(edited) A bolt of lighting whizzed passed his ear, demolishing the stone wall opposite of him. Geltran had just barely been able to avoid being struck by the bolt. Quick of mind and quicker still in reflexes he managed to leap and roll behind a giant stalagmite a moment before the projectile came. He tucked a stray strip of the red forelock behind his ear. He had stark white hair with the exception of the crimson streak through his bangs. Mustering up his bravery, Geltran peeked from behind the pillar, only to be met by another streak of lighting. Once again, luck was on his side and the Elder Boy of Rylinndar was able to take cover without being decapitated.
Geltran was familiar with the spell this particular wizard was using and if his calculations were correct, that was the third bolt; therefore, no more bolts until the required rejuvenating time was met. Three minutes.
Three minutes to get to that broken pillar, the one Geltran was hiding behind when the first bolt struck, causing it topple over. Luckily it had, as he planned, fell toward the wall where the wizard stood on a slab stone that jutted out from the wall of the cave. If anything Geltran was a very intelligent male. Manipulating the opponents own power against them, knowing the extent of their ability, and using the environment to his benefit. He was indeed a skilled fighter, very resourceful and knowledgeable.
With a deep breath in, he reached behind his head to grip the hilt of his giant b*****d sword, Orgoll, which was strapped to his back and pulled it free. The blade was far too big to fit in a full cover sheath, so a structure of black buckled straps held the sword to him. The blade itself was forged of black diamond, making it very durable, no blade was sharper. Made by the hands of the best smith, Orgoll was the most deadliest, yet beautiful weapon. The blade, though made of diamond, was of smooth texture and appeared like normal steel except it was as black as obsidian. The only discoloration to the blade was the silver vein tracing up the middle from the broad, platinum cross guard to the blade's tip. The handle, also platinum, was wrapped in purple cloth, a spider engraving decorated the hilt.
Exhaling the breath, Geltran switched the b*****d sword to his left hand. His left side would be facing in the direction of the enemy, so he would need to have his defense up in the direction as well. Thank Lolth he was born ambidextrous. Breaking into a full sprint he raced toward the fallen stalagmite, his black and amethyst armor clashing together all the while. No need for silence now. A series of throwing daggers came flying his way, but Orgoll easy dismissed those. A few good strides brought Geltran to the base of the pillar and with a powerful leap he was atop of it.
With expertise balance he ran the length of the stalagmite, each step bringing him closer to the wizard. However, the stalagmite would not reach the all the way to the slab. No problem. It was not Geltran's intentions to come face to face with the enemy, especially not a wizard at full strength and perfect health and most definatley not an Illithid wizard. Once he was almost to the tip of the pillar he retrieved three small, cylinder capsules from his amethyst belt, holding them between four fingers. Pushing off the end of the stalagmite, Geltran went soaring through the air. Sword held defensively in front of him, he hurled the tiny orbs. One landed at the wizard's feet, another at the base of the slab, and the last landed at the back of the slab where it connect to the wall. All three went directly to their targets and they all exploded on contact.
Geltran performed a series of aerial flips before he landed in a crouch to absorb the shock of the ground. A black scorch mark scared the cave where the slab once was. Plumes of smoke rose from the rubble on the ground. Large pieces of stone was scattered upon the ground, a mound of broken rock lay beneath the black scar, the explosion had even caused the stalagmite to completely fall and dismember.
Once the smoke and dust began to settle Geltran was able to see the shifting within the heap. Rocks fell to the side and rolled along the mound as a set of tentacles poked out and the illithid was able to free himself from the stone prison. Stumbling from atop the mound, the wizard struggled to stand. His right leg was obviously seriously injured, left arm broken, one tentacle was limp, he was covered in dirt and blood, and his robes tattered.
The misshapen creature went for the wand secured in the sash around his waist. Faster than the eye can perceive, Geltran put the tip of his boot under a medium sized rock and with a flick of his foot the rock jumped up in front of him. With a swift and precise kick, the rock soared across the distance and met harshly with the opponents wrist, snapping it backwards. The wand dropped to the floor as the illithid released a painful scream.
Distracted by its agony the creature did not notice the drow quickly crossing the distance between them. With the massive sword gripped in both hands Geltran swiftly decapitated the illithid. The head rolled away and the body slumped to the ground.
With his duties fulfilled, the Weapons Master made a fast pace back to the Rylinndar castle to report the incident, dodging the corpses of the scouting party who did not survive. Geltran

Been doing surface elf art a lot, lately. biggrin for my rp buddy. We're currently doing a Norse Myth/Forgotten Realms/Silmarillion crossover alternate universe rp.

Chieftain Twilight sounds Epic! biggrin any Dwarves in that mix? =w= anywho, i needs goldsies. ;-; also, i wanna get something i can bribe Sere to do art for my Self-Made D&D Setting's NPC characters... >> No dwarves yet. xd None drawn anyway. Though the perpetually grumpy Bruenor and Cattie Brie get there eventually. I've got posts from Brenn's pov compiled into a solid long fic instead of an rp log, and a pair of fics compiled from the beginning of the Norse Aesir cycle before Ragnarok. We're so far in 'Homeland' the first Drizzt Do'Urden novel and we're seeing how much causality we can f*** up. For instance, what if Tyr had been there half the time to raise his half-brother, even if it was only though perilously infiltrating/sneaking into Do'Urden's House at nights? Drizzt's first positive influence would be from a drow surface-raiding MAGE, instead of from Zaknafein. >] Which would probably change a lot of things, since a Drizzt who was used to working with Magic AND who was skilled in blades would be a lot more fun to play with. And would likely be more versatile once he hit the surface. ...Tyr is very much parental. It's kinda weird, but he IS very much more like a surface parent than a drow sibling. Most likely because he's half aesir and given their pantheon's got empty spaces up the wazoo needing to be filled, they can't afford to condone or accept any infighting. In any case, I'm still curious, as to what your npcs are. xd And why Sere?
