Lee picked up the mug and sipped it as well, and while she didn't find the taste of tea to her liking, she continued to drink it anyway, not wanting Rory's efforts to go to waste. "No, I don't." She shook her head before looking down at her dress. "... I'm gonna have to change soon, is all." She could use a shower, as well, but that could wait until later tonight. She wondered to herself where Lauss could be if Rhian was with Ellandra at the hospital. Hopefully he wouldn't get into too much trouble.

"Want me t' gae wait outside after brekkie so you can wash up an' change?" Rory asked, picking up a muffin. He suddenly felt very domestic. He rather liked the feeling.

"Eh, yeah, prolly." She sighed softly, for a slight second wishing she had the confidence to tell him he didn't have to step outside, tell him that the dress might be a little too complicated to take off on her own, even though it was clearly a simple sundress. Shaking her head a bit, she rubbed her arm and asked, "You didn't see Lauss on your way over, did you? He left before I woke up..." Taking another sip of her tea, she really was starting to get worried.

"Nae. I figured he might be wi' th' Gradys," Rory said, "but they went t' th' hospital, so he might be around the camps. I doubt he's gone far." He reached over to pat her hand reassuringly.

As if on cue, Lauss trotted into the vardo, carrying a small stack of book in his hands and donning a pleasant smile. Setting the pile onto Lee's bed, he turned to Rory and bowed before looking up at his master. "Miss Lee, I found text books in some tent area where I was told the school was. I haven't found the school yet, but I did find material to tutor you on." He was in a very pleasant mood as he'd get to exercise his purpose once more. What he hadn't realized, though, is that where he found those books was the school, not just some tents.
Lee's face dropped a bit, cocking her head at the essentic. "You stole them, then?"
Lauss shook his head. "No, I found them." Before she could say another word, Lauss changed the subject. "Miss Lee, may I borrow some money? I must buy Rhian a gift. She needs an umbrella still."
Lee turned to Rory with a slightly dumbfounded look, which quickly turned apologetic. "Eh, he doesn't usually do these things." That was half a lie; Lauss always did stupid things, just not criminal.

"He's just excitable. Likely where he got th' books wis th' school, lass," Rory chuckled. "Oi, laddie, w' got some brekkie if'n you want some. Rhian's at th' hospital wi' her family. Ellandra had th' twins."

Excitable, foolish, either word fit Lauss. The alter tilted his head, not understanding Rory when he said he'd probably been at the school. Had he not noticed it? Was he right next to it and didn't realize it? Perhaps he'd have to go searching again... Wait, babies? "Oh, Miss Lee, may we see the babies when they arrive home? I have little knowledge of infant anatomy. I hear they're very small." Lauss' enthusiasm was less for the birth and more for the knowledge of babies. Lee shrugged, looking away with a slight sigh. "I guess so..." A smile lit up on Lauss' face before he looked down at the muffins on the plate. "I may eat one?" He looked surprised, but bent down and took one, looking at it curiously before biting into it. "Miss Lee, may I borrow money?" he reminded her, food still in his mouth. "I dun have any money left..." She gritted her teeth a bit with shame, remembering that she'd need to get a job soon. "Oh. I'll find some, then." And with that, the essentic headed out of the vardo, muffin still in his hands.
"... At least he's okay... I guess..." Lee couldn't help but worry what he meant by "finding" the money, and hoped he wouldn't get into the habit of thievery. "Should I return those books?"

"Nae. They prolly gave them t' him thinkin' he wis a student. Not far from th' truth, aye?" Rory chuckled. He tilited his head, looking at her. "You strapped fae cash, girl? Could always help me wi' th' horses. It ain't hard."

Lee nodded, hoping Rory was right. "Eh? I couldn't do that... I mean, you'd get sick of me being around all the time." She shrugged, stating it like a fact. Plus, wasn't there some kind of rule where you weren't supposed to date co-workers? "I dunno if Faolan'll still give me a job now, though." They weren't married anymore, after all.

"Firstly, lass, I'll ne'er tire o' you," Rory laughed, smiling at her warmly. "Secondly, did he say he'd give you a job? Then he will. Didikai always keep a promise, girl. Also, w' take care o' our own. If'n you want a job, w'll find you one." He got up, drinking down the last of his tea, and set the mug down. "I'll gae on out so you can change now." He gave her an impish grin, blushing slightly--teasing was still new for him. "But leave th' door open in case I wanna peek."

Smiling down into her lap, Lee's cheeks turned pink; she was still sure, however, that he was just trying to be sweet. Tugging at the ends of her hair, she was a bit relieved. So, she'd have a job soon. "I guess I'll ask him about it then..." After the Gradys and their new additions got settled again, that was. Honestly, it was a scary thought, having to work, but at the same time very exciting. Lee watched as Rory stood, setting her cup down as well. "Okay..." Wait, had he been kidding? She wasn't sure... Still, she couldn't make it that easy for him. Giving him a very fake glare, she nudged him out of the vardo, actually closing the door behind her. If he wanted a peek, he'd have to work for one... Turning to the drawers, she found a change of clothes -- going with shorts instead of a skirt today -- and began undressing, watching from the corner of her eye to see if a certain boy did intend to peek.

Rory laughed as he was pushed outside, not minding the shoving for the feel of the girl's hands on him. He sat down on the vardo's steps, humming softly as he leaned back against the door. He had absolutely no idea what to do for the morning. He could show her the stables, but then, she said she wanted to go to work with him that afternoon. Maybe she'd like to spend time around the midway just playing games or riding the rides.

After she'd finished pulling on the last of her clothes, she noted that Rory, to her knowledge, hadn't even tried to look. He was a much more pure guy than she'd thought, feeling almost a little dirty for having thought he would. Looking in front of the mirror before she left, she decided she'd leave the mascara off for today and quickly washed her face before poking her head out the door. "Done."

Rory hadn't been expecting the door to open and yelped as he fell backward then grinned, looking up at her, trying to seem as if it was the most normal thing ever for him to be on the floor. "Howway tha', lass. I thought w' might spend th' morn at th' midway."

She'd decided wearing shorts was a wise decision. "Sounds good." Lee cocked a smile, suppressing a laugh as she stepped over him and down the steps, grabbing his arm and attempting to pull him upright with all her strength. "You're heavy..."
