As I said, it's most likely from all the old cartoons we have, y'know, Pluto faces a choice between the right thing that will get him in bother and the selfish thing that will keep him out, and a little devil Pluto and Angel Pluto appear on his shoulders and try to convince him one way or the other...
It's just a pity that in this case, good is pretty dense ¬¬

Well, usually good losses in the cartoons. That isn't necesarily the case, depending on what ending you get... (I hope that wasn't to much of a spoiler)

Not really.
And good often wins. Didn't you see the time in family guy when Good Peter shot Bad peter? Or in Excel Saga when Good Excell brutally murdered Bad Excel?

No, Peter's "good" definitely blammed his "bad." Trying to get him to visit Joe, I think...
But, that is a pretty good theory...what does that make fallen angel Flonne, then? Corruption?

Either A; A plot device to make a good ending possible (I'm not sure which ending you see fallen flone in, I've only seen the normal ending, which made me very sad) or B; An embodiment of the fact that even demons can be "good" and feel love and all that sappy stuff flonne says at the ending of the game.

Part of it, I think, is that concepts such as love, comradship, good and evil, don't simply possess a single dimension, as well as how who we are matters more than what we are. This actually seems to be a running theme to the game.
For instance, Flonne's Pendant. The thing scorched Vulcanus, an angel, and yet didn't do anything to Vyers...
Y'know, Vyers? Dark Adonis?
...
...Mid-Boss ¬_¬
And an example of the the multiple dimensions of love, comradship etc is with Laharl and Etna, after the whole mess with Maderas is cleared up, despite all the rantings about the nature of demons, we see that these two are pretty close (considering how much Laharl usually rants about destroying those who defy him).
I suppose Fallen Angel Flonne is part of the whole idea. Flonne is who she is because she is Flonne, the lessons she has learned and the things she has done made her who she is, not what she is. Changing her to Fallen Angel just gives her a different colour scheme and a tail ^^.

I can't remember where I read it, but someone once described Flonne's satus as fallen angel as making her the intermediary between heaven and hell. I think this is probably one of the most acurate descriptions of the title. But yeah... you're also quite right, it also shows that midboss isn't evil either (but I still wonder why exactly he was allowed through the gates of heaven any time he wanted..)

Akutare She's a demon. Some demons have tails and wings. Some don't. She could be an Empusa, though. One of my RP NiS Characters, he has wings and a tail like Etna also. *shurg* An Empusa with a flat chest! gonk

And the order of events isn't the same.
Still, seeing the defenders of the earth shot skyward each episode is fun ^^

I think the sudden events may have been geared more towards people who have already played the game. They should be most accostomed to the characters being there and it would feel awkward to them with out it.
