Actually... this was supposed to be something friendly... sweatdrop
You didn't have to put down what you didn't want other people to know, hence the statement in the first post. sweatdrop

Anyway, welcome to EVAS. Hope you have fun here. blaugh

Heh, I know. Whenever I join something, I like to make a big deal about the introduction, as if it was offensive or something. I've done that as long as I can remember.

I hope to have fun here as well.

...o.o;
Heh heh, we just made the introductory form as a form of an ice-breaker, if nothing else.

I'm sorry if you felt required to post it.

Oh hey guys. : D

I seen NamaeX posting around the Gaia anime forums and saw the link in his signature and checked it out, suprised to find a dub support group in such a place, somewhere where people actually think the English translation of an anime is GOOD. <3 you guys for existing.

Just thought this was a cute style to try out. Anyway on to the intro. *bows*

Name: Elizabeth (Dark, or DSM if you please. ^_^) Happy to make your aquainteces.

Age: 26, I think I'm the second eldest here, which really is no suprise. *sweatdrops* I've discovered that most fans of dubs I meet tend to be younger then me.

Gender: Female.

Location: Chicago, IL (Same as the Manga that's supposed to be based on the name. Althought it seems to have nothing to do with the city, which is kinda funny.)

What interested you into joining: Warning, Slightly lenghthy here.
I guess what caught my attention was the fact that there was a group and people actually defending the idea of Dubs. Naturally my radar went off and I bee lined here to see what it was about. I'm actually glad I got in because I've become swamped with, forgive me, 'idiots' that don't seem to understand the concept of how long or hard it is to make a dub. They assume that it's made the same way that the Japanese make it, which is in ensamble, as a group in the studio the same way that Disney does most of their cartoons, and how the DC Animated sereis were made, and the actors sit there and play off one another. This is not the case with the dub and trying to emote while getting the lip movements, and keeping it so that the message is not lost, is a rather hard chore.

So I'm very glad to find this group. Also I really respect voice actors in general as they have one of the hardest if the least rewarding jobs right now in Hollywood. The fact is that, for example, most people now only know about say Peter Cullen because he did Optimus Prime on the big screen. Actors like Scott McNeil, or Yuri Lowell don't really get the same press due to the fact that most do not take the time, in an animated movie unless it's a "Big name" to look and see who did the voices. And most of the time it's these actors, not the larger names, who are the most impressive. A lot of movie actors have said that Voice Acting is tougher then movie acting becuase you can only use your voice to convay what you want, and you have to use your imagination in order to get a scene right.

Er...I hope I didn't go on too long. sweatdrop

Which anime/manga titles would you like to see dubbed/animated: Easy one's for me. Skip Beat, hands down becuase it's a great story and the art is very interesting. The story of Saiunkoku Monogatari, which had been taken by Geneon, but now it's up for grabs. Grrrr. Kyo kara Maoh, someone had better finish that series or I'm going to be spitting bullets. It was a great series. Drama con, needs to get it's own series as do a number of English Manga's made here and others from all over the world. The Dreaming is another.

Age: 18. Lulz, I know, I'm old.
Gender: I be a girl.
Location: Vegas. Yes, really.
What interested you into joining: For far too long I've seen people bashing dubs and voice actors alike, this should be a nice little respite from all the insanity.
Which anime/manga titles would you like to see dubbed/animated: Hm...I want to say Sukisho, but only if they could make me love the English voices as much as the Japanese ones. Oh, and ARIA the Natural would be nice, too. Oh, and Yotsuba&! These are all love. <3

Name: Marx (I guess... you can call me Eric if you want... since that's my real first name...)
Age: 19
Gender: male
Location: Illinois, Chicago suburubs (yes, Zen and I know each other... we've been going to the same school since eighth grade, I think. Right Zen?)
What interested you into joining: Well, Zen sent me an invite, and I thought it might be a good idea to join because while I'm not always in support of dubbing, I am against fansubs and I do support dubs when they are done properly. 4kids aside, I will admit to having seen some pretty terrible dubs of otherwise good OVAs.
Which anime/manga titles would you like to see dubbed/animated: Well, I can't wait for D. Gray-Man to come out in the US, and I would like to see Seed Astray dubbed (sorry if I seem like I'm stealing one of yours, Zen, but that manga was just kickass)

By the way, Zen, your sig is awesome... Could you possibly send me a URL for the animation? (the Die Fangirl Die one)
