At this point Schraeder collapsed.

He suddenly realized he had completely drained his stamina - not the energy well, there was still some left in there, but he couldn't keep dragging himself around as he was. Unfortunately, the concept of stamina remained true even with Sigil influence.

Host-Agent R caught Schraeder as he fell, looking at the man with a small amount of disdain for his apparent weakness. Schraeder hastily pulled away, dusting himself off as he stumbled back to the rock.

"We've decided," Host-Agent R said, signaling to Host-Agent B, "that you, the Eves, along with your companions the Adams, are to be commissioned by the government. You will be given authority and autonomy equal to ours, and you will work with us in stopping the Hosts and their ally, the Thief."

He looked at each of them in turn as he spoke. "Does anyone have any objections?"

Finnegan took the phone, unsurprised at Schraeder's sudden change in position.
"Oh, you'd be surprised, I assure you." he told him as he took the phone, "And thanks for the phone."

"Whoa!" he said abruptly as he reached out with his free hand to break Schraeder's fall, not really able to catch him from the sitting position.
'Are ye alright, now?"

Schraeder nodded weakly at Finnegan, waving him off.

In response to Host-Agent R, Schraeder shook his head.

Adela rolled her eyes at the boys' conversation of who could beat who. Eh. They'll give me practice concerning my ability. They'd all get beaten up, and then they'd need healing. Unless I decided to whup their asses in said fight.

She was surprised when Schraeder fell. "Damnit, man! Take it easy on that power of yours." Honestly, she was feeling a bit drained herself. At least we're not in the middle of a crisis. She turned her head to look at Agent R and said, "I've no issue with it. I just have one request." She gave a half smile. "I want to see my family."

At the mention of family, Schraeder had a sudden recollection of his dream and became very withdrawn.

Host-Agent R nodded. "I'm sure that's no problem at all. The only thing, obviously, is that you cannot mention anything regarding what we're doing, the government, the people, or anything like that.

"If anyone needs some kind of excuse or story to tell their families, we can provide one."

Adela looked hopeful. "I'll need that story for my folks. They won't let up until they figure out what happened." She wasn't good at coming up with lies.

Joneleth glowered at the carefree individual who simply appeared wherever he wanted and couldn't help but release a grin when he had overextended himself.

The young Brit was tempted to use his Sigil powers and slow the flow of time around him to prevent that little jump and simply walk behind him casually to place his sword beside Schraeder's throat.

The blade wasn't designed to cut flesh, so he would be in no real danger, but the message would have certainly been put across. Joneleth decided against it, considering the action purely a matter of pride and hubris choosing to continue his work until R came back.

After his arrival and conversation, Jon laughed with a bit of remorse and said,
"I have nobody left in my family. Those who would wish to know if I were alive or dead are merely greed-filled extended relatives and businessmen who hope my fortune will pass on to them. Let the buggers sweat, I say."

"Don't worry." Finnegan said to R as he dialed his brother's number, "Me family doesn't usually ask many questions, we're always out and about."
He hit send and held the phone to his ear as it rang. And rang. And rang.

No one picked up. "Huh, probably out runnin', no worries, that is, I'll just ask mum to let him know."

He dialed his mothers number and waited. Still no answer. "Well that's strange, enit? I'll just leave a message, I will. Just let'em know I'll be away for a while, now."

He waited for the answering machine. "'Ello, mum? It's Finnegan, jus' callin' in to check on ya. I'm gonna be gone for a bit, just thought I'd let ya know, I did. Could you let Saieve know when you see him? Love ya, mum, goodbye."

Finnegan hung up the phone and held it out to Schraeder, "Here ye are, thanks again."

Schraeder took the phone without responding, his eyes half shut and rather introverted. He didn't look up from the ground.

"As we've been commissioned, I'd like to point out that it looks like Agent R would like us to do our share of the work, which will be extensive," Lionel stated simply. "I don't intend to force you into anything, as I never had, and this is just the same workload as the one you've already accepted, but it's still something to think about. Now that you've fought him... he may not be very forgiving. We're luckier, he thinks we operate on orders, as he's blind to human nature. We could keep you safe, however."

"We need all the help we can get," Lizzie added as a counter-point.

"For now, however, rest would probably be in order. We could jump out of here or we could simply drive. It's entirely up to our government friends." Lionel nodded to Agent R.

"And then we see what The Thief's been up to..." Kevin added dully, the stone shield collapsing from his arm.

Host-Agent B hung up his phone. "Helicopters arrive in 5. Anyone that wants to teleport, that's fine too."
PostPosted: Wed Sep 02, 2009 6:04 pm

Adela wore a bright smile. "Yes! We're going home!" At the mention of teleportation, she turned to Schraeder with a wary glare. "You better be taking the helicopter. Or get one of them," she motioned to the Adams, "to take you back to your place." He was smart enough not to teleport, but there was always that macho pride to contend with. You never know when it comes to their egos.

Jon finally sheathed his sword, his forehead now quite thoroughly saturated with sweat.

The promise of a well-prepared meal and home comforts did sound incredibly tantalizing. He picked up his red coat and slung it over his shoulder.

"Seeing as my life was nothing more than that of a boring CEO of a steel company, I'll follow any orders given, it will be nice to be on the receiving end of strategy for once, business or otherwise. Call on me whenever I am needed and I will assist to the best of my capabilities."
