I never get a flu shot...swine or otherwise. If I get the flu, I take care of myself the way you should when you are sick. My dad gets the flu shot every year and within a month, he has the flu. Go figure.
My illness is mostly just sinus related then it moves into my chest then back to my sinuss. Horrible cycle. I dont have health insurance so I cant afford to go to the dr so I mainly do over-the-counter meds. Its not contagious though.....seems to get better when it rains so I think its just allergies getting bad this year.

I developed adult allergies in my mid-20s and I must say that this fall is the worst they have ever been. There is definitely something in the air. Feel better soon, ghostie.
Sidenote: I MUST HAVE THAT GOTHIC FLUTTERBY. IT'S PURKLE!!!!!!!

No, not yet, but I plan on purchasing some cash next week when I get paid next. That one is too cute to pass up!
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I had fun on my trip to Delaware but now I have a bad, bad cold. Oh well. LOL

I can't reply very well with baby in one arm, but I'm waiting for J to get home as he's more than 1.5hrs late because the lab director brought in his computers to be encrypted right at closing time. I have to go grocery shopping this evening as soon as he gets here cuz we've run out of some necessary stuff I forgot to buy Sunday.
Jason got the worst of this sickness and missed 6 days of work and got a recurring fever after it went away for a few days. He seems to finally be getting better now.

I am in the sweat-mode part of it now. I am trying to get it all out of me I guess. Last night I was having trouble breathing when I first laid down but then out of sheer exhaustion I fell asleep for about 3 hours and woke up around 2 a.m. I was up for maybe another half an hour and then fell right back to sleep until 7:15. I am hoping it will be gone by the weekend but it's not looking good. *sigh*

I have that incredibly annoying tickle cough now. It seems like it will never go away! Maybe I should take a few more doses of Mucinex. Annoying! LOL smile

Oh I hate that tickle cough! I had it for weeks after I had the flu when I was pregnant with Amber. I would wake up coughing and not be able to stop.
We're all better, although I noticed today Amber's got a slightly runny nose, so I wonder if she's catching what her cousin Victoria had when we visited on Sunday.
Leslie's girl who's Jade's age and lives 3 doors down was out today with a fever and cough, and that sounds alarmingly Swine Flu-ish to me, so I was agitated when the bus came and this girl came outside to greet it, even though she was sick, and standing so near us and probably contagious.
I think from some symptom charts Jason showed me over the weekend that we just all had colds because flu's rarely or almost never come with sore throats and stuffy/runny noses, which we had. Jason's fever was probably just from his sinus infection, and Lacey's and Amber's because children tend to get fevers with colds. So if that's the case, we're not immune and still have to watch out! gonk

How exactly are they differentiating the swine flu from regular flu? I have to admit I haven't really been paying much attention to it. I know for sure that what I am trying to get over isn't flu. It's just a bad bad BAD cold. I almost feel bad when people say they are starting to get sick because I am hoping they aren't getting what I am trying to get rid of. My cough is slightly better today because I took (finally) out my window fan in my bedroom. I think that was what was really keeping me sick with that post-nasal drip because I don't feel it as badly today and my cough is more manageable. Last night in therapy I could barely say 2 or 3 sentences without having to cough and the fact that she makes me laugh almost the entire time didn't help matters either! LOL I'm surprised my lungs are still in my chest after all of that nonsense. smile
Keeping my fingers crossed that you, Optimus, and the princesses don't get flu! I don't think I will, I have only ever had it once, and that was when I first moved to Michigan. It had to even go through 3 people to get to me.

I suppose they could draw blood or something and run tests to find out which virus it is exactly. But I heard that they're so overwhelmed with people coming in that they won't even test for it unless someone's having trouble breathing. They say just treat it like any other flu unless you have one of the warning symptoms that requires immediate medical attention. We keep hearing about death after death of young children or young adults in our area dying of H1N1 (swine flu.)
My facebook account is "down for maintenance" so what else can I do now besides various apps for Jason? LOL

Yikes @ having trouble breathing. With this cold I had that a few nights right when I laid down to go to sleep. Not a fun experience!
I responded to your email about For the Birds on FB, fawNie! xo
Have a great weekend, everyone!
