April 9, 2004 Sunil grew up! I woke up this morning and turned over to find a much larger Sunil glaring at me. Apparently her bed isn't big enough anymore! I'll have to make her and Susu another place to sleep.
Sunil is so pretty! I actually caught her looking in her mirror in her "lab". I'm glad she is taking an interest in her appearance, but I hope she doesn't get too concerned with how she looks.
I'm actually pretty happy she grew up, since she has been asking me about a treehouse for her and Susu. She was thinking about using cardboard and glue, but now that she is bigger I was thinking that we could make a birdhouse together. With a few modifications I think we could make a great tree house for her and Susu out of a birdhouse kit. I'm just a little worried about squirrels. I mean Sunil seems big enough and strong enough to take on anything that threatens them, but Susu is still very small and I worry about him running around with her.~kamtrouble

April 12, 2004 Sunil and I had a great Easter. We spent most of the day wandering around looking for eggs the other one had hidden. Sunil found a lot more of the ones I had hidden than I did of hers though. I used those big plastic eggs you get in the grocery store that pop open and she used little mini cadbury eggs. She had trouble rolling mine out and about, but I had trouble just spotting hers. She also had Susu help her find all sorts of little hidey holes that I would barely stick my hand in. What a little punk! ^_^ All in all it was a blast though and we got hyper on sugar afterwards and watched a bunch of the Gals! dvds. I'm honestly surprised Sunil likes the show, but she does.
I promised her I would help her get started on the birdhouse/treehouse soon, but it rained a ton last night and I think it made both of us rethink. Maybe it isn't quite time yet to build a treehouse. I'll probably take her shopping today to get a birdhouse kit today and maybe some dollhouse furniture. There is a craft store by my house that should have both.~kamtrouble

Not a diary entry Wow! A fight. eek Sunil Sunil stirs, having fallen asleep after meeting Selene. She sits up, groggy, confused, and totally disoriented. Where was Susu? He always curled up near her when she slept. Looking around she realized she was in the shop and wasn't alone. She stood up and waved in the direction of the other two feien in the place. "Hello? What's going on?" Seamus Seamus literally fell over, which wasn't saying much since he was only propped up on his elbows anyway. In the next instant he leapt to his feet. "Sunil?!?! Is that you?!" he gawked, "You grew up!" Ares Ares was about to say something when she noticed something moving on the floor. Turning her eyes to look, she noticed a blue feien on the ground, getting up it seemed. What she was about to say was something that should probably talked about more in private. Paying a little bit more attention to the other feien, she recognized her. Sunil....but, she was bigger. ....Wait, Sunil grew up too?? "...I...guess I'm the only one left..." Ares said a bit sadly. Sunil Sunil stopped. That voice sounded familiar, but the feien didn't look right. She squinted in that direction and covered the distance in a few purposeful strides. "Seamus?! You grew up too. But you're short!" Sunil laughed cruelly. "How're you going to protect your girlfriend if you're so small even all grown up?" She put a hand on her hip and eyed her friends. Seamus "Like this?" challenged Seamus, shoving her with a Magic Hand. He grinned mischievously. Sunil Sunil felt the magic rushing at her a split second before it hit and tensed. It wasn't enough warning to avoid and she was pushed back several steps, but didn't fall over like he had doubtless intended. She looked up and grinned. "Nice trick." Her adrenaline up Sunil dashed forward quicker than the eye could see and punched at Seamus shoulder playfully. Ares Ares watched the two, keeping to herself. They knew magic...they were grown up. She...was still just little Ares. Hugging her knees to her chest, she just watched, wishing she could do things like they could. Wishing...she could grow up too. Looks like she'd have to practice again more. She just wished she knew what it was she was supposed to be practicing. Seamus Seamus had no defense against the attack but also lacked Sunil's ability to take hits. This, coupled with the fact that Sunil was probably stronger than even she realized, was enough to send Seamus stumbling backwards. As luck would have it, the box was there so he didn't fall on his rear. "Oh, so that's how you want to play?" Seamus grinned and conjured up another Magic Hand, this time instead of pushing Sunil, he used it to grasp her throat firmly. "Let's see you get out of this one." Sunil Sunil choked and rage consumed her thoughts. She knew she was stronger than this, stronger than his magic hand. But how to fight it? She never got to practice her magic at home. She clawed at air and eyed Seamus. And suddenly she knew what to do. Using her greater strength she lunged at Ares, knowing her to be Seamus's weakness. Seamus "No!" shouted Seamus, "Don't touch her!" The magic hand slackened but its presence remained. Ares Ares' eyed widened a bit, crawling backwards a bit, scramping to her feet and jumping out of the way. She almost lost her balance along the edge of the table, but just managed, turning around to face the other blue feien. She...was attacking her....? kamtrouble Sunil choked at Ares, rage in her eyes. "Tell... your... boyfriend... to ... let... go!" She advanced on Ares slowly, fighting the hand every step of the way. She was starting to get spots in the corner of her vision and felt dizzy. Ares Ares' three eyes were still wide. "Seamus, STOP!" she cried, taking another step back. But she forgot she was at the edge of the table. She fell backwards, her wings immediately spreading, and she flipped over to catch air underneath her wings to slow her fall. She glided down to the floor, landing on her feet, and stared up at the table. Sunil......she was going to attack her. She....she was... "You...said you'd never attack anyone in the gang..." she managed to say. Seamus Seeing Sunil drive Ares over the edge, literally, was Seamus' breaking point. With a low, gutteral growl of rage, he switched from loosening the magic hand to tightening it, and stepped threateningly close to Sunil. "Don't ever hurt her." he hissed angrily. kamtrouble Sunil lurched over the edge after Ares, dizzy and disoriented. She tried to spreaad her wings, but was not in time and hit the floor with a thud, the last of her air crushed out of her and her eyes closed. Ares "Seamus, stop it!!" she screamed, her hands tightening into fists. "Stop it right now!!!" Ares was utterly confused, angry...sad. Was Sunil really going to hurt her...? Either way, Seamus seemed to be about ready to kill the other feien, and that not something that should EVER be done. She gasped, her eyes growing even wider. Rushing over to Sunil, she knelt down next to the blue feien. "S-Sunil??" she nearly screamed, softly placing a hand on the feien's shoulder. "Sunil?" Seamus Seamus relented to Ares' request and dispelled the magic hand, flying down from the tabletop to land next to Sunil. Kneeling beside her and studying her to see if she was all right, he looked at her strangely, emptily. "I... She shouldn't have threatened you." he said, a strange hollow tone to his voice. Ares Ares shook her head, feeling about ready to cry. Calm...calm...how could she be calm at a time like this? But it was needed... if at any time, this was really the time for her to be calm. "You...you started this, Seamus..." she admitted, unable to look at him. "I appreciate you protecting me...demo...this........this wasn't necessary, was it...? Hurting your own friend...?" Ares kept her eyes on Sunil. "I...I don't know who I'm more disappointed in...Sunil, for attacking me when she said she'd never do that...or you, for doing this to her...even if it was for my sake..." Seamus Seamus looked rather stunned for a few moments, then sighed heavily. "You're right." he admitted, looking down at Sunil. Of course... he thought, you could always try that... He was rather drained magically from just keeping up the magic hand for so long, but he felt he had to give this a try... placing a hand on Sunil's forehead, he tried to use his Heal spell on her. Maybe it would wake her up... kamtrouble Sunil choked, air returning to her lungs. She clutched at her throat which was already starting to bruise and opend her eyes. Spotting Seamus she hissed and quickly slid herself away from him and Ares. She slowly stood and still holding her throat she croaked out, "I'll remember this. Don't think I'll let you beat me and walk away from it safe. Nothing and no one you care about is safe." She glanced meaningfully at Ares and then flew out of the shop, obviously drained. Seamus Seamus watched her go, frowning. "What have I done?" he said to himself in the traditional cliché phrase. He couldn't care less if Sunil had a vendetta against him, but to put Ares in danger... Ares Ares' eyes widened once more, falling back a bit into a sit. That...glare. That look could kill. Now, she could feel tears burning in her eyes, quite hurt by all of this. She prided herself in her kind nature...the fact that she had many friends, many people she could trust. And now...this happens. Her little body beings to tremble slightly, her wings drooping down, a few tears escaping. Sunil...was she now an enemy...?

April 13, 2004 I woke up before Sunil this morning. This never happens. She always wakes me up with some sarcastic comment about my snoring, talking in my sleep, or just general laziness since she always has to wake me up. That was my first clue that all was not right with the world. My second clue was the darkening bruises around Sunil's throat and her rather raspy voice.
"Sunil?"
I nudged her a little, gently since she had obviously been through something. Susu looked up and hissed at me. Another bad sign, Susu was generally pretty laid back, but he and Sunil seem to share some sort of bond. They spend so much time together I suppose it makes sense. Sunil still didn't stir.
"Sunil?"
I raised my voice a little and nudged again ignoring Susu.
"What? What do you want?"
So she was awake. She didn't sound anything like herself. Her voice was raspy and instead of her usual cocky, self-confident tone she sounded hopeless and defeated.
"What the hell happened to you? You look and sound awful. You've got Susu all riled up."
As if in response to me (I never know is Susu just has a great grasp of emotional tones or if he actually understand English.) Susu stalked up by Sunil's face and started grooming her like a kitten.
"I got in a fight. I lost and I don't want to talk about it."
"A fight?!"
Seriously, I've never been in a fight in my life. What the hell was she doing fighting people. Sunil has a bit of a nasty streak, but I've never seen her hurt someone. Anyone that can take care of a cat and have it love them as much as Susu loves Sunil can't be all that bad. Cats are wonderful judges of character. Seriously.
Sunil didn't seem to want to talk and continued facing away from me, but she did snake an arm out of the covers to pat Susu which made me feel a little better. She couldn't be hurt too bad.
"Why did you get in a fight? What happened?"
She sighed in a tired, lost way and then stayed silent so long I thought she might not answer, but she finally did and what she said totally confused me more.
"Seamus grew up."
Now, I actually met Seamus once and he didn't really seem all that bad to me. In fact he seemed pretty nice. What on earth did him growing up have to do with Sunil's neck?
"That doesn't tell me anything. Do you want breakfast? I have to go feed Ixtli and Susu, but I'll be back. We're not done here."
I tried to be firm, but I was worried. Which of those stupid feien had so little sense they would beat up another one of their own kind? I sincerely doubted Sunil had done anything to "deserve" this and I was going to get to the bottom of it.
I went and fed the cats and made a bagel for myself. Even though she hadn't said anything I also grabbed a baggy of cheerios for Sunil. She loves honey nut cheerios.
When I got back, she was sitting up petting Susu who had settled down and was purring. I figured that was a good sign and I handed her the baggy of cheerios to munch on.
"Thanks."
Sunil never thanks me for anything. I know she likes me and appreciates what I do for her, but she never vocalizes it.
"No problem, I would have just eaten them if you didn't want them."
I'm horrible in situations like this. I never know what to say, but I had to try or my curiosity was going to kill me.
"So seriously... what happened to you and what does Seamus have to do with it? I can't help you get revenge if I don't know what happened."
She looked up at me at that point and I was sorta glad I hadn't looked her in the eye before this. They were both empty and full. There was no person there, no Sunil, just rage. I started to worry I shouldn't have mentioned revenge.
"I went to the store and I met Selene. She is an adult, one of the older fairies who I had never met before. We didn't talk long and I fell asleep in the store. When I woke up I saw a couple of other feien so I walked over. One of them was Seamus. He'd also grown up just like me, but he is still short. I teased him about it and he attacked me with some magic of his. I withstod it and punched him in the shoulder. I thought we were just fooling around, but then he started to choke me."
"Choke you?! So thats how you got the bruises on your neck. Are you sure all you did was punch him in the shoulder?"
"Yes! All I did was punch him in the shoulder and he decided to choke me. At that point I knew I had been betrayed. I should have known that Seamus and Ares would gang up on me. They're always hanging out together, whispering together."
Sunil's comments seemed paranoid, but then again I would never have guessed one of the other feien would attack her.
"What happened next? How did you get away?"
"I couldn't attack Seamus. He had a tight hold and I don't know any offensive magic yet. I underestimated my opponents. So I attacked Ares. She is his weak point just like he is hers. That is the problem with allies, they make you easier to attack."
"You attacked Ares? I thought she was your friend."
"I thought Seamus was my friend too! If she was really my friend she would have stopped him. They must have planned this together. God I'm such a fool. Friends are for losers and I knew that!"
At this point Sunil was screaming and Susu was yowling. Its a good thing both of them are small or I think they would have woken up the entire neighborhood. Sunil flailed around a little and I started to worry she was having some sort of attack when I realized she was trying to get her bracelet off.
"They're not my friends. And I won't wear their stupid bracelet."
Sunil hissed the last part out laced with pure hatred and then tore off the bracelet with almost inhuman strength and threw it across the room.
"What happened after you attacked Ares? Did you hurt her?"
I didn't really want to know, but I had to ask.
"No, she got out of the way. I wasn't even really going to hurt her. Just use her to convince him to let me go. But he started to choke me even harder. I could barely see, but I saw her pitch off the edge of the counter. I went after her, but I lost it halfway down. I don't remember what happened until I came to with both of them standing over me like vultures. Probably checking to see if I was dead."
Sunil was totally hysterical at this point, but I let her continue.
"I slid away from them and booked it out of there, but not before I warned them. I do not forget or forgive and they will BOTH pay."
I'm not so sure Sunil paying anyone back is such a good idea but if what she said was true Seamus and Ares had a lot of explaining to do. It looked like instead of building a treehouse, Sunil and I were going to be planning revenge.

April 14, 004 I am so dead. I stayed up until 8am finishing an assignment this morning and then took a nap until I had to go take a quiz at 1:30pm. I'm gonna go back to bed.
Sunil seems a little better and in fact is down in her "lab" with Susu. I didn't ask what they were doing, but I did ask her to stay in the house and she agreed pretty easily. I can only hope that she means it and isn't up to anything.

Playdate? Tosten This was their house, wasn't it? Tosten was sure, he had come across it a few times when he wanted to deliver to Sunil a few gifts. So there the mildly worn down little feien had appeared, touching down first upon a window sill. Hands pressed against the glass, peering in as close as he could to try to get a glimpse inside. "Sunil? Sunil~~!" Bang, knockknock! He proceeded to make a general annoying racket to try to figure out if this was even the right house - and how to get inside of it, for that matter. Sunil Sunil was sitting in her closet talking to Susu (her cat) when kam started yelling. "Sunil? Why are you making so much noise? I just want to sleeeeeeeeep." Sunil stood up and walked out of her closet with Susu trailing. She knew she hadn't been making the noise, so she started to kam's room to see what was. Out in the hall she could hear it. It sounded like someone pounding on a window. She took flight despite Susu's protests and flew to the window about halfway down the stairs to the first floor, where banging on the glass was Tosten! Sunil leaned on the glass and looked out suspiciously. What was going on? "Kam! It's Tosten! I need the window open!" Kam actually had come down from her room to see what the noise was and Sunil pretty much yelled in her face. Luckily small things have small voices. Kam opened the window, peered sleepily at Tosten and then turned to go back upstairs. "Have fun, try not to wreck the house." Sunil faced Tosten. She tried to look tough, but the truth was she was nervous. Why was he here? "Hello Tosten. What are you doing here?" Tosten Oh, good. Tosten was glad Kam came, he just come from Ares' house where he had to help Ares open the window by themselves. Not an easy task for two feien who both lacked in the area of strength. "Uh, hi Sunil." He replied tentatively, not sure how to start. His wings rustled together nervously like dry leaves in autumn, his wide eyes brimmed with such troubles and concerns that they didn't seem much like his at all, without the usual sunshine and carefree childhood. "I came to... uh, talk..." His reluctant stammering probably helped imply that he knew what had happened. Unless one had the odd thought that this bizarre, nervous personality was normal for him. Sunil Sunil noticed Tosten's behavior and figured it was a mixed blessing. It probably meant he wasn't a threat, but it also meant he had heard from someone what had happened. She wondered what poison Ares and Seamus were spreading about her in her absence. She touched her still sore throat almost involuntarily and then stepped back a little and pointed up the stairs. "We can go to my lab if you'd like to talk there. The windowsill is probably not the best place to have a converstaion about ambush, betrayal and revenge." She watched him to see his every response. She needed to know where he stood. Tosten Truthfully, he wished he had seen Seamus before he had come here. Sunil was going to be the hardest to talk to, at least in his opinion. And she was proving it already... each of the three finally words gained three exact flinches. "All right..." Was Tosten's quiet agreement to the offer to go to the lab, peering in the direction she had made the gesture. He waited for her to go first however, as he didn't know the inside of her home at all. Already he could tell it was nothing like his own. Sunil Sunil knew he had talked to someone to find out about the whole event, but she wasn't sure who. Had he heard it second hand? He seemed awfully upset about the whole thing for someone who hadn't been involved. "I'll lead the way then. Just follow me." Sunil took flight and flew up the stairs, around the corner, down the hall and then landed in the spare bedroom doorway to walk into her "lab", which was really just the closet. Susu was waiting in there along with all of Sunil's odds and ends. The over head light was on, streaming down from far above the two feien. Along the back wall were the jars holding the eyes and rosebud which were about Sunil's height. In the middle of the closet was a bunch of small cardboard boxes piled together. Some were low enough to use as a desk and had gems and Sunil's plastic chest. Others were quite clearly a little fort. Sunil swept her hand around, quite proud of her lair. "This is my lab. Kam almost never comes in here and Susu, " she guestured to a tiny blue and black cat sitting on the floor, "and I hang out here. I have alchemical stuff and the stuff I got from the shop." She turned to him and crossed her arms. "What do you know about what happened? Who have you talked to?" Tosten Tosten of course followed right after, and probably didn't help her labs appearance with the usual molting storm of blue feathers, which honestly came out twice of much when he was worried like this. "It's neat..." He mentioned when she showed such pride to her hiding place, which in his mind translated more into a club house then the term 'lab' ... then again those jars with eyeballs were kind of creepy. When she got right to business he became nervous again, and wrung his hands together. "Ares..." Was his whispered reply, wondering how to start. He knew this all was none of his business, on the level that he hadn't been involved. But they were all his friends, and to him that made it his concern. Sunil Sunil's eyes narrowed. So Ares was who he had talked to. She didn't know if that was good or bad. "So is she pleased with herself? Or is she disappointed I'm not actually dead?" Sunil turned her back on him and walked over to her pile of boxes and jumped up and sat on one. Tosten "No..." Tosten watched her, or rather her feet, as she moved away. Those hands rubbed together worriedly, as did the wings still in a nervous habit like a child who didn't want to talk in front of the whole class. "She was sad... and scared, I think." His eyes lifted then, and he added on almost pleadingly. "She doesn't hate you Sunil. She's scared..." And honestly he had a feeling Ares was just as confused as him, and she had been the one that had been there. Sunil Sunil scowled. What sort of trick was this? Ares had stood there and not even attempted to help Sunil. She obviously had been in on Seamus's little attack. "She should be scared. She and Seamus should have thought twice before they crossed me. And I don't care what sort of drivel she fed you about not hating me. She watched Seamus choke me and did nothing. If you aren't with me you're against me. Anyway, what did you want to talk about? You've obviously already heard what happened." Susu hopped up on the boxes and snuggled next to Sunil, who started to pat him absent-mindedly. She was oddly calm about the whole thing given her rather strong words. She patted the the box she was on. "You can come sit if you want. I don't bite, nor does Susu." Tosten Tosten glanced at the box and reluctantly made his way over. He wasn't so sure if he could stay sitting, when he was worried he felt restless. He'd much rather pace about and shed feathers all over. But she invited him, so he hopped onto the box too and swung his feet a little to expel his energy. "I came to... hear your side of the story." He replied quietly in return, looking up at the much taller feien. Sunil Sunil sighed, Tosten was so hard to understand. What good would it do to hear her side of the story? Obviously she was going to tell him something to make herself look good, much like Ares had probably already done for her and Seamus. It still hurt a little that it had been Ares, she'd always seemed so nice. "Well, I was hanging out in the shop and I fell asleep. When I woke up I saw that some other feien were in the shop so I walked over to see who it was. Turned out it was Seamus all grown up and Ares. I can't believe he had to grow up at around the same time as me. At least he is much shorter than me. So are you come to think of it. I wonder if anyone is actually taller than me now." Sunil realized that had nothing to do with the point and tried to get back on track. "So I said hi to Seamus and he attacked me with some magic, but I felt it coming because when I grew up I also gained the ability to feel magic. So I braced for it and he didn't manage to knock me over. I thought we were just showing off our new magic, so I used my speed to get up close to him and punch him on the shoulder. Apparently however he wasn't playing." Sunil scowled and looked at Susu, trying to decide how much of the rest to tell Tosten. There was no telling what he'd heard from Ares. "Seamus grabbed me around the neck with his magic and started to choke me. He wouldn't let go and I don't have any magic to use against that." She paused, petting Susu, and made up her mind. "I turned to Ares and asked her to stop him, but she wouldn't. He in fact only got worse. Eventually I passed out and woke up on the floor with them standing over me. I fled, knowing I had lost, and warned them they would see me again." She looked back over at Tosten. "Some friends, huh? Did Ares tell you she was a part of it? Or did she try and charm her way out of all responsibility?" Tosten Tosten stared at the floor between his feet now, swinging them obsessively as an emotional escape as he listened to her story. Easily he could note the differences between what Ares said and what Sunil was saying... both their stories with Seamus were the same, but of course relating to themselves it was different. "What... are you going to do Sunil?" He inquired quietly, avoiding answering her question as he didn't really think it deserved an answer. Nor did he want to argue over his opinion of Ares' truthfulness or not. He was trying so hard not to be accused of being on anyone's side. Sunil Sunil watched Tosten swing his feet and considered what she could give him for an answer. On the off chance he was sent here by Seamus and Ares she needed to be careful not to give them any warning. "I'm going to do exactly what I said. I'm going to make them regret they crossed me. The real question is, what are you going to do Tosten? You were part of the gang, so I'll make a deal with you. You don't have to be on my side, but you can't be on their side. If you side with them, you'll get exactly what they get." Sunil emphasized her point by staring straight at the usually happy-go-lucky feien. Unfortunately, he was looking at his feet. She sighed. No one took her seriously. But they would. Tosten "I wish I was there..." Tosten whispered softly then, tilting his head as he took in her words grimly. He reflected over the 'options' given to him and replies quietly. "I'm.. on your side. And I'm on their side. I won't let them hurt you again Sunil, but... I won't let you hurt them either. I can't let it happen. I'm sorry." His feet froze then, bringing his knees to his chest and letting his legs become a place to loop his arms around, as well as his knees themselves a location to rest his chin. "You're all my friends, there.. has to be a way to fix this, I don't want to lose anyone.." Sunil Sunil let a hiss of air escape her lips. Tosten just didn't get it, did he? She tried to be patient. "You can't be on both sides Tosten. They already tried to hurt me and I will have my chance to return the favor." She glanced over at the poor feien who seemed to curling into himself. She pushed Susu over in his direction. Petting Susu always made her feel better. "You're getting feathers all over my room you know," Sunil said softly. Tosten Tosten blinked at the action and glanced down at the feline. Reluctantly he uncurled himself, letting his feet lower again so to give an inviting lap to the cat while glancing back at Sunil's words. "Sorry, they do that." He replied apologetically. Silly feathers, they just kept falling out. He was surprised he wasn't bald, for some reason he had an infinite supply of feathers to just shed like a cats fur. "I can be on both sides. Because I love Ares, and I love Seamus, and I love you. And just because bad things happened between you all doesn't mean I'll stop feeling how I do." He ran fingers a bit curiously over Susu's fur as he spoke. Sunil Sunil was totally dumbfounded by Tosten's response. "How can you love me and love the people who hurt me? Would you still love me if I hurt Seamus? I don't think you would. Why does Seamus get more chances than me?" Sunil was hurt. She was in the right, they were in the wrong and yet Tosten was on their side. Tosten Tosten stared down hard at Susu as he tried to piece together his thoughts on this, replying slowly as he tested out each emotion into clumsy words. "I'd love you if you hurt Seamus... I would be disappointed though, and sad. I already feel that toward Seamus. He shouldn't have played with magic like that and put you in such danger... and then make it worse and... and..." He hesitated and shook his head, looking over toward Sunil. "You're so smart Sunil, scentists are always smart, isn't there a way to.. to begin to try to solve this without hurting anyone else?" Anyone else. Goodness that washed a whole other emotion into him. He never wanted this to happen, but even less between his friends. He shifted slightly and ended up shooing the feline from his lap so he could face Sunil more and tentatively reached up a hand... he wanted to touch her cheek, as he was an affectionate little leech, but he wasn't sure if she'd let him. "I'm so sorry this happened Sunil..." Sunil Sunil let him touch her cheek and looked at him. Was it possible he was honestly this naive and kind? She wasn't and she felt bad for him that he was gonna have to realize that most feien weren't like him. "Tosten... I'm sorry it happened too, but it happened and no one can change the past." She looked at him, her eyes full of regret. "I'm not like you Tosten. I can't forgive Seamus and Ares for what they've done to me. That would make me weak and I can't stand the idea of being seen as weak." Tosten It would be a hard thing to understand, and he was sure that he could make everyone see through his own childish eyes. Since she allowed him to touch her cheek he stroked it softly, liking to speak through affection and action more then anything. "I don't understand... why would forgiving them be weak? It's so much easier to be angry and hurt them. Forgiving is what's hard, revenge is very simple. Even I could do it." He scooted a little closer now that she hadn't yet rejected his friend-oriented attentions. "I'd never see you as weak for doing something so strong. I don't think anyone ever would.." Sunil Sunil shook her head, temporarily dislodging his hand. "Real revenge against people you thought were your friends is not easy. It would be easy for me to give up and act like it was all ok. Seamus would think he had won. He would think he could do it again without consequence. He might even do it to you." It was a low blow, but then again she was determined. Seamus was not top dog and she wasn't going to let him think he was. And then, thinking about what Tosten was trying to do, she had an idea. She had to be careful, it might not work. Tosten Tosten hesitated at that, hand withdrawing momentarily. His eyes downcast, turned to the side in thought. Then he just stubbornly touched her cheek again and peered back at her with his own firm decision. "He wouldn't. Not on purpose. I don't... think at least, and that's enough for me. But Sunil... I..." He was at a loss for words at the moment and he pleading quietly. "Isn't there a way to do this without more pain?" Sunil Sunil looked straight back at him, thinking. She had though perhaps to mislead him. To pretend that she was willing to give in. It would certainly give her an edge over Seamus and Ares. But at what cost? He was so sincere, so kind she hated to break his trust. But Ares and Seamus had already broken hers. He had to learn and she had told Em so long ago that she would teach him that the word friend was a lie. A fairy tale told between those without true power. "Maybe. I'll have to think about it Tosten, but you coming here has really made me think. Perhaps what you're saying is right. Maybe I should talk to Seamus. Do you think he would apologize?" She looked down, unable to meet his eyes and tried not to fidget. She'd never tried to delibrately mislead another person before. Tosten At this Tosten brightened considerably, so sure that she was listening and seeing things from a different angle. He nodded immediately and scooted closer again, loosely clinging to one of her arms in his affectionate manner. "I know he would. Ares and Seamus are so sad... I think... I think what happened were a lot of emotions getting confused, and a lot of stupid ideas gone bad... I don't think Seamus really wanted to hurt you, he doesn't hurt friends, he just made a really stupid decision." He insisted this theory to himself and stuck to it. He knew Seamus well enough, he had seen Seamus during the aftermath. The green feien was scared and sorrowful, not proud of what he had done. Sunil Sunil felt a twinge of something deep down inside as Tosten scooted closer. This might be the last time he would show this kind of affection. It was nice to be touched. She certainly didn't feel what she was sure Ares and Seamus felt for each other, but having someone to talk to... no, she wouldn't let herself get distracted. Really this was all Seamus's fault. He had chosen their path and she was going to stick to it. "Maybe I should talk to him. I just don't know if I can face him yet. Maybe in a couple days ... " She trailed off, trying to sound unsure, hoping Tosten would step in. Sure that he would be happy to set up a one on one meeting. Killing the little part inside her that insisted this was wrong. Tosten It wasn't healthy to be so predictable. "You should talk! I know Seamus would want to talk, I can ask him and everything." Tosten was clearly excited now. This could end without anymore violence, he was sure Seamus was very sorry for what happened and would tell her, and then Sunil would forgive him because forgiving was strong too, right? Mental ramblings. "You can meet in the shop or, um, somewhere more private? Cause I know everyone likes to spy and that makes talking hard cause if you try to be serious someone else jumps in and-- oh, should I be there? I guess not, that's spying too..." He was beginning to become talkative again, fretting, wondering and excited at the idea of getting his friends and 'gang' back. Sunil Sunil smiled to herself. This was perfect. Getting what she wanted was so easy. She put her hand gently on Tosten's cheek, mirroring his action from earlier. "Thank you for coming to see me Tosten. You've helped the situation a lot, but I'm a little tired and my neck is still a bit sore from the encounter." It was hard to keep the bitterness out of her voice and she let a little creep in. "I would love to have you talk to Seamus about us meeting somewhere. I'm not really sure where would be best. The store does seem pretty prone to other people eavesdropping. I'll have to think about it. Maybe Seamus will have a suggestion." She hopped off the box and offered him a hand down. It was time for him to leave and let her think things over. Tosten Tosten accepted the hand and came down from the box as well with the most faint flutter of his wings. He frowned though, at mention of her neck and nodded solemnly. He hugged onto her arm for a moment. "I'll talk to come then come back to see you - and I'll bring you something so that you feel better. I know Nekota and the others have to know some stuff to get rid of soreness, I want you to feel better." Then he released her gently. "I can find my way out, get lots of sleep okay? That always helps too." Sunil Sunil, on an impulse, gave him a big bear bug, getting feathers from his wings all over her arms. She released him after a little while walked him to the door. "You're a good friend Tosten. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise." And with that she waved and headed back into her closet. Tosten Tosten returned the wave, rather dazed by the hug, but managed to lit to the air and begin to laboriously long flight back home. But he didn't mind the effort. It was worth it.

April 15, 2004 I managed to head down to the shop last night and I spoke with Neko, Ares's bonder. She seemed alright, but a little on edge and concerned for Ares. Honestly, why are people so intimidtaed by Sunil? She's really a sweetheart, you just have to ignore what she says.
Although, I am starting to worry she is more serious about this revenge thing than I thought. I rented Kill Bill vol. 1 yesterday so I would be ready for the second one when it came out and Sunil has now watched it like 4 times! And she keeps lifting weights and using this pillow as a punching bag while watching it.
I may have to have a little talk with her....~kamtrouble

April 15, 2004 I haven't written in here in a while. I think I thought if I didn't write it down I could pretend it hadn't really happened. I know that is a childish thought though, so I've decided to write down my feelings. At least this way if I fail, Kam will know what I was thinking.
Tosten came to visit me yesterday and I have committed myself to a plan. Tosten thinks I have given up revenge and will forgive and forget, but truly I just need him to set a meeting with Seamus alone for me. I feel bad for misleading him, but I can't be something other than myself. I can't live a lie and pretend to be friends with people I can't trust.
Kam tried to talk to me about how Kill Bill isn't reality. How dumb is she? I know Kill Bill isn't real. As satisfying as that type of revenge looks I don't think I want to kill Seamus or Ares. Afterall neither of them killed me. I just want to scare them the way they scared me. I want them to know they aren't safe, that they live because I am generous enough to allow it.
I've been working out in preparation for my meeting with Seamus, but Kam pointed something out. Seamus didn't beat me because he was stronger than I am. He beat me because he had more magic than I do. Under the assumption that magic is a muscle that needs to be exercised, I have begun practicing the spells I do know. Magic detection is a bit tough since Kam is decidedly unmagical, but I've been boosting my strength and speed with my other spells. I can't last very long right now, but I'm going to keep working at it in between punching my pillow and lifting weights.
I'm not entirely sure punching a pillow is giving me any sort of benefit, but it is helping my frustration.~Sunil

April 16, 2004 Some quotes I liked from Kill Bill Vol. 1:
"For those regarded as warriors, when engaged in combat the vanquishing of thine enemy can be the warrior's only concern. Suppress all human emotion and compassion. Kill whoever stands in thy way, even if that be Lord God, or Buddha himself. This truth lies at the heart of the art of combat. " ~ Hattori Hanzo
"Revenge is never a straight line. It's a forest. And like a forest it's easy to lose your way... to get lost... to forget where you came in." ~Hattori Hanzo

Bad News for Seamus? Sunil Sunil poked her head in the door, checking to see if anyone else was there. It wouldn't do for her revenge to come before she was ready. There didn't seem to be anyone in her immediate sight however and she snuck in on tiptoe. She had hoped to come by and re-read the spell list for offensive spell she could possibly work on learning. She didn't really know anything yet that would help her avoid Seamus's magic hand. Corvus "Sunil, correct?" came a low voice from the shadows. Corvus stepped out of the shadows. It was easy to see why her initial scan of the shop had failed to pick him up. He was dressed in a long black toga, black wings curled around his arms. Even without magic he blended perfectly into the shadows of the dark wood accents in the shop. Sunil Sunil jumped a little at the unfamiliar voice. She had forgotten to try and scan the shop with magic, instead relying on her rather failable eyes. She squinted a little at the unfamiliar feien. He was vaguely familiar, but she couldn't place him. Perhaps someone she had met while a bloom? "Yes. I am Sunil. Who are you? I don't believe we have ever met." She stayed where she was, tensed and unmoving. She wasn't yet sure what level of threat he posed if any at all. Corvus "Actually, we have. You were the ringleader of the gang that broke into Em's office several weeks ago. I'm Corvus, your summoner." He said "your summoner" the way someone says "your king." Sunil Ahh, so that was who he was. She remembered him leading her into talk to Em now. She had always wondered whether Corvus avoided the shop on purpose or not. Now she wondered if he was there more often than they knew, hidden and watching. He cut such a creepy figure in his black toga. "Ah, yes I remember. You're almost never in the store. Don't like what you've created?" She relaxed a little. As she had told Ares a long time ago, it would be silly of him to make them only to then destroy them. Corvus "I did not create the feien. Does a human father create the whole of mankind? I am merely the reason for our continued existence." His face was calm and expressionless as he spoke; only the tone of his words betrayed any emotion. Sunil Sunil rolled her eyes. He was not her father. Or if he was he wasn't a very good one. "I wasn't speaking of feien-kind in general, but the specific feien you've summoned." She sighed. "But that doesn't really matter. I always wanted to ask you one thing though. Do you know what we're going to be like when you summon us? Or is it out of your control?" She peered at him curiously. He was very unlike her former friends. Corvus Corvus stepped further out into the light so as to more properly converse with her. "I control your basic attributes. Colors, gender, height, hair length. But not always. The plant flowers when it reaches a critical energy level, so blooms can be as controlled or random as I please." Sunil Now this was interesting. Sunil leaned in a little, her curiosity overcoming all of her fear. "But you have no control over our personalities? Or our elements?" She paused briefly. "Do you see yourself as a father for all of us? Do you feel a sense of responsibility for what we become?" She frowned. She wasn't sure she liked the idea of someone who had a possibly legitimate claim over her. Corvus "I see you largely as a blight on the face of the Earth," he smirked slightly, "but as I am compelled to continue bringing you into existence, I'm willing to accept that. And no, I do not control your personalities, though I can control your elements." Sunil Sunil laughed. "Do you hate yourself too? Or just the rest of us? And how are you compelled? I can't imagine anyone is forcing you to make us." And a thought occured to her. "Did you make Ares on purpose? Do you have a plan for her powers?" Sunil scowled, forgetting for a second how much she currently disliked Ares. She had hoped to utilize Ares's powers herself at some point. Corvus The line of Corvus's mouth pulled into a grimace. "Her element was the result of extra energy being drained by the plant. She had to exist, apparently. I did not have control over her then, nor do I have any over her now, so you may rightfully assume I have no plans for said powers. Her magic is weak, though. I doubt there is anything she could do for me. You, on the other hand..." Sunil Sunil tensed up again. She had of course assumed she had simply stumbled onto him, but maybe he had been waiting for her. "Me? What exactly do you want with me?" She scowled in his direction. She didn't really want to fight him, since she couldn't even defeat Seamus, but she disliked his implication she could be of use to him. Corvus "To start, I've heard about your little fight. I was hoping to hear a first-hand account." Sunil Now Sunil grimaced. "I didn't get in trouble for rifling through the back room, but I'm in trouble for getting almost choked to death?" She glared at Corvus, attempting to convey her outrage. "The entire thing was not my fault. If someone is going to be punished it should be Seamus." She hissed Seamus name, packing the name with all of her pent up frustration and hatred. Corvus "That was my intention precisely," he said simply. Sunil "Oh." She peered at him. This was unexpected. "Well then, I suppose I can tell you what happened. I fell asleep in the shop after talking to someone briefly in the morning. I woke up and saw some other feien in the shop. I walked over and it was Seamus and Ares. Seamus had grown up, but was still shorter than me so I made a comment about it. He tried to hit me with his magic hand and I managed to withstand it without getting knowcked over. I hit him back, on the shoulder, because I thought we were just having fun. But apparently not as he then tried to choke me to death while Ares just watched. I ended up passing out on the floor and coming to with them staring at me. I left and told them I would do the same to them as they had tried to do to me." Sunil spent most of the story looking at her hands, but gave Corvus a sidelong glance during the last part. She really wasn't sure how he would see her quest for revenge. Corvus The muscles in Corvus's arm tensed. He instantly saw that Seamus had done the same thing to Sunil as to himself. His instinct would seem to be correct: Seamus was a dangerously unhinged feien. "And are you going to keep to your word?" Sunil "Yes. I'm not going to give in to Seamus and allow him to hurt me without hurting him. I've convinced Tosten I want to work things out and he is going to work out a private meeting between Seamus and I. That's when I plan to get him back." Sunil allowed herself a tiny grin of satisfaction. It didn't seem like Corvus was going to try and stop her. Corvus "Interesting," said Corvus, smiling slightly. "Don't tell me you're looking in there for that reason?" He indicated the spell book with his head. Sunil "I am. Seamus beat me with magic. It seems only appropriate I do the same to him. But I don't have anything I can use." Sunil crossed her arms over her chest. "I can feel magic, and I can make myself faster and stronger momentarily, but I have nothing to beat Seamus's magic hand. He'll just do the same thing to me again." She gave Corvus a sideways glance. "I don't suppose you know a solution to that problem?" Corvus "A good attack," began Corvus, "is a combination attack. Strike him on multiple fronts and catch him off guard. Being faster and stronger gives you an advantage on the physical front." He stepped up to Sunil and examined her carefully. "Your magic is strong, but unfocused. When is this meeting scheduled?" Sunil Sunil was pleased he thought she was strong, but frowned a little at his question. "I don't know. Tosten hasn't gotten back to me with Seamus's response. I assume soon... " She trailed off. She hadn't really thought about when it would be. Corvus He turned to look at the spell list. "Seamus is a water, so... the spells he has at his disposal are water and nonelemental." He pointed at both sections. "Your spells, as air, are here, and you also have nonelementals. What spells do you know so far? And do you know what spells he has? I take it from your description Seamus has Magic Hand to start." Sunil "I have uh... " Sunil walked over closer to the spell list. "I have Head Start, Giant Strength, Adrenaline Rush, and I just learned Magic Detection not that long ago. I don't have any Air spells." She pointed at them as she named them. Corvus "Magic Detection is incredibly useful, if you know how to use it. It takes some practice, but you can identify spells and other feien with it. Air Burst should be easy for you to pick up. Shield is a good general one. In your case, since you're already strong on the physical front, perhaps Growth as well. The rest of the air spells are not particularly useful, save for Advanced Flight. Tornado would be, but you're just short of being able to cast it. Whereas Seamus... Has no spells worth worrying about from his element. He choked you with Magic Hand, truly?" Corvus shot Sunil a doubtful look. Sunil Sunil turned a little red. Was he making fun of her? "Yes, he did. He used it to grab my neck and squeeze. I probably didn't help it by struggling. I was surprised." She concentrated on a spot on the wall. "How do I learn these spells? I know how to work out to become stronger, but Kam knows nothing about magic and neither do I really." Corvus "Come with me." Corvus started towards the back room. Sunil Sunil was getting used to Corvus's abrupt manner, but she still didn't really understand what he was getting out of all this. She sighed and followed him anyway. There seemed to be little reason not to. Corvus With a wave of his hand, Corvus shut the door behind them, and indicated that Sunil should take a seat. "Magic is done by a part of our brains we cannot usually access. Consider it the subconscious. There are therefore only two ways we can use magic: subconsciously, as a natural course of events, otherwise called instinctively, or by focusing on unlocking that reservoir of magic and channeling it towards a specific goal. The spells tacked up outside are not by any means the extent of magic. They are simply a few ways to channel our innate magic which are presently known. Do you follow so far?" Sunil Sunil sat down as he indicated and tried to concentrate on what he was saying. "I think so? So, basically magic is something we can either just let happen or we can work at making it happen? And there are more ways to channel it than Em has tacked up on the wall outside." She put her hands in her lap and resisted the urge to fidget. Corvus "Precisely. Close your eyes and relax your mind. Imagine the space around you: the air in the room." Sunil This Sunil knew about. Kam called it meditating. Sunil usually found it boring, but nonetheless she closed her eyes and began breathing rythmically trying to think of nothing but the air in the room around her. She could certainly feel it pressing in gently on her cheeks, little air currents swirling around her lazily. But she really didn't see how this was magical. Corvus "Which way is the air moving?" asked Corvus, voice calm. Sunil Sunil tried to figure out what he meant. She concentrated on the way the air felt on her face, but she couldn't pinpoint a direction. She clenched her fists and tried harder, but that seemed only to make the task more difficult. "I don't know." She sighed in frustration. "It doesn't feel like its going anywhere." Corvus "You're an air feien. Which way do you think it out to be going?" Sunil Sunil sighed again, it was her favorite way of expressing her frustration with the world in general. "Should it be moving at all? It isn't windy in here and I'm not moving. I thought the air just stayed in one place?" Corvus Corvus frowned crossly. "You're an air feien, make it move, dammit." Sunil Sunil opened her eyes and scowled at him. She was starting to get angry. This all seemed rather ridiculous, but she closed her eyes again and tried to use Magic Detection to look at the air. Instead she felt herself, so she tried to push the magic she could feel in herself out into the air to make it move. She wasn't sure but she thought she made a little breath of air somewhere by her ear. Corvus "Finally," went Corvus, rolling his eyes. "Air isn't just a vast nothingness. In your case, it's a vital, living thing which you can control with a bit of thought. Furthermore, you can use the air to fight blindly. Instead of sensing objects, you can sense where objects are not. But that will take still more practice on your part. For now, the goal is accumulation of specific spells that will aid you in your purpose." He paused to take a breath. "When you did that, did you sense a sort of reservoir within yourself? A center of magic, if you will." Sunil Sunil opened her eyes. Maybe he wasn't just being uselessly cruel. "Yes I did. That's how I got the air to move. I sorta... pushed at the air with the magic." Corvus "That reservoir is what you need to draw upon. You can channel it in a number of very different ways. Now get up." He erected a shield around himself; it took next to no effort to do so at this point. "You can sense the magic around me, correct?" Sunil Sunil looked at Corvus and concentrated. She could feel the magic around him, it wasn't hard. "Yes. It feels much more solid than Seamus's. Is that a shield?" Corvus "Very good, it is. Punch it." Sunil Sunil looked at Corvus like he'd lost it. "Why? Isn't it just going to be like punching the wall?" She stepped over in his direction anyway. Everything else had had a purpose. She squared her feet and punched at the shield. Corvus It was indeed like punching a wall. "Assume that this is a spell Seamus has, as it is perfectly logical to assume he does based upon his magic level. Shield is the second most useful spell in the feien arsenal, after the magic detection ability. It blocks physical attacks and objects. It can also block magical attacks to an extent, but eventually will fall. Find that reservoir again and remember how it felt to move the air. Then focus that thought and energy into your punch." Sunil Sunil shook her hand. Punching a wall hurt, which was why she never bothered. She closed her eyes briefly and felt around for her magic. Now that she had found it once, it seemed much easier to find again. She kept her eyes closed, as she could feel the shield in front of her just find and pushed unruly little tendrils of magic down her arm. Then she pulled it back and punched, trying to will the little tendrils to go out a little ahead of her hand. Corvus Amazingly enough, the tendrils of magic that made up the shield broke under her attack and her arm went through the construct. The magic unraveled around her, dissolving into nothingness. Sunil Sunil opened her eyes in shock. There wasn't a wall anymore. She pitched forward totally overbalanced, having anticipated a wall, and landed on her knees. She looked up at Corvus in awe. "Thanks." That was about all she could manage. Punching shields was much cooler than simply being able to see them. Corvus Corvus leaned over and stretched out a hand to help her up. "Any thoughts on why that worked?" Sunil Sunil grabbed onto his hand and pulled herself up. Then she let go and brushed non-existent dust off herself. "I put magic into it? But you said it could block magic for a while... Did you make it not too strong to withstand me?" She furrowed her brow and tried to think of an alternate explaination. Corvus It had been a bit much to hope she would guess on the first try. "Air Burst is an extremely good spell. It combines both a magical and physical element and is focused. Had you attempted to, say, Gale Force your way through the shield, it would not have worked. A large magic attack will distribute energy evenly over the shield. A shield can withstand a large amount of energy if that energy is spread over a wide area. By concentrating the energy into one spot, you can break through. Then the shield collapses. Perhaps I'll explain why another time." He wiped his hand on his toga absentmindedly. Sunil Sunil brightened up. "It's like an egg. Kam says you can crush them in your fist, but its easy to break if you hit in one place. I suppose it makes sense that it would dissipate magic or a physical blow but not a magical and physical blow." She noted him wiping his hand on his toga. "None of the other feien wear clothes. Why do you?" It didn't occur to her that that might be a rude question to ask someone she barely knew. Corvus "So I don't have to touch you lot," he said simply, and thinking that would be the end of it, moved on. "Both Breeze and Air Burst are externalized spells, but there are also internal ones." Sunil Sunil let the odd comment pass. She really didn't know who would just glomp on to someone as intimidating as Corvus, but there were lots of feien she hadn't yet met. "Internal spells? Like Head Start and such?" Corvus "Correct." He allowed himself a small smile; she was fairly smart. "Head Start can generally be used instinctively, as it's based off your speed, so when you want to go that fast, your body naturally draws upon your magic. For a spell like Growth, though, you have to concentrate. You can't simply magically grow bigger because you want to. That is, if Growth interests you as a combat spell." Sunil "Grow bigger? But I'm already taller than Seamus... It almost doesn't seem fair." She frowned. She wanted to get him back, but getting bigger to do it almost seemed like cheating. Of course putting a magic hand around her neck hadn't been fair either. "Nevermind. Sure, can't hurt to try and learn it right?" Corvus "No sense in wasting an advantage," said Corvus. "When you concentrate, try channeling the magic to all parts of your body. It's important to do it equally, and works best if you simply relax and allow the magic to flow at will. Once all the magic is in place, you have to lock it there, for lack of a better word. That's a fundamental difference between Growth and Head Start. With Head Start, the magic quickly dissipates, but with Growth, you want it to stay where you've sent it. We'll start with the dispensing of the magic. Try to release it all over your body, but don't go further than that." Sunil Sunil closed her eyes. For right now she found it mush easier to deal with her magic that way. She felt around for herself, and noticing there didn't seem to be as much to find, she tried nudging it around her body. It didn't really seem to want to cooperate and it took her a while to coax it down to her feet. She managed to get it spread out to all of her body, but it kept trying to pull back to where it had started like overstretched rubber bands. She opened her eyes. "I don't think I can hold it here for long. It doesn't want to stay all spread out." The act of talking seemed to make it worse and she lost a little out of her toes and up her left leg. Corvus "You're uneven. Try not to focus on where it's going, just release it," he suggested. "It's fine if some ends up in the air." Sunil Sunil nodded. "Okay." She closed her eyes again and tried to just relax. Not something she really did all that often. Some of it flowed around to other parts of her body and some of it rushed out in little gasps of air, but in the end it all ended up pretty evenly spread out. She opened her eyes in surprise. "It is much easier if I relax and wait, but isn't it going to be tough to find that time in a fight?" Corvus "Practice makes perfect. Forget about that for a moment, and focus on my magic signal." He closed his eyes and half a second later was a beacon of magic, spread evenly and perfectly. When he spoke, the magic remained, unwavering. "With time and effort, it becomes like a second nature." Sunil Sunil felt him, and realized even sensing magic was getting easier. He made what she had just struggled with look effortless. "I see." She blinked. "You must practice magic a lot." Corvus The magic disappeared as quickly and cleanly as it had emerged. "Generally at least two hours a day. I have precious little else to do, particularly since I haven't been tending to the shop. Even with all that, though, I can't teleport more than twice." Sunil Sunil raised her eyebrows. "Teleport? Wow. How far can you go? And why haven't you been in the shop? Don't like wandering among the unwashed masses?" She tried not to make it sound like a negative comment. The truth was she didn't always feeling like dealing with people either. "I would think you could teach us all a lot. But I guess its better for me that you don't teach us all." She shrugged, really it wasn't her concern what he did just that he had helped her. Corvus He shrugged. "Given that I think the majority of the feien around here are absolute idiots, I would much rather restrict training to those I deem worthy. And it's simply the fact that no one respects my request to be left alone that keeps me out of here. Actually, I recommend it. Much calmer without all the drama that goes on in this building." Sunil Sunil nodded. It was true that all the drama started here. His comment made her realize he hadn't really answered her earlier question. "I don't really want to waste too much more of your time, because I really appreciate what you've showed me, but I have two questions. The first is what was in this for you, since no one does something for nothing and the second is why you make us if you dislike us. Couldn't you just give up on the feien and stop making us?" She tried to look cool about the whole thing, but honestly she was dying of curiosity. She had always figured he liked making new feien. Corvus "Sit," he instructed, sitting himself. "To answer the first, I believe Seamus to be dangerously unstable. From his crying fit, which was for absolutely no reason, to attacking you, he is a danger. And given that most everyone around here hates me based on his crying fit, I have an interest in seeing him get what he deserves. I hate being made out as the great feien villain simply because Seamus is an idiot of a whelp who can't control himself." Sunil Sunil stifled a laugh, while she sat down. "He cried? He didn't tell me that." She thought about what he had said. "Thats a good reason I suppose. If you were to get revenge yourself, you'd only look like more of a villain, but no one will ever have to know you helped me." She nodded. Corvus was smart. She hoped not to get on his bad side. She wasn't really sure he had a good side, but neutral seemed fine in his case. Corvus "I thought everyone had heard about his histrionics by this point. As for the second question..." He paused to work up the courage to say it. "I cannot stop making new blooms any more than you can stop breathing. You're familiar with the genetics information, so surely you know that a summoner is a genetic mutation. It's a mutation on the second gene, which is the gene that governs natural magic, or the amount of magic energy we have to draw upon. You're naturally strong, meaning that you have a larger amount of magic in you than, say, Ares or Arturo, both of whom are weak magically. This doesn't mean that they'll never be able to outperform you magically. "As I'm sure you've also gathered by this point, magic is more about control than anything else. So even though Ares and Arturo have a low magic supply to draw upon, if they learn to control it well, they can perform magic just as well as you or I. "But my gene is different. It has a specific forced mutation. So while you have a naturally large magic reservoir, mine is even larger than that, and the level of my magic constantly increases. The plant drains my magic and uses it to produce new blooms. Were it not for that fact, I would probably burn out. I nearly did." He stared at some far-off point in the middle of the room. Sunil Sunil's eyes widened. "You have too much magic?" The thought seemed incredible to Sunil. "Isn't there anyway to siphon the magic off into something else other than the feien plant? Isn't there any other sort of magical resevoir you could pour it into?" She felt a little bad for him. No wonder he didn't like them. He had to make them in order to survive. Corvus "I tried to see if simply teleporting a great deal would do the trick, but it didn't. I just ended up exhausted, and I very nearly didn't make it back home in one piece." He shuddered slightly at that memory. "Another thing you might not know about magical energy levels: the more you have, the shorter you live. So those feien with the least magic will outlive us by at least a year. More like three years in my case." Sunil Sunil looked contrite for once in her life. She really hadn't meant to bring up what was obviously a delicate subject. "Sorry that was more than two questions. I just can't find much about the feien specifically in literature and no one around here knows anything. If you don't mind, how long do we live? I asked Tosten and he acted like it wasn't a big deal as long as I just lived each day to its fullest." Sunil rolled her eyes. Tosten was so simple. Corvus "For you, three to four years. For Tosten, four to five, and for Ares, six to seven." Sunil Sunil raised her eyebrows. And lost in her curiosity again she asked another question. "Why does the magic wear us out instead of helping us stay alive? I thought magic was the secret to immortality. Most literature has magical beings living longer than non-magical beings." Corvus She raised a good point, and an avenue worth pursuing. "Perhaps that may be true for larger magical creatures, such as unicorns, dragons, and elves, but in our case, our magic is very unstable. Our bodies simply cannot maintain magical production for so long. It burns out over time, and then ceases altogether, at which point we die." Sunil "Like stars except it takes much longer." Sunil nodded to herself. "So no magic is bad, but very little is good. Interesting. I don't suppose you also know a lot about runes or alchemy?" Sunil laughed a little to herself. "You're like the fountain of knowledge, Corvus. Much better than the internet." Corvus "Feh, you shouldn't be mucking about on the Internet anyway," he chided. "All that technology is the reason our kind started to die out in the first place. Runes I know a bit about, but alchemy... I think Em knows two people well-versed in that area, but I myself am not." Sunil The night was full of revelations. "The internet is killing us? Oh dear. I suppose photocopiers aren't good for us either. Or microwaves. Its too bad. They make being lazy so much easier." Sunil stifled a yawn. "I think I'm too stuffed with knowledge to learn anything else, but maybe I could ask you about runes sometime in the future? If not, its ok, I have some books on it and I've been practicing." She stifled another yawn. She was more tired than she would have expected. Corvus "Of course. If you need to reach me, use the emergency portal to reach Em's apartment. Any time you like. You should probably get some rest now; such is the price paid for excessive use of magic. It gets better with time." He stood and stretched, joints cracking in protest. Sunil Sunil stood as well, slightly unsteadily. She grinned at Corvus. She didn't know what everyone else complained about. He seemed very useful. "Thank you." She waited for him to open back up the backroom door, so she could slowly wing her way home. Corvus With a wave, it opened, sending in a fresh gust of air. "Take care of yourself and practice. You're fighting for both of us." Sunil Sunil gave him a tired good night wave, and stifling another yawn attack, took to the air to mostly float her way home.

Late at Night I met Corvus. He seemed fine, maybe there is another summoner named Corvus? He taught me all about my magic. I'm going to practice some more when I wake up. Seamus won't know what hit him.~Sunil

Ares and Sunil talk about nothing... >_> Ares Ares quiet sat on the edge of the windowsill, swinging her little legs. She'd been alone most of the day, no one having stopped by, but she didn't mind. She used this time to think to herself, her dark blue wings folded down over her bare shoulders, the little flower-gem bracelet on her right wrist glistening slightly in the light. Her three red eyes were closed as she thought, and she was humming a song Neko had taught her. Apparently, this was something else that would allow Ares to stay so calm. Sunil Sunil tiptoed into the shop and scanned with both eyes and magic. After being surprised by Corvus the night before, she wasn't taking any chances. She honestly was suprised to feel someone there. She hoped it wasn't Seamus, but clenched her fists in case. "Hello?" Ares She little pointed ear twitched slightly upon hearing a voice, and she opened her eyes to see Sunil. For a moment, she was quiet, not wanting to say anything, but then her soothing voice piped up. "Hello..." Sunil Sunil raised her eyebrows and relaxed. That voice was undoubtably Ares. She thought about leaving for a moment, but she and Ares had unfinished business. So she gritted her teeth and walked towards Ares. "Hi Ares. You know, I have to tell you something, and it isn't the sort of thing that comes particularly easy to me. I never intended to actually harm you." Sunil studied her feet and clenched her fists at the memory. She still hadn't made Seamus pay for what had followed. Hopefully Tosten would get back to her about the meeting soon. "You're much smaller than I am. It really wouldn't be fair. I just wanted Seamus to stop and I made a tactical error. My fight isn't really with you per se, just with Seamus." Ares Ares blinked a few times, a bit surprised. Something didn't seem right...nor did it feel right. She felt a little frightened for some reason. "Even so...you, you tried to attack me, Sunil. You said you'd never attack anyone in the gang..." she looked down towards her feet, sadly. "What hurt even worse was that I hadn't done anything to be involved...maybe had I been a little quicker, I could have stopped Seamus. Demo...I didn't know what was going on..." Sunil Sunil sighed, of course she was going to hide behind not knowing what was going on at the time. "I didn't think "the gang" was in effect anymore. After all I was struggling after one of you had attacked me. I naturally assumed that meant we had dissolved our ties." Sunil was getting angry and she had to remind herself she was supposed to be ready to settle things. She tried to outwardly relax. "I'm apologizing, but I won't promise again. Promises that all-encompassing are too easy to break." She wondered how Ares would take a comment like that. Ares Ares looked up at Sunil, as if she'd been struck. But...what about Ares' promise to Sunil? That she'd tell her everything she found out about herself? Ares had never broken that promise...even after they hadn't seen each other for a while. Even now she wouldn't...despite the fighting. "Do you think Tosten and I would ever attack anyone?" She sighed lightly. "I...I accept your appology...I think." Sunil Sunil shook her head. "I don't really care whether you accept. I just felt like I should offer it." She shook her head to herself. Dealing with Ares was tough. "Whether you or Tosten would attack someone is irrelevant. I am not you or Tosten, so you can't expect me to act like you. I don't go out of my way to attack people, so as long as no one provokes me I don't anticipate attacking anyone." ... except Seamus, she noted silently to herself. He really had it coming in a way Ares didn't. "What are you doing here alone anyway? Shouldn't you be at home, scared I'm going to attack you?" Sunil scowled. She didn't get any respect, even now when she had threatened them. She conveniently forgot for a second she had promised Tosten she was over the whole thing. Ares Ares looked back down towards her feet. "Wh-Why would I be home? Besides...you're here now, and you haven't attacked me. So if anything, this is no different than me being at home...I could either be there and be scared, or be here and be scared..." she said calmly. kamtrouble: Sunil put her hands behind her back and rocked a little back and forth on her toes. "No need to be scared, " she said grudgingly, "I'm sure Tosten has already told you Seamus and I are meeting to work this out alone. This should all be settled soon." Ares Her ear twitched slightly. Sunil and Seamus were...meeting alone? "No...I don't know anything. I haven't seen Tosten since he asked about what happened..." Sunil Sunil grimaced at her mistake. She shouldn't have volunteered that information. "Err... yes. Tosten volunteered to find a good place for Seamus and I to meet, so we could work this out. One on one." Sunil tried not to sound too sinister, but the truth was she was looking forward to the look on Seamus's face when he realized what was really going on. Ares One on one...? "Sunil...you're...you're not going to hurt Seamus, are you?" Sunil Sunil avoided Ares eyes. She was gonna have to lie, just like she did to Tosten. Why was everyone determined to discover her plan and stop her? "Do you think Tosten would let that happen?" She dodged the question and let out a silent internal sigh of relief. Ares "No..." she admitted. "Unless you tricked him..." kamtrouble: Damnit! Ares was too perceptive by half. "I guess you still don't have the ability to see the future do you? If you could you would know that everything will be fine." Sunil tried joking and vagueness to get Ares off the scent. If this kept up, she was going to need a reason to leave. She started thinking. Ares "M-maybe you're right," she said, sighing lightly. "Maybe I'm just worrying too much..." But I can't shake the feeling that she's hiding something, Ares thought to herself. I should try to find Seamus before Sunil meets with him. Sunil Sunil smiled, she'd dodged a disaster. She prayed Tosten came up with a place soon. Otherwise she'd have some explaining to do. "You worry too much Ares. You should relax. Have you been practicing your fencing?" Sunil found Ares swordplay very interesting. Not for her, but interesting. Ares Ares nodded. "Arturo taught me a little bit more the other night..." she said softly, a slight blush appearing on her cheeks, But that quickly faded. "One day, I want to be as good as he is." kamtrouble: Sunil noted her flush with interest and filed it away. She wasn't sure what it meant, but she figured it was worth knowing. "If you practice I'm sure you will be. Corvus told me if I practiced my magic it would get better and easier. Stand to reason the same would be true of swordplay." Sunil nodded sagely. Ares Corvus...? She blinked a few times, looking back up at Sunil. "You spoke with Corvus??" she asked. Sunil Sunil looked at Ares in surprise. She sounded shocked, maybe she should have kept it a secret. She figured the topic was secret, but the meeting itself fair game. She considered her answer for a second. "Why do you sound so shocked? I mean I know he is rarely here, but I mean he did summon us.... makes sense he would drop by every once and a while." Ares "I haven't seen him around for so long...and I haven't exactly met him myself," she told her. "I can't explain why, but he scares me..." Sunil "Really?" It slipped out before Sunil could help it. People seemed so wary of Corvus, but he honestly hadn't seemed that bad. She decided not to abuse Ares of her fear, Corvus had said he hated all of them. Maybe he tried to be scary. "Huh, I don't trust him, but I wasn't scared." Not entirely true, but Sunil had an image to maintain. Ares "I've only ever seen him yelling at others...demo, I'm sure that he's not as bad as everyone thinks," she admitted, finally standing up. "There's just something about him though..." Sunil Sunil shuffled her feet. She probably should get home and practice a little more. It eould be nice if Tosten found a place soon, otherwise Ares might mention something to Seamus and ruin the whole thing. "Yeah, I know what you mean. Anyway, I better get going. I'll leave you alone to whatever you were doing before I came in." Sunil started out and then turned back and whispered while waving, pitching her voice so low she could barely hear it. "I hope you can forgive me." Ares Ares blinked a few times, turning her head to look at Sunil. After a moment, she finally smiled. "Of course..." she said softly. Sunil Sunil didn't notice Ares's smile or her words because she had already turned back towards the door. She hopped out and took flight, winging her way back home.

A chapter in which Seamus gets his butt kicked and Sunil is surprisingly nice. XP Tosten Talk about a tiring flight. First he had been to Proto's home to ask Seamus if he was ready, then toted the green feien off toward the decided meeting place... which meant he needed to get Sunil there next. He hoped it was all right that she didn't get a warning beforehand, he hadn't truly desired to make that many flights as much as he loved the air. So when he appeared in the conveniently open window, he was loud with excitement and high spirits, as today seemed like it might be good day. "Suniiiil! SunilSunilSunil~!" Sunil Sunil was working on her magic under her bonsai tree when she felt some sort of magic approaching the house. She opened her eyes, unfolded from her sitting position, and was halfway out of her closet when she heard Tosten calling. She padded her way out to the window. "What do you want Tosten?" Tosten Tosten crouched upon the sill to rest his legs a moment, or rather his wings which were settled upon the sill as well from his position. "Hi Sunil! Are you ready to go to the meeting? Cause, I mean, I would have told you before hand but I was really tired so can you go now, cause Seamus is already there and you're ready right? Cause I figure he's gonna do most of the talking anyway and..." Well. let's just say it just went on from there, he was brimming with nervous energy. Sunil Sunil peered at Tosten trying to collect her thoughts. She hadn't anticipated the meeting so soon. Thank goodness she had run into Corvus the night before. She tried desperately to think of a reason to put the meeting off so she could practice and prepare more, but she knew anything she said would seem suspicious since she supposedly just wanted to talk. She walked over to the sill by Tosten and ruffled his hair with her hand. "Sounds fine. You gonna show me the way or just tell me how to get there?" Tosten Tosten grinned and straightened as she joined him, trying futilely to regroom that frizzy hair back into order but the ruffling made it twice as hopeless. "I'm gonna show you cause it's kinda hard to give directions too, cause it's in a forest sorta, you see, by my home cause we couldn't really think of anywhere and it's quiet there and no one will sneak up and are you ready cause my wings will get tired if I wait so c'mon!" Look at that didn't need to breathe once and already he was fluttered in the air eagerly, waiting momentarily for her to take flight as well. Sunil Sunil hopped off the sill and spread her wings, taking flight behind Tosten. She tried to get more beside him than behind him in order to avoid the random blue feathers he shed from time to time. Tosten Then off they would go, and good luck avoiding his feather storm. Maybe it was a bit of a flight, but Sunil was an air elemental too so perhaps that made it a little faster. As aforementioned, the location was a woodsy sort of place at the foot of that mysterious mountain that appeared outside of Barton [coughcough]. More specifically it was a grove, not deep enough in to get lost from easily but enough that it was unlikely anyone that knew them would stumble across their 'conversation'. This grove was a realm of mushrooms, large, small - and by large it would mean massive by feien standards. It was here that Tosten had led Seamus earlier, and when these two made their way through the brief clusters of trees there it'd be there the green feien was hopefully still waiting. Seamus As they approached the grove of mushrooms, Seamus saw them coming, as he had been scanning the sky for signs of them, and hopped off of the mushroom he had been sitting on, to wait for their landing. Sunil Sunil drifted behind Tosten, her stomach in knots as she surveyed the area. She wondered how much farther they were going to go when she thought she spotted Seamus. Tosten "Mmm -- there he is!" By this point it was pretty apparent that was Seamus but he pointed down toward the feien anyway and dipped down to spill the small air from his wings to the mushroom level. Swooping to this landing point he soon lit lightly upon the mushroom top with a heaving sigh. "Whoo.. tiring." Then rose his eyes for Sunil's landing. He nwas excited for this meeting, optimistic that something good will come of it... and honestly still quite worried, which translated into more hyperactivity then normal for him. Seamus Seamus took several steps to close the distance between them, a nervous but expectant grin on his face. Sunil Sunil set herself down lightly on the mushroom by Tosten and looked at Seamus impassively for a second before turning to Tosten. "Thank you for making this possible Tosten." Sunil gave him a little half smile. "I know you're tired, but Seamus and I need to talk alone. One on one. You understand that right?" Tosten Blink blink. That head inclined like a puzzled puppy learning the word 'no' and not grasping it in the least. "Alone...? Oh, um, of course! I.. I'll um... go then...." Or something like that. He glanced down, to Seamus thoughtfully, then up to Sunil with an innocent grin. Then floosh, wings flapped to breeze them both over with the cooler night air and a few of the smaller feather variety. "Bye then...!" And with that he fluttered from the grove, at first with the intention to head home. Sunil Sunil closed her eyes for a second, checking on that little place inside herself she knew now held the secret to magic. It wasn't full, she had been practicing, but there was plenty to do anything she knew how to do. Assured of herself, she looked at Seamus, letting her eyes tell him her true purpose there. She was angry and he was going to pay, but she wanted him to see that, to understand what he was facing, before she actually attacked him. Seamus After watching Tosten leave, Seamus looked to Sunil and began to speak. "Sunil... I'd like to thank you for your discretion..." his words were awkwardly cut short when he caught the look in her eyes, however. Stopping in his tracks, he stammered "S-Sunil?" Sunil Sunil hopped down from her higher perch and approached Seamus, slowly and delibrately. "Do you honestly think I am so weak as to let what you tried to do to me pass without retribution?" She stopped, placing her hands on her hips as if waiting for an answer. Tosten Tosten had to pause for a breath when a thought struck him. Now what if they chat, then want to go home and get lost? What if Seamus says something bad and needs some secret advice? What if HIS wings get all tired and he falls down and wolverine comes and gobbles him up and everyone never knows and they go around calling 'Tosten!' all day but he's GONE?! Well.. that decides it. Maybe he should stick around, a forest a night can be dangerous for little feien. Especially when travelling alone, right? Right. So now he turned on his branch and doubled back with these innocent thoughts. But Sunil did want to be alone, so maybe he'll just stay out of the way, in a tree or such, where he could rest but alert of any danger. Yes. A good plan. Seamus Seamus paled and took a step backwards. "I... Sunil, I wasn't trying to hurt you... working something out is less weak than giving in to what you're feeling." he pleaded, worried. Sunil Sunil sighed, crossing her arms over her chest and gathering her magic in her right arm. "Why does everyone keep saying that? It isn't true, you know, working things out is EASY, and therfore must be the weak way out." She sneered at him. "I am not weak." She closed the distance between them and threw her punch at his midsection, pushing her magic out ahead of her fist just like Corvus had taught her. Seamus "Sunil!" Seamus cried out as she lined up for the punch. Too late... as if she would have stopped, anyway. The blow was true to its mark and sent Seamus stumbling backwards, where he fell clean onto his rear end, the wind knocked out of him. He looked back up at her desperately with wide, moistening eyes. "Sunil..." he said again, this time little more than a gasp. Sunil Sunil stumbled a little as Seamus went down, she had beed practicing on the wall and a feien didn't involve quite the same amount of resistance. She looked down at him, tearing up and wondered to herself why he wasn't fighting back. "Fight me!" She roared, frustrated. She could only prove her superiority if he lost in a fair fight. Tosten It was around now Tosten returned to the grove. Or at least the edge of it. A branch became his landing point where he flopped with a breath of tiredness, giving his head a shake - and plum near toppling off of it as he heard them below. Fight - uh? That definitely couldn't be the word he heard, and those long ears twitched as though to ensure they hadn't fallen off like it felt like his wings should have long ago. He leaned forward to peer down at the mushroom, confused by the sight of Sunil standing over a fallen Seamus. What happened, what was happening? Seamus Seamus, still gasping for breath from the force of the punch, shook his head at Sunil as he pushed himself up to his feet. "I didn't"... he paused for a breath. "I didn't come here to fight you." Sunil Sunil glared at him and crossed her arms. Suddenly she grinned, looking almost comically evil. She lowered her voice and hissed at him. "Not even for poor weak Ares? If you can't provide some sort of amusement, I'm sure she would." To be fair Sunil had seen Ares not that long ago and hadn't touched her at all, but Seamus didn't need to know that. Seamus Seamus' eyes narrowed, taking on a visage reminiscent of how had looked at Sunil during the 'meeting' that started this whole thing. "You... goddamnit, Sunil, do you take pleasure in attacking those who can't defend themselves? Ares has done nothing to you. Don't touch her." he begged. Tosten This.. wait, but.. had he come across ANOTHER grove with a green and blue feien meeting? Because this couldn't be what he had just left. He shifted onto hands and knees, wings mantled out for balance as he peered below in concern. He didn't make a move yet though, hoping these were all words of anger and not true promise of actions... though Seamus wasn't looking so hot, had she truly attacked him? Sunil Sunil laughed. Maybe she could still make this interesting. Thus far there had been much to much talking and not enough fighting. "You are perfectly capable of defending yourself Seamus. I think we're all aware of that. And I'm not the one who involved Ares in all of this. You're the one who went beserk in front of her. Maybe you should take responsibility for you actions like a real man, and FIGHT ME!" Sunil readied herself for another punch. She figured she really only had one, possibly two more before she would start to feel the effects of too much magic. Seamus Seamus flinched at the insult as if he had been stricken, but shook his head slowly. "No... the only one not taking responsibility here is you. Someday maybe you'll learn that you can't beat everything into submission. Until then, though, I don't have the time nor the will to make you see a truth you make a point of concealing from yourself." With that, he turned and began to walk away from her meaningfully. She had just wounded his honour, however, and he was walking away more than anything just to avoid lashing out. Sunil Sunil shook her head. He wasn't going to get out of this that easy. He hadn't let her walk away. She gathered her energy and sped towards his back, throwing another air fueled punch at the back of his head. Tosten Now Tosten wasn't all that bright, but it didn't mean he wasn't wise. And he had to admit, Sunil looked pissed and Seamus turning his back on her? Well, even Tosten flinched at the action and as he suspected Sunil wasn't going to just let him leave. He had been hoping to stay out of this, maybe just let them scuff a little because that could be harmless... but Sunil's aim was clear, even before it was landing, and even if he'd be far too late to prevent it he nonetheless fluttered from the branch as quickly yet unelegantly as a pheasant startled by the first shot of hunting season::. "Sunil!!" Seamus Seamus had expected an attack, but not one with such speed and ferocity. She was clearly faster than him, he realized as her punch connected and he went flying downward, faceplanting into the mushroom upon which the drama was taking place. If looks could kill, Sunil would have been dead a thousand times over given the glare that Seamus gave her when he looked back at her from the ground. A single tear slid down his cheek. "Sunil." he hissed venemously, ignoring Tosten's shout. "You... you b***h," he spat, searching for the words, "take advantage of an opponent with his back turned? That's how you fight, is it?" Sunil Sunil probably should have been paying attention to her opponent, but it was Tosten's rapidly approaching form that garnered her full attention. What was he doing here? She wanted to beat the crap out of Seamus, but she really didn't want to hurt Tosten. She didn't think he was even capable of being mean, and he'd never taken her jibes as anything but jokes. His being here almost made her want to give up, but Seamus had just started to respond. The fight was just beginning. So she stood there, unsure of herself while Tosten approcahed and Seamus called her names. Tosten Seamus' reply startled Tosten to pause in mid air, fluttering momentarily over the mushroom set battlefield. He stared in shock between them both... for Sunil's actions, for Seamus' words. And honestly a little surprised that Seamus was still moving. Sunil was strong and fast, he knew that, a blow to the head unprotected? Ouch, and little did he know that magic force had been mixed with it. The fact that Seamus could manage to speak was a surprise to him - but to sputter those words? Well, his interruption was delayed due to unforeseen reactions. Seamus Seamus reached up to the back of his head, touching it gingerly and wincing at the soreness he found there. He rolled over slowly onto his back so he could look up at Sunil, still not ready to stand again. "I expected better from you, Sunil. Marginally." He was beginning to see that not letting Sunil's provocation get to him was instead getting to her. Sunil Sunil glanced back at Seamus. He looked pretty hurt, he wasn't even trying to get up. She wondered how long it would take him to fly back home after all of this. She rolled her eyes at him. "Oh please, you expected me to come and talk to you." She acted like the word talk was a bug that had flown into her mouth and she just wanted to get it out as quickly as possible. "All I want from you is for you to admit that I'm the boss. That you and I both know that I can beat you up anytime I want. Then I'll leave you alone." She raised one eyebrow waiting to see what he would do. She was glad at least that he wasn't crying. Tosten Now... Tosten was positively confused. No use leaving now, he had revealed himself. And honestly he didn't want to go as he was so deathly frightened of what they might do to eachother. The last thing he wanted to do was head home, then come tomorrow hear from one of the guardians that their feien never came home. It'd be all his fault! He fisted his hand over his mouth, looking back and forth in worried surprise and honest confusion for Sunil's claims. What did she mean? She told him she was coming to talk to Seamus, she must be making a mistake because of her emotions right now and saying wrong things. Seamus Seamus laughed out loud at Sunil's comment, but only for a moment as the headache it gave him put a stop to that. "You... you want me to admit that you're..." despite his headache, he was unable to withhold a few more chuckles, "that you're the boss?" He continued to smirk. Sunil was younger than he was. Had she no respect? "I'm sorry, Sunil, but I can't admit what isn't true." he replied, his pride speaking for him. Sunil If she could have, Sunil would have killed him right then and there. She was standing over him. She had beaten him. How dare he! Sunil forgot all of the magic Corvus had shown her about and she resorted to using her bare hands. She circled them around Seamus's neck and started to squeeze. "You insufferable p***k! You think you're better than me? I'm going to show you just how wrong you are." Sunil's face was twisted with rage and hatred. Tosten Why was Seamus saying these things? Then again he had been attacked, but- she, and he, they... gyah! The attempt at pondering out logic fled when Sunil became so furious that her hands went around the throat of Seamus. His eyes widened and now he swooped the rest of the way down to hook onto one of her arms, tugging and pulling with all his might. And his might wasn't much at all, in fact it was more his size and annoying cling being more of a burden then any strength at all. He could understand, on a disliking but compromising level, her hitting him for all that. But throttling him? She was trying to kill him! Seamus Seamus tried in vain to scramble backwards, away from his assailant, but she had him firmly restrained. His hands flew to her wrists and attempted to pry hers off of his throat, but he was no match for her physically. Eyes widening at what Tosten was attempting, Seamus choked out, "T-Tosten! No!... Get... Out!" as he continued struggling under Sunil's onslaught. Sunil Sunil stared down at Seamus, hardly paying attention to what was going on around her. "Admit it! Admit I beat you!" She screamed at him, punctuating her words by banging his head against the mushroom. She was starting to lose it, having used so much magic earlier. Between Seamus struggling for his life and Tosten hanging on her arm, she wasn't sure how much longer she could keep strangling Seamus. She looked over at Tosten and hissed at him. "I thought I asked you to stay out of this Tosten. Why are you here?" Tosten Now wasn't really the time to go into explanation he felt. Tosten just blinked up at her with wide eyes ranging from fear, to confusion and tears. He pulled at her arm yet again. "Please, please stop!" Either of them by this point, why wouldn't Seamus just say it? How could someone's pride be so... stubborn?! Seamus Seamus could see spots in front of his eyes as his consciousness slowly faded away in the midst of his oxygen-deprived brain being rattled about. He tried to say something, but he could barely control his tongue and it came out an incomprehensible garbled phrase. Sunil Sunil was still looking at Tosten and was unaware of Seamus slipping out of consciousness. Her grip was loosening not of her own will and she pleaded with Tosten. "Just walk away Tosten. You don't need to be here." Tosten A useless plea, his stubborn grip wouldn't fade and every few seconds he'd tug rapidly or heave with all his lacking strength. A frantic glance was given to Seamus, uttering some senseless sounds, which encouraged him to flutter his wings some to try to put more force to his pulling. "I can't -- please, please Sunil let him go, don't do this, this is horrible..! I know your angry and you should be but you're going to kill him!" Seamus Though Sunil's grip only loosened slightly, it proved enough for Seamus' bloodflow to rise back up to a more acceptable level and the spots before his eyes retreated. It also meant he could speak again. "Tosten..." he said hoarsely, "don't. She'll hurt you. I don't want her to hurt you." Sunil Sunil's grip slipped off Seamus's neck as Tosten used his wings to add strength to his pulling. "Fine, but no matter what he says, " Sunil spit in Seamus general direction (and missed), "I won and I'm still leader of the gang." She ignored Seamus's ramblings. Tosten hadn't done anything to her. She wasn't going to hurt him. Tosten Though Sunil released Seamus he did not release her. Though he ceased with the wing power he hooked onto her arm like a child clung to a parent when strangers were around.. though less affectionate as it was just plain terrified. He wasn't really aware he was still hooked on her, and perhaps on a level he did to discourage her from launching at Seamus again lest the Irish feien sputter more bad things. "Seamus, please, just stop, just..." .::A few moments and he tried again::. "Why do you both have to do this? Don't hurt eachother anymore, not like this, if it gets any worse I'll lose one of you and I can't stand that!" .::A little bit on the selfish level, but such came with childish thoughts. He worried of himself being alone because of their anger::. Seamus Seamus scooted away from Sunil as soon as she released her grip. To Tosten's pleading, however, he looked to the horned Feien tearfully. "Tosten, I... I don't know if I can." he said simply, his voice still scratchy. Sunil Sunil looked at Seamus, but made no attempt to shake off Tosten. "So you expected me to forgive and forget, but you can't do it yourself. What unsurprising hypocrisy." She smirked at him. Tosten Tosten was stumped now, staring down at Seamus in confusion. "What... why...?" Seamus Seamus glared back at Sunil. "No, the only hypocrite is the one who said she would never try to harm Ares. I did expect you to forgive and forget, Sunil, but since you didn't I can't do the same for you." He dissolved into a series of coughs as his strained throat protested the amount of speech he was giving. Sunil Sunil glared at him. "I actually have never seriously contemplated harming Ares. I simply figured you would let go if I threatened her. She is your biggest weakness. That and your pride." She was pleased to hear him cough, now he would know exactly how she had felt. Seamus "You should talk about pride," replied Seamus coldly and sarcastically to Sunil's commentary. Tosten Tosten stared at at Seamus then up at Sunil.. then back again, positively confused. Seamus had said- but, uh... well.... "Seamus...?" Now he felt both of them had never told him their true feelings, this wasn't what either of them had told him the night prior. "... Y-you're both so selfish!" He interrupted fiercely at last, burying his face some against Sunil even though it was her he spoke of too. "You just keep arguing about pride and hurting eachother and what about everyone else? Do you think Ares would be proud of what you're saying right now, Seamus!" He shook his head slightly and clung all the more to Sunil's arm. "And I don't want to lose either of you, if you just both keep fighting something bad will happen and... and I won't forgive anyone!" Not much of a threat at all, unlike them he really had no idea of to even begin threatening with physical violence. He only had the weapon of childish words. Sunil Sunil ruffled Tosten's hair feeling bad for him. "Everyone has to look out for themselves Tosten. You can't let other people burn you out or take advantage of you." Which is of course what she had just done to him. She kept her face coldly turned away from Seamus. She really wanted to hit him again, but Tosten was making that impossible. Seamus Seamus blinked at Tosten's words. There was truth to them. But he still wasn't ready to forgive Sunil, not after she had tricked him. He had been so hopeful to finally set things right, and as a result had walked right into her trap. Her last comment caused him to forget Tosten's words momentarily, however. He snorted. "And you just called me a hypocrite. You've been taking advantage of us since we started the gang. First, the backroom. You got off easy while we took the blame for your idea. And now this. I suppose when you sent Tosten to set up this meeting, you knew all along what was actually going to happen." As he brought up those topics, his eyes became progressively more damp in spite of themselves, and he sniffed, drying them furiously with an arm. Sunil "Of course I knew. And you should have too. I warned you when I left the store that night. And as for the backroom, I admitted what I did to Em and she chose not to punish me. That isn't my fault, crybaby." She sneered at Seamus, remembering Corvus's comments the night before. Tosten "..." Most of what Seamus presented didn't matter to him. Sunil never took advantage of him, in his eyes. Tosten had wanted to go into the backroom, he took childish glee in her mischief. But when Seamus accused her of planning this violence ahead of time and not telling him? Well there he was stumped and just kind of blinked at the mushroom beneath their feet, half listening to their exchange of insults while never releasing Sunil. Seamus "Crybaby?" said Seamus, blinking. Who else had called him a crybaby? Proto said Em thought he was a crybaby... "Em, Corvus... you've been talking to them, haven't you?" he accused suspiciously. Sunil Sunil brought her face back to impassivity. She was unsure whether to reveal her talk with Corvus or not. "Why would you say that?" She had trouble keeping her voice calm. Seamus "Proto said Em called me a crybaby." replied Seamus. "Did Em tell you that? I know she detests me after the shop thing... she sent you, didn't she?" Sunil "No she didn't." Sunil was relieved. She could reply truthfully and hide her late night meeting. Seamus Seamus looked at her suspiciously, and then thought maybe he might play a last hope. "Sunil... I don't want to be enemies. I really don't." Sunil She raised an eyebrow at him. "I told you what I needed from you earlier. Anytime you're willing, I'll accept your admission of weakness. Until then I will regard you as my rival and I will do everything in my power to beat and humiliate you." Seamus Seamus raised an eyebrow. "I never argued against your physical superiority, Sunil. But that doesn't make you a better person. You need a heart for that." he replied icily. Tosten "..." Tosten lifted his eyes faintly and peered up at Sunil, watching her distractedly as she spoke, half registering their words. Though that time he heard Seamus, twitching an ear and glancing toward him then up at Sunil with a frown. "Sunil has a heart..." He protested very quietly now as though he had lost the energy to put such volume to a normally loud voice. Seamus "A black one." replied Seamus, unwavering. "Betrays her friends." Sunil "A heart is a weakness. And if I didn't have a heart I would have beaten up Tosten and then finished you off. And I didn't ask for you to say I was a better person, just the top dog." She shook her head at him. "You are not my friend Seamus, so you really can't say I betrayed you. After all you beat me up first." She clenched her fists. Talking was getting them nowhere fast. Seamus Seamus sighed and looked down. "You beat yourself up. I wasn't trying to choke you. You struggled and choke yourself." he said quietly. "I thought we were friends, but I guess that was all part of your plan, hrm?" Sunil "How were we friends Seamus? You only hung out with me because I hung out with Ares. And I'm still waiting for your admission. If I don't get it soon, Tosten or no Tosten, I'm going to continue our fight." She crossed her arms over her chest, moving a little away from Tosten. Tosten Well with words like that Tosten just hooked onto her arm, all the more stubborn. Not more fighting. He knew eventually they would again, he couldn't tag after them everywhere and watch their evey interaction to ensure they didn't fight. But he was here right now, so he'd be a pest with everything it took. "J,just say it Seamus, she's stronger then you..." Seamus had half admitted it, just piled insults on top of it. He looked pleadingly at the green feien, not understanding an ounce of his pride debate, or why it mattered more then pain and friendship. Seamus Seamus' eyes narrowed. "I was there before Ares, in case you forgot. Apparently your memory is as bad as your logic. You may be top dog physically, but personally you're not even close." He glanced sadly at Tosten, who didn't seem to understand. Seamus was not trying to boost his pride, he was trying to check hers. Sunil Sunil shook her head, this was all folly. She had failed to teach Seamus a lesson and it looked like she would be unable to jettison Tosten anytime soon. "This is going nowhere. We'll do this again when Tosten isn't around to save you. I suggest you train. I will be. Although I doubt you'll catch up. I have people backing me who are much more powerful than anyone you have on your side." She tried to pull away from Tosten. She intended to leave and head home. Seamus Seamus snickered. "Just like the last time. Leaving before it's over." Tosten Tosten blinked at Sunil in surprise at this and flawed her attempt but once again leeching on with all his stubborn might, squeezing his eyes shut with the force. "Suniiiil..." A whine by this point. Sunil Sunil used the last of her magic to add strength to her punch from the arm Tosten wasn't holding which she aimed right at Seamus's stupid smirk. She hoped she knocked his teeth out. Seamus Fortunately for Seamus, the distance between them put a damper on the strength of the attack so his teeth remained in place, though his head did snap backward rather harshly. Slowly levelling his gaze at Sunil, he sighed. "Look, I admit you're stronger than me, okay? Is that what you want?" Tosten Ow. Tosten flinched when Sunil struck out with the other fist and nailed Seamus in the face. Why did Seamus keep saying rude things? It.. it just didn't make sense. He peered at the green feien worriedly to make sure he was all right, but sure enough he was talking again so he must be fine despite the abuse he was taking. Tosten admired that a little, he'd be down and crying over the first hit ^^; Sunil "Yes it is. I suppose we're done now." She tried to shrug Tosten off half-heartedly. She was tired and she wanted to go home. It looked like she gad achieved her aim. Oddly enough it wasn't as satisfying as she expected. Seamus Seamus came down from the other mushroom he had been sitting on and boldly approached Sunil. "Are we at peace, then?" Tosten Well, Sunil had gotten what she wanted. Though he wasn't so sure if she was done with Seamus or not. He held on a moment for a reason he didn't understand, peering up at her worriedly. He seemed about to say something but went silent at Seamus' approach, blinking over at him. Sunil "Sure." Sunil held out her free hand, humans in the movies always shook over things like this. Seamus His face lifting into a grin at the prospect of finally settling this issue, Seamus stepped close enough to reach her hand and took it in a firm handshake. "No hard feelings...?" Tosten Maybe it was the fact that he felt lied to several times this evening, but Tosten wasn't as excited as he expected to be at the idea of them making up. He just quietly watched them both as they spoke and made their exchanges. Sunil "No, you admitted I'm stronger. All I asked." Sunil shook his hand and then let go. "Will you let go of me now Tosten? I'm too tired to try and fly with you holding on." Tosten "..." He gave a faint extra squeeze anyway like some odd sort of hug but then finally let her poor arm go from all the cling-abuse. Seamus Seamus blinked. "Well... I hadn't expected it to be that simple... hey, wait a minute..." His wonderment was nagging at him, "That air punch... is that a new spell? When did you learn that?" Sunil Sunil was too tired at this point to deal in deception. "It is a new Air elemental spell I learned. Corvus taught me how to do it." She realized as soon as that left her lips that this meeting might be far from over. Seamus Seamus raised an eyebrow. "Corvus? So you have been speaking with him." he said, his suspicions confirmed. Tosten "... Why did Corvus teach you it?" Tosten piped up faintly, ignoring the obvious answer one would expect for the question. Sunil Sunil tried to dodge Tosten's question. "I've only spoken to Corvus once actually. I've been having trouble with my magic and he helped me out." Seamus Seamus guessed that she wasn't telling everything, but had just made peace and so decided not to call her bluff. "I wish I had that kind of help. I've been learning it on my own." Tosten The lack of reply caused his gaze to lift again, peering at Sunil's face mutely as though he were still expecting an answer as he was sure she had heard him. Sunil Sunil shrugged. "I wouldn't reccomend asking Corvus for help. He told me he thinks we're a blight on the face of the earth. I could tell you what he told me, but I don't trust you enough yet." Seamus Seamus nodded. "I wouldn't trust me either. Maybe I'll just ask Proto's new Saeris. His magic isn't like Feien magic, but he might be helpful..." Sunil "Not a bad idea." Sunil looked at Tosten and Seamus. "I think I'm gonna go home and sleep this off. See ya around." She waved at them and then hopped up into the air. A little unsure, she started in what she hoped was the right direction.

After the fight. Today has been a long and interesting day. I basically learned I'm not as strong as I thought when it comes to hurting people. First, I ran into Ares in the store and we talked about... well nothing in particular really although I apologized for making her think I was going to attack her. I'm not sure why, but somehow I felt like I should. Second, I met with Seamus and I beat some sense into him. I dont feel as good about the thing as I had hoped I would. He barely admitted my superiority after I hit him multiple times. I think I could have killed him at one point, but Tosten showed up and ruined the whole thing. Tosten is so like a child to me. I feel awful making him upset. I suppose if I ever want to take over though I had better learn how to deal with that sort of thing. I'm exhausted, but I managed to perform my punch Corvus showed me how to do. All in all, I suppose the day went well. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings.~Sunil

The day after. I went to the shop today. Kam was gone for most of the day at work, so I had an easy time slipping out. I think I was supposed to stay in, but Kam wasn't explicit about it. When I got to the shop it was a circus. Seamus had collapsed, Aria had a nervous breakdown, and I offered to let Ares hit me, but she hugged me instead. I think she knew after our meeting yesterday that Seamus might end up a little banged up. Seamus eventually woke up, Tosten wouldn't hug me, and Aria decided she would be special by singing. Things were much calmer here at home before I went into the shop. Kam gave me a bunch of books to read about some place called Valdemar and some girl named Talia. They're not bad and I do like reading about magic. It is however, tiring to stand on the book in order to read it. It is hard to keep it open otherwise. If I'm to read more, I'm going to need a solution to that problem.~Sunil
