"A logical idea," Spock said before walking out of his room and leading off. "If you will just follow me." ~ ~ ~ ~

At that moment Chekov chimed in over the intercom closest to the Captain, "Keptin Kirk, come in keptin. We are approaching Starbase nine. We need your permission to dock and your confirmation for the Starbase dat the ship is secure. Are you there, keptin?"
When Nurse Chapel heard the all-call she was in the middle of shelving the Y's in the now alphabetized chemicals, "Already?" She expected to have at least a bit more time there. She had already been packed up - not that there was too much to take - and had said goodbye to a few more of her crewmates. She finished shleving the last six bottles and placed the electronic clipboard down on one of the beds for the doctor and the new nurse. Saying goodbye to the Enterp[rise and her crew would be difficult, but Christine could smile knowing that she was in for a new and probably equally as exciting trip.

Sarek gave his wife a half-nod and replied by informing Amanda that she was his wife. he then turned to captain Kirk. "Of course." Once again the plans had changed, but Sarek was flexible, you had to be to be any sort of political figure. He followed the captain, with Amanda by his side, back to the ship's bridge.

"No need to apologize, Captain," Sarek began, "it is only logical that being the captain of a Starfleet vessel would be a demanding and stressful job. Simply walk Captain, we will follow."

"Yessir! I'll let Mr. Sulu know!" Chekov chirped back before turning to Sulu and nodding, "We're clear for docking Mr. Sulu!" Though he took his job seriously, Chekov had to wonder aloud, "Anyone think we will get a moment of shore leave while we are here? We could all sue a break about now. . ." He turned back to Lieutenant Uhura, "Leitenant Uhura, can you make sure they know we're coming? And you might want to let the nurse know while you're at it."
"No need Mr. Chekov, she's here." Nurse Chapel had just entered to say her final goodbyes. Her bag was slung over her shoulder and she wore a small smile for her friends on the bridge, "Mr. Scott's going to beam me down as soon as we dock, the transporter room's already had a call in that their new nurse is ready to beam aboard!" She approached the front panel and gave small hugs to both Mr. Sulu and Mr. Chekov a few more around the bridge and finally got to Uhura again, "I'm going to miss you, Lieutenant."

((OH I KNOW, I KNOW, PICK ME, PICK ME! -waves hand around-))
Spock dad as he was asked to do. He would follow thr captain back to the bridge and help with what ever he could. Maybe Uhura needed some sort of help, he knew she wouldn't but it was a small excuse to get close to her. The humasn were really starting to rub off him, he thought to himself. The sad thing was, he didn't really mind.
Amanda looked back to see Spock rather lagging, she could tell he was rather deep in thought. So slowing down herself, she let Spock cathch up. "Keep up love." Amanda slid her hand into his, and when he didnn't make a move to protest, pulled him along so she could return to Sarek's side. ~ ~ ~ ~
Uhura called in to strar base and inform them they were clear to dock. She was just about to page Chapel, but she stoped, and turned with teary eyes. "Oh I am going to miss you!" She stood and walked over to give her friend a hug. "You have to keep in touch, let us all know how your trip and adventuers are going."

Nurse Chapel smiled, "And you be sure to do the same, alright?" She looked up as she was paged to report to the Transporter Room, "Well that's my ride." She winked at Leiutenant Uhura, "Take care, darling." On the way to teh Transporter Room, she passed the Captain and the small party he was walking with, "G'bye captain! Goodbye Mr. Spock." She nodded and entered the room where Scotty was waiting by the door.
"You sure they have to do this, Nurse? Ya can't fight the system?" Scotty offered a friendly last-minute suggestion as well as a goodbye hug.
Nurse Chapel just smiled at him, "I'll miss you too, Mr. Scott." She gave her final hug to him and stepped onto the transporter pad with a smile. Everything would be alright, she just hoped the doctor would get a nurse who was good at what she did.
---
Being an Orion woman had it's ups and downs. Sure some humans still stared at you for the color of your skin but- ah who cares, you get to turn heads. ". . . so of course they put me on the Enterprise, the ship that Jim Kirk is commanding." the woman stood in the women's bathroom fixing her make-up and chatting with an accquaintance.
"The best way to get 'em back is to still be hot after all this time." The other woman was good at cheering up a woman in need, "I think they're calling you, you'd better run, Gaila."
"s**t, you're right! Thanks love!" Gaila kissed the woman on the cheek and ran out snatching up her duffel bag on the way over to the Transporter. She lept on the pad and began smoothing out her skirt just as the Enterprise's old nurse came walking off the pad. He pushed up her red curls a few times, tossed them around her shoulders and tugged at the sleeves of her new blue starfleet uniform. As short as it was, Gaila could admire it, because she rocked it and she had the legs for it.
The man at the controls announced the transporters activation and the next thing that Gaila saw was the inside of the Enterprise's transporter and her chief engineer offering out a hand like a gentleman. Boy she was liking theis ship already. She stepped off and flashed the man a smile, "Would you mind very much escorting me to Sick Bay?"
Scotty simply shook his head and walked toward the door, "This way, Lass." He brought her all the way to Sick Bay where the doors opened automatically and gestured for her to enter.
"Thank you Mr. Scott," Gaila smiled once more. She had done her research enough to at least recognize the crew by their accents. She entered Sick Bay and the first thing she noticed were that all of the beds were empty. This would be an easy job. She glanced around a few more times before she realized the room was empty. She put her fists onto her hips and let out a little "Hmph." What a welcoming party she had. Oh well, it was time to go surprise her old roommate. SHe tossed her duffel bag under the desk so it was out of the way and walked out. Navigating this ship probably wouldn't be very easy. She walked around, recieving more than a few stares - just like she predicted she was the only green woman crewmember - until she found the elevator. She stepped in, grabbed the handle and announced, "Bridge." When she arrived she stepped out looking around, "alright one of these faces had to be familiar. Finally, she saw Nyota Uhura. Her old roommate from the academy, "Well, well, well, Lieutenant Nyota Uhura!"

Uhura was sitting down when she heard that oh so familur voice. SLowly she truned around, and just as she thought. She saw her long time friend, and room mate. "Gaila!?" Uhura stood up and ran over t the green skined friend, and imidatly gave her a hug. "Oh my spacships, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here to kick Jim Kirk's a**." She said with a nod and kept a serious face for a moment until she laughed and opted to tell the truth, "No I'm kidding, I'm the new nurse! Unfortunately there's not even a doctor in sick bay right now, so I thought I'd come find you, I missed you so much!" Gaila hugged the woman once more. Then, quietly, she muttered over, "So how're, ya know, you and Spock?"

Uhura giggled. "Thats great, I'm sad to see Chapel go, but glad to gain you!" Uhura thought it odd, why wasn't McCoy in the sick bay. "I can't belive you remember that!" Uhura looked to the two men in the room. "Chekov I'm going to show the new nurse aroudn, will you please take over for me?" Uhura droped her voice to a whisper. "Lets go to my room and talk about that."
