Santiago smiled. "Yes, sometimes I wish we had one of those baskets too. But we have burrows underground, so it would be dirty all the time and the like. " Santiago looked down at Silver, who was panting. Nodding her thanks to Tori, she skittered up her back and nestled in her fur with little Wisteria on her back. Santiago was lost in thought. This fox had totally mesmerized him, and until five minutes ago, he'd only heard mere stories about her. She was beautiful, no doubt, and nice. Shaking his head, he tried to get his thoughts into a more serious place.
Hearing the offer, Cyrus smiled and nodded. "We'd love to. Thanks so much." Following Tori, they headed off to the den.

Hitori had moved through the brush with the rat on her back, careful with her cargo as she made her way to the den. She lay down, gently plucking Silver and baby Wisteria off and placing them in the plush blankets and leaves that lined the den. She then went to Gwen, who was squeaking up a storm and squirming about in a tizzy. She sat beside her, licking hte little ones head as she hummed to her. It seemed to quiet her down a bit.
Rin-tu, Noel, and Leon smiled and followed behind the group of friends. They were so excited ot see them again, it was great. They were all going ot go to the beach! The sparkle-bubble-water and the stars that exploded were going to be SO COOL.
Starchaser, the little Coyote, was just sitting at the mouth of the den, wagging her tail as she chewed on her toy.

Anna, Biscuit, Malachai, Cyrus, Santiago, Rafe, Munchkin, Silver, Rafe II, and Wisteria
Silver took Wisteria off her back and held her by the scruff in her mouth. The little baby could hear others and started to wake up too, and soon enough, all the newborn rats were awake and squeaking. Silver brought Wisteria over to sit beside Gwen to see if they'd make anything of each other. Rafe and Biscuit followed suit with Rafe II and Munchkin. Laying all the baby rats in the center of Tori's fur, they waited to see what would happen.
Rafe and Silver had snuggled close to one another as they watched their children. Both of them were thinking about possibly raising future children, but Silver needed to rest and get herself back to her full health. Santiago, being the hopeless romantic he is, but still trying to respect her space, lied down beside Hitori, letting Anna, Biscuit, and the others curl up in his fur. Anna and Biscuit got out to play with the skunks, so it was just Cyrus and Malachai.

Hitori leaned down and licked the babes heads, her tail wagging. She never had any luck with having children of her own. so she was happy raising what little critters came her way. She then looked back at Santiago, smirking as she realized what he was up to. She made a small purring-like sound as she curled her tail around them. It was soft and warm, the little babes should have been calmed a bit by it. She watched the green little gwen squirm and squeak with the rest of them, snuggleing close and giving what seemed to be a small smile. " Thats better, no more tears."
Noel and Leon playfully pounced on eachother, Rin-tu wagging her tail as she leapt onto them and the three collapsed in a heap. Starchaser jumped onto the pile and barked, wagging her tail as she rolled on her back.

Rafe and Silver giggled at all the babies snuggling together and falling asleep again. They were all so cute together. Maybe they'd grow up and be friends. Santiago gazed down at them from Tori's side and smiled. They were actually cute. He'd always imagined having his own little babies running around someday, but he figured he'd never find a mate. Sighing, he lied his head down and watched as Anna and Biscuit climbed back in his fur with Cyrus and Malachai, who were all watching the other romp around on the floor.
Suddenly, Santiago's ears pricked up and he had an idea. Looking down at the four rats in his fur, he said, "Hey guys, I've got an idea. Follow me." Looking at Tori, he smiled and said, "We'll be back in a few minutes" Letting the rats get off of him, he stood up, shook his fur a little, and walked out, Cyrus, Malachai, Anna, and Biscuit in tow.
Once they'd gotten into the thicker forest, Santiago smiled and said, Alright guys, since we don't have a human basket of our own, we're going to make one so we can carry all the little ones in it. Maybe when we get back to our burrow, we can make some smaller ones to put in the rooms for the upcoming babies that are bound to show. Now, you guys go get as many flexible twigs as you can find. If you see any bark from the hemp trees lying around, grab that too. "
After a few minutes of searching, the rats came back with more twigs and bark than Santiago had originally anticipated. This was going to be easy. With some help from the rats, they all bent the twigs into a bowl and tied them in place at the middle and weaved the bark in and out of every other piece to make a basket. Taking the rest of the twigs, they tied them to the basket at the top and made some sort of a handle. Once they were finished, they looked at it and were surprised at how well it worked out. He remembered seeing much better ones with the humans, they used grasses instead of twigs for the main structure, but it still looked okay with the bark and stuff. Grabbing a few leaves, they placed them in the basket.
To test it out, the adult rats climbed in and Santiago carried them back to Tori's den smiling as he ducked his head down and brought the basket it, the handle in his teeth. Setting it down and looking at Tori sheepishly, he said, "Will this work?"

 He gave a snort as she bound off then looked down at his coat of fur. Sure he didn't blend in well but neither did she.
For several moments he pondered to follow her or not his tail flicking back and forth in mild annoyance.
This female had ditched him.. It had been some time since a female had ditched him.
Finally with yet another snort he turned to leave only to bump right into Kico.

"Wow!" Tori nearly jumped to her feet. [color-orange]"Where on EARTH did you find one of those Baskets?" She wagged her tail, looking up at him as she checked on the little ones before she stood. Santiago was amazing!
The skunks had stopped, all crowding hte basket interested as they wagged their own tails, only to be joined by the Coyote pup Starchaser. They 'ooh'd and 'aah'd, and laughed as they poked the sides softly. This was awesome.
Lilani watched the male scurry off. He wasnt as curious as she thought. Oh well. With a flick of her tail she was off again, bounding for her den. "Hitori! I'm back. The male didnt bother to keep my attention for to long. He seemed irrate. Oh hello everyone!" She gave a small wave, her tail curling up around her in embarassment. "I guess Spec isnt back yet either.. "

Santiago smiled and replied, "The rats and I made it for you so you could carry Gwen, and maybe the other babies could hitch a ride as well." The rats smiled cheekily and Anna added, "It was Santiago's idea though" Santiago smiled sheepishly and avoided Tori's gaze.
A second later, a gasp could be heard from Silver, who turned to the others and said, "Is is just me, or are Gwen and Munchkin sisters?" Rafe turned and nodded, confirming that he felt the same way as his mate. Anna was the one that found Munchkin all on her own in an abandoned nest, where it looked like other babies had been. Was she the last baby there? Santiago pricked his ears up and cocked his head to the side, trying to figure out what just happened.

"I've seen stranger things."Tori smiled at the comment of Munchkin and Gwen being related. they were awefully vibrant, and when Tori had returned from the last gatherings of Merritime, the little rat had been sound asleep, no indication of being anything but meany to be there. She wagged her tail and looked up. "It will be time they began to grow a bit... times are mad." She then walked to Santiago, softly nuzzleing his neck. "Thank you for the basket Santiago."
"AWE!"The skunks and hte ringtailed cat had all chimed in, the coyote giggleing to herself. They were so melo-dramatic!
"E-erm.. Are we.. ready to go? Im sure that Rein and Spec can find us."

Santiago smiled, electricity going through his body with Tori's touch. Smiling at her, he nodded as his response and looked at Silver, who picked up a few babies and placed them in the basket. Walking back, she grabbed the other two sisters, and placed them in there too, a peculiar look on her face. Cleaning her face a little, she, and the rest of the rats nodded, answering Tori's question. Santiago took a place beside Tori. He heard something about two others, Spec and Rein. Who were they? He supposed he would find out.
After leaving the den, and walking down the beaten path towards the beach, Santiago felt a little more relaxed and looked over at Tori, smiling. Suddenly, he heard a rustle of something large in the bush, and immediately herded the rats to stay behind him as he stood facing the sound, waiting for something to come out. If he had to, he'd protect the whole group.

As the trees rustled, a large black mass with rainbow colors, along with a rather speckled fox came from teh brush. The fox had a large bag in her mouth as the Tanuki spoke. "Oh... Sorry Hitori, we were erm.. a bit late.""Mphmmm!"the fox agreed, wagging her tail.
Tori chuckled, placing the basket down slowly as she looked to the group. "Its alright, Friends this is Spectrum and Reinbow. Spec, Rein, these are our friends. We can get introductions done at the beach i believe, the suns starting to set already."
The Ringtail leapt onto Toris back, the skunks following in toe as the Coyote pranced gracefully behind them. She would be a pretty girl if she grew up.
"Ah, alright. Lets get going then!" The tanuki laughed, jumping and playfully swatting the speckle-foxes nose. "I'll race you."
"yeph righ!"The fox laughed, running off.

When the two creatures came out and spoke to Tori, Santiago's guard went down. Apparently they were friends. Lowering his tail and giving the nod to the rats that it was safe, the continued to move, watching the two others race off. Laughing a little, Santiago wondered where they got all the energy.
A little later, they made it to the beach, right as the sun was along the horizon, turning the sky into a cascade of pinks, oranges, and purples. Sighing at the sight, Anna climbed up on Santiago's back and stared. Sunsets were hardly as beautiful. "You think Naenia and Aiden would like to see this sometime?" she asked. Looking at the others, she smiled as they nodded.

Tori and the group continued onwards, pausing only to set themselves up. She sat back on her haunches, looking out into the water as it turned a soft cream color in the sunlight. She wagged her tail, putting her basket down as she checked on the little ones, Lilani balanced on her head.
The skunks sat beside eachother, all in a row as they smiled and cheered for the sunset. They were never going to be calm.
An exhausted pair lay on the beach already, Spectrum and Reinbow were worn out. Running as fast as they could.. was really a bad idea. Starchaser creapt closer, poking htem with her paw.

The rats giggled at the two exhausted animals laying on the beach. Santiago smirked and sauntered over to Tori, laying down beside her. "I'll have to bring the rest of the brood here when we go back home. Would you like to meet them all?" Smiling at her, he couldn't help but admire the sunlight hitting her fur. Snapping out of it, he waited for an answer and laughed a little at Lilani, who almost fell of Tori.
The rats were wrestling in the sand, and Munchkin and Gwen were now sniffing each other, sure that they were related.

"Meeting them would be lovely. You've seen my troupe." She chuckled. I would love to meet the rest of your family." Tori lay down and steadied herself as Lilani leapt from her back and looked into the basket. "So cute~" She chimed.
The rest of the group was slowly making their way to the shore, the skunks sipping the bubbly water. "WOW! ITS SO SWEET! LIKE GRAPES!""YEA! ITS ALL FIZZY GRAPES!"
