Iwasaki Family

Not a true clan, the bloodline of the Iwasaki’s has survived in bits and pieces over the ages in its members by the simple reason that it’s carriers are less inclined to exert themselves on the battlefield (If they enter it at all), therefore increasing their likelihood of survival, and successful reproduction.

Their kekkei genkai, or innate ability is the taijutsu style of Nemuiken, or the sleepy fist, which is only activated when the user is asleep, or unconscious, i.e. only semi aware of the outside environment. It was created long ago by a forgotten ancestor, when the first true bloodline abilities began to emerge granting special or in some cases almost mystical power, solely to defend against these unbelievably gifted clans. unlike other ‘unusual’ taijutsu styles such as the Suiken or drunken fist, which relies on the user making quick, seemingly random feints at the opponent, and is easily broken, the Nemuiken creates a single focus for the user, as their functioning mind is fixed on one purpose only, allowing them great accuracy which they use to drive their powerful attacks.

It is difficult to break, as at higher levels users may become unaware of any damage that they are taking, and continue to fight to the death, never to awaken, which is a risk that every user of the Nemuiken must commit themselves to, or face waking due to a lack of resolve at a crucial moment in battle. Because of the depth of their mediation, they may become resistant to genjutsu techniques that are aimed to distract or create false images.

Users aim to disable their opponent quickly, through the breaking of bones or rendering them unconscious, before the user wakes up and becomes more vulnerable to counter-attack.

Alongside the physical art, an optional genjutu has been perfected over the years by the clan, which makes use of the dreamlike state of the user’s mind, at first creating simple, easily dispersible illusions, but later enabling the user to sedate enemies or even drag them into unconsciousness. This Genjutsu is known as Akumu-me or Nightmare Eye.

Nemuiken

E-Rank
User is able to utilize the Nemuiken fighting style for the first time, but their movements lack the accuracy of later stages, and so at this stage, their punches are nicknamed Suru-Keiren (Napping spasms). The user will awaken on moderate pain. While in this stance the user gains a light resistance to pain .

Techniques you can learn:
Neru-Keiren [E-Rank]
Known as Neru-Keiren (Sleeping spasms), the attacks at this level will subconscious home in on and aim for weaker joints such as the wrists or the intercostals muscles. Only one opponent is targeted


D-Rank
At this point in the training the user is raised to a higher level of consciousness, making them awaken more easily, so that they may flee battle. (This is often referred to as Karui-Keiren by practitioners). At this point the user aims to stun rather than shatter.

Techniques you can learn:
Omoi-Keiren [D-Rank]
At a high risk of failure (Without taking into consideration the actions of the opponent), and a heavy sprain to the utilized limb, the user may aim an Omoi-Keiren (Heavy Spasm) kick or punch at their opponent, which has a greatly increased chance of breaking a bone.


C-Rank
At this point in their training the user becomes faster, and more ruthless, bearing less of a mind to the consequences of their actions to their own bodies. This is often called the Shizumu-Keiren or “the sinking spasm” by those who are knowledgeable about such things. Due to the depth of their meditation, they gain a decent resistance to pain, and a resistance to some of the most basic of genjutsu as they tend to mistake them as part of their dream.

B-Rank
When the user reaches this point in their training it is often refereed to as Yume-Keiren, or “the dreaming spasm”. A user at this level is said to be able to take on multiple opponents at once. Their dreamlike state can allow them to ignore a great deal of pain and most genin level illusions simply vanish into their dreams.


Techniques you can learn:
Dai-Keiren [B-Rank]
At a higher Chakra cost that that of Omoi-Keiren, the user may lash out dealing crippling damage to any bone it strikes- leaving it limp and useless from fractures!

A-Rank
Called Fukai-Keiren or “deep spasm”- the user is now unable to awaken for a long time and will continue to fight to the death if their opponent’s attacks do not cease. In this state, the user may utilize any other Taijtsu techniques that they have learned, that would normally only be accessible to them outside of Nemuiken.

Technique you can learn:
Muri-Keiren [A-Rank]
The Muri-Keiren, or the excessive spasm is a variant of the Omoi-Keiren, perfected such that its usage is highly dangerous to the user, much as the first stages of the Omoi-ken. The user, being unable to awaken simply due to harm, will channel this pain into frenzy, focusing strike after strike on a single opponent, ignoring most any resistance or defensive technique.


Akumu-me

Anji Reiki (Hinting Aura) – Any opponent coming into close proximity will lose some focus, making it hard to cast recently acquired higher level jutsus. C rank.

Marumeru-me (Rolling eye) – Images from the user’s sub-conscious spill out into the outside world. The user has no control over their content, and some may be helpful, or even detrimental to the team. C rank.

Hikaru Reiki (Flickering Aura) – The user gains control over the illusions of the rolling eye. Deep meditation must be undertaken before battle in order to strengthen this control, however. Depending on how taken in a foe is by these illusions, they may or may not be numbed or even dragged into unconsciousness. B rank.

Bookyaku Reiki (Oblivion Aura) – An A rank technique, it links with the Muri-Keiren as with every further hit the user is dragged further and further into the illusions of Marumeru, until they become indistinguishable from reality. S rank.

~Senju Clan~

Description: The Senju clan gained their fame in the era before the founding of the hidden villages. Where other clans focused on mastering one particular skill, the Senju were masters in all skills, from ninjutsu, to taijutsu, to genjutsu. Because of this, they were feared as "the clan with a thousand skills" (「千の手を持つ一族」, "sen no te o motsu ichizoku"), which gave them their name Senju (千手, "a thousand skills", "a thousand hands").


Senju are able to learn things as a Genius type without ever increasing the word count required. (Normally learning techniques beyond your rank results in much higher word counts!) As an advanced element you have aces to the "Wood Style" if your elements are Water and Earth.

The Senju are the heart of the Leaf Village and as such they hail from there. (You'd have to have a VERY good reason as to why one's NOT in the Leaf Village)

(You may decide NOT to take the effect listed above if you have a more interesting one that fits your character as the Senju are a varied group as a rule.)

Kekkai Genkai
The Crystal Release (晶遁, Shōton; English TV "Crystal Style") is a rare and specialized field of elemental Ninjutsu that can create crystal as well as manipulate already-existing crystals and crystalline structures. It is seen only in the anime, and its only known user is Guren. Additionally, due to Guren's crystal dragons being shattered by Kakashi's Lightning Cutter and Kiba having mistaken the actual element for an Earth Release technique, it is strongly believed Earth is one of the elements needed to create crystals.

According to rumors that Tsunade had heard, Crystal Release can crystallize any substance, thus, Earth, Water, and Wood Release techniques are useless against it. Using Crystal ninjutsu, the user can crystallize any physical material and even the moisture that is present in the air around them, turning them into a weapon. In the case of human targets, Crystal Release can solidify its targets down to the cellular level, imprisoning and even killing the victim should the crystal ever be struck, reducing the mass of crystal and the victim down to crystalline dust.

The only apparent weakness of the Crystal Release is that it cannot crystallize either raw energy or chakra as they have no physical mass to crystallize, allowing a person with either energy-based jutsu, such Wind, Fire and Lightning Releases, or good chakra control to properly counter it. Crystal Release is also susceptible to a specific sound wave frequency; because crystal requires a very precise build-up of molecules, the proper sound waves can break down the build-up before the crystal can properly form. Rinji, taking advantage of this weakness, used his Ninja-Bats to counter Guren's Crystal Release.
