Hal smiled a little wider, and asked Sapphire, "Now, just so I know what I'm getting myself into, plus I just couldn't help but notice the costume, are you a hero? The costume gives away that you're a Super-type, is all..."
The Joker started off, taking Gossamer with him, towards the stairs. "Let's see what they've got on the next floor up, yes?"

"It is a little hard to miss." Sapphire said with a small smile. "Yes, I'm a hero. And you?"
"Sure. Bound to find something worth our while." she replied, then grinned a bit. "If not, I suppose we'll just have to make our own fun."
Rosie's eyes widened a bit and she smiled up at her. "Really? That's so cool! Does really loud noises hurt your ears? Can you hear like a dog for like, miles away?"

Hal replied with a grin, "Ah, good. Yeah, me, too. Member of the Green Lantern Corps. Think of something along the lines of interplanetary police, and you'll get the general idea. Other than that, I'm just a guy with the most fun job in the world." A somewhat distant look came into his eyes as he thought about flying. He was still listening, though.
The Joker laughed quietly. "Hahahahahaha... Now I kind of HOPE there's nothing going on upstairs..." The pair reached the bottom step of the staircase, and began the climb.

”Interplanetary Police? Well that definitely beats my job.” Sapphire said with a small grin. ”Do you get to fly spaceships or anything?” she asked, actually a bit interested.
Gossamer smiled a bit and followed Joker up the stairs. She thought for a moment, then her smile turned into a small smirk. Now that she thought about it, she’d better put that little mental fire wall up now before anything happened. She didn’t want Jade annoying her again

Hal chuckled a little bit, and said, "No, although that's actually closer to what I do when I'm not busy with the Corps." He held up his right hand so that Sapphire could see the green Power Ring easily, the emblem of the Green Lantern Corps reflecting the lighting. "You don't need ships or spacesuits or guns when you have this with you. This is all the weapon I need."
Joker led Gossamer up to the second floor, and saw that it was a lounge area, filled with seats and some refreshments, mostly coffee, water, and some snacks. There seemed to be a partition running about a third of the way down the middle, separating the smoking area from the non-smoking area. "Hmmm..." thought the clown out loud, "Okay, so if I happen to want to shoot somebody, do I have to go to the smoking section in case the gun barrel smokes up a little?"

Supergirl shrugged. "It depends on the noise, I guess. Nothing can really damage my hearing, if that's what you're asking."
Terry was sitting on a chair in the nonsmoking section, reading a copy of Scientific American magazine with a strand of DNA on the cover. A cup of coffee was sitting beside him. As the pair entered, he brought the magazine up to cover everything but his pointed 'ears', but otherwise ignored them.

"Really? What does it do?" Sapphire asked, looking at the ring.
Gossamer smiled at his comment and glanced down at the partition. "Well, if you wanted to shoot someone...I don't think anyone would care too much about the smoke."
She glanced over, noticing someone else in the room. Well, at least a pair of ears sticking out from behind a magazine.
"That's really cool." Rosie said with a smile. "Do you have any other powers?" she asked, taking another cookie to munch on.

Hal smiled, and said, "Anything you can imagine. Pretty much literally. It's a Power Ring. It feeds off of Emerald energy gained from a Power Battery. It needs to be recharged every 24 hours, and it has a problem with the color yellow. It has no effect on that color, because it's impure. How it works is simple to explain, but difficult for many to do. It works by the wielder focusing on whatever they wish, and then channelling their will into the ring, essentially asking it to give your thoughts form. If the wielder's willpower is strong enough, the Ring will construct whatever you were thinking about out of green hard light. So for instance..." An emerald light shot out of the ring into Sapphire's hand, and a rose, made out of solid green light, materialized. "...As a quick example. Maybe later on I'll get you the real deal." Hal then winked at Sapphire. "It's still not quite as much fun as my day job, though."
Joker followed Gossamer's gaze and spotted the ears as well. "Hey! Batsy cosplayer!" Joker yelled at Terry, "No need to hide! We're just here to have some fun! Isn't that right, Mist?" Joker switched to using Gossamer's criminal name, as he didn't know if the man knew Gossamer's name, and he wasn't about to give away that information.

Sapphire blushed slightly as she looked down at the rose in her hand, then back up at Hal. "So, um, what do you do as a day job?" she asked.

"Fun's downstairs, kids," came the somewhat absent reply. He flipped a page and took a sip of coffee. This was going to be a horrible excuse for a party. He could tell. He would have had more fun staying in the Batcave and polishing Ace's collar. Or, god forbid, going to an actual party with his girlfriend. But no. Ooooh, no.
Kara grinned. "Well, the short answer to that's 'yes'."

As the green rose disappeared as noiselessly as it formed, Hal said with no small amount of pride, "I'm a test pilot for fighter jets."
"Oh, come on, fake Batsy," Joker cajoled, "Surely you're capable of having more fun than the real Batsy! I mean, sure he makes for a great co-star, but all he does is dramatic production! Besides, you shouldn't be calling us 'kids'. Judging from your build, I'd put you in high school. Kid."

((Oh, come on. Terry's not Ultimate Spider-man; he could be an adult. He has a more slender build than the original. I will grant you that.))
There was no response, aside from another page turn. Terry honestly hadn't heard most of what the clown had been saying; he'd been daydreaming about the date he could have been having with Dana right about then. And why wasn't he? Nothing was stopping him! He could just walk right out and... Wayne would kill him with his bare hands. Ooookay.

(( Yeah, but Joker's a rather tall person, and Terry IS just a little smaller than Bruce. He WOULD make a joke like that, regardless. Anyways, I'm going to wait for Gossamer to respond; we don't want to leave her in the dust... ))

Gossamer smiled slightly. "Perhaps he just doesn't work out." she replied. She waited a moment, but the bat seemed to be ignoring them. She smirked a bit, then turned back to Joker. "Perhaps we should just move over to the smoking section." she said with a wink.
"So you get to fly around for fun and get paid for it?" Sapphire said with a small grin. Hm, she was starting to wish she hadn't worn her costume. He probably couldn't tell when she smiled.
Rosie's smile grew. "Like what? Do you have a lot of them? I can only do a few things. They're not really that special though."
