Lenore hunched her shoulders guiltily and nibbled her lip again. Standing and putting an ear to the door, trying to listen if Clematis had gone on a brain-eating rampage, she looked at him out of the corner of her eye.

Way to go, pigeon-brain, she scolded herself, embarrassed at her bratty behavior.

Feeling completely out of place and disgusted with herself, Crow cleared her throat awkwardly.

"Well, I guess I should, just, y'know...go somewhere....else." She said uncomfortably, though she made no move to leave.

Ye gods, but I hate awkward social situations!

Fidgeting in sudden anxious discomfort, she edged a little closer to Clematis, just to do something.

"There's no need, I'm better now" Jabir got up, still trembling a bit "I... I only lost control for a moment"

"You sure? Maybe you should go to your room and rest"

"Yes, I'm pretty sure. I'm not a kid anymore, I'm old enough to control myself" he was snaping more to himself than to Maggie. He hated himself right now

He went over to Clematis again, this time keeping a good distance between each other "It's not you fault, I'm the one to blaim" he sighed and placed his hand over her eyes "I can't cure your sight, but I can restore part of it. You will only see shapes and shadows. Is it ok with you?"

Rabid moved up behind Crow, watching closely. Sure, he said he was fine, but since when could males be trusted to tell the truth?

Ike moved beside Lenore and pressed his ears to the door.

"Uh-huh," Clematis nodded slightly. Now she wouldn't have to see herself!

"She's talking!"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 11, 2005 7:23 am

"Holy crud, she is!"

Lenore pushed the door open ever so slightly so that they could have a view to go with the sounds, her guilty shame forgotten.

"Maybe she can tell 'em where she came from, now!"

And maybe she'll be non-homicidal enough to be friends with, she thought, slightly surprised with herself hoping Clemmie would be.

Hovering protectively over Rabid in unconcious apology for her previous thoughts, Crow watched Clematis and Jabir cautiously. She was suddenly particularly glad she hadn't let Jabir kill Yagadath and Feriska - she hadn't known his dietary habits before...

"What are we gonna do with her now?" she whispered to Rabid worriedly.

With one handover the girls eyes and the other holding firmly Maggies hands, he started the healing
This was particularly difficult, being the eye cells so sensitive and complex. One mistake could cause serious damage to the whole structure, even to cause a domino effect over the entire body

Once finished he left himself fall on the ground, his head resting 2 beds away, breathing deeply

Maggie went over Clematis and gave a quick check-up to see if everything was in order. Despite her not-so-blind eyes still looking the same the rest of her body had healed nicely

"Well I think that's all we can do for now. How are you feeling?

"I don't know," Rabid whispered back to Crow, "I guess she'll have to stay with us for a while..."

Ike slowly crept in, shifting the bag on his shoulder, "Is Clemmie kay?"

"I feel...better," Clematis sat up slowly and looked down at herself...black on grey, "Thank you." A slight smile crept up on her blackened lips and she slid to the ground, wanting more than anything to be out of the infirmary.

"Well," Rabid said, smiling, and picked Clematis up, "I...think we'd better be getting back to our rooms. I'll try and find out what we're going to have to do with Clematis later. Thanks again!" She started out the door without waiting for a reply. She wanted to get out of the room as as far away from the mildly frigntening zombie-eating Mishap as she could.

Picking up Sadako (and Skelly, since the doll refused to let the other go), Lenore trailed after Rabid and Crow as they left the infirmary. Waving meekly at Clematis, Lenore tried to ignore the involuntary shivers that ran down her spine, making her razor feathers ring and rattle.

"Uh, hi."

Crossing her arms and looking anywhere but at Rabid as she walked a bit behind her, Crow gave an uncomfortable cough.

"Well, I guess I'll just....yeah, I gotta....gotta go do somethin'. Maybe I'll see you around."

Turning and beginning to walk the other way, Crow hesitated to see if Rabid would even answer, secretly hoping she wouldn't.

"Hi," Clematis smiled slightly at the girl as she dropped to the ground. She was a bit taller, and her arms looked kind of...weirdly-formed.

"No," Rabid growled and grabbed Crow by the shoulder, ignorant to the weaponry she could hold, both natural and not. She forced the girl to turn around.

"Look at me! Listen to me! Ignoring me isn't going to help! Being a b***h isn't going to bring Julian back!" Rabid gave a frustrated cry as tears began falling, "I've been starving myself, I've felt so goddammed guilty. My best friend ignoring me doesn't help. I almost died, Crow! Fine, ignore me for the rest of your life! FINE! Just tell me that you don't hate me! Give me just one damned reason to keep living this poor excuse of a life."

Ike's eyes grew wide and frightened as he watched Mummy freak out on Miss Crow. This wasn't going to end well...

"Uh-oh."

Lenore smiled and was about to speak when Rabid burst out at Crow. Acting on instinct, she grabbed hold of Clemmie and Malachi's hands and scuttled a bit further down the hall to give them a bit of privacy, or at least clear the area if they were going to try to kill each other.

"My name's Lenore. Pleased to meet you," she said to Clematis quickly, whistling for Sadako as she fled with the two.

Sadako stood and tugged Skelly's hand, rolling her eyes.

"Angst," she said dismissively, following her mistress.

Crow was too surprised at the outburst to notice the fleeing children. So, the rumors had been true. She stared at Rabid uncertainly, trying to absorb what was being thrown at her.

"I..."

Say it.

"I..."

Say it, dammit!

"I DO hate you!"

Ah, sweet mother of Christmas, this ain't gonna end well.

Wrenching herself out of Rabid's grip, she hooked her fingers forward as though ready to slash at the other's face. Angry tears welled in her eyes, but didn't fall. She was sick of crying.

"Do you even know what you've DONE?" she screamed, her real voice ringing with fury.

"Don't you even DARE try to reason with me! I'll be a b***h if I want, and there's not a god-blessed thing you're gonna do to fix that! I watched you stab him! You killed him! And now... and now..." she took a deep breath and gave a moan of misery, drawing her claws down her face in grief. The wounds that split the flesh healed as the razor-sharp nails trailed down her face repeatedly, leaving blood-stained new skin behind.

"And it's because he was trying to help me..." she fell to her knees and slashed at her face repeatedly, trying to punish herself but failing as she kept healing.

"It's my fault! It's my fault!" she screamed.

The air around her crackled with unrestrained power, and the windows in the corridor began to rattle and crack loudly, spiderwebbing out in a thousand different directions as though something was trying to smash them.

Heedless to the damage she was causing, forgetting everything and everyone outside her misery, Crow gave a rattling sob.

Crrrrrrrrack! Crrrrrrrack!
PostPosted: Sun Dec 11, 2005 12:08 pm

"Crow?! CROW!" Rabid screeched, "IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT, CROW! CALM DOWN!" Psychokinesis. Not good.

Clemmie turned toward the 2 ladies that had found her and, seeing the hallways cracking, she gasped and raised her hands, trying to hold it together. Visible electricity soon began to leap and run over her knuckles.

"It's not your fault and the knife didn't kill him! IT WASN'T ME!" she shrieked, dropping to her knees and beginning to dig at the floor with her newly lengthened nail.

"LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM! LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEM!"

Liam, hearing the commotion, used his power to appear down in the corridor.

"Bloody Hell! Stop it! Both of you! If you want to kill each other, do it OUTSIDE!"

Stop stop stop stop stop!

She couldn't calm down - she wanted to die, it was her fault, her only brother was damned to be a slave because of her-

You're gonna kill everyone, STOP-

She couldn't stop.

Ourobat. I'm completely flawed, through and through.

KRREEEEEESH!

The windows shuddered as they splintered and broke, thousands of bits of glass exploding outwards. It had taken every bit of control she had left to direct the shards outside, and she gave an agonized gasp as a sharp pain in her head felt as though it had split her skull open. She fell forward in a dead faint, blood from the healed-up cuts on her face trickling down like tears.

Lenore gave a shriek as the windows broke, throwing herself over Malachi and the curiously electric Clemmie. Half-expecting to be impaled by the glass, she breathed hard and fast as she lifted herself up off the two, looking around anxiously.

"What the HELL just happened?!" she shrieked indignantly.

Rabid stopped suddenly and sniffed.

"Don't worry, Lenore. It's okay."

"Bloody Hell," Liam mumbled, anger etched into his face. He dug a small vial from his uniform pocket and removed the stopper with his teeth, "Na'an-gwela." He poured the liquid onto the girl that lay unconscious...Crow, from what he'd herd through the floor. He stood and tapped his foot, waiting for the blood to disappear and the girl to awaken.

"If that big blue giraffe comes out here, it's your bloody fault." He drew his arms toward himself before throwing them outward, attempting to heal the hallway. Women and their bloody hormones...

Clemmie gaped in horror, not quite understanding what was happening herself. She popped the electricity out of her knuckles absentmindedly.

"...what the...?"

Crow twitched and moaned as she stirred back to consciousness. Disoriented by the splitting pain that wracked her body as it recovered from the episode, she propped herself up on her elbows and shook her head gingerly.

"M'sorry...din't mean....t'do that...Ourobat, mef besh dai, yulleh nan." she slurred, reverting to Rijani as she tried to regain her bearings.

"Nahalthes, gadda yeh?" she asked Liam unsteadily, trying to stand and falling heavily to her knees.

Lenore watched the electricity fade in deep fascination. Brushing Clemmie off apologetically, she gave a self-conscious smile.

"Sorry I almost crushed ya - instinct," she said, folding her wings quickly from their flared out, shield-like positions and hoping she hadn't taken anyone's eye out.

Looking at Liam in interest, she pointed openly at him and turned to Malachi.

"Who's he?"
PostPosted: Sun Dec 11, 2005 12:48 pm

"Thass Leem."

Clematis gave an involuntary shudder.

"I like him."

Liam spun around, suddenly noticing Ike and...whoever those girls were.

"Hey, kids," he smiled slightly, and then turned back to Crow, "No comprendo, m'luv. Rijani, eh?"

Nahalthes...that was a name, right...?

Rabid placed a hand on Crow's shoulder out of instinct. She didn't quite understand either.

Lenore was hard pressed not to wolf-whistle at Liam as she got a good look at him. Nodding in agreement with Clemmie, she waved at him shyly.

"I'm with you on that one."

"Nnnn..."

Shaking her head again, Crow grabbed Rabid's arm and hoisted herself up, stumbling into her friend as she tried to remain upright.

"Ga'ashta mak. Der adala melsyeh- Rabid - m'sorry....I'm,....just...guilt-y...'bout....him-" she said in heavily accented, halting English. The Ourobat episode had injured her whole body, including her implanted LTJ - the English words came out with difficulty as the fried implant frantically tried to repair itself.

She gave a yelp of pain as she felt a burning sensation at her throat, and unbuttoned her shirt collar frantically. The biomechanical LTJ implant had been rejected by the healing process that was repairing her burnt vocal cords. It lay smoking slightly in her hand, and crunched as she crushed it angrily.

She shook her head in humiliation at this latest show of her flawed nature, yammering in rapid-fire Rijani and motioning helplessly to her mouth. It was no use - she didn't know English, after all.

"Leh-yahnoir," she said, blushing violently as her Rijani accent mangled Lenore's name, motioning for her to come back. Hugging Rabid quickly and turning to run in humiliation, she caught sight of Liam and blushed even brighter.

As if it wasn't bad enough showing her only friend how flawed she was. She'd had a freakin' audience.
