Lore looked thoughtful at that, "There's a good chance they will be, this sailing trip should take a few years yet."
Especially since they were exploring and if they found a place it meant they would stay there for a while. With the amount of things that Shiro took with him, he was sure of it.
"That's alright, even if it's a small job it's helping," Cindy assured him, "If you would like to try and help make something sometime."
Though she wasn't sure what he could do, she was sure she could find something small or better suited for him.

"Well, we hope they'll be home in good time," Adonai murmured, "but we can understand ... we don't know how much there is out there to see, or if there are other people out there ... any of that. And I know Earendil is supposed to map any islands or other lands that they might come across, so ..."
Shael put one hand on her husband's shoulder. "We trust that they will all return safely," she said firmly, "no matter how long it takes."
Vergil nodded at Cindy. "I think I'd like to try it ... I don't know if I would be any good ... but maybe someday I can find something that I am good at? I would feel better then, I think."

Lore nodded, he was sure that they would be fine otherwise he wouldn't have agreed to have Shiro, Kaito, Ura, Storm and Starr go along, especially Storm and Starr.
"Well," he murmured before getting up, "I should get back to the library."
Hopefully too little time had passed for anything to have blown up or otherwise.
"I'm sure you'll find something you're good at," Cindy assured him, "You're young yet."

"Well," Adonai smiled, rising from his seat as well, "we're glad that you took the time to visit us as long as you did. It's always good to see all of you. You don't need a reason to visit us, just drop in any time. Really."
"Yes," Shael agreed warmly. "Even if you just stop in with the family for an afternoon or something. We would love it."
Vergil pursed his lips thoughtfully and nodded slowly. "I guess," he murmured. "But I've never done anything before except fight ... but the giant says that I shouldn't fight all the time, or use my sword so much ..."
He pointed at Lore, since Lore hadn't introduced himself.

"I'll keep that in mind," Lore replied, "I'll see you all again."
He chuckled a bit when he noticed Vergil pointing at him and could only imagine what Vergil was telling Cindy.
"Bye," he waved to Cindy and Vergil.
Cindy giggled at that, "Yes well there's a time and place for everything, and fighting all the time wouldn't be good."
She looked up at Lore and smiled waving back at him.
"See you later Lore."

"Bye, Giant!" Vergil waved back at Lore as he headed out. "Thank you!"
Adonai and Shael chuckled and waved at Lore as well. "Safe trip," Shael called.
Once Lore was gone, Vergil looked up at Cindy. "Now what?"

Cindy looked down at Vergil her mind running a mile a minute as she tried ot figure out what needed to be done. There was a lot that needed to be done to be honest.
"Well... first I guess to show you where I'm sleeping, we'll have to figure out sleeping arrangements and such, and then I guess go over to the Ranch and see if those forks and knives are still there...."
Since Ulrich was the one who made them and he and Ulani wouldn't be back for a long while.

"You go ahead, Cindy," Shael told her, "I'll take care of cleaning up here. You just do whatever needs to be done."
"If you need," Adonai offered, "I can clear out the spare room tonight or tomorrow, and we can convert that into a room for the boy." He smiled at Vergil. "What's your name?"
The boy grinned up at Adonai. "I'm Vergil!" he replied cheerfully. "And this-" he pulled out his sword and lay it on the table "-is Yamato. And this is my mother!" He beamed up at Cindy happily.

Cindy smiled at that, "Thank you Adonai, that would be wonderful."
She could probably have Vergil with her for a while, but it would be good for him to have his own room. Now that lunch was done she picked Vergil up to cradle him as she rose from her seat.
"Then I'll head over to the Ranch and talk to Elrohir...."
Cindy wondered if maybe she should visit Celebor and his family as well.

It was a kind of a strange feeling for Vergil to be carried everywhere they went. He had always been active, and he was used to going everywhere on his own, doing everything by himself ... but it was a feeling that he could get used to. It made him feel like these people really cared about him.
"Mother," he said, looking up at her, "what's a ranch?"

"Well... a ranch is a place where they raise a particular type of animal, in this case they raise horses."
She didn't feel the need to tell him that it was also a place to stop slavery, not when there was a chance it could be banished once and for all within the next year or two... or three. Cindy didn't know how long it would take, but she was sure it would happen.

Vergil blinked at Cindy. "Horses?" he repeated. "What are horses?"
Having only experienced the Seconds World, he didn't know about most things - he had never seen anyone there besides his brother and the demons that they had, for a while, hunted together.

"Well....."
Cindy wondered how she should describe them, she took the idea of horses for granted.
"They're tall four legged creatures, with a long mane and tail and people ride them to get to other places quicker.... though I think the best way is to show you. I can show you but I have to hold you, they're large and can get skittish."
And the last thing anyone wanted was to get trampled by one.

"Skittish like in scared?" Vergil looked up at Cindy curiously. "But ... if they're big ... why do they get scared? I always thought big things didn't have to worry about that, because they're big ..."
Though by that theory he should be afraid of most things since he was little ... but he had no fear at all. At least not that he knew of.
Except one. The fear of being left alone. Abandoned. Yet again.

"Horses get nervous very easily," Cindy explained, "They can get spooked, it's just the way they are. I guess... it's their nerves."
She smiled a bit as she looked ahead to the path that was being taken after all these decades of people walking to and from the Ranch had created a well worn path.
"Even big creatures can be scared."
