"Tackle!" The kid shouted as the Squirtle continued to retaliate.

"Tackle again!"

"Again!"

"Tackle!"

"Tackle it Bulbasaur!"

The Bulbasaur continued do as it was told... although the Pokemon itself was getting weary of this constant bashing of his head against a hard turtle shell and getting attacked by it too.

But the boy was persistent and kept calling out "Tackle!" After all... the only other move it knew didn't have any attack power... and what good was that?! Seriously!

After another Tackle the Bulbasaur stumbled, dazed and obviously getting weak.

Roar could see that, and he could also tell Tempest was getting tired as well, but they were too close to give up. The Bulbasaur was weak and probably frustrated with its rookie trainer - this was it. "Tempest, Tail Whip!" he commanded, and Tempest's beak turned up in a grin as he did as he was told. "Now, Tackle again!"

Requiem Youkai

While the girl was distracted attempting to pick up the squirming Pichu, Lotte turned her eyes on her real target that day: the Squirtle. Lotte snuck up behind the girl and two Pokemon and took out her secret weapon. She'd been saving it for something like this.

Faster than you could say, well, just about anything, Lotte whipped out something from her Trainer's belt and shouted, "Go, dark ball!" And before the Squirtle -- or the small child for that matter -- realized what had just happened, Raishiro wiggled out of the child's grasp and darted off into the brush with Lotte right behind him, clutching her prize: a Dark Squirtle.

Lotte ran as fast as she could from the beach and the little girl. Not because she didn't want to get caught, but because she didn't want to hear the small girl's whimpers, and eventually, tears. That would definitely have triggered memories Lotte would love to have forgotten all about.

Checking her Poketch, Lotte saw that she had about an hour left before she'd get left behind. She quickly put her hair up in a messy bun and redid her headband. She put her glasses back on and took her sweatshirt off. There. Now she wouldn't be recognized if someone found her. As Lotte sat down on the ground next to an old oak tree, she sighed and palmed her first stolen Pokemon's pokeball. "Well, Shiro, like they say, there's no rest for the weary. Let's head back to see what Seth has to say about this, kay?" Raishiro let out a tiny pi! and nodded his head. Back in his Pokeball he went, and Lotte set off back towards where she'd started out earlier that day.

[OOC Note: Let me know if you want me to change this. I wrote it based on the assumption that the dark ball would work, obviously. xD;;]

Before the girl knew what had happened... her Squirtle was sucked away into the inky blackness of a dark ball and the Pichu had run away with its trainer.

The little girl was left stunned for a moment, until it suddenly sunk in.

Try as she might... Lotte wouldn't be able to block out the girl's wailing cries as it carried on the ocean breeze.

"SQUIRTY! Give me back my Squirty!"

The little girl was left on her knees with her fists digging into her eyes and bawling.

The girl grimaced as she walked back over to Seth, a look of frustration and annoyance on her face. Things had not gone as she had planned. Not at all. There she was in the beginning, expecting to be the one to come back victorious, only to be the first to return empty-handed. Ohhhh, karma was a b***h. Or perhaps the universe was out to get her? Whatever. Things were not playing in her favor today, that was for sure.

"Don't even bother starting to yell at me just yet," Suchi found herself grumbling as she took out one of her two pokeballs. Elior was released again and in the grunt's arms before she continued on. The poor Pichu. He was shaking from fright and exhaustion, and seemed to be on the verge of tears again. Real tears this time. "I tried to get you a pokemon," she said, pointing off into the direction where her battle was, "I tried my best and did exactly what you and the others taught me. Do you know what I was up against?! A Charizard! A freakin' Charizard, and a high level one at that. There was no way I could have stolen a pokemon from that girl, so before you blew your head off at me, I just wanted you to know that..." The expression on Suchi's face then changed after that going from frustration and annoyance to a look of tiredness and disappointed.

As upset as she was over the fact that she had gone up against an experienced trainer, one thought couldn't leave her mind: she had let not only Seth, but Team Rocket down.

User Image

Seth was leaning against a palm tree when he saw Suchi coming. He looked at his watch then back up at her. "Back so soon?" he asked in a demeaning tone.

However, he went silent and cocked a brow as she rambled on about her situation.

The elite folded his arms, his expression most serious and his gaze incriminating. "Excuses are not going to cut it for Team Rocket. It sounds to me you may just not have what it takes. Despite what you think, there is always a way."

The girl clad in purple had been silent the entire time that Seth had spoken, not really worried about the mission at hand. She was a Grunt, and had been training for awhile now to get this chance. In her mind, she was ready, and that was all that mattered. As long as she mentally was prepared, she knew she would come out on top and please the supervisors that mattered.

It was her sister that she was worried about.

For some reason, which wasn't too hard to figure out when it came to twins, her sister had discovered and joined her in Team Rocket. It wasn't that made, Nadali figured after a lot of thought, but still she had reservations. And they came true as she watched her sister face off against the strong trainer, and run off with nothing in return. Resisting the call to go and help her sister, she watched and waited, before letting the girl return to Seth and face the music.

Now, it was Nadali's turn to try and win some pokemon. While what little morals she had cried out that this was wrong to swipe creatures from children, in her mind she realized that not all were innocent and unable to fight back. Instead, they were another challenge she would face today, and by her side were an arsenal of partners who would help her win.

Yes, today would be a good day, and she would do what her sister could not. At least, Nadali hoped that would be true as she looked around for an unsuspecting trainer to steal a pokemon from.

"I am not making up excuses," the Grunt found herself snapping. Great. She was suddenly irritable all over again now. It was funny how fast a few words could change a person's mood. "There would have been no way for me to get that Charizard - not without one of my pokemon getting hurt." Suchi grimaced at Seth. Saying she didn't have what it takes was just like him. He would say that, and it didn't help matters one bit.

She screwed up; so what?! Everyone made mistakes, even he did. Making mistakes was how people learned. How did Seth expect the members of Team Rocket to learn anything without stumbling a few times. No one was perfect. Not even him. This was ridiculous. The whole situation was ridiculous. As the emotions built up inside of her, Suchi could feel her head starting to spin. Uggh! Why did things have to turn out this way?

As Lotte got up from the ground, she heard the small child's frantic words. She froze, completely unable to move, while all those horrible memories from long, long ago came flooding back in a typhoon of sorrow and pain. Lotte could hear the tiny sobs that reminded her so much of her own, and in that instant, her heart broke. Again. She knew what she had to do.

Lotte jogged back to the beach, the soft sobs getting louder as she approached. While still staying out of sight, Lotte opened the dark ball and released the Squirtle. Hopefully the few minutes Squirty had spent in there wouldn't have any lasting damage. Lotte gave Squirty a gentle nudge towards the crying child and watched as the two were reunited again.

Lotte frowned, even though she knew stealing Pokemon was wrong, she had done it anyway. Lotte hated herself for this until this thought hit her: this little girl would treasure her dear Squirty even more now, because of a few minutes of separation. That one thought made Lotte feel a little better about what she had done.

Lotte sighed and figured she'd just use a regular Pokeball to catch a wild Pokemon by the side of the road. No one would know the difference, right? But, at that point, hearing the gleeful squeals and giggles of Squirty and the little girl, Lotte really didn't care.

Agent panther shoved his hand deep into his pockets and sighed. some of the other rockets had already raced a head with out thinking, race to find pokemon to steal. He was indeed, just a trainee, but he was several years older then the rest of the crew. He was now 25, and was getting old for a trainee not that several years of working as a grunt didn't pay off. He walked along the side of the road, but not one it, so he could observe trainer's coming before they could see him. He would make this snatch as quick as possible, using his old, if stuborn, friend.

Just down the street from Nadali there looked to be a guy in glasses hovering over his labtop as he typed away while sitting on a roadside bench. He didn't much look like a trainer... but then appearances could be deceiving.

Now Seth leveled a glare on Suchi as she continued to whine about how it was not her fault.

"Do I look like someone who cares?! They are excuses whether you are making them up or not!" he snapped. "Did you even stop to consider that a trainer with that powerful of a Charizard could have other Pokemon on her?"

He then looked at the Pokemon that she had released. "Your Pokemon barely even have a scratch on them. It looks to me that you turned tail and ran far too soon! If you expect to be a decent member in this organization then you need to explore all your options!"

The Elite snorted in disgust, clearly disappointed in not only the fact that Suchi failed... but quite miserably to boot. Failure was not tolerated, and certainly not for the reasons she gave. She clearly did not try hard enough.

"C'mon Bulbasaur, tackle it again!" the boy shouted... only to realize that his Pokemon wasn't moving.

"Huh? Bulbasaur are you okay?"

The Pokemon just sat there on its side, eyes swirling in a dazed expression and its mouth open slightly and drooling. The Bulbasaur had fainted.

"Aw man!"

The girl kept crying until Lotte returned, and turned her tear stained face up towards the lady that had tricked her. She sniffled and wiped her nose, watching as she released the Squirtle again.

However, things were not so easily fixed, because the effects of a dark ball are instantaneous.

The Squirtle appeared, but darker in color and snarling angrily at both its captor and the girl who had been its friend.

The girl screamed in fright. That wasn't her Squirty! She got up and quickly ran away screaming and crying still. "MOMMY!"

Panther would see some boys dressed in green not far from him. The group of kids were busily chatting about Pokemon and exchanging Pokeballs in what appeared to be Pokemon trading.

Apparently pleased with what he had gotten, the boy clutched his Pokeball and headed down the street in Panther's direction.

She wanted to yell. Suchi wanted to scream in Seth's face and give him a good kick where it hurt the most, but she refrained from all of that. There was no point now. Besides, he was right. She had left too soon. She turn away and ran before her pokemon could take any damage whatsoever, just so she could keep them from getting hurt. Well, whatever. What was done was done. It didn't matter anymore. She would just have to pick herself up and try again another time.

In defeat, Suchi sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "...Guess you're right. I'm sorry," she muttered, "it won't happen again."

Just as Suchi had got done admitting her defeat, another Rocket member incognito had made her appearance. She was rather short for her age, standing at around 5'1 in height or so. A serious expression was plastered on her face, and if that wasn't enough to make her stand out, then her persimmon orange hair surely would be. It was tied up in a ponytail, and to give her appearance even more of a kick, the girl had tied a blue scarf up in her hair. Her arms folded across her chest as she listened to Suchi go on and on.

Pathetic - that was what the whining girl was. Absolutely pathetic.

It was with that that Bonnie had arrived. Unlike the other girl who seemed to talk way more than she needed to, Bonnie just gave Seth a curt nod of her head. She was a Rocket of few words, only speaking if she absolutely had to. Clearly, by the looks of things, Seth wasn't having any luck by getting any pokemon so far. Perhaps she could be of some service to him in helping to steal a few? One could only hope, at least. Staying at Headquarters was getting annoying, so a mission was exactly what the intelligence collector needed. Stealing a pokemon or two would give her some time to stretch her legs.

Blinking in barely veiled surprise, Sierra aimed her ice blue eyes over her shoulder...then down at the child. So much for not looking like an oblivious trainee. At least it was only a child, which helped her to regain some sense of composure.

"Eh? Err...oh, is it that time of year again? Time for fund-raising?" She smiled disarmingly, eyes cast over the little girl quickly. Was she a trainer of any type? Or just another Eevee Scout? Though, if she were out here on her own, she'd need some sort of protection, right? Or adult supervision? Perhaps she was over-thinking this completely, considering this wasn't exactly the most frightening part of town.

Overhead, Celeste had noted her human crossing paths with another. With a subtle shift of her wings' angle, she wheeled about, staying close and keeping an eye on Sierra while waiting to see how the situation would play out.

"I suppose it depends, she continued, trying not to look suspicious while having no inclination whatsoever of actually buying cookies. "What kinds are in stock this season?"

User Image

The Eevee Scout pointed to a stand not far away where she was making her sales.

"Well we have Peanut Butter Pichus, Sugar Eevees, Scrumptious Skittys, Caramel Clefairys, and Minty Meowths!"

Among all her many badges though, a Pokeball could be seen on her green belt.

Of course he was right, and Seth looked somewhat appeased when Suchi finally admitted to her mistake. "We'll see about that."
That being Seth's way of admitting he would let Suchi have another chance at proving herself in the future. She wasn't kicked out yet, but she was on thin ice.

When the red haired girl showed up and nodded curtly, Seth frowned. "You're late," he noted sharply.
