ooooh, I'm getting my tonsils out on Monday so I'm guessing next week will be a very opportune time for me to start in on books I've had forever and haven't gotten the chance to read yet... (and I need to stop smoking again, this time I'm really REALLY going to try and make it permanent -- sorry to those who didn't realize I started again, I'm kind of ashamed of myself) stressed

Smoking is so hard to quit! I did it almost 2 years ago, and still light up on occasion when I'm in clubs of with certain friends. In fact, last night was the first time I've been to a club since I quit that I haven't bummed a butt off someone! Take it one day at a time, and know there are people who can help give advice.

I don't smoke at all usually unless I have a drink. Kevin hates it cuz he smokes (but only about half a pack a day...i made him cute down from the 3 he WAS smoking when we met) He eventually wants to quit too...or at least get to like me where he'll only smoke if he's drinking. (which is only about once a week for us)

well i finished the Da Vinci code today, that was very enjoyable! i'd love to know how much of it is true, i find the iconography fascinating and i'd love to look into it further. i've never looked into paganism much but it seems a very natural thing to me and i'd very much like to learn more about it.

I'm about halfway through Angels & Demons, and it has similar iconography (and murder mystery.)

Maybe my sister or one of the other Wiccan/Pagans here can talk about some of their ideas in the beliefs thread. I love discussing deep topics!

When we were in New Orleans our tour guide for the haunted history tour told us he's working on a book regarding occult architecture...For instance St. Louis Cathedral has rosicrucian and masonic symbols right in the entryway when you walk in. which i appreciated much more after having read both The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons (altho i think i should re-read A&D cuz I read it in one day while I was in Virginia)(yes I am a speed reader...it's the only way i know how to read)

I was going to mention something about paganism here, but my head isn't making coherent trains of thought today as i sit here and type for some reason...so I'll just leave it and maybe comment on it in the purkle belief system thread later xd

Rambling is ok! That's how I get my thoughts out sometimes. smile And with people replying to each other, it always helps clarify my own thoughts.

I have an old friend who I met online, and he's one day younger than me. He and I spent years in deep religious discussions, pondering this, contemplating that, bringing up a lot of 'what ifs' and 'that would mean...' and it was really a great way to clarify where our ramblings were going.

ur absolutely on the money! Sometimes when talking to someone it clears you up. You begin thinking you think a certain way on a subject and at the end you may discover you don't feel that way at all, but another way entirely. xd
