Back to what, we were doing. I don't remember what it was but i'm sure it was good. Lets talk about the combat or weapons? I think weapons might be a good idea. Types of weapons we remember sword, bow, staff, spear, fist.... No idea

T1 is sometimes referred to as true combat meaning that your actions are described and the defenders decides if damaged recieved as well as whether or not the action is successful. On forums we must use TB combat the terms have changed since i've been on roleplay site over the years so many will hear them called different things.
For example
Hal drew his long sword and readied himself as he gripped the hilt with both hands tightly, he charged Roland quickly raising the blade up high and bringing it down with great force when he came within striking distance of his enemy.
Roland seeing Hal draw his sword drew short sword with his right hand and readied his shield arm in response.Roland stepping back about a two feet prepared himself for the blow as he raised his shield to meet the longswords blade.
Hal grinnged and pulled his longsword away taking a step back he turn quickly spinning around clockwise as he swung his sword with greater force thanks to the fast spin striking at Roland once more.
Roland surprised by Hals spin braced himself as he saw the sword coming towards him, he knew it would be hard to stop with his own sword so he used his shield once more to take the force of the impact knocking him back a little.
Hal was pleased by Rolands ability to block the strike and laughed cheerfully as he gripped his sword with both hands in front of himself "NOW BOY It's YOUR TURN" He laughed as he watched Roland carefully.
Roland was hard and heavy the impact had knocked the air out of him. He knew that his sword would not be able to touch Hal but he had a shield and that would be enough to knock him back abit. Roland smiled at the old man as he gripped his sword tight in his hand lunged forward using his shield as a ram.
Hal confused by Rolands actions quickly readied himself and used his large left side to push up against the shield as he dropped his sword and grabbed it with both hands jerking it to the right using Rolands force against him.
Roland dropped his blade and stumbled as he felt his shield and arm being pulled he tripped and fell to the ground confused as he noticed his shield was no longer on his arm and his sword was stuck in a tree.
Hal smiled and tossed the shield aside "good try boy" He joked as he reached out for Rolands hand to help him up.

I found this on a site somewhere so it thought it would be good to post although i closed the window before i got the link so who knows where it came from
Fighting Styles
Over the years, fighting in AOL role play has changed and evolved. Dice, once the only way to properly battle, have become archaic to many role players, and SiM, the quick dice-less alternative too is dying down in popularity. Turn-Based battle, or TB, is emerging as the most widely accepted form of battling. However, during your experiences, you will most likely encounter all three forms of fighting styles, and thus should at least know the basics of each one.
Dice- As long as there are dice-based guilds and forums on AOL, dice battling will exist. The major advantage of dice over the other battle systems is the ability to easily calculate damage. One cannot dispute how much damage was done, the dice values are indisputable. However, how one gains his or her dice has been questions. Fake guilds and forums handing out high dice was one of the reasons for the Anti-Dice and Anti-Guild/Forum movements a few years back. Another complaint of dice play is the bad roll, when an easy attack is missed because of a bad roll of the dice. These reasons, along with the interchanging of dice and description, have resulted in the progression to dice-less systems.
SiM- Simulation battle is popular amongst players who role play Dragon Ball Z and Star Wars, realms where quick battles are common. Speed is synonymous with SiM, your ability to type quickly and without hesitation is necessary for this fast-paced form of battle. Description is preferred, but speed often comes first. The main compliant is the speed issue. Not all role players can type at an excess of 100 words per minute, let alone block or form complete actions at that speed. While SiM appears to be a free-for-all, fastest typist wins, there are a few standard rules, such as the necessity for separate posts for all actions, from drawing a gun to aiming to firing. Check with your opponent first to lie down all rules before-hand.
TB- As the name suggests, Turn-Based fighting is when each player is given the opportunity to complete a post before the opponent responds. Unlike SiM, speed is not an issue, and there is no cutting off another person’s attack. Players are able to write lengthy descriptive posts, which is favourable to some role players, and annoying to others. Persons unable to spend long periods of time for one battle may find turn-based more of a nuisance than a joy.
What system is best for you? Well, if you desire certainty and constraints, the dice system would be right for you, especially if you are involved with a guild or forum. If you are willing to drop definite answers and are good with description and excellent with speed, then SiMing is the way to go. If you want fighting to be like you are normally role playing and enjoy description especially, then turn-based battle would be best. Find persons from that fight in the various styles and play with them, learning all the additional rules. Experiment with each system, and then make a decision. Being well versed in all systems and having a preference is most ideal.

Hal smiled softly and nodded slowly " something like that " As he drew his long sword with his right hand and gripped it tight with both hands infront of himself, His feet spread slight to shoulder length distance as he lowerd his frame slightly giving him a better vantage point.
" would you like to block first or strike first " He mocked the young woman as he winked at her

Hal grinned and nodded to the young woman as he tilted his sword to the right and let the light glimmer and sparkle on the blade. "as you wish" He winked as he took a step back and lifted his long sword high then moved in close and brought down the sword at her left side.
