Ellandra tilted her head a little to the side. "It would. . . probably be a good idea. I need to place my things inside, after all. . ." She didn't ask, but she wondered what had happened to her ribbon and necklace. Were they still there, where she'd left them, or had they been moved? Did Faolan have them? She just didn't know, but she wasn't going to ask.

"Fair enough," Zia answered, glancing up at the archway of the carnival's entrance. "Probably want to rest a bit before walking across the camps to Keagan's anyway after that long walk, right?"

Ellandra shook her head, a determined expression crossing her face. "Thank you, Ziazan, but no. I need - I need to start fixing this as soon as I can. . ." She definitely wasn't going to admit that she was rather tired from the walk and really did need the rest - it wasn't important right now. However, Rhian had other ideas.
"No, no, Mama, you should rest, just for a little while. It will be better if you do!" for all appearances, it seemed as though Ellandra was carrying a talking basket. But then, this was Farstep, and Rhian wasn't speaking loudly in the least.

"Sitting a spell might help you get your thoughts together and prepare yourself for what he's going through," Zia said, eyes forward and a slight frown on its features. "I'm not going to sugar-coat it, Elle. He took it badly. You need to steel yourself a bit before seeing him, I think. He's not the same man you left behind."

The brunette closed her eyes and bit her lip for a long moment, before nodding slowly. "Alright. . . and I - I realize that now. A-and. . . . it's my fault," she said softly, her tone full of self-reproach and a dash of self-loathing. However bad Faolan was, the blame for it all rested squarely upon her shoulders. Maybe not the entire situation, but the act of leaving was what did this, and that had been all her.

"Can't take the blame for that, Elle. It's just the way you two are tied together. If Rhian wasn't helping you, you'd probably be in the same situation," Zia explained. "You didn't know what it really meant to be a soulmate with someone or how empty it'd feel without your other half."

Ellandra blinked. "Rhian was helping me? I . . . didn't really notice that much;" she looked down at the basket, slightly guiltily. "I'm sorry, flutterby." From the basket issued a rather loud yawn, and Rhian spoke in a sleepy sounding voice,
"It's okay, Mama, you weren't able to notice, I wasn't letting you 'cause you'd have made me stop. Then what would have happened?" Still, Ellandra continued to look a bit guilty as they walked and waddled their way across the carnival grounds. After a long moment of silence, Ellandra at last spoke again, this time to Ziazan.
"I. . . . still don't really know about soulmates, Ziazan. There's. . . . a great deal that I don't know."

"You'll learn as you go. That's what life is all about," Zia said, heading in the direction of the camps. "We'll go home first, then go see how Faolan's doing."

The brunette smiled a very tiny smile, and squeezed Ziazan's hand again "I know . . . this may not mean much coming from me, especially not now, but. . . I'm very proud of you, Ziazan. . . for taking care of things. . . and for telling me what's happened."

Ellandra paused at that moment and stopped completely in her tracks, tugging Ziazan to her with the hand that held the alter's, moving to pull the childlike (at least physically) Essentic to her as best she could in a hug. "Ziazan. . . . I am so, so, so very sorry for what I've put you through. I really am." Unnoticed to Ellandra, Rhian was humming quietly from the basket again. "I - I promise, Ziazan. . . . if, f-for some reason, I ever th-think of running again. . . I'll stop. . . . and t-try to work. . .. . work things out first. . . . though. . . I hope, I d-dearly hope. . . that I won't need to remember this promise."

"That's all you can do, Elle. Just try to work things out," Zia said softly, scooting away to step up and open the door to the vardo. "Welcome home."
Everything within was as Ellandra had left it. Clearly the small wagon had been vacated only of it's male occupant.

Ellandra stepped inside and gazed around the vardo wordlessly for a long moment, before closing her eyes with a sigh. Meanwhile, Rhian freed herself from the basket and fluttered up to function as a humming capelet for her owner. A small, barely noticeable shudder shook the brunette's frame, and she didn't move any further inside the vardo, unwilling to take another step or even open her eyes for the moment. not yet, not now. . . . not when things were so obviously wrong.
