Rylia felt a little nervous yet somewhat relieved as she stood around the other two. Even around them, the silence and strange feeling the village gave her still made her feel uneasy. Nothing truly and fully worked, but having others around her made her feel better despite usually keeping to herself. Perhaps this experience would help her try to get along with others in the future...if she got out of this place of course.

She blinked when Harou looked at her and blinked and then looked back towards Aeos. She wondered what their names were. Maybe they didn't want to tell her, but by looking at Aeo's expression, she thought that maybe he wanted to look around. She wondered if he would speak. If not, it was okay. For some reason, whenever he purred, she felt a little safer then she did before. Looking over in one direction, she quickly ran over to a small spot where there was a patch of grass. It didn't look green though, discolored rather. She wondered why and looked back at them.

"But seriously, there's no one around, Have--" Avantea stopped mid-sentence, staring at Haveni. What could affect her so, something that only she heard and felt?
There seemed to be nothing there!

She turned, then, to look to the direction Haveni was pointing. Indeed, the roots had grown in a weird, circular shape there...

As she followed her companion, she inspected the large stone door. It looked old, very old. It might have dated back to the times of the story they'd been listening to earlier..
Not that it was likely, but it was still a possibility, right?

"There's someone.. in here?" she finally asked Haveni, her voice full of disbelief. "This looks like it's been sealed for god knows how long! How could there be anyone inside?"

Tilting his head questioningly, Harou began to understand. This one either couldn't, or wouldn't, talk. It was more likely to be the first, as no one would willingly keep silent in this predicament. There were too many questions and no answers. Aside from that, he wasn't even sure what that thing was they were supposed to be searching for.

He shrugged a shoulder in an attempt to dismiss his concerns. This was supposed to be for fun, right? It would be fine.

"I am Harou," he began, reaching up absently to massage his throat as he spoke. It was beginning to feel dry, agitated. "I will follow you --" He was cut off from finishing that thought when the twilif bounded toward a patch of grass, looking back at them expectantly. Hesitating, he crossed over to where she was to look as well.

"Grey."

Girisha watched his friend go, worried. He tried to stay as close to him as he could, but not reveal themselves. As Kliment watched the woman run to the door Girisha got a really bad feeling and his marking began to glow. "Bad. Bad place. Very bad." He wanted to back away, but he didnt want to leave his friend alone.

Girisha didnt like the look of the door that the two women were near. He got a really bad feeling from it. He didnt want to go near but he wanted to stop the women.

He stepped forward, past Kliment. At first he was hesitant, but then he became more confident. He stayed as far as he could from the women but raised his voice so they could hear. "Bad. Bad place for everyone." His markings were pulsing with light and his eyes showed fear.

"I just ...nnnghhhh!" Haveni gave a shove against the door. It groaned as it began to slide open. "...knooow!" Finally it was open enough for them to go in. Indeed, cobwebs lined the place, and the smell was that of ancient dust. Normally, a place like this would send Haveni reeling at the thought of collecting new ingredients for her candles, but now, something strange was in her thoughts.

The darkness inside was almost thick enough to cut, but with it, there were strange, soft sounds, that would be corporeal for any to hear. They were soft, weeping noises, coming from down below, deep down in that dark.

"I told you!" she clutched at the wall, feeling around in the darkness, trying to get to those weeping noises. She couldn't explain it, really. It was a need so fierce she had no control, even of her own body. The deeper she went, the louder the noises became, until she reached the bottom.

Crunch.

Looking down, she peered through what vague light there was from the door, until she made out the form of whatever she had stepped on - it was the femur bone of what remained of...a being like them. The way the corpse's remnants lay seemed like he died a gruesome way - as if he were trying desperately to escape. Haveni shuddered, taking a step around the skeleton, her cheek bumping into a chain whcih dangled from above.

"The crying...I don't hear it anymore."

Rhyme had gotten to a late start. She did not want to follow the noisy crowd, gone a different direction instead. just because a heart had flown a certain way did not mean it was to stay in that direction. Certainly, they had to be far craftier than that.

Rhyme had gone into another isolated section of the forest now, clutching her harp nervously, the occasional sound of a string did not even relax her now. Her red eyes peered everywhere, body tensed in nervousness. Perhaps taking an unknown direction was not a good idea. She couldn't hear any sounds of any other twilif of constellation in this area. Even the animals did not dare make a sound. Or was it, that there wasn't any animals here to make a sound?

She tried to calm herself, a nervous scream would be unsightly and Rhyme knew far better than to be spooked by silence. But she reflected, it wasnt just silence. It was the dead roots, rocks and the lack of life in the area that spooked her.

The storyteller felt chills run down her spine as she entered the cave after the candle maker, trying her best to see something in the darkness. The faint glow of their auras didn't make that much of a difference, and Avantea had to hold one hand to the wall as well to find her way.

"I've never heard of this place before.." she said in a low tone, "and I thought I knew everything about the village and its surroundings.."

As she looked down at the ancient, deteriorating corpse on the floor, she couldn't help but shriek. Looking around, she spotted a few others around, and there could have been even more but the darkness made it impossible to see far enough.

"Y-you don't hear it anymore?" she laughed then, her voice shrill. "I-I told you you were imagining it.. C-come on, Haveni, l-let's get out of here.."

He tilted his head, following after Rylia and Harou after a moment. Aeos could still feel the stares around them, and it was rather disconcerting. The Constellation blinked at the patch of discoloration in the grass, mouth curving into a frown. Normally, as grass died, it would turn yellow… what was this?

The ominous feeling in his gut was warning him of something. This… just seemed to intensify it. He shuddered lightly again, fists tightening at his side before relaxing them. Nothing yet had happened, at least, not that he could tell at the moment. But, something would…

But, what?

Another purr rumbled forth, unconsciously drawing out a rather concerned note. He frowned when he noticed it, shaking his head lightly as he looked around the village once more to be sure.

The Phyri's teeth tore at the gummy-sweet sesame bun. Tenar had eaten so many festival pastries that he felt a good forest hike was in order, so he decided to participate in the treasure hunt, just for the sake of doing something. He mindlessly chewed and squinted his eyes to survey the heavily forested area before he advanced any further. He took another step as he rubbed his thumb hard against the trunk of a tree. He had done this periodically, marking trees with ash smudges so that he could find his way back.

Everyone had already advanced much further than he had, but he decided to push on anyway. His ears picked up the faint muffled voices and rustling of grass of the other festival patrons in the distance, but he could not see them.

This area has already been thoroughly search -- no use in being careful now.

He upped his pace and galloped further into the forest, swallowing the last morsel of his sweet.

Kliment wasted no time coming back to Girisha's side, staring ahead as the women descended into the darkness. Looking to his companion, he began to walk toward the door, despite his previous warnings.

"Let's go inside, Girisha," he called, stopping in his tracks when he heard a shriek. His blood ran cold, and without another moment's hesitation he called, "Come, Girisha!" and hurried down the door, into the darkness to find the source.

Azra`iel wandered alone. It was not an uncommon occurrence and so did not particularly phase him. Nor did the dead forest. The lack of ambient sound did tend to get unnerving after a while... and all he could hear was the crackles of breaking plants as he moved toward the center of the dead forest. He had missed the Nameless One's tale this year, but he had attended the festival many times before. This year, the spirit of the forest seemed more disturbed and he had lost himself in contemplation as to why. His weaving through the trees had brought him toward Yggdrasil and he figured on paying his respects to the tree before making his way to where the stage was being set for the later dancing---he did so enjoy the music.

Azra'iel stumbled slightly as he heard faint sounds of distress and his heart's vision wavered, causing him to hasten his approach toward the Tree.

There was a muffled shriek a distance away from her. Muffled by .. walls? There were only trees, rocks and remains of leaves around her. But oh my. Those were certainly.. large rocks in the distance. There was also something unsettling in the air, as if concentrated over there. It was almost if if colors had faded even more so in the distant area, even though the forest held little color.

Rhyme wasn't sure to head there at all or not, her curiousity a fault, leading her there step by step, very small steps. Was.. an event occurring there?

Rylia wondered why the vegetation around them was discolored, gray rather. She looked at Harou as he came over, a little surprised, but smiled small. It was a small feeling, but she was afraid that maybe they would be afraid of her colors, being a purple and black twilef. After all, those colors...together symbolized certain things didn't they? However, it seemed like it didn't matter to them and as long as it didn't, she tried her best to act 'normal'.

She had caught the phyri's name, feeling apologetic since she had ran over to the area she was in while he had introduced himself. She looked back as Aeo's came by and looked as well, frowning somewhat at his reaction. She wondered what he was thinking, standing up. She looked out into the forest, wondering if maybe something had happened, but shook her head as she looked back towards the village after Aeo's did. She blinked as she looked at the village from where she was standing and then looked up at Aeo's, wondering what they should do.

Girisha was sad when the women didnt hear him and his warning. He clinged to Kliment when he came to his side. But when his friend went closer to the door he became afraid. Then they heard the scream and his friend descended into the depths after the door.

Girisha was afraid but stayed for only a second before running after his friend into the dark depths. He could barely see as he followed and when he got to the bottom he saw his friend and the two women, and numbers of bones. Girisha ran to his friend and clinged to him, shutting his eyes tightly and whispering "Said it was bad. Very bad." Girisha was very afraid of being down in the darkness here.

Deciding they had been standing around long enough, Harou gestured toward the rest of the village with his arms, as Aeos had done before, clicking his tongue loudly. The longer it took them to find the 'gems', the longer he would have to wait to return to the lake. He hadn't anticipated being out long today, although he did feel badly for being impatient.

Bowing his head a bit, he gave himself a moment before attempting speech again.

"We should not stand here. I feel it," he brought a hand to the back of his neck, gently pressing on a fin. "Something bad. We should go."
