getting a real answer. It didn't feel nice at all.

The swordmaster had asked her a question earlier though. She could tell just by his eyes what he desired. "You want to spar, don't you? Maybe not now, as I'm a Host, but sometime soon. There's no need to leave a good test of skill to chance, Joshua. I'll see if you're truly a master of the blade when we get to cross swords." She smiled, and then turned her head to Ephraim and Kishuna. The knew what those key words Kishuna were saying really meant, but she just couldn't imagine it.

"Ephraim and Kishuna are an item? No way..."

User ImageWhile he waved, Leon realized something. Charice and Javert had all gotten ahead of him! Was the old rivalry still alive in their minds, where they thought it was funny that the Lieutenant looked like a loon saying hello to every living person and being too overly friendly? Well, not exactly. They were just up ahead, but 'up ahead' was hard to reach with the crowd.

He tried as polite as he could to push through the crowds, careful not to look too aggressive as he caught up to his comrades. Then he noticed it (for sure) that Charice was looking his way. Not only looking, but possibly the look that meant something more. He wasn't about to jump the gun just yet though, it was a good way to get your heart broken and your lights knocked out.

"Er... Charice..." He begun to speak, when he looked her over. Although the dress did clash slightly with the green hair, it was the Falcon Knight's face that it brought out more. Leon hadn't realized just how... graceful she was outside of battle. How was she still this seemingly pure after the company she hung around? Maybe her paradox was the same as his: Leon remained dutiful and true, despite the not so glorious history of his own squad. Birds of a Feather, yes they were. "It's great to see ya, for starters. 'S been a busy season... eh? Ya look... well."

Joshua laughed inwardly at the youg girls reaction and was caught off guard when she tackled him and called him "Joshie"

"Joshie?" He thought to himself as he lay on his back laughing in his mind, the grin on his face was hidden by the hat which slid down as he fell over, when he thought that he wouldn't giggle out loud at the sight of anyone he slid the hat back up and gathered himself back to his feet.

"So you don't want to make a bet though? Dang..... Well at least let’s have a wager like I will with Ziaram.... It’s no fun without one eh?"

Joshua then saw Ephraim... holding hands with another guy, "Eh? I didn’t expect that! He always had women all over him.... lucky bugger... ooh well more for me."

Turning away from all that he looked back at Akihi and walked up to the sage, "Hey, I've been meaning to ask someone..... What the hell happened back there....."

A crisp cold evening with a full moon lighting the pathway. Levail was walking back to his chamber when a swooshing sound had hung in the air and a heavy Clang had been all he heard as he dropped to the floor after being hit into the face. He jolted up as he remembered this and found himself in a room that wasn't his. "Ugh....Where am I?" he said as he rubbed his face and stood up then fell to the left and grabbed the end of the bed.

He put on a deep red shirt on with the chest a little torn from the closet. Brown trousers and brown ankle high boots. He grabbed a candle holder as a weapon as he stepped out into the hallway and saw a man standing at the foot of the stairs. He silently stepped over and raised his Makeshift Weapon.

John stood there fixing his dark green coat had seen the shadow loom over his shoulder and jolted his arms up and grabbed the arm of the assailant and tossed him over his shoulder and Levail had landed face first on the floor infront of him. John readied his knife he always kept in his boot and grabbed the man by the collar and held the knife to him. "Who are you and why did you try to attack me?!" John asked quickly as he looked at the man.

"Levail. Were you the one that Attacked me in Tellius?!" Levail shot back. "No lad. And I would hate to inform you but you aren't in Tellius anymore. Your in Learania. Come lad...I'll introduce you to everyone at the party." said John as he held his hand to him. "Uh...ok." Levail timidly accepted his hand and came up. "Name's John. Welcome to Learania!" he said as he moved his hand over the party to show where he was.

Just as she had announced her presence to her sister, Lethe was pulled in the direction of 3 chatting beorc. Then Lyre started to introduce her to the small group. The older cat wasn’t the most pleased with that introduction but it could have been worse.

She faced Rath and examined him. So this was their leader? He seemed like a respectable beorc at first glance. “Hello” was all she could say before other laguz quickly ushered her attention to Rhys and Amelia.

“Rhys, it’s been a long time,” Lethe replied, recalling the bishop’s name from her work with the Greil Mercenaries. “How have you been?”

"Lethe, is it? It's nice to meet you."
She turned her head towards Rhys’s wife when she addressed her. “That’s correct,” the dressed up feline fighter nodded. “It’s nice to meet you too, Amelia.” Lethe noticed the young woman’s eyes travel to the shoes in her hands. She shifted her stance to a more comfortable one. Her bare feet felt cold against the ballroom floor, but there was no way in hell she was going to put those infernal heels back on.

“I’ve only just arrived. So far it’s been pleasant.” She smiled contently.

I've been dreaming for so long...
... To find a meaning, to understand...

• ◄AKIHI► •

Akihi could have face-palmed, seeing that his niece was being overly enthusiastic and energized. Then again, this was her normal state. The mage shook his head slowly, running a hand back through his hair. What does my sister feed that girl... sugar with a side of more sugar?

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask someone..."

"... Huh?" He glanced over his shoulder for a moment, turning completely once identifying who it was; it was Joshua, one of the few people he knew in this... this place by name. "... 'Back there'? Do you mean..." Akihi trailed off, not bothering to finish his sentence. The meaning was, after all, pretty much understood. He was referring to the kidnapping and all that drama from not too long ago. "... What do you mean 'what happened'...?"

The secret of life...
... Why am I here to try again?

"I've been good," Rhys said. "I've met many friends here, my wife included. It hasn't been easy around here--Eyris gets a fair share of troubles--but we've persevered and survived, and here we are!"

Amelia paused, Lethe's greeting to Rhys not lost on her. Someone else came here from Tellius? I wonder if she knows what it means, coming here... But that was a tale for a more somber time. Besides, Lyre was here, so by the look of things, Lethe would be fine.

"Well, we're glad you're enjoying yourself so far. We at the FEF Host Club aim to please," she said with a bit of cheerful flair. "Speaking of pleasing, we should be using that ballroom floor pretty soon. We've just been waiting to see who else might show up, since some people arrive a bit late."

--------

Ah!

There was no mistaking the look the crossed his face--he wanted to see her! He started out slowly... Maybe just shy, that's okay, keep rolling... he looked her over... He likes what he sees, also a plus...

Some women might have been disappointed on his "Ya look... well" finish, but Charice restrained herself from laughing, settling for a giggle. It was corny, but it would do for now. "Thanks! You look very nice, yourself. I mean, Halloween was nice, but you've outdone yourself.

"It's nice to see someone with that sense of style, really," she added, smiling. "I mean, yeah, we're soldiers, but nobody in the ranks knows how to dress! Not like you do."

(At this point, the band will start to be playing. Picture one of the best songs you've ever listened to and medievalfy that jazz, and this band will DOUBLE the awesome. I couldn't figure out a good song for here, so yeah, no link. But dance if you like!)

(Also, tentatively I'd like to say this party will end by Sunday. Tentatively.)
