In his hurry, Raiden's fingers fumbled with tying a new knot. The teen swore softly before finally making the drawstrings close the bag's flap. Then with swift movements Raiden pulled the last bag over his shoulder.
Gold jingled in his money pouch and he groaned when he noted that the swear jar was empty. She beat him to it. A small grin tugged at his lips. Well it would figure - with the way that she helped fill it.
Something glinted in the far corner and Raiden paused in the smithery with a thoughtful expression. Should he? He shouldn't...the centaur headed towards the object and picked it up. It would be easy to take with him. Plus, he'd made it himself. It was technically his...

Khalidah snuggled up into the blanket with a little contented squeel. Her hair and tail blew up around her, but she no longer felt the cold. She was still trying to calm herself down from Aaron's nicities, having not seen Tzeitel's reaction.
She pursed her lips, clipping along on the cobblestones with her new shoes. "Maybe one cup, just so you can get your things together. Then, we're off!" With one hand wrapped in the ends of the blanket, the teenager pointed her finger to the sky.

Tzeitel smiled. "Ah, there we are then. Tea it is." She started right off, leading the way to Aaron's, while Aaron brought up the rear of the entourage.
It felt like no time at all before they reached Aaron's home. It was pretty much a group of huts shared by others searching for homes of their own. One large main hut for the kitchen plus three or four connecting huts for personal bedrooms. "Mine's on the right." He said as Tzeitel went for the main room. Inside, he got out the tea supplies. "You two do this, and I'll get my things." He said, disappearing through a door.

Khalidah's mouth hung open as she followed Aaron, coming to a sharp halt when he disappeared. She clenched the blanket tighter as she galloped after Tzeitel. "This place is amazing! It's nothing like my house at all." The teens eagerness shown through. Khali broke out into a run outside, inside, outside and inside again. "I didn't even know this place existed," She said to the adult female, her breathing a little ragged.

Tzeitel smiled at Khali's excitement, but shook her head. "It's only a temporary home for Aaron. Each door leads to another family's bedroom, and they all share this kitchen. It's easier for those on hard times, or for those looking for their own place." She pointed at Aaron's door. "He only moved here right before I came to the area. He had been looking for a house in town." She smiled. "So, what is your home like? Didn't one of you mention it was a smithy?"

Khalidah made a little 'o' with her mouth. "That makes sense. So, if I open up one of those doors it'll be someone elses place?" She pointed, curiously meandering closer to one of them. A little peek wouldn't hurt.... Though, after listening to Tzeitel, she felt a little deflated. "Oh...He was looking for a house and now..." Over her shoulder, she looked at his door and openly sighed. Still, it didn't keep her down for long. "With the money he gets from our adventures he's sure to buy a nicer home than anything Tree Haven can offer!"
She grinned. "Yep. It was my grandfather's before he passed away, leaving it to mom. The smithy's pretty big on it's own, but our house is right above it." She pointed up. "It's kinda small, though. Raiden and I have to share rooms."

Tzeitel shrugged, then smiled. "I wonder what the other places are like. My home, well, it's nothing special. I'll be happy to see what else is out there." She hoped Khali was right about the income that might come. She knew it'd be a while, but she still had to send money to her family. "And being a smith is not calling your name, huh?" She asked, putting the tea seeper into the pot of hot water.

Khali leaned up against the wall, shrugging the blanket down to where it was off her shoulders. "Nah. I'm good with my hands, but I get tired of looking at the same thing, day after day after day." She drolled on, rolling her head. "You know?"

Tzeitel shrugged, placing the pot on the large table to cool. "I suppose you're right. At least it will be a handy trade to have on the road." She pulled down three cups, then started looking for honey or sugar. "What do you like in your tea?"

Khalidah tucked her legs underneath her as she sat next to the table, pouring out two cups once it had cooled enough. "Milk, if there is any." She held the pot, a light frown on her face. "Did Aaron want a cup? I can't remember now."

Finding a small bowl of sugar, Tzeitel set it on the table beofre hunting out the milk. "I'm sure he'll want at least a small cup. There is a chill outside." She grinned when she found the cooler with a half full jug of milk. "Ah! You're in luck. Looks like the milker came by recently with his delivery, so it should be fresh." After dumping two cubes of sugar into her own cup, she dipped a dribble of milk in as well, passing the jug to Khali. She tossed another square into Aaron's cup. "Aaron! You're tea is getting cold!" She called through the door, winking at Khali.
"Almost ready. Use some of that hot air in your head to keep it warm for me!" He called back in return, barking a laugh when Tzeitel gave his door a heavy kick.

Khali nodded and filled in a third cup, sliding it over to Tzeitel to fix up with what he liked. She grinned brightly and fist-pumped the air. "Yes! Today really must be my lucky day." The teen filled it half full with milk and stirred with her finger while adding a cube. When she drank it, her cold seemed to seep out like the Spring winds.
She watched the exhance eagerly and laughed against her cup, choking down a drink before calling out, "Maybe we'll just drink it for you! It's really goo-ood." Khali slurped loudly.

Tzeitel laughed softly. She was happy that Khali was so relaxed. This was probably what her brother had been worried about though. She would look after the girl as best as she could. She knew Aaron would too. "Yeah! It's so tasty, I don't think there's ever been a batch of tea like it. It might be too good for you."
The door thumped open, Aaron trotting through and dumping his back pack on the floor. "You better not be drinking my share." He said, shaking a fist at the females. He picked up his cup and took a deep sip while heading to his pantry to grab some food for the road. "Well, that is good tea. Do you want a bite with this, or head straight on to Tzeitel's when we're done?"

Khalidah giggled and flashed Tzeitel a wink. What was her brother worried about, anyway? So far it was just like when she visited her friends for the night. Of course, it would last much longer than that, but so far so good.
She placed her forefinger under an eye and pulled the skin down as she stuck her tongue out at him. "Nyeeeehhhh!" Then she laughed and finished off her cup, pondering as she dabbled at the last bit with her finger. "I'm not really hungry, so I say we go on. What do you two think?" Vaguely, she was thinking about the longer they stayed, the more likely her parents would burst it at any minute.

Tzeitel finished off her cup as well, nearly inhaling the last sip at the face Khali was making. "Sounds like we're taking food for the road." She said cheerfully, cleaning out the used cups and pot and putting them away to dry.
Aaron nodded, packing food into a side sack that would tie to his pack. "All right. We can grab something small at Tzeitel's if we need anyway." He finished putting his pack together, grabbing a piece of paper from a drawer and writing a short note on it to the owner of the building. "There. We're all set here." He trotted over and held the door open for the females.
