Marcus Natali
Marcus felt no resistance from her lips, and for that, he almost sighed in relief. At that moment, images flowed through his head. The two of them exploring the city. How she used to always be the one who would dive into something while he fretfully followed. The times she taught him how to dance like the lords and ladies of the court. Their arguments on whose discovery was better. The time her mother died. The day she had helped him open the tavern.

His heart began to almost warm his body then. As if every pore was being energized. the young mage smiled, breaking the kiss and resting his forehead against hers. His hand cradled her face. Blushing, he spoke.

" Nyx...i thought you said boys were icky." He chuckled a little.

User ImageNyx: Youngest Princess of Astra

Nyx pressed into the kiss, letting them show him how much she cared and loved him. How much he meant to her and always would mean to her. Him being her only true friend growing up and always being there for her through thick and thin was bound to bring them together in some way. Whether it was like this or just great friends through and through until they died, they would always be there for each other.

Feeling him break the kiss and cup her cheek, she smiled, it spreading across her lips slow and happy. Pressing her cheek into his hand, she opened her eyes to look, as well as can be done in the darkness of the sewers, into his eyes. He was so gentle and loving. She wondered how she had missed it until now.

Gasping in laughter as she heard his question, she jerked in surprise and gasped as her leg tensed. Finishing the laugh, she shook her head. "Boys are icky... but you aren't a boy anymore, you're a man," she said softly.

Marcus Natali
Marcus blushed at her words. Still, he smiled. " Well, you are an amazing woman.." He said softly, his thumb trailing against her cheek. She meant the world to him. And for that he was grateful. He would always be by her side, no matter what happened. He chuckled slightly. What a time for this to happen now. But, the gods often had a funny way of bringing this sort of thing out in the most unexpected of times.

" I'll always be here Night. I..I love you." He told her truthfully.

Zellana walked all the way home in a sour mood, she had not been able to get her brother to see things her way, and that meant that next time they met they might have to cross blades. Even if it was her brother she wouldn't, couldn't, hold back. Something about fighting lit her spirit, giving her a tunnel vision with victory the only possible end. She shook her head and continued down the road.
Zellana got home and walked inside. Her arm was wrapped tightly, however it was more than opperational. She was fit for duty and that was exactly what she needed to get her mind off of things. Zell bounded up the grand staircase and into her room. She hopped a few times to get the blood flowing and also hoping it would be a catalyst for thoughts other than what might befall her brother. Stupid kid, all he had to do was join... come to think of it he could have joined and still did what he did, there are no end to the amount of crooked guards on the force... What am I saying? Zellana grabbed Stife, broke it down into its six blades, placed them into their loops and also strapped on her armour. She slipped into her greaves and strapped on her left guantlet only, seeing as her right was torn to pieces by Sabine. Zell stood up and tucked her diary into a small safe that she often did not use. She also tucked her jewelry box and personal diary in there too. I won't have Iliad make a fool of me again, though I doubt he will.
With that Zellana exited the house and began a patrol of the city, she needed leads, in fact Sier, the b*****d was probably having better luck than her. Atleast I don't have to torture to get leads, that man is an a*****e. Shaking her head she continued down the road, in search of a lead that might point her in the direction of Nyx and her partners.

Iliad walked back into his room and wanted to hold Sabine tighter to him than ever before, but doing so would bust open her wounds so he settled for sitting at the side of the bed, even with his chair now free, and held Sabine's hand in his. He laced his fingers between hers and once again felt like all was right in the world, even when so much was wrong, he was with her, and that was enough for now. Iliad looked at her and saw she was asleep, which confused him seeing as how she still took his hand. A good dream I hope, I would hate for her to only hold my hand for support and not out of wanting. He thought.
Iliad sighed, knowing she was still asleep and said anyway, "Well, I think that may be the last we see of her." Iliad sighed, "She is too strung up on her morals, she can't see that this is the life I want to live, or maybe she does, maybe I just can't see it from her perspective..." Iliad shook his head and smiled a sad smile, "There I go again thinking outloud." Iliad leaned back onto his elbows so that he was parallel with Sabine. "Atleast I've still got you right, and you still have me, so I'm alright." Even though she probably didn't catch any of that if felt good to say. Iliad smiled and leaned his head back fully and thought he might even drift into a light sleep, but he heard something in the dead silence of the room, or rather, above it.
Iliad tensed quickly and got up out of the bed softly, so he wouldn't wake up Sabine. "I'll be back... right, you're asleep..." Iliad took the covers and pulled them up high over Sabine, trying to cover as much of her as possible without her waking up to a black wall of fabric. When he was done he exited the room and ran to the front table, equipping himself with all of his equipment, his blades, and his "goodies." When he was propperly equipped he opened the front door and locked it shut behind him. Quietly as possible the master thief reached the roof and poked his head just above to see who was up there. He seen the back of a man, but he recognized the clothes. Ducking his head back quickly and grinding his teeth he thought. <********, how did he find me? That is the same man who sat with Zellana yesterday for all of two seconds, but even still to sit with her must mean that he is an Order of Light too.
Iliad formulated a plan that was half lie half truth and smiled, If this works I need to buy myself a drink. Iliad bounded onto the roof, blades drawn and pointed them at the man. "THIEF!!" He called out as loud as he could, hoping someone below might hear him. "You thief, get off my property now! Else I will report you to the proper athourities!" Iliad held his weapons infront of him and stood in a low battle ready position. "If you don't leave now you will regret it you low down criminal!!"

User Image Sierinix turned with his bow ready, 3 arrows waiting to hit their target. "On accounts of Hiding a wanted Rebel, harboring a Sinner, I here by place you under arrest. You WILL follow my orders or you will be shown no mercy." Sierinix smiled and laughed. did this guy really just call him a thief. all of the gaurds and order new sierinix too well to call him a thief unless taking lives counted as Thievery. "If I were you...Brother of Zellana i would stand down. If not...hehe the prince does not like those that fail to carry out orders. I believe aiding a rebel is cause for treason is it not..."

Sierinix was playing his favorite game other than killing or hunting... Mind games and manipulation were to much fun for him "I Know your sister was here and i heard enough the first time I came here tonight. that you 2 were family...I also know who your hiding is wanted by the order....Would you like to try and make a deal or shall i kill you then kill your sweet heart with your own blades?" Sorry Zellana but your failure shall not go unnoticed. Our Prince shall know of this even i die.

Sabine -o- Winters

Sleeping somehow came easily for Sabine, which was odd. Usually, because of her nightmares she didn't sleep, or had to force herself into a sleep with drinking. Thought, as she lay there in the bed, she felt herself drifting off into a deep sleep, her mind clouding over with dreams.

There was a warmth surrounding her, like summer had come to Dru-Kai once again. She wasn't in bed, covered in bandages but rather was out by the Imperial Forest underneath the trees. She was leaning back against something soft, a smile on her face. What... what was this? Hands were wrapped around her waist resting on her stomach, and her hand were on top of those. Their longer legs stretched out next to her shorter ones, leaving her nestled back against them.

"So..." She said with a smile, feeling the arms wrapping around her a little tighter. "Pretty good for an anniversary don't you think. All alone in the woods, enjoying the day together. Romantic huh."

She could feel the person behind her chuckling and before long kissing at her neck. Sabine sighed and smiled brightly, for the first time feeling wanted and loved. It was perfect.

"I love you, you know that?" She said with a sigh before pulling away and turning around in their arms and kissing their lips gently.

At the last moment, she saw that it was Iliad she was kissing, the face no longer blurry.

Sabine had a small smile on her face, as when Iliad in had walked back into the room and taken her hand, she found her fingers easily entwining with his. She had no idea what was going on outside or when Iliad had let go, but when the yelling had started on the roof, she felt her eyes open a little.

"What?" She asked, with a yawn, rubbing at her eyes with her good hand. "What the hell? Iliad?"

Her eyes widened when she heard the voice of Sier. That voice... she had known first hand, and nearly felt his poison arrows.

"God damnit, this isn't good. We need to go. We have to get out of here..." She said.

If he was here... it wouldn't take too much longer for the Order to come around. She was on the wanted list... since she was young, and the last thing she wanted was the rest of them to follow and take her away to the castle. She couldn't allow that to happen. She... she would die if it did.

Iliad looked at the three arrows that were aimed at him the same way he looked at a locked lock, nothing too difficult to get past. Iliad looked up from the three pointed pieces of metal and to the man's masked face as he spoke, This can't be better, he has seen me talking to Zellana, God must really love me today. Iliad pointed at him, "You, you know Zellana, then that must mean you're part of the Order as well," Iliad looked shocked and bowed down low on one knee. Standing back up and sheathing his blades he continued, "Sir, please accept my appologies. I meant no disrespect." He looked away slightly embarrassed. "What you say is true, we were both rebels, but no more!"
Iliad looked back up at Sier with a fire in his eye. "I am not the man I was two days ago, me and the girl have seen where we have gone wrong, we now know what life this is, a crap one. Living on the run and outside the law is no way to live at all." Iliad swept his hand through the air to punctute his sentence, "It is a life we no longer wish to live. Yes, Zellana was here, but only to win over my heart and allegiance to the Order, and by night's end she succeeded!" Iliad took two steps forward with a smile, "Don't you see, we're going to enlist in the guards today, as soon as we are able to! There is no need for hostilities, just patients, that is all I ask, a day to prove to you that we SHALL live by the law. Not only do you have my word, you also hold in your hands the future of my sister's career and possibly, even her life, I wouldn't dream of destroying that. Please sir, just one day, if when you come back we are not enlisted I will go willingly with you to jail." Iliad smiled a hopeful smile, Guess its the life of a military dog for me, atleast for the time being... Iliad thought.
He wondered slightly how Sabine would take the news, Hey Sabine, good morning, we're joining the Guards... It was better than fighting it out on the roof tops. Iliad hoped the man took his story, well not story, sure it was made up on the spot but Iliad knew the man would be back to check on him, and Iliad had no intention to fight, nor run from Dru-Kai, that left the guards.

Sabine -o- Winters

Sabine pushed the blankets off of her body anger once again seething through her. She was high enough up in the house that she could hear the conversation happening on the roof. She moved out of the bed, Though she knew she shouldn't and moved slowly to grab something else to wear. Something different then just a T-shirt down to her mid thigh. The doc had patched her up good. She didn't feel much pain thanks to the numbing salve, and the bandages were tight enough against her that the wound's wouldn't re open. She could care less what she wore, so the first thing she found was a pair of pants that she pulled onto her body with her one, unslinged hand. They were long but they would fit comfortably over top of her dressings.

"So far..." She gritted. "He is not digging himself out of the hole but deeper into it."

Sabine managed to take her arm out of the sling and toss the dirty shirt onto the ground before digging around the dresser for another shirt. She pulled it on and then slinged her arm again.

"I need to get out of here. I can't go to the castle. I can't..." She said, before walking out of the bedroom and grabbing her blade.

She sheathed it on her back, and headed to the door her body shaking in fear.

"Is that so? hmm if what you say is true I will be seeing you when you enter the castle. the both of you enlist and yur sisters life is spared and I will have no business with you... however you leave the city for ANY reason or do not show to the castle by this hour she will be convicted and or killed. So if you now understand I shall leave thee in peace."

Sierinix backed up to the edge of the roof putting away his bow and the 3 arrows. "Ill be watching be sure of that. but if you dont mind I have targets that need to be removed from this plane. Be glad you're not a Sinner...for now." With that Sierinix jumped down off the roof landing silently on the ground.

Sierinix couldnt help himself as he walked pass the front door. "Ill See you later Recruits! hehehahaha"

Iliad watched as Sier spoke, This guy is just way to full of himself... Iliad thought bitterly, though he dared not show it on his face, Him knowing of Zell's relation helped my little story, but also makes me need to go through with it. If I don't Zell's life as a guard is over, hell most likely they will even try and hang her, I won't allow that, even if I have to cut the noose down myself, I won't allow any more of my familly to die by the gallows. Just as Iliad finished his thought Sier hopped off the roof and went away. Good riddence, guy needs to fall on his own arrow one of these days.
Iliad mimed Sier's movements and hopped down off the roof, landing softly even without rolling. With a sigh he moved to the front door and opened it, "Time to break the news to Sabine." He said quietly. Iliad reached out and unlocked the front door, twisted the knob and opened it to see Sabine, fully dress and armed. Quickly Iliad rushed in and shut the door behind him. "Sabine, what are you doing?" He asked, "Are you alright to move, don't tire yourself out if you don't need to." He said rushing over to her. "Where are you planning on going anyway, and with your sword too? I don't think you are in any condition to fight."

Sabine -o- Winters

The figure of Iliad came bursting through the front door, nearly knocking Sabine right over. She looked up at him and he was soon at her side. She pushed away his hands with her good arm and narrowed her eyes.

"I'm fine. Just fine. You on the other hand... should be worried. Why?! You sold us out to the Guards! You sold me out! Didn't I tell you before what would happen if I were taken to the castle?"

She moved out of his arms and sighed before fixing her sword on her back.

"I'm leaving... I have to." She said quietly. "If I go to the castle, I'll die."

She looked at Iliad with sad eyes, before standing and walking to him. She took one of his hands in hers before smiling.

"Come with me? Please?"

Iliad felt instantly like a child caught red handed. "I didn't sell us out." He said quickly, "I just didn't think it smart to loose blood ontop of my home with a member of the order, I didn't want to do it in an alley way in the theatre district either but I had no choice." Iliad shook his head, "Don't you see, if I were to fight him here all the guards would break down my door by the time I came in here to tell you. This was the only way out!" Iliad couldn't understand how Sabine didn't see what he was trying to say. "Sabine, I know you hate the guards, but just play this game for the time being, I'm sure I can figure something out for us. Right now though, joining the guards is the only way that doesn't involve fighting, which you can't do, and also with Zellana in the guards I'm sure it won't be too bad." He was trying to win over Sabine, he could tell it wasn't working.
When Sabine took his hand and asked him one simple favor he felt like he had been punched in the gut harder than ever before. Leave? He asked himself, This city is all I've ever known. I can't leave. Iliad held Sabine's hand as she held his. "Sabine, I can't leave, where would we even go? This city is the only constant in my life, I... I need it. Its my father's legacy. Every house I go into I know my father has been there before me, its my only link to him that I have left." He took a step closer to her, he tried to will all of his reasoning to her since he felt words were not enough to fully sway her to his way of thinking. "Also if I leave they will try to kill Zellana, I won't allow that, not again." Iliad was shaking at the thought of his sister dying, and also at the thought of Sabine leaving him. "Please, stay with me Sabine, you don't have to go. I can provide for you, I can protect you, but not if we leave."

Sabine -o- Winters

"I can't play the game!" She said to him, almost desperately. "You can't protect me all the time, you can't always keep me safe. I'm not just saying this because I hate the guards. I can't go to castle. My nightmares, haven't just been about my dad. I feel them, the guards, the prince, the king... all of them. They imprison me, and then they take my magic. That's what they're going to do to me if I go with you, or anywhere near there."

She bit her bottom lip and turned around pacing the room.

"I killed someone when I was younger, a very important someone, who was close to the king when I left no listening to my father. My song was too much for him, and it drove them to grab a knife and stab himself in the chest. Obviously he was harbouring immense guilt and caused him to go insane. I have already been charged with treason. Now with this law, they'll kill two birds with one stone. If my circlet, diadem, whatever it is you want to call it, gets taken away, I die. This, is my magic. This is my life. All the guards know me, that's why I'm surprised Zell didn't kill me on the spot. I can't go with you."

Sabine looked down when Iliad said that he couldn't leave the city, that this was his home and his legacy. He was right. She was selfish asking him to come with her, but she didn't have a home here anymore. She always couldn't let them kill Zell... his only family left. He had family to be with. She didn't want to leave without him, but she couldn't stay.

"What do we do?" She asked quietly, before walking back closer to him.

Iliad listened as Sabine told her story and his hopes of her staying died a little bit more with each word that escaped her mouth. He ran out of plans, his constantly working mind finally dried up and he was left with nothing else. "I... I didn't know." He said, reality settling in on what this meant, his heel started to bounce. He just signed himself up to join the guards, he signed himself up to be Sabine's executioner. I won't, I can't be a guard, but I... damn it Iliad, its just a place! He screamed at himself, but it was a lie. Dru-Kai was more than just a place to Iliad. To Iliad Dru-Kai dripped with the life of his father, it was his father's legacy and his inhieritance. As light as Iliad was in mind and spirit, he was anchored as solidly to the city as a tree rooted to the ground. Plus Zellana, I can't just... I... He looked at Sabine again and felt a breath catch in his chest.
"Oh Sabine..." He muttered, wrapping his arms around her. You're the first person to actually mean something to me, the first since my father, I won't let you go, I can't, I want to stay with you forever. Iliad wanted to say this, wanted to confess how he felt, whether she felt as strongly as he did or not, but he didn't. How could he? She wouldn't believe him anyway, Iliad couldn't believe it himself. Iliad was just a womanizer, he proved that yesterday when he flipped out. He wasn't in love, he was just consumed with lust. If that was true though, why did he feel so bad, and why did holding Sabine make it hurt less? "I don't know." He choked out, "I don't know what to do. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry I can't be stronger for you." He looked into her eyes and through all the confusion he had swiming in his head he leaned forward and kissed her softly on the lips. Sabine, I think I love you. Again he can't say the words, but maybe he didn't have to, maybe this was enough.

Sabine sighed and looked down again, closing her eyes.

"I never really told you, all I did was hint at it. I didn't want to open all the way, because all it did was hurt people, the people I was close to."

When she felt Iliad quickly wrap his arms around her and pull her close, she found herself wanting to do nothing but stay in these warm arms forever. How had she let this happen? How did she let herself become to attached to him... so... infatuated? In love? Whatever it was, she was in it with him. Her arms wrapped up around his back gripping into his shirt, holding him close, almost desperately to her. Hearing him choke on his words made her heart break, and the familiar sting of tears come to her eyes.

"This... this isn't your fault." She said quietly. "Please don't apologize."

She pulled her head back away from his chest, too look at him in the eyes, and when she did she felt his lips softly capturing hers. She kissed him back, but didn't want a sweet goodbye. She... didn't know if things would be like this again, and she didn't want it to be a sweet goodbye. She pulled away for a second, her eyes closed and small pants coming from her mouth not from the kiss just yet, but from the anticipation. After a while, she captured his lips again, this time, more urgently then before.

"I love you Iliad..." She thought in her head, hoping that what she was doing would say it for her. She didn't think she'd find the words.

Iliad felt Sabine break off and thought that she was leaving now. Iliad almost called out for her not to leave but soon felt her lips upon his again. Iliad felt his face flush as he wrapped his arms around her. Iliad wanted to live in this moment for the rest of his life. All thought was lost to him, he was simply a cloud floating on the wind of Sabine, and he was okay with that.
Pulling Sabine closer to him Iliad took one step back and felt his butt meet the arm of the coutch. He sat down on it and tried to slide back onto the cushions with Sabine, so that they could be more comfortable. The cushions, however, were no longer on the coutch after Sabine bled on them. So Iliad, and through him Sabine, fell not onto cushions but onto the wooden support of the coutch. Iliad chuckled inwardly about it. It was almost sybolic of the time they spent together. A series of actions that seemed benign but wound up failing in the end, though through it all they remained together.
