Entry 1: Poem Inside These Tears Inside these tears are feelings we can't say unspoken unsaid they're falling making your sight blurry trying to stay back but helpless running down as fast as a waterfall they won't go away each tear that falls has little pieces of salt you can't see them but you can taste them you never know when they'll appear you never know when they'll leave it's hard to say what tears feel but they know what you feel tears are different shapes and come in many sizes no matter what you look like no matter who you are there will always be tears inside you to guide you when you know that you will need them

Entry 2, Poem
i stare. i stare into this dark pit of oblivion. i stare, and i wait. wait for somting, anything to happen. i stare and wait, wait and stare, and yet, i still see nothing. ive been waiting for centuries. staring into this five sided pool of swirling black smoke. waiting for anything a bubble, a ripple. then it hits me. i laugh and cry, but never make a sound. ive been a fool. ive been looking down and staring, and never looked around i look up. and i see what ive been waiting for. the perfection. the eyes. the smile. i look up, and i see you. you open your arms, and i rush to you. your arms close around me,and mine around you i cry tears of joy! then i stopped crying, feel nothing. i look up, see nothing. so i go back to stare into the pool of blackness you come from i go back to my torture i got to wait for another century, just so that i may hold you again. i love you, and i will never stop.

Short Story
Well, I'm writing a book, but truth be told I've hardly made any progress with it. I know exactly how I want it to end, and so I wrote it out, and it came out quite amazing if I do say so myself. Now, I will give you the backing of the story. This story takes place in Victorian London during the time of Jack the Ripper. The character in this narrative is a detective who was searching for him, and slowly followed the trail to him. Eventually, he found him in his lair, an abandoned factory filled with random items of horror and blood. The infamous murderer kills the constables that come with him and he escapes, though it's hard to say that he did so with his life.
He limped down the dark cobblestone street, clutching his side futilely as the crimson blood seeped through his fingers, leaving puddles in his wake that shone almost silver in the moonlight. His limp worsened quickly and his legs gave out from under him, he fell to the ground and watched his crimson life seep through his fingers. He coughed and choked and more blood spilled out of his mouth into his extended hand. He smiled wistfully at the blood, and broke out laughing, truth be told, there was nothing funny about the situation and he knew it as well, however he didn't want to go down despairing, he wanted to die laughing, like he promised. As his blood spilled down onto the cobblestones, staining the streets red, his spiteful laughter slowly grew fainter and fainter, as he slowly lost focus with the world around him. His laughter died down, and then became still, and as he took his last breaths, he left the cold world with such a smile on his face, never was such a smile seen in any time before and never will such a smile be seen again. The smile spoke of spite and anger, joy and lust pity and relief. This cruel world never deserved such a smile, but it was given to the world, and he died with that smile, though it's meaning died along with the man.
((sorry if it doesn't fit the qualifications of a short story, but I hope it does :/))

Penny was a cat. Kupo was a dog. She was flexable and smart. He was playful and kind. She utterly disliked getting wet. He would be the one splashing around her. She likes gourment kitty food. He likes doggy treats. Despite their differences, Penny and Kupo have one thing in common. They love cuddling by a certain warm someone. © Copyright 2009 xPenny { NPC Inc }. All rights reserved. 2nd Entry ~ Story
Shy Girl, Small World
Alone in her dark room as always, laid Pennilia upon her bed. A beautiful, soft caramel skinned, long brunette haired, maiden. She had so many great personalities that anyone could easily love. Her only problem was that she was shy and not many people knew of her because of that. She lived deep down into the depths of an unknown forest. No one ever goes as far into the forest where she lived. They feared what may lay ahead of them. Anyways, still laying upon her bed, Pennilia daydreamed about being free from herself and openning up to the world. Little did she know someone was about to make that dream come true. On a majestic steed rode a handsome young man through the forest. His brown silk like, short-cut hair, blew in the wind as he smiled with the whitest teeth in the kingdom. Who was this boy and where was he going in these forests where no one dared venture?
Pennilia sighed as she slowly got off her bed and walked toward the door. She grabbed her long velvet coat and her basket made out of vines. She set out into the forest to pick fruits and flowers, as she liked doing constantly. She sat in a meadow surrounded by trees and flowers in the middle of the great forest. As she held a purple rose to her nose, she suddenly heard a horse approaching. She thought she was hearing things, until she saw someone in the distance. Pennilia ran behind a tree where she glanced at the approaching person. The boy that was riding through the forest earlier appeared into Pennilia's view as he stormed out of the trees into the meadow on his horse. Nervously, she stepped back, tripping backwards onto a twig that snapped as she fell on it. The boy saw and he pulled on the horse's reins, signaling it to halt. He jumped off, as he ran over to her. "Are you ok?" he asked as he held his hand out toward her. In shock, Pennilia fainted leaving a confused look on the boys face.
He lifted her up to notice she was quite light, as he then carried her into the forest, making it to an open area as it got dark. He set her down by his horse that decided to rest. Leaving her there after setting her coat over her, he got wood and started a fire as he would set up a resting area. An hour later as he was sitting by the fire roasting potatoes, Pennilia slowly woke up. She looked around to realize where she was. About to scream, she covered her mouth as she saw the boy from earlier. He looked over at her to see that she finally awoke. "Hey there sleepy head." he teased. Unable to speak due to her shyness, she stood up, bowed then ran away. "Wait!" the boy yelled as she disappeared into the darkness. She had left her coat. "Such a weird girl.." he thought to himself as he took a bite of his potatoe. Minutes later he was asleep under the moon by his horse as Pennilia was still roaming the forest, now lost. Scared, she kept running until she fell by a lake side, as she grew unconscious.
Later in the morning as the boy was already awake and searching for water, he stumbled upon Pennilia again. She was covered in mud and dirt with her hair flowing around in the water where her head was rested in. He picked her up again as she awoke in his arms. Her eyes widdened and she fell. "Ugh, You should be more careful around here." he said to her. She started to dust herself off, still nervous from being around another person. "Are you lost?" he asked her as she then turned her head away slowly. "Well I can't just leave you out here, why don't you tag along with me?" he suggested. "I just have to do a few things and I'll take you back to where you live, Ok?" he said as he got his water and set it in the luggage saddled upon the horse. Pennilia didn't say anything, but she got up and stood there, not running away like she did before. "Well, My names Kupo, nice to meet you!" he said with a smile on his face. "Whats your name?" he asked as Pennilia looked down. "You do have a name, right?" he said as he tilted his head slightly with confusion on his face. She nodded. "You seem very shy." he teased in a nice way. "Well you don't have to be afraid, I'm a nice guy." he said smiling again. "There's suppose to be a river up ahead, you can clean up there." he said as he gathered all his stuff, ready to go. They walked through the forest until they neared the river that was in a little area surrounded by trees with a waterfall leading into it. "Ugh," the boy said rubbing the back of his head. "I'll be a few trees from here, it won't be hard to find me. Just come back when your done." he said then smiling again as he took his horses into the forest. Pennilia walked down to the river, almost relieved now that they boy wasn't near her. She undressed, as she then began washing her clothes and laying them in the sun to dry upon a rock. Slowly, she walked into the river, getting deeper and deeper until she reached the middle. She started washing herself in the warm, cool, refreshing water.
It turned sunset and Pennilia hasn't returned to Kupo yet. Wondering what she's doing so long, he got up from sharpening his knife and set out to the river. He saw the back of her head, as she was still in the river. She slowly stood up, the water now to her waist now. Her body glistened with the water in the sunset. Blushing slightly and shocked, stood Kupo there, stunned by her beautiful body. Snapping out of it, he stepped back, crushing a dried up leaf, catching Pennilia's attention. Nervous and embarrassed, she went under the river's waters. "S-Sorry" he yelled toward her, then noticing that she wasn't getting up for a long while. He rushed to the river, taking off his boots and shirt, as he jumped in and swam toward where she was. He dived under to search for her. Pennilia, already out of the river, had swam to shore to where her clothes were, as she began to put them on. Sitting on the rock, she watched him still looking for her in the river. Catching his breath, startled at what has happened, he stood in the middle of the river looking around. He saw Pennilia sitting there on the rock, watching him. With a -.- expression, he walked out of the river, as he also glistened. As he walked toward her, she giggled. "That's not funny, you had me worried!" he said in a mildly upset way. She giggled again, then hiding mouth with her hands. Kupo thought her giggle was cute and he put what just happened behind. "We wasted most of the day but we can still go ahead until we find another place to rest." Kupo said, putting his shirt back on. They walked for a few hours making it to the next area where they would rest. They hadn't said a word since what happened back at the river. Dark now, by the fire, sat Kupo as Pennilia was fast asleep on a green sleeping bag that Kupo had carried with him.
After 2 more days of traveling through the forest, Pennilia still not having said a word, and Kupo nearly running out of food; they stummbled upon a house up ahead. Pennilia gasps at the sight of her house. Thinking she was frightened, Kupo said, "Don't be afraid, this is where I'm suppose to find my sister. I've been searching for her after I heard she existed someone out here." Surprised and shocked, Pennilia fainted by him as he caught her. Being so close to his destination, Kupo carried Pennilia toward the house. The door was open and he let himself in. He laid Pennilia on a purple couch by the door. "Hello!" he yelled, so anxious to meet his sister. Guessing that she wasn't home, he toured around the house out of curiousity. He grew extremely shocked when he saw a photo of her. It looked just like the girl he was with the whole time. Kupo fell to his knees as he pulled out a locket from around his neck, with the name Pennilia in it. "Is that her name? How could this be? Is she my sister?" he went on questioning himself. He walked back to Pennilia as he then carried her to her room where he put her to rest in her bed. He sat in a chair by her, watching her as she laid there unconcious.
A few moments later, she budged, starting to awake. She slowly openned her eyes to see Kupo over her. Her eyes widened as he smiled at her. She closed her eyes again. "Oh no you don't!" he said as he started shaking her. With a >.< expression, she pushed him off her gently. "Your name is Pennilia?" he asked staring at her. Wondering how he knew her name with her never telling him, she got up from her bed. "Is it?" he asked again. Looking away slightly, she said "Yes..". He rushed and hugged her, sending shivers down her spine, as she's never been hugged before. "I've found you! My dear sister! I found you at last!" he said with happiness in his remarkable voice. "I must take you back to the kingdom at once, you may stay with me." he joyfully said as he headed toward the door in her room. Pennilia grabbed his arm, stopping him, as he turned around and looked at her. Building up the courage, she spoke. "Kupo.. I- I've never been out of this forest, I'm scared to leave. I don't want to leave, It's my home now." she said then looking down. Shocked that she spoke and how lovely her voice was, he was unsure of what to say for the moment. Finally, he said "But, I just found you..." with sadness in his voice. "You can stay if you want." she forced herself to say, "I have an extra room.." she said with a warm smile. Regaining his happiness, he gladly accepted. Luckily he had packed extra clothes incase something happened or he would be gone longer.
Over time, they spend time together getting to know each other more. Hanging around the forest, going for swims, eating lunch together and much more. Thank to Kupo, Pennilia was no longer shy around him. They grew very fond of each other. This was the happiest they've been in a very long time.
Years later, Kupo brought Pennilia to the kingdom. Not knowing they were related, jealous girls quickly disliked her being around Kupo. The Princess, Madame Cornilia, greatly loved the handsome Kupo, and greatly disliked him being around Pennilia. Since Pennilia was very pretty, the princess was even more jealous than any other girl in the kingdom. The princess had Pennilia brought back into the forest and killed while Kupo was invited to her palace for dinner. He really enjoyed it and when he went home to tell Pennilia of the fun he had, she wasn't there. Knowing his sister, she would never leave the house without him, so that made him very worried. He ran back to the Cornilia's palace to tell her that his sister was missing. "Sister?" said the princess is shock and fear. She had no idea that Pennilia was his sister and now she felt extremely guilty for what she had did. "Sorry, I cannot help you." she said as she walked down the halls of the palace, getting farther away from him. As he was about to leave from the palace, a young girl grabbed his arm. "I know where you sister is" she said. "Really? Where?" Kupo said with hope filling up his heart. "The princess ordered for her to be brought into the forest and killed.." said the girl trying to break it softly to him. "W-what.." replied Kupo as tears began filling up his eyes. "No! Why would she do that to my sister?" he said trying to deny it. "Out of jealousy" the girl replied. Filled with such sorrow and anger now, he yelled out into the palace, "YOU HEARTLESS WITCH! YOU KILLED MY SISTER!" as he then ran out, tears rushing down his face now. He went into the forest searching for his sister's body, hoping she wasn't dead.
Kupo then stumbled upon his sister's body, which he saw floating in the river. He jumped in with all his clothes on, not wasting a moment to save her. Carefully lifting her body out of the water, he sat on the same rock from years ago, with her across his lap. Gently, he stroked her cheek that was still warm, as he remembered the time when she sat on that rock giggling. He would never forget her laugh, her smile, or her voice. It all stayed floating along his memories. Still sitting on the rock, tears still rolling down his cheeks, his sister still in his lap, he did something. He kissed her soft pink lips.
The next day, he burried her in a bronze coffin with her favorite flowers surrounding it, right next to her house in the forest. He was the only one there at her funeral, having so many regrets, he said his apologiez, his memories, and everything else he wanted to let go before he bursted into tears. "I should of never brought you to the kingdom, I was so stupid. Look what I did to you.." he blamed himself as he kneeled by the coffin sobbing. Magically, out of nowhere, a gentle warm light appeared floating by him, as he then felt a hand touch his shoulder. He looked up at it to see the spirit of his sister standing beside him. "Please don't blame yourself, don't live with this guilt upon you. You made me so happy when I met you and everytime you were by my side, I remained happy. Now, it's my turn to stay by your side and make you happy. I would never truely leave you, as long as I remain in your heart." she finished as she began to fade away into the sun. Hearing that, Kupo felt a bit better as he went back to the kingdom. He started packing all of his stuff, as he has decided to move into Pennilia's forest house.
Two days later he is completely moved in and hoping for a better life. He's close to his sister now because he knows she will always be with him. From that day, he's always lived there alone, even though he never felt lonely.
Fin.

 1st Entry - Poem
A Glimpse
Falling, I feel broken Only to be put back together again A mechanical doll of resurrection More painful than the time before I can only watch as the world passes by People change They come and go But the sky stays the same Unchanging shades of grey Incinerate my eyes Peeling and withering until I am reborn Porcelein spiders spin crystal webs around me Protection in intent Ways to blockade the blistering sea I have no way to protest My mouth is in stitches For without the sky in my view I cannot dream

Entry 1: Poem
Music
Music blasting up high Drowning out the voices Of merrymaking outside The door's wide open But no one steps through An invisible barrier Between me ...and them Play it loud enough I forget that they're there Play it fast enough I create my own world Swayed by the soul in the words Or the sounds of the melody Somehow I don't feel as alone Lying on the bed Forgotten ...forgotten

Entry 2: Poem
Come Rescue Me
Come rescue me.
Come...
Rescue...
Me...
I'm slipping Further and further Down a hole I created Falling down my own ...Trap
Is it a matter of pride? Or is it too much Empathy?
Nothing I do Moves Anyone or anything
Nothing...
Moves...
The world goes on And my existence spirals Into a place I’m not sure I can ...Return
Rescue me.
I’m starting to lose control I don’t want to cry anymore I’m tired of acting strong I’m starting to ...Break
Come rescue me.
Pathetic Always relying on others Why?
Rescue me.
...
Alone.
Why do I try? Why even bother Nothing is moved ...Nothing
My voice is hushed Between the loud sounds of ...Silence I've long since stopped Reaching out a hand No one will come.
No one will come rescue ...Me
The darkness is deafening It’s all around I can’t ...Escape
I struggle Or do I give up?
Nothing moves Just time Time goes by Things change Or is it me that changes?
Come rescue me.
I still hope Naively But why?
It’s too late Can’t turn back Can’t just quit Would I even exist then?
What is it to ...Exist?
The voices scream
Failure Wimp Coward
Still I can’t cry Or do I?
Nothing makes sense So please
Come rescue me.

1st Entry~ Story
The Magic Snail
Once upon a time there were two girls. One was named Kelsie and the other girl's name was Valerie. They were out walking in a park when they found a snail trailing along on the ground, slowly and sadly, as if it were ill. They went over and picked it up, holding it and looking at it with concerned eyes and murmuring distressed words to it as if they knew the snail for a rather long time. They tried tried to keep him from drooping his head and looking sickly, but sadly enough they couldn't. So, they took him home. They made him a little cage and put him in it, calling it his new home. Soon enough they found a name for him. They wrote "STEVE" on his cage to clarify that that was what he was to be called. So they lived with him for weeks and weeks. Maybe months. Or, years. They loved him, fed him, gave him shelter, played with him, and even polished his shell once every week. His shell soon turned a shiny rainbow color. It could have been something he ate, it could have been something he possibly got into, anything! But many believed that it was because Kelsie's and Valerie's love and care for the snail was so much that they had caused the snail to be rather happy in his life with them, so he turned to the color of a rainbow. Every single color in a rainbow individually on his shell showing plenty a proportion of each and every one. He then started to speak to the girls, "You both may have three wishes individually, but you may not ask for more wishes or for anything bad to happen." The girls were shocked that he could talk, but soon got used to it, they loved him too much to judge him and think less of him if he could talk. Even when his voice was rather high pitched, and would probably get annoying quite easily. They thought carefully on their wishes before they made one. And with their wishes they were not greedy at all, like many of the people who found snails that could grant wishes. They were quite kind with their wishes. Kelsie wished that there would be no pollution, that what ever species was endangered wouldn't be endangered, and that all the children in the world would never be abused again. Valerie wished that there were no more homeless people in the world and that they would have enough money to make it on their own, that the employed and unemployed people who wanted a job they would actually like to do would have one, and that all the animals in the world would no longer be abused. Steve granted the wishes happily. The girls could tell there was a difference in the air and everything else, they watched the news and the reporters told the amazing stories of the changes. Kelsie and Valerie were very happy and much happier to be able to keep Steve as a pet. His shell never changed color. He was always happy. And so were the girls. The world was different from that day on.

this is a short story that came to me one night in a dream. I know it leaves alot of questions unawnsered, and I may add more to it later, but I'm not entirely sure of that yet. I know it has a crappy title, but untill this contest it didn't have a title. I only added the title because of this contest, for anything other than this contest it is still untitled
The unforseen incident It was 12 past midnight, the lights of the vegas strip were casting an eerie glow over the city. Tourists were partying, drinking, gambling and everything else that you could think of tourists doing.
It was 12 past midnight in the small town of kingsman. People were sleeping peacefully in their beds. The lights of the town were for the most part extinguished.
It was 12 past midnight in NYC. Locals were sleeping in their beds as tourist went to shows, clubs, or just about anything else you could think of tourists doing.
Just then something happened, every light went out abruptly. There was confusion all around. There was a flash of light so bright that even the blind could see it. A low rumbling, like the growling of a large beast began, seemingly from everywhere at once. Then as quickly as it began, it ended.
The strip was as quiet as the grave, the small town of kingman was caught in eternal sleep, and the locals and the locals and tourists of NYC lived no more.
