((Second post, look to the last post previous page for the first one)) Dyani realized the head magister must have been interested if he said that. She agreed to the proposal. Dyani emnated a field surrounding herself and the head magister. Everything outside the field seemed to stop, but in reality, everything was slowed down as if time itself were frozen. "Interesting spell. Now, I want you to hold it as long as possible, and fight me until you can go above and beyond your limits." He pushed a button on his staff, and a small blade extended from the bottom of the staff. He charged at her. Dyani dodged, but not before her arm recieved a scratch. The headmaster came again and again very relentlessly, almost gliding with the wind with each advance. Dyani had a hard time dodging each of the blows. The headmaster charged at her again, this time knocking Dyani into a small pond. Dyani made a grasping motion inside of the water. when she raised her arm, she held a long beam of water. She ran to him thrusting as much as she could, only to have the headmaster dodge each and every blow. "Is that all you can do?" The head magister summoned fire and focused it around his weapon. He clashed his weapon against the beam of water once to have the water evaporate. When the steam cleared away, Dyani held a scythe. Dyani was panting heavily, her hands were shaking as she grasped the scythe. The head magister looked impressed, and he released the time field. When the time field released, the rest of the judges unfroze. The scythe that Dyani once held had disappeared, and Dyani fell to her knees. The head magister knelt down to her level, "Have you ever seen a scythe like the one you held just now?" Dyani shook her head. "Very well." The head magister turned to the rest of the judges, "Clearly this woman has gone above and beyond her normal capabilities. I hereby recommend that she be added to the army." He walked back to Dyani and said, "Clearly you were able to use that scythe because your body was under such stress. In all my years of practicing magic, I've never seen something like what you just did." He wanted to say something else, but he changed his mind. One of the judges walked up to Dyani and helped her out of the room and into the outside part of the stadium. They both walked to the lower floor, and the judge that helped Dyani left.

Cailen looked over at the stadium. Amongst the crowd he though he could see Dyani. "It appears Ms. Dyani has passed, this should be a good bolster to our ranks." Cailen said, swinging his legs over the side of the cart and let them hang as he sat. He took out a dirk from his belt and began playing with it. Twirling it through his fingers, throwing it up and catching it by the tip.

Aeol stood next to Durim. "I thought you would like it." He reached into his pack and pulled something out. "Here Durim, take this suit of chain mail, I got it from the quarter master when I learned we might have a new member. It isn't brand new, but it should help." He bent down and placed it next to Durim's armor. "Well, If there are no more questions, I should go. Sarodin ordered me to secure a large tent and caravan for the Senior Gauntleteers. Oh yes, that reminds me, enjoy the Gauntlet's members as much as you can tonight, you and the other junior members will be assigned to groups among the other factions. It's to spread out our talents, amongst the ranks."

Joss finished practicing and walked back. He found somebody in the crowd and asked, "Excuse me, where may I find where the members of the Gauntlet stay?" The person he asked pointed north. Joss thanked him, and walked over at an upbeat pace, but his gait was interrupted when he bumped into an older man.

Sarodin exited Terrigan's chambers with a bow. Walking down the steps into the front gardens, he was deep in thought, then ran into someone. He stood, unfazed and looked to his right, his gaze was cold at first. The was about to say something, then stopped seeing who it was. He then said, "Ah, Joss, a wonder to see you again." He hissed, a slight smile barely visible under his helmet. "It seems as though you have not changed much over the months we were apart. You still have that same happy look on your face, despite what happened with your parents." Sarodin put a hand on Joss's shoulder. "Come, tell me about your travels, I am sure the rest of the order will welcome your arrival. Oh, yes, we have just secured a new member. His name is Durim, a swordsmen, he shows great promise, he is smart as well. He seems to be a loner though, easily angered, so I wouldn't tempt him." He started down the stairs to the cellar.

When Joss realized who it was, he immediately apologized. "I've been doing well. I've been doing a few odd jobs to get by. How about yourself?" The reason Joss was still oddly cheerful is that he had the uncanny ability to be able to accept things. Death and loss were definitely sad for Joss, but he never let that get in the way of his life.

Sarodin's smile left his face. He stopped and looked up toward the sky. "I am afraid... My health is failing." Sarodin said. "I will be dead within the months to come. To make matters worse I lack an heir to assume my duties as Patron. I am trying to find a man among the order to success me, but I have not found one." Sarodin thought for a moment. The he continued, "But do not let that concern you, we must continue." Sarodin made a gesture toward the stairs and began down again. Upon entering he saw Durim preparing his armor. "Ah, Durim. Come, meet a friend of mine and a brother of the Guantlet."
Cailen finally stood up off the cart of hay and returned the dirk to it's hilt. Is muscles were fine if you ignored the aching. He paced a little, then tried running a short distance. "Well my legs are fine, so if I find myself target of an enemy I can at least run."

Durim continued to piece on the armor, looking at Sarodin as he grabbed blackheart and his helmet from the ground and stood, walking over to Sarodin

"I wish you the best of luck in your search." Joss smiled. He followed Sarodin down the steep and winding stairs. Durim sounded like a guy not to be messed with so Joss decided he would be polite as he could be. Even if Durim wouldn't accept him, Joss would be okay with that.
Dyani munched on some treats to get get some energy back. She stood up and walked over to look for the magisters quarters.

Sarodin looked Durim over, "Ah, the armor fits you well. Tell me, do you find it to your liking, Durim?" Sarodin then looked to Joss. "This is the impressive young man, I tested him myself, he shows the skills of a warrior." Sarodin stepped back. He went to a table and took out a piece of parchment, he picked up a feather pen and began writing down on it. Sarodin returned to the two, and handed it to Durim. "I will let you two become acquainted. Durim, that is a map of the land surrounding Arridan. Please meet me at the place I have marked down after the auditions are concluded, It is a lake surrounded by forest by the main road, shouldn't be hard to find." Sarodin looked at Joss one last time, then headed on his way.

"The armor is fine, It fits me and my attitude." He said as he hooked the helmet to the belt and took the map, He opened it and looked at it before he rolled it up and stuck it in a pouch "I will meet you there after a bit of wandering." He said just before looking to joss, his eyes meeting the glare of the candles, looking him over as if he we're making some guess in his head "I shall go wander the market, I care not what you do." He said as he stepped by joss and walked up the stairs, making his back out and to the some of the standard practices, watching the rogues go about with their intricate test

((Sorry for the lack of posting, I just got back to school and drowned from the several projects in each class.))
Watching Cailen dart about, Drexel turned his head. The lines for auditions were thinning, just like the rope above the rogue pit, the amount of animals left to battle for duelists, and the spells left to be cast. He watched his examples, many more rogues were falling to the slithering monstrosities below them from parts of the rope ripping. Turning to the duelists auditions, Drexel saw that there were few animals left in cages, and soon people would have to fight what they were designated. Drexel turned once more to see the auditions for magisters. While he couldn't see into the room, Drexel noticed that more and more people attempting came out as failed from the lack of spells the judges hadn't seen. Many of them didn't know enough spells to be able to have backup. But when Drexel saw Dyani, he knew she had passed. Several hours had passed since the beginning of the auditions and Drexel was becoming annoyed with simply standing around with a lion pelt in his hand. Yet, he hadn't anywhere to go and didn't know what else to do, so he stayed put, waiting for a suggestion from someone else.

Cailen noticed Drexel's impatient shifting. "Why do we not go into the market or explore the city? The testing shall not be over for several more hours, it should provide as a nice distraction to us for the time being." Cailen walked next to Drexel, and placed an arm around him. "Come, I have a heavy purse and wish to enjoy the leisure of Arridan, allow me to treat you to this." Cailen made an outward gesture to the buildings and streets. "Shall we?"

A blank expression, not bored or angered, appeared on Drexel's face. "Very well, I illy do see the rest of the city outside the markets.' He spoke. "Of course, because of this, I know little of those paths. Care to lead? I suggest we begin quickly, it seems that many others are getting the same idea and are beginning to exit the stadium in a developing crowd." People began walking towards the exits in a growing collection. Nodding, Drexel awaited Cailen to lead.

Dyani walked inside of the magister's quarters. They were very simple. Each room was furnished with a twin sized bed, a small nightstand and one dresser. She plopped on to her bed and fell asleep. She soon began to dream. The audition from before replayed in her mind. She woke up after the dream finished. Dyani's stomach grumbled loudly. She looked at her watch. "Has it been only two hours?" Her stomach grumbled loudly. "I guess it's time to eat." she thought. Dyani grabbed her coin purse and headed out for the market. When she arrived she was greeted by the smell of food cooking. While she was browsing a small group of people caught her attention. Two slightly bigger boys were picking on a smaller boy. "I'll give you whatever you want so please stop bothering me!" The smaller kid protested. "We don't want your money you spoiled brat. We want you to kneel to us. You're nothing but a disgrace. Because of your sister we don't want anything to do with you. Just disappear!" The bully laughed. Dyani was shocked when she heard what the bully said. She headed over to where the bullies are and waited for the right moment to intervene. One of the bullies held the boy while the other clenched his fist in order to punch the boy. He landed the punch, but Dyani successfully intervened and took the punch for the boy. The bullies were both surprised. Dyani did not flinch when she was punched. "I'm his sister. It's because of me, your precious reputation is spoiled. Come on. Land as many punches on me as you want. I'm your real target." She said this with a big smile on her face, but Dyani's gold and blue eyes that stared at them truly became a scary sight, and the bullies ran away. Dyani glanced at her adoptive brother one more time and turned to leave. "Wait!" the small boy yelled.
