Another Jazz III user here. I don't feel right using any other pick. wildredwolfx Ha HA! beatcha bitches! i use 2 mm size picks! (sorry.. just had to do that) I used to use a 3mm pick. talk2hand But then, I know a guy who uses this super-chunky pick that he carved out of bone. The thing's gotta be 6 or 7mm thick, I've got no idea how he plays with it.

I'm switching from pick to pick. I only use Nylon and Ultex that range from 1.0mm to 5.0mm for leads, I use Nylon and Tortex that range .78 to 1.14 mm for . I never got around to celluloid picks, though, and I swear by Dunlop. But I've been looking for some more out there. Any suggestions?

Sounds interesting. Anyways... I use hard picks. I find that I can get nice attack on the strings when I use hard picks and if I want a gentler sound I can just strum it at an angle and hit the strings gentler. On the other hand, with a soft pick, can't get a strong attack on the strings no matter how hard I hit it. Lol.

I started off with 3mm Big Stubbys, but people kept jacking them because they looked cool and at about a dollar a pick that didn't last long. Now I try to play .88s, mainly because nobody is interested in stealing them.

For the most part I use Ice Pix stainless steel guitar picks. They're paper thin and work really well.
When I"m not using Ice Pix I'm using .73 Medium pearloid picks.
