I am the stone that the builder refused
I am the visual, the inspiration
That made Lady Sing the Blues...

I'm the spark that makes your idea bright
The same spark that lights the dark
So that you can know your left from your right...

I am the ballot in the box, the bullet in the gun
The innerglow that lets you know
To call your brother sun...

The story that just begun
The promise of what's to come
And I'm a remain a soldier 'til the war is won

I like it so much I memorized the theme song.

They canceled the Martin Luther King one. Civil rights leaders got mad. They talked about it in one of their comics.

[McGruder is taking a hiatus at the end of this month... sad

They say the last new comic will be 03/26...which especially sucks because that appears to be a Sunday. I don't recall ever seeing The Boondocks in the Sunday edition of my local paper. confused
(But that doesn't mean it's not online.)

In my newspaper, they are going to "replace" The Boondocks with something else "until The Boondocks returns in Ocotober."

...I wouldn't be surprised if this was just the excuse they needed to get rid of the comic altogether. confused ]

[Yes, but it's controversial...so there's also a large amount of people who would like to see it removed, I'm sure, especially in my town, where the mayor is currently fighting a winning battle against a strip club that was opened out by our mall. rolleyes He wants it shut down.

The Boondocks might not stand a chance. gonk ]

well i think a comic strip in a newspaper and a strip club are kinda different playing fields but i see what your saying....but think about it, alot of contreversial things have been allowed to continue, heck half of the stuff on Adult Swim says some pretty contreversial stuff....and im not even gonna talk about HBO

[Sho'-you-right, Ronin, they are different things, but thanks for seeing my point of view. 3nodding And you're right, many controversial things have withstood the test of time. wink Hopefully The Boondocks will persevere. biggrin ]

The boondocks will not make it through all the people who would argue to keep it in the papers are mad about the Martin Luther King thing. The boondocks might take a dive.
