Hey people! first of all i have the layout for the march issue started i just need some submissions so could everyone get those in as soon as possible! I'm really sorry about lately my computer broke down and we had to wait a while to get a new one, my parents blame it on gaia so i kinda have to sneak on!! just PM me your submissions along with anything else you want to include! pictures special fonts? anything i would like to have everything in by no later than feb. 24th. i will get the lists up by then of who is participating and we might have a vote for member of the month!!! let's see how this goes!!??!!

About the Just for Fun section:
1) Is Fiyori_Takeshi doing this secion? (someone replied to her post asking her to do one, but she didn't reply again after that) Or is someone else? I just thought it would be a good idea to check before I start doing things for it.
2)How do you do things like crosswords or word searches?
I can find a bunch of crossword makers online, but not one that gives you a url or anything. They all just give you something to print, normally in the form of a pdf file. Anyone got any ideas on how to do this?

Lorrieta please use this thread to let people (like Lyra) know what's going on with the Monthly!
That's the best way to make sure the Monthly is easily published. Remember you have until March 1 to post the March Issue of the Monthly!

I like that idea, though I think a name without the word "elves" in it would be better because it's not just elves that can cook. We should have a few recipes each month. I would be happy to submit a recipe if I get the time; I've been doing a lot of baking lately. Still got about a week before Lorrieta wants the HM submissions so I should have plenty of time. Someone please remind me about this recipes section in a couple days. I may forget.
Lorietta: I am currently attempting to make a crossword but have run into some technical difficulties. Please bear with me while I try to sort them out/find a way around them. I'm also trying not to use the same questions in the trivia as are in the crossword. And I'm using questions only from the first book. I figure next month I'll do the second book, and so on.

Thoughts?kstar13 As a suggestion, since we do happen to be part of Hogwarts and the wizarding world and all that, perhaps you could include things that happen in blank month, like "Harry Potter defeated voldemort on this day" or "The recent Minister of Magic has a birthday on the 3rd!" Or something like that. Maybe not necessarily the birthday section, but its a suggestion.

My current thinking is that you should do the section, but you need to consult Lorrieta about it if you would like to, wherever she is. You did the research to find the events, so it's not much more to turn it into a HM section. Just put a few sentences at the beginning, and then "births" "deaths" and "other events".
I think a title something more like Wizarding World Flashback (or Wizarding World Past Events or Wizarding World History) would be better, as it is NOT strictly Harry Potter's world.
Are we going to do a recipes section? If you approve it, I'll gladly take it on if nobody else wants to. [Chissy_Brown may want to, as she suggested it (though there was also one in the ghostly if I remember rightly). But she may want to take on the history/past events thing instead.]
Also, I seem to have found a way around most of my technical difficulties. (There's just a couple other things that may cause problems, but I'm not sure if they will. Hopefully not.) Shouldn't take too long, though I've had to sort of redo things. It's a lot of trial and error. My presence may be scarce the next day or two (very busy IRL), so expect my submissions sometime between that and the 24th.

Chissy_Brown- of course you can make a section about the dates in the books, it seems, as lyra stated, that you have done all the work! just add a few sentences and it will be good to go... please dont post it here though. send it to me through pm!!!
