Jayden sat in his normal seat that day in the class he shared with Kaylin, but this time, Kaylin was a club member, "Hey Kid." He stopped by his seat on the way to his own, "You going to be at the Mentor's tonight?"

Kaylin's head popped right up off the desk. For a moment he stared at Jayden. "I can't come, my mom really doesn't want to go out and party." Kaylin frowned. He was just surprised Jayden had actually noticed him at all.

"Aw, but you gotta come, Kid." He leaned down toward the desk, "Just say you're coming over to my house to study or something." He shrugged, "That's what my mom thinks I'm doing."

Kaylin looked distressed as he felt. He hadn't slept well that night and his mom and sister were both ganging up on him about staying home for the family dinner they had every single night. "I guess I could try that." Kaylin slipped his phone out of his pocket and texted his mom the request to go to a new friends house to study.
Kaylin's mom was still young looking though she was much older then her appearance. Pretty and very womanly. Long wavy hair fell to her mid back and green eyes sparkled sparkled from her pretty face, with it's full pink lips.
She was at work when she got the text. Being the good mom she was she replied right away. "Sure you can go, but this friend has to let me meet him, I want to make sure this one is real."
Kaylin almost died when he read his mom's text. "My mom said sure but she wants to meet my new friend." Kaylin fidgeted in his seat.

Jayden shrugged, "That's chill. I can do it." He heard the bell ring and smiled, "On to my seat, catch me after class, we'll skip next and we can arrange a ride."

Now Kaylin was a good kid. He had never so much as gotten a detention his how school career. So skipping class seemed like a big deal. None the less soon as the class was over he found himself waiting by Babylon's desk. "So where do we go?"

"Come with me, Kid." Jayden stood and walked out, like any kid would, but toward the back of the school, behind all of the buildings, in a wooded area, he brought them, until they were far enough away to not be caught. "Now. Want me to talk to your mom?

Kaylin followed close behind Babylon. He looked around at the wooded area around them then finally to Jayden "Yeah, she wants to meet you, or she said I can't go." He sighed "She will come pick me and my sister up after school, I guess you could meet her then." Kaylin said hopefully.

"You smoke?" Jayden pulled out a pack of cigarettes and offered one to Kaylin after taking one for himself, placing it in his mouth and lighting it, "It's a terrible habit really. All Celt's fault."

Kaylin wrinkled his nose. Normally he would have said 'no', but he didn't want to seem boring or out of place. So he said "Sure." Kaylin took the offered cigarette and lite up. It took every thing he had not to start coughing and toss the damned thing on the floor.

"You alright Kid?" Jayden stifled a laugh, "Whatever. Tonight's gonna be a blast. The Mentor's parties always are."
At the end of the school day, Jayden found Kaylin outside in the car circle, as agreed, and approached him, "So, where's mom so I can meet her?"

Kaylin pointed. "Over there." Kaylin lead the way picking his way through the crowd of high school teens milling about.
Senna, Kaylin's mom, was parked off school property. She sat outside her car leaning on it, sunglasses covered her eyes from the bright sunlight. "Kay, baby!" She called and waved her hand when she saw him walking up.
Kaylin groaned and walked up. "Hey mom, this is my friend Babylon."

Jayden hid his intentions behind what looked like a friendly arm tossed over a buddy's shoulder, but he knocked Kaylin a good one in the head, "My name is Jayden, Wirtschafter. Kaylin's just stuck on a character I was in one of those class plays."
Jayden, though, being a club member had quite a tendency to be a bit more brazen than anyone else would have been, "Kaylin, you never said your mother was gorgeous. If he weren't with me I'd have sworn you were a student."

Senna raised a perfectly trimmed eyebrow, and pushed her son glasses back to on top of her head. "Oh sweetie aren't you just a doll!" She didn't care if one of her son's friends payed her a compliment. It made her feel good. Her recent divorce with her husband had left her doubting every thing about herself.
Kaylin made a face at the two of them "Ok now that you met him can I go to his house?" He asked feeling a bit irritated.
"Kay baby be nice, why don't you invite your friends over for a quick bite to eat then you guys can head out, Hum baby?" Senna smiled brightly.
"Hey Jayden wanna come over for a quick bite to eat?" He asked glaring daggers at his mother who just smiled through the whole thing.

Jayden glanced over with a smile to Kaylin's mother, but answered to Kaylin, "Will your mom be there?" He looked back and saw Kaylin's displeasure and laughed, "Yes, Kaylin, I'll come over for a quick bite to eat." he looked back to the boy's mother, "So, what can I call you, miss?"
