Gleefully, Etain held on tight and giggled helplessly as the locks of the mane tickled her cheeks. This was almost better than flying!

Efi laughed happily and spun in place several times before saying over his shoulder, "Hold on tight, we're gonna go fast - " He took off at a gallop down the garden in a long lazy arc, moving fast enough that the landscape started to blur.

And this was even better than flying! Etain squealed happily, kicking her feet to the sides, careful to make sure she didn't hurt Efios. "Wheeeeee!"

"Wheeee!" Efi joined in gleefully. He looped around to gallop back up towards the house - fast, very fast!

Etain, absolutely certain of her safety since Efios was holding her, let go of one of Etain's shoulders and waved her hand in the air, feeling the breeze hit it. Oh, but there was the house already...

Efi felt Etain let go of his shoulders and rearranged his hold slightly to make sure she was secure. He was grinning widely by now; his young friend's obvious glee in the ride was infectious. He slowed as he approached the house again, trotting up to Shiro and carefully dropping to one knee to let him take his daughter back, bowing his head and chuffing with amusement.

"Papa!" Etain flung herself up into Shiro's arms and started babbling excitedly at him about the entire piggy-back ride, talking so quickly that her usual carefulness got shoved to the wayside and her words started slurring together.
Laughing, Shiro leaned in and kissed her forehead. "Yes, I saw. But what do we say when someone does something for us?"
Etain beamed up at Efios and leaned in, trying to hug him. "Thank you!"

"You're welcome, sweetling. I had fun too." Efi ruffled Etain's hair affectionately, still smiling brightly. "I think I'd better get going, though; I have some things I need to do. I'll come see you again soon."
He picked up the bag and looked up to Shiro. "Thank you again, so very much. It's been lovely to visit, and I'm quite sure this will be very useful." He bowed neatly and gave the other male a heartfelt smile before he turned to start down the path.

Shiromaru and Etain both waved as Efios left, with Shiro calling after him, "Please come by any time!" Once Efios was out of view, the pair looked at each other, smiled happily, and made their way into the kitchen. It was time to bake cookies.
Maybe they could send some to Efios...
