Haradhel nodded at Donovan's question. "Technically, winter is still a few weeks away, so I would say ... you might have time, depending on where and if there's a group nearby that you can hunt. But you would have to ask Ulani about that. She's the only one who can tell you where there would be a group and if you would have the opportunity to get them."

She turned to Kara. "Well," she murmured, "as far as I know, everyone is out working ... Elberon in the stables, fighters on shift ... and so on. Elrohir is out getting wood, Ahren is out hunting with Adanedhel ..." She counted them off on her fingers. "Arahad is probably out helping Adonijah with Ulani and Ulrich's farm ..."

She bit her lower lip thoughtfully, trying to think of who she might have missed.

Donovan nodded, "I'll head over and talk to Ulani then, if I can't we'll be staying anyways."

He set down his bag and tried to pry his glasses back from his daughter before it got drooled on though that was probably too late. Donovan really didn't mind in staying, it was a good catch to up.

"I see," Kara murmured as she lifted the towel so she could easily get Hope in place to feed her.

Haradhel smiled at Donovan. "Maybe if you go on a hunt, you could take Arahad," she suggested. "He's gone a few times now, I think you'll find him a great asset to the team."

She laughed as he retreived his glasses from his daughter. "Would you like me to take her so that you can go and get on with your business?" she offered, holding her arms out to him.

Donovan raised a brow, it sounded like she knew something he didn't, but that's generally how it went. He handed Faith over to Haradhel.

"Careful, those tiny wings beat at random and it's not nice if you get them in the face. This is Faith, she had the green bracelet."

He pointed to Hope who was too busy feeding, "Hope has the white one."

They were actually solid jade bracelets as tradition to give it to little girls, it was a good thing jade came in other colours besides it's well known green shade.

Meanwhile at Aliya's front door....

"Can I?" Naida asked, "Can I? Can I? Can I??" Naida pleaded with her mother as she wiggled her tail. While Naida could walk she preferred not to and couldn't hold it for long periods of time like Feng and Ryu.

Feng smiled, "Alright, but let your Uncle Ryu get close to catch you just in case...."

"Yay!" Naida exclaimed as she focused really really hard.

Feng could feel Naida slip through her arms as her little girl floated up until the little girl was flying, or swimming in the air.

"Hehehe...." Naida giggled as she did a loop de loop before knocking on Aliya's door something she's always wanted to do.

Lore kept an eye on Hana even though she was most likely to just go and play iwth her brother.

"So now Arahad is all grown up," Lore murmured, "Has anyone gotten married or had children since we were gone?"
PostPosted: Sat Oct 10, 2009 3:34 pm

Haradhel had to think about that as she took Faith from Donovan, careful about the child's wings. "Well, it's been a while since anyone was here," she murmured. "Give me a moment to think ... Adanedhel and Rose have two boys, Ecthelion and Kadmiel ... Alyse and Timaeus are married now, they have a daughter, Jasmine ... I ... think that's all the ... changes ..."

She looked thoughtful. "You knew of Arwen's marriage, yes? She's off with Roydon in the Southland ... they have a daughter, Leyenda. Ten years old already." She looked quite proud - but then, she had a right to be, it was after all her only grandchild so far.

Suddenly she spotted Corrah and Armus out in the hallway, and she looked at Donovan curiously. "Who is that?" she asked, nodding towards the two.

It was an average day for Aliya, and after doing the general housework early that morning, she had turned to other things that also needed doing: mending, patching of clothes, repairing and care of weapons, and at the moment she was sitting next to the fireplace in a rather comfortable chair, keeping warm and occupying herself quilting together a blanket. She was lost in her thoughts, and she blinked in surprise at the knock at the door.

"Come in," she called out, wondering who it would be. After all, no one ever knocked, not in this area ...

Donovan made a note to ask Lin if she saw Arwen or not and ask about their kid. He was generally good at keep track of the family though it was getting harder and harder these days. He looked over his shoulder.

"Ah yes, Corrah, Armus we're all in here. I'd like you to meet Haradhel."

He looked back at Haradhel pausing in what to say. He wanted this to be all good.

"They're Seconds, unfortunately it seems most of the Seconds have migrated from their original home so there isn't much for them anymore. They wanted to be here to do something useful. Aragost is already going to talk to Celeborn, I hope they'll do shifts here in Haven."

Naida giggled, she had always been taught it was polite to knock even though by now they could just open the door. She jiggled the doorknob a bit before opening the door. She flew ahead slithering around like a snake until she was looking over Aliya's shoulder.

"What cha making?"

Ryu hurried in after her, he still needed to catch her if her spell wore out. Leaving Feng to close the door behind them.

Corrah and Armus stepped forward, and Corrah bowed his head slightly to Haradhel. It was Armus who spoke. "Hello, Haradhel," she said, nodding politely. "I'm Armus, and this is Corrah."

"Armus," Haradhel smiled at the woman. "Corrah. It's wonderful to have you here, we can always use some more help." She tilted her head slightly. "You've been made aware of what we do here?"

Both of them nodded, but now it was Corrah who answered, "We have. I personally am ... not ... good with children, but ... if there is a position to be had in keeping watch or protecting, then I promise you, I will not fail you."

Aliya watched Naida as she floated into the house, and her eyes grew wide with amazement. But when Naida went behind her and looked over her shoulder, she couldn't help but laugh.

"Quilting," she replied, giggling and holding up the three-quarters finished quilt. "And I see you've learned a new trick." Her eyes shone as she looked up at Feng and Ryu who had followed the child in. "Welcome back, my friends," she said warmly.

"I was also hoping you or Elrohir or someone can brief them on this world, and generally be there if they have questions," Donovan added, "The Seconds World is very different, not just the history but the people."

He wasn't sure how much the two knew about non-Seconds or about the world they were entering to. Sure Idhril had told them about Haven, but how much she did tell them?

"Yup!" Naida waved her arms up in the air before her spell gave out and fell.
"Gah!" Ryu closed the last two step distance in a dive catching Naida, "Whew... why couldn't you learn to walk? It's less of a fall...."

Feng giggled as she made her way towards the others and reached down to give Aliya a hug. She was obviously amused by the whole thing.

"Because this is way more fun, hi Aliya!"

Haradhel nodded at Donovan. "Yes, of course," she agreed. "Though I wonder if Ulrich wouldn't be the best person for it? After all, he has been here the longest, and he's the person who's really in charge of everything ... as much as it doesn't seem that way at times."

She paused. "Better make it Ulani. She knows more of what's going on. Well, she'll be coming back here after you talk to her about a hunt, she always does, to fill Celeborn in on what's going on."

Aliya giggled and hugged Feng back. "Hello, all." She laughed again. "I will never understand where you learn all of these tricks." She set the quilt aside, mindful of the fire, and stood up to face her friends. "So," she grinned, "tell me of all your latest adventures!"

Donovan nodded at this, "Good idea, I'll go get her then."

He waved at Faith, he didn't have to bend over to do so seeing as Haradhel was taller than him (way taller than him).

"Be good and don't put things into your mouth."

He could swear his little girl was sticking her tongue out at him, but in reality he knew she was just hungry and was sucking on her own tongue. Trusting that hell wouldn't break loose in the next while, Donovan left to get Ulani.

"We've been trying to teach Naida to walk," Ryu told Aliya deadpanned as he got up from the floor still holding his niece, "It hasn't worked that well. She would rather fly than walk, but it's better to be in human form outside of the water...."

Less likely to dry out in his opinion even though it probably took more magic than flying.

"Mother found flying spirit fish, we're not sure what happened for her to find those, but Naida became inspired," Feng added, "I think she prefers that, and she can hang upside down which is a bonus for her. For some reason..."

"It's fun!" Naida protested.

Armus looked at Corrah, and then at Haradhel. "Should we be going with him?" she asked, jerking one elbow in the direction Donovan had disappeared.

Haradhel pursed her lips at the two. "Well," she murmured, "perhaps ... but you aren't dressed for the weather, and by the time you got some proper clothes on you would already be far behind ... Donovan said he was going to bring Ulani or Ulrich back with him, so we'll just wait for all of them to get here again. In the meantime, just go ahead a warm up a while. Make yourselves comfortable. We'll get you some rooms later."

Elnara turned to Lore. "Speaking of which, we should get the twins changed into their warmer clothes," she murmured. She poked through her bag until she found the clothes they were looking for and then pulled them out. She handed one set of clothes to Lore, and then called the twins to them.

Aliya was amused. "Teaching Naida to walk is an adventure?" she grinned. "Then what do you call her learning how to fly?" She grinned at Naida. She understood how the girl felt. She had also been a spirited child, she would expect nothing less from the daughter of her rambunctious friends.

Kara smiled a bit as she peeked under to see if Hope was finished feeding. She should probably get them changed too after feeding, it was a good thing she thought she finished those mini wing warmers in time.

"It's a good thing we packed more than one set of seasonal clothing," Kara murmured, "Though lately we seem to be coming when things are getting colder...."

"Complete trouble," Ryu murmured, "Because she had reach everywhere...."
"And it lasts longer than having legs because you're not changing yourself physically," Feng added, "So if it weren't for the height she's at, it's kind of safer."

Which was a relative term when it came to Naida, after all it was Naida.

"But it's fun!" Naida protested, "Besides I'm a mer!"

Who wanted legs when she could have her tail? Her tail was much prettier than her legs.

Taking one of the sets of clothing that Elnara gave to him, Lore held out a hand and also called the twins over. The first one to reach them was of course Garrick, he wasn't surprised, though Lore had to check to the clothes to see whose clothes he had gotten.

Probably Hana's since that was whom was often handed to him, so when she arrived he picked her up.

"Really?" Haradhel questioned, tilting her head slightly. "I never can keep track ... still, the way our worlds are so ... misaligned, I suppose it's best to always be prepared for any type of weather."

Elnara smiled at Haradhel's comment. "One of these days, we'll figure out some way of guessing the general season when we come through the portal," she grinned as she got Garrick changed. "It's a fairly set difference after all, isn't it?"

Aliya looked at Naida. Height? Did being taller make it more dangerous?

"But it was my understanding that it's at that age that the Second children start to have a little bit of control over their magic," she ventured hesitantly. "So wouldn't it have been even more dangerous when she was smaller? At least, that's the understanding that Celebor gives me ... though admittedly, I don't think any of his children know magic at all ..."
