My best friend's boyfriend always talked about how great MCR is, but I always saw him as a brother and made it my goal to annoy him, and way #1 to do that was refuse to even listen to MCR even once. So he'd walk down the halls at school humming a random MCR song and I'd tell him to shut up or whatever. Then he started putting up quotes from MCR songs as his status on facebook or myspace. The one that really got me interested was "Juliet loves the beat and the lust it commands / Drop the dagger and lather the blood on your hands Romeo" from their song The Sharpest Lives, and I thought omg that sounds so cool, and then my best friend was like, I know you love annoying my boyfriend and all, but you really would like this band and she made me listen to Teenagers and watch the video for Helena (which seems to be almost everyone's first MCR video lol) and I totally fell in love with the band. I listen to their songs all the time. When I'm happy, I dance around like an idiot to their songs, when I'm pissed off or depressed I turn up their songs full blast and sing along (usually terrifying my family lol), it keeps me from doing the stupid stuff I used to when I was depressed. MCR changed my life, I love this band! (and to give credit where credit is due, I should thank my best friend's boyfriend for turning me onto them. So thanks Doc. And relish those words cuz they will never be said again razz )

Well, my story is short so here it goes. My Chem was my best friend's band for a long time. And ever since 2003 (when she discovered them) she had tried to get me to listen to them numerous times without success. It took until 2006 for me to FINALLY listen to her. She started letting me listen to one of her copies of "Three Cheers" and I was immediately hooked! She gave me "Bullets" as a birthday present and later, I bought "The Black Parade" and "The Black Parade Is Dead". I am trying to hunt down LOTMS but I cannot find ANYWHERE that sells it. sad My best friend says that shes getting it for my next birthday so maybe there's hope. If anyone knows where to find it, please PM me or comment on my profile or something. And that's my "How I Found MCR" story.

I was first exposed when Fuse began airing the PV's for "I'm Not Okay, "Helena," and "The Ghost of You." I wasn't hooked immediately, but become curious and did some research. When I read what they were all about, I fell in love. They were honest and inspirational. At the time, I related to "I'm Not Okay," being an outcast nerd in high school.

LaLaFunk *looks down at self* im 135 (at least) and 5'7"... thats overweight... i think... and even if it isnt, i look it. Trust me, you aren't overweight. 135 is a very healthy weight for someone in your height range. See? http://www.heightweightchart.org/height-weight-chart-for-women.php You have a small frame according to this chart. If you weighed less than 123 pounds, you'd be skinny to the point of being unhealthy.

I legitimately found out about MCR from two fan girls that road my bus during middle school who wanted to mother their children. Due to finding out about MCR through them, the band kind of creeped me out. I moved out of town a year or so later, gave my first full MCR song a listen, and I became a fan of the band. I think the reason they stuck out to me as much as they did is because of their song "Cancer".

I first saw the video for Helena but didn't really take much notice, I was obsessed with Green Day at that point and was always hearing about the two bands being compared to each other. It wasn't until I first heard Welcome to the black parade that I realised what I'd been missing out on for the last couple of years

Hmm, I realized I never replied to this topic, but anywho... I first found out about MCR, because I was in this stage of obsession over Twilight. Yes, Twilight.
I was looking up Twilight videos on Youtube, and I found one that I liked. It had "Vampires Will Never Hurt You" playing during it. I liked the song, and I started to listen to more songs by them. Soon enough, I got hooked.

Wow, I can't believe I never repled to this... ah well, here goes.
SO. The year is 2008. I was over one of my mom's friend's houses, and they had some music channel on, like one of the ones that just play songs. I remember "Teenagers" came on, by a band called My Chemical Romance. I knew I'd heard the band name somewhere before, but never a song. I listened to the song, and I liked it alot. I recall someone turning it off before it ended, however, which made me sad. Then I'd heard that song again at my uncle's house a couple months later. This time, I'd fallen in love. Sadly, without the internet or a TV at that time, I had no means of finding more music by the band, until approx. June of 2009. I had discovered the Fuse channel a couple months prior, and I was friggen addicted to it. So, there was this show called the 'Chronicles'. An episode was on, about MCR. My reaction was like "Holy s**t, I'm gonna hear that Teenagers song again!!", I was insanely happy about that. But the songs that played, they were the more dramatic hits like Helena and WTTBP. I was like "Pfft. This can't be the same band.. can it?", but I loveloveloved what I heard. I would watch that Chronicles episode whenever it came on for like 3 months after that, and also every Loaded episode I could with them, until I finally heard the song I'd been hoping for. It was the clarification I needed that this truly was the same band whose catchy song I'd been singing in my head for a year.
And now, year 2010, you see the obsessive fan I am today.

My best friend had been bugging me 24/7 about MCR cuz she had been a fan for a while and I was all like, no. Then I went to the bowling alley and saw their music video for "Helena" and I was lie, what the hell am I missing? Then I got the video and showed it to my aunt and she loved it so yeah my whole family is MCR fans because of my friend.
