Overall I'd say Bulbasaur is my all-time favorite starter. However, from each region it'd go
Kanto: Bulbasaur
Johto: Cyndaquil
Hoenn: Treeko
Sinnoh: Chimchar

Charmander is my favorite starter because he evolves into Charizard, my favorite pokemon!

Guess i'll go by regions too.
Kanto: Squirtle
Johto: Totodile
Hoenn: Torchic
Sinnoh: I don't really care much for any, but i'll usually pick either chimchar or piplup evenly.
In the new game, i think i'll most likely pick the grass type, which looks like a charmander-ish creature.
My all-time favorite starter is Squirtle of course. I adore his first evolution Warturtle. It's bad-a**.

Hoenn:Three way tie between Trecko, Mudkip, Torchic
Sinnoh:Turtwig
Sorry Charmander and Bulbasaur fans but Squirtle is just plain old awsome
Todidile is just plain awsome
Hoenn was the first region where i liked all of them equially
Turtwig is the best he evolves into my fav Torterra and i was lucky when i i had no idea what i was doing the first time and started a new game i got a girl turtwig!

I usually go for the fire types, but Swampert was just too good to pass up. I have never used a grass starter lol
