Azhure couldn't control the shiver of excitement she felt when Fulmine did not merely dismiss her after she gave him ample opportunity, nor the smile when he'd stated that his brother'd found a starting point.

As he swung her up onto his shoulders, she couldn't help but giggle. Being so small, this gave her a new perspective. She was now taller than most in the crowd and she could see everything. She wanted to look all around and gape. A sudden thought struck her.

"How could you know 'El's found something? He doesn't speak, nor was he anywhere nearby?" It wasn't that she doubted at all, she was merely curious. Pink colored her cheeks, and both hands flew to cover her mouth."I'm sorry. It's none of my business."

She settled quietly hoping that she hadn't upset him, and that they would continue on their way to the temple and she wouldn't lose her comfortable perch. Maybe if she was quiet and still enough, he would even forget what she'd asked.

Seir was waving around a small child like a dirty rug. Haveni sighed. "Oh, it's just your filthy old cape!" She pushed past him, bumping against him on purpose, feeling pity for the small one. She cast him a peeve look as she walked past, gazing around for the inn he had momentarily forgot to search for.

Just beyond a pub was an inn, towering several stories. And just past it...was that..? She caught a quick sight of pale hair and black clothes. Was that the one from before? Had she really followed them this far? She chuckled, amused at this thought. Too far away to tell, though.

She could hear the ruckus going on behind her of Seir tussling about with the twilif, but she ignored it, perching on a large root of some beach oak that curved upwards out of the ground from near the inn. She often ignored the minor hassling that group did, and kept to her own devices. It was generally useless to try to stop it.

"Let's go. If you guys want to stay out here, go ahead." Noctis drawled in a lazy manner, walking ahead of the group to walk into the inn. If they kept dawdling around like this, they wouldn't get enough rooms in time. Did they want to sleep outside tonight? Sheesh. What a slow crowd. He walked ahead into the large inn, a small measure of annoyance was still there. Even worse, there was a male at the counter. Wasn't there supposed to be pretty ladies? .. They had to have maids.

"Hey Seir, Aeos. You guys want to book single expensive rooms or just share rooms?" He asked, poking his head out of the door, his loud voice calling towards the group. "We can always book one for the ladies and one for the males." He suggested, the sight of the buckled constellation drew curious glasses. It didn't help that his eyes were two different colors as well.

Afraid and alone, Cempaxochitl walked around the town she had just stumbled across with. The voices that had been guiding her and her sister were gone, so where the candle lights they had been following she knew no longer where she was and when she had turned around to her sister she had found her gone as well. What would happen to her now that she was lost in that strange place with no one to guide her? ; she closed her eyes and tried to feel her sister, tried to see where she was but the only thing she could see was darkness.
“oh my, Azhure! Sister were are you?” her voice shivered and tears started to form on her eyes. Where to go now? Should she sat where she was or could she venture into the town and try to look around for her lost sister? After quite a while she made up her mind se took a deep breath and started walking around, praying that she would find Azhure or at least someone who could help her.

Keanu took a deep breath and dived in. Certainly this port city was one of his favorites, the weather was always nice, the waves perfect and the water almost as clean as the one on Noel’s lake back home. He took his time, admiring the underwater scenery, collecting a few shells and minutes later he returned to surface and made his way back to the shore after all it was lunch time already and he was quite hungry.
He stepped out of the water and started braiding his long wet hair while making his way back to the town. Maybe he could find something with seaweed for today’s lunch? With that in mind he kept walking without paying much attention to his surroundings

Watching the twilif struggle, Rosel snorted. Lowering her voice, she started to move past Seir, towards the inn Noctis seemed so keen on. "Just toss the damned thing in the ocean, it'll turn into another distraction if you let it." She'd have suggested he kill it outright, which would have certainly been the most efficient way to end the situation, but it brought them back to the larger situation of drawing the ire of the crowd around them. As a group, they may have been able to decimate the city much like the village, but who knew Haveni's feelings on the matter of destruction, given her last reaction to it. She clearly sympathized with the clumsy twilif, already proving herself to be against the efficiency of a swift killing.

Rosel stopped short at Noctis's head poked out the doorway, looking mildly petulant again. "Singles." She growled irritably, brushing past him to get inside. There was a man at the desk. Noctis's irritation was suddenly apparent and Rosel suppressed the sudden urge to fry him for his misogynistic idiocy. Really, did the man think of nothing else?

She certainly wasn't going to share rooms with Haveni, end of story. Not only did simply being around her remind Rosel of the all-encompassing darkness that had invaded her mind for just a few short moments, but who knew when she would go off and fall apart again.

On second thought, leaving Haveni to fall apart alone would not be the best idea. Rosel paused, a few paces behind Noctis. If Haveni decided to plunge the city into fiery chaos, Rosel wanted to at least see it coming. To say nothing of the disaster it would be if Haveni decided to resubmerge into that personal darkness and then disappear. And with Noctis running about like a chicken dunked in hormones, who knew what he may accidentally provoke her into. "No, doubles." She wondered where Haveni was. Was she still outside? What if she didn't want doubles? Would she be forced to fight her? Looking back, Rosel frowned. She certainly couldn't go squeezing by Noctis again, just for a pleading look at Haveni. Here she was, acting weak again. It was this damned city, she just knew it.

At the insistence of his brother, Ashdel had begun to run with him, although his pace began to slow when he peered over his shoulder. Not at his mother, who watched over them protectively, but at the growing crowd of Moonfolk who stood out like beacons in his eye. Anyone could discern them from normal folk from quite the distance, although they shouldn't have been an abnormal sight. Still, he could feel a growing interest over a particular few, and kept his gaze steadied on them as they traveled about.

When he had come to a complete stop, he only looked at his brother to see his questioning look, his own face becoming slightly burdened with concern. He didn't look to see if their mother had seen their silent exchange, and he decided he'd best explain himself before Larkin grew cross with him.

"I do want to see the ocean, brother," he assured, although his voice inadvertently held doubt. "But... I fear I've found something more interesting," he confessed, looking at his feet. He couldn't explain why, but something in him wished to see more of the group, the one that probably should have been avoided the most. It was bad of him, he knew, and he certainly wasn't going to tell his mother his wishes. Yet, his gaze lingered back to where they had stood, and he felt it again. The urge to do what he knew was wrong.

Except, this time, he knew it wouldn't end without consequence. He hesitated, and looked to his Larkin.

"Did you see them?" He swallowed. "And did you feel it? Their presence..." His only concern was going tot he ocean and missing them completely. Gods, what was it about them that pulled him toward them so? He knew he couldn't go anywhere near them, yet, he felt that part of him wish for it, to cause trouble.

He envied his brother sometimes. He truly did; for if Larkin had the troubles he had, he never voiced them.

He was surprised when she didn't try to attack him, and was even more surprised when she didn't run away. When she snatched the bread from him, he didn't budge or flinch, only watched with the subtle remains of a smile on his face, mixed with his all-too familiar insatiable curiosity. This one might prove to be fun, he concluded, and watched her through half-lidded eyes.

"Is it good?" he inquired, gesturing lazily to the bread she now held. He shook his head once, twice, trying his best to look sincere. "No, no tricks." For now, he thought, fighting the urge to smile. No, he didn't see any benefit from toying with an obviously mentally-unstable creature, nor had he come across someone such as her before. At least, not that he could remember. Always had to tie in that last part, such a nuisance it was.

"I am Loki," he offered, breaking the awkward silence. He watched as she nibbled on the bread, eyeing him like a cornered coyote. He didn't trust her not to spring at him any second, and so he kept himself at the fair distance he held. True, she had fallen in her panicked state, but something told him she was always like that, and thus unpredictable. Time would tell.

He gestured to her with a hand, raising his brows. "And you are...? Oh, and you may keep that. No charge." He winked, a gesture he thought would likely be lost on her.

Shocked to have been freed so suddenly and lifted so effortlessly
Ramial could only gape at the Constellation whose grip he dangled from.
The bell attached to the bottom of his lantern chimed sweetly in the breeze
snapping the boy out of his stupor. Apologize? He sure would be!

Once he recovered his voice anyways.

"Errruhmm, s-sorry Sir, I... I didn't see you there."

Brilliant, really.

Biting his lip he waited to be dropped, cuffed, or worse. Ramial had grown up
around the streets. Oh sure, he'd lived with other unfortunates under the care
of the temple, and held mostly respectable little jobs, like his current one as a messenger...
which he would probably be fired from if the Innkeeper came out and realized
that Ramial was causing trouble for his soon-to-be customers.

He'd learned early it was sometimes better to just take the knock that was coming to you!
And since he certainly couldn't run...

"Sir, if you could find it in your, uh, heart to let me down without causing
too much damage, I could go help my master ready the rooms your friends
are reserving? I really do offer my humblest apologies for my clumsiness!"

Larkin was torn, and he didn't like the feeling. Unlike his brother, he wasn't drawn to the exceptionally dangerous or forbidden; he liked a little mischief, sure enough, but he preferred the thrill of adventure to the knowledge that something wicked was waiting for him. Sure, sometimes there was harm to be had on an adventure, but there was also the mystery, the wonder if you would find a pot of gold or have hot coals flung at your face. He longed for the excitement, and the ability to explore the unknown.

He would never, at this rate. Mother would treat him like a child until he ascended to constellation, and perhaps even after that. The though brought a swift wave of temper, made him pucker his mouth at his brother with petulance.

"I want to taste the foam. Didn't you, as well?" Releasing his hand, Larkin brushed his bangs from his face, giving his brother as stern a look as he could manage as he whispered, "You're always wanting to go do something that'll get the hide taken off us."

Sneaking a glance at the group, Larkin could admit to himself they looked interesting, but he wasn't exceptionally tempted. Especially not with the way one of them was waving a twilif around with its cape.

After a moment, he looked back to Ashdel, adding as an afterthought, "Mother will probably be the one to skin us, by the way, if we approach that lot."

Bending at the waist, he scooped up some sand, bringing it to his nose and sniffing.

The bread was good, and it filled a gnawing hole in her stomach that she'd been doing her best to ignore. Without reserve, she ate as fast as she could, pacing herself only so much that she didn't choke. In the past, too many times, Roen had been offered food and had it taken away. Now, when someone gave her something, she was quick to either hide it away until she could use it, or use it all up immediately.

They couldn't take it back if she ate it. Unless they made her spit it up. But, then, no one would want it.

Maybe Loki was like that. Maybe Loki wanted her to spit it up.

Pausing, the butt of the bread held just before her mouth, she stared at his knees. Slowly, she rose, hooves all tucked very closely together, wings tightly against her sides.

She could run if he moved too fast. Or she could fly, if she had to. She didn't like to fly, but she could do it.

"Roen is Roen." Though her voice still trembled, there was a vein of mistrust in it. "Roen does not trust Loki."

If anything, she was honest. It was all she knew how to be.

Holding the bread close to her, she asked slowly, "Why does Loki give this to Roen?"

Another soft sigh escaped his lips. The question about Noel's mutisum always seemed to cause curiosity, a kind of which he'd rather avoid, if given the chance. Fulmine supposed it didn't really cause any harm to tell Azhure how he and Noel can communicate.

"Yes, my brother is mute. But that hasn't stopped him from living as freely as he chooses. You see, he created a technique of gathering the water in the air, and manipulating it so that it spells out words in our language. Because the air here is so rich in water, he can create letters from any distance, and because of our connection to one another, he knows where I am, as I do him." The tone spoken was rather affectionate. Fulmine adored his little brother; though they did not share the same parents, they did share the same origin, the same place on Earth where they had lived.

"However, it is a one way deal. I cannot reach him through the same manner. I cannot command the mist in the air as he can. My power... Is much more destructive than his, so I try to limit it's use." He turned his gaze towards the temple, where Noel sat waiting. "What about you, Little one? What powers do you have?"

With the distractions that had sent the group into various places, Haveni had slipped away. It wasn't often that she parted from them, she somehow thought it irritated Seir for her to slink off.

The sun was starting to set, and lights began to flicker on, although the sleepy light of the last sun beams still reached Priyal. It was sort of like hushed fire, the lavender of twilight setting in upon the oranges and golds.

The ocean looked like a sea of sparkling treasure like this. Before she had realized it, she had begun to set off for the pale sands that were the beach.

She sauntered down the main street, passing by a couple twilif children who seemed to be siblings, and past the man she had met earlier, Loki was his name. She paused for a moment, watching his antics with the little one.

"She used to be that way to you, didn't she?" came the familiar voice in her head. No, it wasn't Ruin. She felt it was more...herself, just a small thought. She had a memory, watching him share bread with the little shy one. She had once been in the child's place, and there was another person, blurred, just a blur now.

Haveni tilted her head away, and kept walking until her feet touched upon the sand. Ooh, how it seemed to penetrate every part of her feet! Though, walking upon it was a little awkward, until she got to the slightly dampened sand at the beginning of the waves.

The ocean was endless. It's vast size came bearing down on her at once, and yet in the vastness, there was some vague comfort in it. She took a step into the sea, and the tide rushed against her bare feet. She remembered the lyric from some lullaby she had once heard. '...by now, she is alone in the sea..~' it had sung. Well, in a way it was right. No other was down here, except her, and she could very well just disappear right into the sea water, if she kept walking into it. It would sweep you right up, and pull you in and never give you back.

Thinking this, she partially felt as if she had been pulled into some fathomless sea already.

As he watched the children playing under the watchful eye of their mother
Azra'iel also enjoyed the play and change of light as the sun set.
On the beach he saw another Constellation approach the water, almost hesitantly it seemed.

Something about her pulled at him, he turned, silently leaping from support
to support and landed silently on the sand a ways off from the pale form.

Not wanting to startle her, he called out as soon as he entered her hearing range.
"Milady, have care. The tides here are fickle of an evening. 'Tis why these piers were abandoned"

Offering a smile, Azra'iel started to bow in greeting ...but frozen part way
through the action when the aura of the white Constellation before him collided
with his own and he could sense, could almost recognize the darkness in her, in her heart.
Eyes narrowing slightly, Azra'iel slowly straightened to his full height.

"You are... you were there when Ruin awakened. I recognize your spirit.
But I am afraid I did not interact enough with you to know your name.
Please, have any seen her of late? Ruin? I had nearly given up my hunt."

Palest gold eyes flashed in the waning light, trying to reconcile the physical
sight of Haveni with the memory of auras he now only vaguely recalled.

As 'Mine answered, Azhure found herself subconciously trying to read what he was feeling. To see if he was irritated with her, or if there were any unpleasant surprises headed her way. Sometimes, she simply spoke without thinking, and this caused anger or frustration, which often led to her being hurt. But as she realised what she was doing, she forced herself to stop. She had no reason to doubt him. After all, he and his brother had been nothing but kind to her.

Listening to the explanation, Azhure was intrigued. What determination and tenacity that showed. To want to live life the way he wanted and to find a way around his handicap, that was something to admire. She sighed almost wistfully. What would it be like to have such control over an element? The power must be amazing. She felt almost envious, or she would, if such feelings were in her nature. But they weren't.

There was a steady affection which radiated, reflecting his tone of voice. "You must really love your brother."She murmured.

There was something unfathomable in his tone and body language as he mentioned his own abilities. She grew even more curious, but she held her tongue in check. Yes, she wanted to know more, but she had imposed on him enough. She followed his gaze, wanting to catch sight of the temple which may have some of the answers she desperately needed to find. She almost missed the question posed to her, though she answered it as best as she could.

"My powers? I don't really think I have any... I just...feel and read."

"Hmmm... Excuse me..."

"Not now, kid."

"Er... Sir, can you tell me where I can find---"

"Can't you see I'm busy?!"

Epona huffed and put her fists on each side of her waist. No matter how beautiful the city was, people were rude. She sighed. If she was an adult, people would show her more respect or so she thought.

She walked around in the city, in search of markets selling herbs. It was hard to go by smell as the odor of the sea filled the city. It was like looking for a needle in a big forest.

People bumped into her a couple of times, without even apologizing. Epona came to the conclusion that the city folks were anything but polite. She missed the Lost Village's courtesy. At least, some of them were paying attention to her.

As she was looking for a marketplace, she saw Haveni with a bunch of other Moonlore people. She was so surprised that she had to put her hands over her mouth to keep her loud gasp from being heard. The last thing she wanted was to mess with these people. She didn't know why but her guts were telling her to hide quickly.

So following her instincts, she turned around and ran but ended up bumping into Keanu.

Like Haveni so far away, Ergo felt slight comfort at the sight of the ocean. To the traveller, the expanse of water reminded him of his reason for being here, the constellation he had tracked all this way. To the boy, the soft lapping waves provided sound for him where there was no sight. To the trickster, the color was quite appealing. The feeling was similar, but that was no doubt as far as the similarities went. The two no doubt knew nothing of each other, and neither was any worse off because of it.

The sand crunched gently beneath Ergo's sandals, different from the sun-baked dirt of the road into town and the cobbles of the streets behind him. His ears and hair flicked lightly in the sea breeze coming off the water. The smell of salt was strong again in his nose. He felt good walking toward the temple, in a strange place with something he knew was going to be strange and wonderful, but also dangerous, no doubt, about to happen. This first leg of his journey was over.

He knew this as the temple came into view and he caught his first glimpse of Noel.

Jadecrystal stood along the side of a building, hidden in shadow, looking at something nobody else could see.

"Little one, what should we do?" she asked seemingly thin air quietly.
"My name is Firewisp! And you should go out there and talk to them, because your mind hasn't snapped yet," the ghost cat meowed in an annoyed tone, only visible and heard only by Jadecrystal.

The Holy Beast seemed to sigh. "As you wish, Firewisp. You know better then I do about these matters."
"Hey!" the cat hissed, floating up to beside Jade's head. "And besides, yes I do. I've seen insane Moonfolk, and you're not there yet, so shut up."

And the holy beast stepped out into the pale sunlight, the light reflecting off her horn like a twisted beacon.
