Dracorex Titan Well, I'd gladly escort members around to help them get stronger, but at this time, my game time is realy short due to work. There's hardly anyone on in the morning and I work at night. I will do whay I can, but it will probably be very little. And if the contests are not over by tonight, I'll be entering some. 3nodding I work nights... :3

sorry guys due to the fact I have been busting my a** all day painting I havent had time and no more energy to start the contest.
Hopefully tomorrow. HOWEVER!!!
I want to hear more feedback.
I see half of our active's discussing this, where are the rest?
If I have to the contest will start at latest next week.

Well, I know that there is concern about making these accessible to lower-CL players, but...these all have loots from Otami and beyond...

Here's an idea. What if the person that "wins" an item be the next to offer up the next prize? Kind of a way to keep it going and thus preventing users from a dash and grab sort of thing. In simple terms, you win something, you put up the next prize.

Hrm. I likey the idea draco......
another funny idea would be to have an item as a trophy of sorts.(like the katana) and when said person is dethroned they must give it to next person.
but what happens if that person will not give forth the item?

I just really wonder how functional this will be, I mean, with an entry fee, just two people could enter and one would win and the looser might just decide to keep the loot he gathered. It seems flawed, unless we come up with some sort of "grand prize" or a lotto system i don't think a first come first serve would work all that well.
What if we were to do it ticket based? each ticket would cost some loot and some gold,
like 10g, 5 bio chips and 5 faux skin might get you 2 tickets
and for lower cl people, they just go for the easier tickets, like 10 copper and 20g for one ticket.
then each ticket earned would be organized by order received, so with each trade to the cult mule, tickets would be ordered from earliest received to last received with a cut off date or something.

The way I took the way Xzeph has it set up is that there is the 1K entree fee and then the first to collect the loot and submit it gets the prize. If any others entered, the entree fee is not returned and no further loot is accepted for that contests. Now if it were me and I went through all that and didn't win but didn't need the loot for myself, then yes I would "donate" the unwanted loot. But not everyone is like me I supose. As far as the Lotto system, I believe that's what DW was thinking of working on for the MC letters. Or am I wrong about that?

As for the recipe contest, I am thinking you can't win more than once. So whatever you go for, that is it. That way one person can sweep the board and be done. It is flawed still but there really isn't a way to do this and not give older players an advantage without cutting them out entirely. Also, most of the higher end players are people I trust and I doubt they really have that much trouble getting the items up for contest anyway.
I don't like the idea of a timeshare prize, it defeats the point of trying if you are just going to give it up anyway.

I was giving away three letters a month and even did it as a lottery for the top three and it hasn't done s**t. No, if people want the damn letter, they can do the damn work.
The person who does the most work gets the letter, period. The letter is a month long contest, each month. It keeps going and what you donated last month doesn't count for the next month.
So if you want the letter for that month, the work has to be put in before the letter opens because I close the contest as soon as I see the letter open.
As for the recipe contest, if we want a lottery, I will consider bringing in the loot as the entry fee instead of a good based entry fee. Then we just set a date that is a month away to give other people time and baam. Not that hard to do.
