Rena-dono Hi Kate, I know this sounds like a childish question, but do you have like a singing rival? Someone who you want to sing like or compare yourself to so you try to better your voice somehow? LOL definitely, but not just one xD I feel totally overwhelmed whenever I hear any of the SV girls sing and also just about anyone on the radio O.o I'm quite humble about my vocal abilities TwT;;; I'll be the first to admit when someone is an amazingly amazing musician! xD

Heh heh, That kind of gives me hope for the future, oddly enough. I need that kind of lucid judgement. -ω- katethegreat19 well actually my mom is one of those amazing parents that make things possible ^w^; I honestly couldn't do any of this if she hadn't offered her support while i was working on the CD. Goes to show, you're lucky you have an emotionally/physically supporting parent. I'm envious. <.<; But seriously, do you have an income, if I may ask? XP

Hey Kate, thanks for answering the question. I'm still practicing on it... and failing.
Anyway, what are your tools for the recording and editing? Or do you know any music composing software? And the required tools for the computer in order to work smoothly? I'll handle the instruments, since you told us to be creative about those.

I've just finished high school, and I read in a previous post that you've been home-schooled, so I would like to know: Have you studied at a university or a college or whatever you guys have there in the US, and if so, what did you study? I was homeschooled for middle and high school and that allowed me to really develop my musical skills further. I didn't go to college though ^w^ Hi Kate! ^w^ I thought that was a very interesting question and I wanted to ask: what did you do after high school? Do you have a part-time job? I guess you chose to focus only on your music, right? Well, I hope I don't bother you with that question, you don't have to answer me if it's annoying, but I really wondered how you lived right now. It's not very easy for artists I guess. Maybe some artists among us could learn from that? *hugs* well actually my mom is one of those amazing parents that make things possible ^w^; I honestly couldn't do any of this if she hadn't offered her support while i was working on the CD. That must be great to have such a parent, we must thank her too! Btw, I’m sorry I didn’t post anything here for a while, I’ve been very busy with my school entrance exams coming soon, so I’ll try to post more often from now on though I’ve got quite a lot of work to do. Is everything coming along well for you Kate?

lol it looked like only one person on that forum was in favor of it xD before it turned into a "I prefer the songs without vocals rant" xD
I've been invited to perform at a few events, mostly conventions, and I really wanted to do them badly, but my big problem is I'm super busy with albums as it is and can't add in a bunch of performances atm ^W^;;
ALSO! I have no band...it's just me O.o Hiring a band to play the same instruments as I did in my songs to accompany me onstage would be so expensive TwT;; 500 dollars a person minimum... and if I used karaoke tracks, I'd have to re-make them as I don't have my project files anymore and can't render out an instrumental track without my vocals anymore O.o;; so many issues!
I want to have them sorted out by next year though xD

hey kate REALLY big question here... do you happen to have any sheet music for any of the piano parts of your songs? see im a beginning pianist myself and id just love to learn to play the piano parts you put in your songs....

XP I used to have a respectable income ^w^;; I taught violin lessons at 45 dollars an hour..and I used to teach a lot of hours! But i needed the time during the day for practice, and the time at night for recording, so I needed to stop for a bit. After i finish the album I'm going to start back at it.

I use the MXL 3000 mic for my microphone, and it works great for vocals and acoustic instruments ^_^ After that I use an external sound card/USB (m-audio fast track pro) interface device to get even better sound quality I use Sony Acid for recording and mixing my recordings, but it's full of weird buggy issues O.o i prefer to use Vegas ( a movie software) instead. It's less buggy and much easier to use. but the price isn't friendly...500 dollars O.o;;; For a composition software...i guess you mean a music notation software? I use Sibelius whenever i have to write out parts ^_^ It's great! Other than that I don't use anything else xD But it will depend on your OS, I have vista and all the new computers have Windows 7 and these things won't work very well on that ^w^;; So do your research before buying!
