"Oi... Hold up. Z. God, that's such a stupid name. Why do you let him call you that? You do have a real name, don't you?" If anything could be said about Cordelia Carden it was that she was persistent... And pretty good at being the 'stalker' type when it came to tracking down boys, especially once she'd gotten a good look of them.
Demy's 'friend' might have been small, but she managed to stay on him, voice softening slightly as she spoke up again. "Z, c'mon... He's really torn up back there, you know. Or do you seriously just not care?"

Hands went up in frustration. Down again at the sound of her voice softening... slumped shoulders when she said he was torn up... a glance over his shoulder, his eyes for a moment -very- vulnerable and hurt, before he looked away again.
"Zac....-Zachary- to be exact, but he -prefers- to call me Z for a -variety- of reasons, apparently Zac isn't 'awesome' enough"
He gave a bitter laugh then...
"He is my... best...friend, I -like- him, but that doesn't... mean, I can't be -f--king- upset... "
he was trying so damned hard to sound angry but he couldn't make himself turn around to show it in his eyes.
When the hell did Dem become the soft spot in his defenses... he couldn't even remember when, or how he'd worked his way in.

"Zachary... Zac. Do you mind if I call you that?" She tilted her head slightly to the side, a lock of midnight falling down along the side of her face only to be tucked back behind her ear moments later. "Not that 'Z' isn't awesome," she rolled her eyes, trying not to snort, "but I prefer real names... Which is why if he calls me Dolly again I'm going to punch him in the mouth."
Another empty threat. She could count on one hand the number of times she'd actually punched someone, although she was always willing to make exceptions for Demetri Wright.
"But you didn't say he was your best friend. You said that the two of you were... Just room mates, I believe? Anyways, he was sniffling all over the place and making a mess out of the eyeliner I put on him earlier when I was trying to figure out what color I liked best for me..." Rambling again. "... Obviously the idiot is hooked on you, whether that's something you're into or not. You can at least come back and make sure he's ok, right?"

That flush across his cheeks again and he suddenly found the display window of 'Claire's' very interesting at the mention that Dem was 'hooked' on him.
He knew, or he had some idea at least.
He folded his arms and sighed, for a moment it looked like he -might- give in, but then he looked back at 'Dolly' again and his eyes hardened again.
"Sure you want someone so -tacky- back at the table? I mean I'm nothing but trouble anyhow." He started to take a step back and away from her.

"Duh. You're a boy. Of course you're nothing but trouble." She shook her head, reaching out to grab his wrist so that she could tug him back towards the pizza joint. If that failed she'd go the old-fashioned school teacher route and just grab one of his ears. Cordelia was obviously one of those girls who was not used to taking 'no' for an answer.

"What are you Do...Are you certain you haven't FLIPPED GENDERS for that little bit of wisdom!?" He demanded pulling his wrists back out of reach from her lunch for them. Of course he wasn't anticipation gust how 'won't take no for an answer' was ingrained in her... yet.

"Mm. Nope. I've got boobs, you don't. That means you're the boy and currently you're giving me trouble." This time she grabbed him firmly by the wrist with one hand, yanking him close enough that she could grab his ear with the other, giving him a light tug back in the direction she wanted him to be going in. "If you behave I'll let you have your dignity back before we head inside and Demetri can think that you came back of your own free will instead of mine. I'm sure that'll make him stop crying."

"AAH!! OW!! What are you -insane!?" He protested cringing at the pinching grab that locked onto his ear. Holy HELL that kinda hurt.
"Aaa... there have to be LAWS against this!!" HE argued but had little -non- painful choose other than to be steered back whence they came.
...better be some damned good pizza.
And one HELL of a happy Dem.

She let go of the boy's ear as they paused outside of the pizza place, taking a moment to straighten him out and dust him off a bit before opening the door so that she could shove him inside, waiting a moment to make sure he wasn't going to bolt before following after him. Something about that had been way too easy, but she wasn't going to complain. She was going to sit back down and enjoy her salad and maybe a piece of pizza... Or two, since she'd done such an amazing job of working things out. She deserved a treat, didn't she?

In all honesty he had been contemplating leaving. If he could have just talked himself into lifting his head off the table and actually standing up he would have been long gone by now. But that would have left Cordy's bags in the booth...not to mention sticking her with the bill.... Yeah, leaving probably would have been a -bad- choice. But it was still tempting, given how upset he was.
Was he still crying? Sure was! One more sniffle escaped before Cordelia's triumphant voice filled the area and he was finally forced to lift his head.
"Huh?...W-who did you find?"
One shirt sleeve dragged across nose and eyes later and....wait, was that Z?? He'd come back?? Oh yeah, the crying died down to just a few sniffles and that typical goofy grin found it's way back to his face.
"You...c-changed your mind? Huh Z?..."
MAN did he want to go and snag the shorter boy for a hug. But given how the previous interaction went...yeah it wasn't a wise choice.

"...Yeah well she..." He started and then stopped...
"Yeah I came back.. " He mumbled looking embarrassed and ran a hand through his bangs unsure what to do or say.
Of course there was always the obvious.
"Sorry..." he said glancing away.
"... Move over..." he added shortly there after and plopped down next to him again.
A pause and he bumped his shoulder subtly against Dem's... humph.
he'd deal with -her- somehow later.

As hard as she tried she simply couldn't keep herself from rolling her eyes at the most retarded display of boyness that she'd seen in a while. Did they really have to be so freaking dumb?
Of course. They were boys.
Making a mental note to herself that when the day came she was going to find a man as opposed to a boy she slid into her side of the booth, grabbing her glass of coke to take a sip. "Help yourself to the pizza... And if the waiter comes back you can order yourself a drink too." Her grin was triumphant and just a little bit on the cocky side.

Alright, he just couldn't resist any longer. With what sounded like a happy squeak Demy attached himself to poor poor Z and hugged him rather tightly.
"Z! I'm so glad you came back and you're not mad at me are you? Cause man I can't handle you being mad at me again I just want you to be -happy- and just...thank you for coming back!"
Pause. Breathe. Cringe.
"Thank you thank you thank you!"
One final tight squeeze and he finally had to let go, cringing the whole time. -Ow-. But it had been worth it.
"Now eat some pizza man, it's sooooo good trust me."
It only took a pause to wipe away the last of his tears before Demy dove right back into lunch. Damn this pizza was good, but it was better with -friends- to share it with.

"dude seriously if you hurt your ribs again..." He didn't finish the threat, just left it an unspoken warning, not that he suspected it would have ANY impact. But shot a dry look at "Cordy" ...cocky wench. He'd just have to figure out how to enact his revenge without Demy connecting it to him, not so hard right?
But making it effective, that would be the tricky part. Later though later...
"Chew!" he added watching Dem dive into the pizza with some alarm.

"You mean pizza is supposed to be chewed?" Her brow lofted slightly as she stared across the table at Zac with mock disbelief. "I thought it was supposed to be inhaled..." Her eyes rolled then as she flashed him a grin before glancing over at Demy. "So after this you're going to help me carry all of that stuff at least halfway back to my parent's house, right? I mean, I'm sure you don't want to stop in with your bo-- Room mate and say 'hi' or anything, but..."
