(Good job Tallith! Now for poor T'bell's torture. Anyone's free to make an attempt ^_^ just note that T'bell isn't leave his room and has...three small tables in front of the door since the rest of his furniture is too heavy for him. XD Pathetic barricade)

Liliath stretched her neck out of the shadowed opening of her weyr and bugled her congratulations as the queen was caught. A brown. Was her only not to T'bell, who was still attempting to find things to drag in front of the door. His head snapped up but before he could so much as stumble, Liliath had launched herself from the weyr. The queen was caught, and quite busy, and she was free to fly.

With another call, this one a loud alert to all the defeated hopefuls, she dove into the scattering clump of herdbeasts to find her first kill.

T'bell raced to the weyr ledge and felt his legs give out. He landed on the floor on his knees, peering over the steep edge at his disobedient dragon as she chose her kill. He knew what to do, he knew she was to blood, then fly. She never took much blood...he knew queens sometimes took two or more herdbeasts, but greens were different. Of course they were.

His mind rattled on, trying vainly to fend off the connection he knew would have to be made and as his green began to feast off her catch he leaned against the stone wall of his weyr and drew his knees up. 'Blood only, Lili.' She snarled and he repeated himself more fiercely, concentrating on his breathing instead of being taken over. It took a few repetitions before the headstrong green complied. Once more the shimmering green vaulted into the air, leaving the carcass behind.

| Erm, Round one, I suppose? Greens tire quickly and the others are probably tired as well, so it won't take very long |

((*cough*observationpostonly*cough*))

Kirana had spent most of the gold's flight just within the Weyr, peeking out every so often to make observations on the progress of the flight. As it ended, she had turned to return to her room until she heard the second bulge. Her head whipped around as she took the steps back towards the Weyr exit and raised her eyes to the sky.

She frowned as her eyes trained upon the all to familiar green, "Oh...T'bell..." She sighed, frowning heavily. Her heart went out as she tried to fathom what her dear friend most be going through at the moment. This must be a terrible strain on his heart, - as his mind was surely used to the process by now - being unsure of who or what he was going to have to deal with the next morning.

Kirana shuddered at the thought before turning and moving back into the Weyr, whispering softly to herself. She'd have to go and talk to him later tomorrow night...just to make sure nothing too bad had happened. Farnarth knows she'd kill anyone if they hurt a hair on his head.

A terrible hiss rose in Basarith's throat as he saw the brown take the queen, eyes whirling red now with outrage. However, the results where just that and it was too late for him to do anything about. Wearily he turned on a wing to head back to his weyr, muscles aching horribly from the flight.

V'lyrn finally regained his own vision and mind as Basarith privately admitted defeat and he stumbled from the Weyrwoman's Weyr, clutching his head from the light throbbing pain that lingered from such intense emotions and visions. He needed a drink.

Ariath was caught.

Siventh had done quite well towards the end, for a brown, at any rate. His easy pace throughout the flight has gave him the energy to keep up, and by focusing on the thermals, the trip was made even less difficult. But despite his best judgement, he had been too far back... When Ariath had begun to slow, the brown had summoned his remaining energy and put on a burst of speed, passing even the bronzes in their weary state.

But before his eyes, Tallith dropped from above and caught his gold... Siventh veered away, the purple already fading from his eyes. The Wingsecond dove past the bronzes and began an easy descent back towards the Weyr, masking his sorrow at the loss from even his rider.

Down in the Queen's weyr, K'rel snapped free of his dragon's mind, a brief moment of sorrow quickly giving way to overwhelming relief. He dropped to his knees as the adrenaline rush brought on by the flight faded, chuckling breathlessly and politely ignoring the couple now on the Weyrwoman's bed.

However, his relief was short lived. All to soon, he took note of Siventh's silence, happiness over the flight's ending fading in light of his brown's loss. Sighing, he climbed to his feet, eyes turning back towards the sky. Siv...? When there was no answer, K'rel started back for the door to return to his weyr, attempting to comfort his brown. Ahh, c'mon, cheer up.... Worse things could've happened. I mean, really, you did extremely well, you know? Keeping up with those bronzes... Don't be too upset.

"Tallith caught her."

K'rel winced visably at the bitter tone, but his reply was cut off by a bugle from the bowl. Blinking back his surprise, the Wingsecond sped his pace to find another ledge, finally making it back outdoors and turning his gaze towards the green, thanking the f ates for her timing. Go after her, Siv.

There was a long pause, and finally Siventh replied with a blunt: "Male rider."

The Wingsecond frowned, watching as the green dove on a herdbeast. ...Liliath?

"Yes." Siventh replied simply from somewhere above, still angling calmly back towards the weyr. His voice betrayed no emotion of any sort; this only upset K'rel further. Finally he waved out over the bowl, watching as the green took to the air. "Just GO. Anything to stop your sulking!"

He felt the dragon hesitate, but only briefly. Siventh rumbled his agreement, then bugled an answer to Liliath's challenge, altering his flight to soar after the green. His calm glide back had returned some of his energy; hopefully it would be enough to at least keep up. The purple light again rose in Siventh's eyes, gaze fixing on Liliath. Perhaps this time...

On the groun, K'rel smiled weakly when he heard his dragon take up the challenge, then reluctantly started for T'bell's weyr. All of this to make his dragon happy.... Shards, Siventh had better be grateful.

((observational post from me, too xd ))
Lemurrin's two firelizards had finally started to calm down from Ariath's triumphant flight when Liliath shrieked her own challenge to the tiring males. The harper sat up straight, catching the edges of Liliath's lust and T'bell panic from the flits. He knew that T'bell hadn't wanted his green to rise... he wanted to help him somehow, but there wasn't anything he could do.

Kalya had been in the infirmatry when the flight had started. Disappearing had seemed the best option as soon as she had caught wind of the ruckus. With Tarlith out of the way she would not have to worry about his new maturity. She still was not quite sure what would happen and was not ready to experiance the consiquenses.

Comming out from between over the Wery she realized her timing. "Shards! A green has taken the place of the queen!" She felt Tarl's response and tried to guide the blue to the her weyr. Tarlith rumbled, his eyes whirling with newfound lust.

Oh no you don't! I'm not ready for this. Kalya firmly applied her will to the large blue. She felt the answering surge of emotions batter at her psyche as the blue alighted in the weyr bowl just long enough to let her slip off before taking back into the air.

I fly, I have wings do I not? Tarlith spread his wings, beating them powerfully as he rose, kicking up the dust in his eagerness to join the shimmering green in the air. I am as good as a brown or a bronze am I not? His roar reverberated around the bowl as his long tail cleared the rim.

Kalya stood there in the swirling dirt unsure whether to walk or fly.

Zanylith vocalised his frustration, watching from the rear of the group as the brown claimed the golden prize. the oneness of his rider and himself began to unravel, and he turned on a wingtip, closing in a lazy circle on the ledge where Z'van waited. the purple faded from his eyes, eaten by a dull red swirl of anger and overall frustration; anger at himself for losing what should have been an easy flight, frustration that of all the weyr-mates participating, Tallith, a brown should beat him...Perhaps he should cut down on the herdbeasts, he was obviously losing his trim, speedy figure.

Z'van chuckled, listening to his dragon reason the loss of the flight. As he came back to his own self, he watched his mount laze in the sky, hide somewhat ashen from the energy expended. You need to feed, replenish your strength...

Zanylith chuffed. I feel fine, and besides- the bronze's thoughts were disrupted, and Z'van felt his mind swirl. He stumbled back against the rough wall of the ledge once more, his vision doubling momentarily and re-focusing high above the ground. She flies, she bloods, she rises!

What are you going on about? Zanylith! Tallith caught the Queen, she doesn't rise, she mates! Z'van gritted his teeth and ran a shaky hand through his sun-striped hair. Shards! A green? Z'van watched as his bronze caught a thermal and changed from his lazy downward spiral to a swift upward climb. His color was weak, he was running low on energy, even the blooding before the Queen's flight might not give him enough energy to last through another flight...and the green is bound to be well-rested, and blooding...You shouldn't do this, let the blues have her! Zanylith!!

The bronze bugled his challenge to the few dragons who had taken notice of Lilliath's rising. His frustration at losing the Queen would be worked off with this shorter flight. even lacking in energy, he was more than a match for the green; she was swifter, smaller, but she would tire quickly, even with the added energy of the blood...even the blue blooding on the fields below would be outmatched. The bronze's large multi-faceted eyes swirled a vibrant purple. Yes...this would do... I should. I am confident. T'bell is not accessible. It should not worry you. It will help me relax... Z'van could have sworn the bronze chuckled.

Zanylith swept his wings in a swift arc, halting his ascent and begining to circle. When the green rose, he would catch her!

|Round Two, it is|

Liliath climbed hin height with powerful wingstrokes, eyes a blazing violet as she took stock of her would-be opponents. She bugled again, the end trailing off into a loud hiss as she veered in the opposite direction from where the queen had taken her mate. It would do no good for the gold to manage to steal one of hers, not at all.

Catching a thermal, she used it to coast. A brown, Siventh, he could try to catch her. She rumbled in vicious amusement before she noticed the blues and screeched in rage. They would never catch her, she wouldn't allow it! She had made her promise but-oh, a bronze...

She sang a challenge again and darted past the rim of the weyr. They would fly to catch her.

Inside his weyr T'bell remained where he was, and was slowly relinquishing any sense of self he possessed, becoming one with Liliath as she rose. The blues nearly snapped his concentration and he let out a strangled cry, echoing Liliaths, as anger and determination flowed through thier link. She wouldn't let them fly her, no, she wouldn't. He knew she'd not go back on her word. No one would catch her, if he was lucky. She was the fastest green, she'd outfly them all.

Tallith's eyes whirled with an increasing glow of purple, as he angled his head to the side, wings tucked against him briefly as he fell; his talons outstretched.

In that brief moment his mind span, half expecting this to be another trick by the queen, and waiting for her to swerve out of the way or perhaps drop back so that he misjudged and tumbled past her.

He wasn't sure who was more surprised when his powerful brown talons gripped at her shoulders and with a fluid motion brought his head round to twine his neck about hers. There was no way he was ever going to let her go, she was his prize now, and the most beautiful one at that. Let the others keep their greens!

Then using the last of his remaining strength he spread his large wings and with great, rythmic sweeps tried to extend the flight as much as possible, thier bodies lowering in the azure sky as gently as falling leaves. Even as they began to descend the dragon felt his mind loosen, L'cian's conscience slowly draining and returning to his own body.

Vision returned to the rider, L'cian blinked slowly and found himself in a weyr, but not his own one that was for sure. His thoughts flitted briefly to his dragon who he was pretty sure was going to be as smug and cheerful for days to come. Yet anything else he might have thought about was swept from his mind as he felt Ephia move, and he returned her kiss with equal passion, strong arms tightening about her.

She could feel the wind rush through their wings, uplifting and powerful as the blue sweaped down upon the beasts to blood. Kalya was unable to absorb the ferocity of her usually placent weyrmate and her mind whirled in a tornado of emotions. She felt rather than heared the scream of anger at the two blues that had taken to the air. This green did not want their attention. The girl pulled back reflexively, regaining her vision for a moment. She had to find someone, anyone, someone safe, she shouldn't stay in the open bowl. Her body moved of it's own accord back across the weyrbowl, her mind already back in the open sky.

Tarlith pushed off into the air after blooding his third kill, he felt the power and lust sweap through his body and roared in answer to hers. She did not want a blue? It would be fun to try to catch her just to see her reaction. A rumbeling challange issued from his belly as his head swung round to the others in flight. He was nimble more than fast, he would have to be smart to catch this one.

Lemurrin huddled on his bed, his arms wrapped around his knees. The queen's flight had been powerful, but he knew Liliath and T'bell. He cared about them-- the green had even bespoken him! The harper wanted nothing more than to run to T'bell's weyr and hold him. Protect him from his own mind and memories...

Liliath's lustful, raging shriek echoed across the Bowl. The firelizards keened, their slim bodies vibrating with barely contained excitement. Lemurrin tried to block out the noise, but the flits kept projecting all sorts of images and emotions. He pulled a sleeping-fur over his head, curling up the fetal position.

The green continued to climb, and Siventh loyally followed behind, wingbeats focusing more on strength for the time to conserve what energy he had left. However, the brown sped his movements somewhat when he saw Liliath peer around to size up her followers. Siventh rumbled in amusement at her open disdain for the blues, smug in the fact that she had expressed no such contempt for him. A flight easily won at this rate, despite his weariness....

But a bronze had joined. Siventh's apprehension trippled, only to calm once more when he recognized the bronze from the Queen's flight. Had this bronze been fresh from the weyr, Siventh's chances would have died in an instant. But as it was, Zanylith seemed as tired as he himself. They had been fairly evenly matched the previous flight. If Siv could pull ahead for this one, it could already be won.

The brown dragon returned his focus to the green ahead, bright purple eyes gradually deepening to a darker, more lustful shade as he trumpeted his reply to her challenge. Siventh swerved to catch a thermal, powerful wingbeats propelling him after the smaller dragon. Memories of Ariath's flight quickly left him in light of this beautiful green's, emotions gradually growing back to their earlier level. This green, Liliath, she would be his.

Meanwhile, down in the weyr, K'rel was still working his way towards T'bell's weyr. Honestly, he had no idea where the greenrider's room would be, and grudgingly allowed Siventh's emotions to guide him towards it, all the while striving to keep enough control to make it there without falling off a ledge somewhere. Riders couldn't fly, a fact their dragons tended to forget at times such as this.

But, within a short while, K'rel did manage to find the appropriate weyr. He relaxed, relented more control to Siventh, and headed inside. Or, would have had the door opened. The brownrider paled, staring in shock at the blocked door. You couldn't keep riders seperate during a mating flight! ....He didn't even want to think about what this might cause. Maybe someone was already in there and had blocked it off to increase their chances...?

K'rel had no further time to worry. Even as he tried the door again, his dragon took over, thoughts merging with the brown beast flying after his green. However, despite Siventh's freedom, his rider in the weyr continued to struggle against the door. The desks alone weren't heavy, but together.... Well, hopefully someone would be able to move them.

She did not want the blues, she did not mind the brown, but certainly, given the choice, she would go for the bronze, wouldn't she? Zanylith flicked his head back, looking around and over his shoulder at the competition rising from the herdbeasts. The only real challenge here would be Siventh, who though powerful, was easily just as tired as Zanylith himself. The Queen's flight had been trying, and although the sun was now burning brightly in the sky and the thermals rising swiftly, flying the smaller, quicker green would be tricky, and outflying the large brown would take an effort. We do not think we can do it...we know we can do it.

The bronze watched with amusement as Liliath darted and Siventh followed, wings thrumming the air. With one quick sweep of his great wings and a mid-air lunge, Zanylith joined in the pursuit, bugeling a challenge to the brown. A brown! Again! He would not lose this prize so easily as the last. Imagine, losing to a brown two flights in the same day! Zanylith wouldn't stand for it.

He set his sights on the gleaming green, tantalizingly close, yet frustratingly far away. With a good push, brown or bronze could close the distance, but if Zanylith could keep Siventh back from the green, the bronze's superior stamina would win out over brown and green, and he would be the victor. Yes, that would work. Greens are quick and flighty, but if he could keep enough distance between himself and Lilliath, he'd be able to react quicker to her shifts in direction or altitude. And, if he could keep himself between Siventh and Lilliath, the day would be his. Perfect.

Zanylith bugled, the reverberating call filling the air as he caught a thermal, flicked his wings, and moved to intercept Siventh's path. Sure, trying to get in the way of another dragon wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do, but if he managed, one of them would have the change course or they'd collide. And it won't be me
