Not THAT long... Two or three months maybe.
sweatdrop In two or three months the ASDF has recovered completely? Wow...send me some of that stuff the soldiers are using
xp . I already posted a year and 6 months which is a pretty good time to have the ASDF back to its full power and stuff.
ninja To say that ASDF assets are overengineered is an understatement. The massive damage just meant that the armor needed to be ripped-off around the damaged areas, then the hull segments removed, then said areas needed to be pulled out and replaced as a unit. With replacement parts available as a result of the warship construction program, repairs could be completed in sickeningly low times.
With the proper parts, support, and equipment, in space a swap like this could be completed in a week or two. Of course, the next month or two would then be spent checking and rechecking all the connections and linkages and fixing minor mistakes before it would be used, but the ASDF HQ can use the sections while that's happening without fear of cataclysmic consequences. Even for spacecraft designed to play to the strengths of 0g and mitigate it's downsides, that's far faster than normal.
Of course there are tradeoffs involved (many of which are significant), but it's great for getting things up and running
fast once something goes wrong.
Now, the people... That's a different story. IIRC, only about 1/3rd of the ASDF is actually combat ready. Dead and missing personelle are, of course, not counted.
