I chose to acquire the personal Taijutsu style of the fallen Sennin. His fighting style itself." Kimiko looked at him surprised.
"What seriously? Wow." she tilted her head slightly. "I didn't think you liked Taijutsu."
Xen balanced a tag on his finger "It's not a matter of liking it or not. My clan is actually predispositioned to be physically weak. But in my opinion, that's all the more reason to attempt to excel at it anyway...isn't that how you would treat a deficiency?"
Kimiko actually smiled "Yeah, I guess your right. I guess as my rival I shouldn't expect any less from you. But," she looked innocently curious. "what kind of style did he use anyway? I mean, is it like Raine's?"
Xen chortled "No. I'm all for overcoming weakness, but there's no way that my body would be able to endure HIS suicidal art. I believe that Raine learned his Taijutsu elsewhere, probably from someone with the same bloodline." he looked more serious. "Over all it's a very adaptable style, I've looked it over a few times and it seems based about the idea of reading your opponent, reacting, and turning their own strength against them... one of his most prominent notes consisted of "Be like water.""
Kimiko involuntarily twitched "W-water..." she seemed to regain herself. "I mean... that sounds pretty complicated...do you think you'll be able to master it from just a bunch of scrolls?"
Xenon shrugged "They are very detailed notes, and besides, most everything I've learned about being a ninja has come from books and scrolls. So it's hardly a handicap for me." he turned his hawk like eyes to her now "So what did you procure?"

Kimiko seemed excited now. "Oh this is so cool! You'll never believe it." she made threw a tag, activating it a little late, but exploding it perfectly. "I found the Shadow Clone jutsu." This caught Maboroshi's attention.
"What!?' He looked actually surprised now. "The signature clone of Kohnoha?"
Kimiko was bouncing on the bottoms of her feet "Yeah! Isn't that awesome!" she seemed almost ecstatic. "I still can't believe it."
Xenon seemed slightly serious again. "The shadow clone jutsu... doesn't that require incredibly high amounts of chakra to safely use? You'd need Jounin level chakra."
Kimiko got a cocky grin on her face. "Yeah, that's why I've been working on my chakra reserves recently, but," she put her hands behind her head. "If I'm right, then I should be ready in...maybe like a few days or so. I think I'll be ready by then."
Xenon looked slightly surprised, then seemed to become unreadable. 'Hm, can she be serious...or is this just another crazy idea she's got in her head...' he actively frowned, watching as she tossed another partial explosion. 'Kimiko's always shown an immense potential for growing quickly... but there's no way she could damn near double her chakra reserves so quickly... our chakra reserves used to be nearly identical...'
Kimiko looked at the tag she was about to throw with squinted eyes. 'Maybe if I spread the ignition out a bit more, and didn't overdo it like Maboroshi said...hmm...'
Xenon examined the tag in his own hand. 'Kimiko Momoe...you are truly...' he looked away, a smirk covering his face 'My rival...'

(WALRUS!!! Well it worked for Kimiko anyway. At least this is a "training time" exercise...)
Kimiko took a deep breath, checking the chakra density of the tag one more time. "Okay... I think I got this." she hurled the tag, watching it fly out over the sand pit, she pulled the trigger in her mind, and the explosion that followed filled her with pride. "That's three!" she was smiling. "I think I've got it!"
Xenon watched her with a small glint in his eye. "Well done Momoe-san. You mastered it even before me." he didn't seem in any hurry to do so himself. "So tell me, Momoe-san, why do you wish to become strong?"
Kimiko looked at him somewhat surprised "Huh? What's that all of a sudden?"
Xenon continued to smile. "Humor me."
The girl blinked slightly bewildered before she smiled and her enthusiasm returned. "I should think you'd know that by now Maboroshi. So I can be a true heroine and help as many people as I can. Why? Why do you want to become strong?"

Xenon adjusted his glasses holding the tag out before him as he faced the sand pit. 'As I thought.' "Well...there are many reasons I suppose. But most of all, I want become the absolute strongest..." his golden eyes gave a hint of chakra like shimmer. "The most powerful being in the entire world."
Kimiko looked a little taken aback. "The best Shinobi in the world!?"
Xenon shook his head. "Not just Shinobi, the most powerful being. The unchallenged strongest out of any living creature whether it be living, dead, or demonic. I aim to surpass them all."
Kimiko stared at him, apparently not thinking this nearly as upsurd as it was odd. "But why? What's the point of just aiming to be strong? I mean, strength helps... but if you ask me it's just a means to an end right? What is it you'd do with all that strength?"
Xenon gave her a devil may care grin. "Why, take over the world of course."
She nearly fell over and regained her balance to scold "Maboroshi!"
He laughed. "I'm joking...that's not my style." she became passive again as she listened and he continued. "No I want to become the absolute strongest so that no one can stop me from doing whatever I want. I don't know what that might be yet."

Kimiko crossed her arms suddenly looking hopeless. She sighed "That's so like you Maboroshi. You just want to be able to be selfish and have no one strong enough to stop you." she suddenly gave him a confident grin, looking away but still catching him with a side glance. "Well too bad Maboroshi,your dream will never come true."
Xen returned her sidelong gaze, apparently entertained. "Oh? Is that so?" he continued to flip the Tag between his fingers, with a twinge of a smirk he asked. "And why is that Momoe-san?"
She closed both her eyes in a boisterous smile. "Because I'm going to be there to stop you from being selfish of course. It's my duty as your eternal rival and Heroine to your Anti-Hero." she put her hands on her hips "I wouldn't worry though. I'll have changed you to the side of Love and Justice WAY before you become that strong. So it doesn't matter."
Xenon gave a satisfied chuckle. "Well of course you'd say that now. But what if, Oh ever persistent nemesis-"
"Rival."
"Sorry, rival, it's hard to keep up these days. What if our story is, dare I say it, a tragedy, I might get a shot at my dream yet."
"Blasphemy!!" Kimiko yelled suddenly back to her overly dramatic anger. "Justice and love will always win!"

Xenon tossed a tag half heartedly, his eyes still on Kimiko as her eyes burned with drama. She was SO amusing when she got like this. He could toy with her mind for days and never tire of it. She really was his favorite plaything. "Hm, I suppose I'm just out of luck then."
Kimiko calmed a little too quickly. "Exactly." Kimiko faced back towards where Raine was working. "So, Maboroshi, we're going to be sparing after this right?" Xen nodded. Dare she ask him the question she'd be wondering herself. "Can I ask you an honest question?"
Xen gave another slight smirk. "Only if you don't mind a dis-honest answer." she gave him a chastising glare. "Go on."
She did just that. "Do you think you could beat Raine?"
"Yes."
She seemed taken aback "T-that was quick." she hadn't been expected his answer to be so sudden. Raine, though younger than them, was incredibly powerful when it came to fighting. He was fast, he was strong...and with his bloodline he was built like a fortress. Even if he his chakra control was...well, nearly nonexistent, in a fight he was in his forte.
Xenon looked his usual, borderline lazy, self again. "Raine's physical defenses are impressive, making my Senbon less than effective, I attack the mind however....making it anyone's guess at who might win. I do not KNOW if I will win should we fight, but I am certainly capable of the act."

"Why," he through an almost perfect explosion "Do you think you could beat him?"
Kimiko seemed to think it over. "Well..." suddenly she looked at Xen somewhat disconcerted "Hey wait...do YOU think I could?"
Xen shrugged ever so slightly, examining the next tag meticulously. "It's possible I suppose. Your Grand fireball jutsu is nothing to sneeze at, if you have indeed been building up your chakra reserves as you say, you might simply be able to over power him." he seemed like he was thinking the possibility over. "I doubt that ever impressive Kekke Genkai of his would be effective against it..." he shrugged again. "I can't be sure."
Kimiko was nodding. "Hm, well. I heard about this other Jutsu that might bypass his defenses too...I think it was called-"
"Hien." Xen noted pushing up his glasses. His rival looked at him and confirmed.
"Yeah that was it! You heard about it too?"
Xenon gave his small smile again "Actually I researched methods used to combat Tekkenseisai shortly after meeting Raine. Hien was one of the most potent ways I found of evening the playing field."
Kimiko looked slightly exasperated now "Geez Maboroshi, he's our teammate, don't you think that was a bit shrewd?"
"And yet you were the one who brought it up." Kimiko started to interject but he finished "At any rate he wasn't my teammate then. I met him before the Genin exams remember?"
Kimiko crossed her arms. "Well...fine...but any way." she looked up towards the sky. "I wonder if I could beat him with my grand fireball..."

"Say Maboroshi..." her rival just tossed another tag, the explosion slightly off, just like the one before it. "Are you even paying attention to those tags your throwing?"
Xenon blinked "Oh, yes, yes, of course I am. Any way Momoe-san there was something else I wanted to ask you."
Kimiko seemed open "Sure. What?"
Xenon frowned "Your mother...did she used to be a rogue-nin?"
Kimiko was taken aback. "My mom...well," she seemed slightly suspicious now "Yeah. But, how did you know? When did you meet my mom besides graduation day and a few weeks ago?"
Xenon seemed pensive. "That was enough."
Kimiko seemed to accept this answer. She'd underestimated Maboroshi's intelligence on more than one occasion, and she was the one who always ended up looking the fool. She just crossed her arms slightly reluctant. "Yeah. She was. How could you tell?"
Xenon seemed slightly tense. "Many things. The way she speaks, her bearing... she's clearly not out of state for active duty, but the village has retired her, as well as your father, who married her." he looked over at Kimiko "And now you, a girl with no blood line to speak of and scores which are less than impressive in class, are placed on a team of the Village's top Genin... almost like they expect something from you..."
Kimiko seemed to just be realizing the truth of his words. "I...I never thought about it... but, that's wrong."
"Hm? Which point?"
Kimiko seemed a little reluctant. "Well... I actually do...have a blood line."
Xenon was actively surprised. "Oh really? Is that so?" she seemed considering "Which blood line if I may be so bold. Why have you never shown any signs of it?"
Kimiko didn't seem in any real hurry to talk about it. "Well... apparently it's the Masuta clan or something like that. I don't really know if I have a real Kekke Genkai or anything."

'The Masuta clan ...I'm not familiar with it...yet.' He looked at Kimiko with a moderate reappraising as he tossed another tag, this one's execution nealy perfect. Nearly. "So this bloodline...what exactly is it's origin?"
Kimiko shook her head. "I actually never learned that much about it. I mean, I've never really wanted a bloodline, I've always felt like people who have are...well cheating or something." she looked at him. "Uh, no offense."
He gave one of his slight smirks "None taken. I can understand your point of view. I believe your not alone in thinking that way." he seemed to fall pensive again. "Do you at least know what it's supposed to entail?"
Kimiko seemed to try to recall. "Well, I think it had something to do with Blacksmithery...you know, like making weapons and other things like that."
Xenon curved an eyebrow. 'Interesting...'
Kimiko turned about, wanting to change the subject. "So...what's up with that crow of yours anyway? I mean..."
Xenon actually followed her gaze "Ah, don't let Mokutan put you off. What was it you say about me? He's not as bad as he seems right at first?" He chuckled at the look on her face. "His story is his own to tell, ask him yourself if you like."

Kimiko looked up towards the tree the bird had settled in and called "Um...is it...Mokutan?" The Crow seemed to hear her as he turned his head her way. "Could you...come here?" it was a question.
The bird snickered, taking off at once and soaring back to his master's shoulder, bypassing Kimiko entirely. Xenon tilted his head to left slightly to give the bird room to settle as he answered "What's up babe?"
Kimiko coughed slightly "Ahem. My name's Kimiko you know."
"Gotcha, Kimi-tan. What can i do for ya?"
Kimiko twitched slightly at the cutsie little nickname. He'd even gone so far as to add the "-tan" suffix... this bird annoyed her already... "Um...I was just wondering." she tried to suppress her annoyance and looked passive again. "What's your story? I mean...why are you suddenly calling Maboroshi Boss and following him?"
Mokutan flipped the side of his bird like head, switching the side he was watching her with. "What are ya talkin about, I've been callin Chief that since before he even came to this village Kimi-tan."
Kimiko seemed suddenly intrigued. Did that mean this bird knew Maboroshi before that? Maybe she could find out more about his past! That could seriously help her in her endevor to change him to the side of good...this was great!
However Xenon's eyes suddenly fell intense, and Mokutan fell unnaturally still. Kimiko looked at them both slightly bewildered for a moment before she followed there gaze. She saw Raine and Sensei talking to someone...who could...
"Who's that?" it was the crow that had beat her to the question, looking to his master.
Xenon seemed to narrow his eyes in ascertainment. "I'm not sure...never seen him before. You Momoe-san?"
She shook her head curiously "I don't think so...it's hard to tell from here..."
Xenon started to walk forward "Well let's go say hi then."
Kimiko looked back at the sand pit. "But...don't you want to finish learning this jutsu?" she flinched slightly as the tag flew by her, detonating spectacularly over the sand.
Xen was looking back with a stern gaze. " Well look at that. Done." Mokutan snickering, Kimiko followed after the pair, apparently not needing telling twice.

Hiro had walked into what looked like some training ground. There were people scattered about; most of them looked around his age. They were practicing with exploding tags. He smiled from underneath his helmet and remembered his branch's first jutsu- Suicidal Explosion. Maybe he would take the time to learn it while he was here, depending on how he was welcomed. He leaned against a tree and watched everyone from afar. He would wait for a little bit to see if someone decided to approach him, but if they didn't he would go ask. He didn't want to seem hostile. For all he knew, he could be in some kind of bingo book somewhere.

Dash heard approaching feet back behind the HQ, only the team should have been here and he turned to see a boy. "Yo." he lifted his chin up and stepped away from the others. It probably wasn't the best place for civilians to be hanging out, near the explosions and all. If this was some chump who wanted these guys autographs from the stories about the village attack Dash was going to show them out. He felt the swords on his back and smiled at the thought of a quick practice session.
"What's up?" He approached the stranger nicely enough. Well.... he didn't like people interfering with his trainings.
(Maybe we can throw him into the spar?)

Hiro eyed the man approaching him and pulled off his helmet to try and lessen the intimidation a man in a full suit of armor might have. He looked the man up and down and asked, "Have you ever seen me around here before? Around Otogakure?" Hiro then looked behind him at the kids practicing with exploding tags. This was academy stuff. "Are they.. Students?" He asked, looking back to Dash. He seemed much older than himself.. And possibly stronger. Hiro had doubts though. From what he remembered, he was pretty strong for his age. Wait- what was his age?

Dash raised an eyebrow. Okay, some crazy nut was going around now. "Hey are you okay?" he said, tuning in to himself and the area around becoming aware of his situation in case of anything unexpected. When the boy went off about his students Dash was a bit worried.
"No genin. Pretty good ones too." he searched for areas to pierce through the amour, he chose a kill spot and a wound spot. "You need something?" Dashes eyes were sharp behind the bright sunglasses he hoped the other wouldn't noticed anything but of course....
"Hey whose that?" Raine cut in. Stepped away from his training and making his way to the two others. Stepping next to Dash, who was about to say "get out of here kid" he froze. His mouth agape, the face before him... A memory of ultimate pain shuddered through him and the boy twitched before stepping forward.
"I know you." his soul soured, this was the person he had met the day Hatchi died.
