Mir thought about what Demi had said. She was glad that her pupil wasn’t giving herself over to anger and revenge. It would be easier to motivate the little kit in her current state then in another, but Mir would have to do it gently so that Demi didn’t overexert herself. In the back of her mind, Mir made a note to see that Demi made it home safely when they ended their training sessions, and to ask what these toms looked like once the kit had calmed down. “So you would like to get stronger, so you can prevent this from happening again?” She asked quietly, looking at the little kit gently, but at the same time not downplaying the seriousness of the conversation.

Demi simply nodded in response to her mentor's inquiry. At this point, getting stronger and learning how to properly fight was no longer an option; not when she was still a homeless cat who wandered where she pleased. In an effort to pull herself out of her current emotional state, the little Bobtail straightened and stared up at Mirelle. "I still want to learn everything you're willing to teach me, Mir-sensei! Only..." She paused a moment, remembering the pole she used before to repel the tom, "I think I want a long weapon, something that will give me distance from my opponent and still allow me to do some good damage..." The young girl wasn't very well versed in weaponry, but she knew she didn't want to be fighting in close to her opponents any longer.

Mir nodded, thinking. “We can worry about getting you a suitable teacher when the time comes. Right now I’ll teach you everything I know about Parkour, and I’ll do what I can to keep you safe. If you want to fight from a longer range, having the freedom of movement will be even more important. But the order for today is for you to rest and recover. As I said before, proper movement avoids injury in the short and long term. Exercising now will only make things worse for you.” Mir smiled gently. “But now I’m just repeating myself. Have you had anything to eat?”

A little dissapointed that Mirelle wouldn't allow her to throw herself into training right away, Demi frowned a bit and mewed softly. "I haven't eaten since last night when we split up." She didn't feel hungry even as she said that; her stomach felt strangely still. She didn't understand why she couldn't start training right away, but she trusted her mentor's judgment and lowered her ears a little.

Mir saw a little disappointment in her pupil’s eyes and guessed it was because they wouldn’t be training right away. She smiled softly. Looking down at the little kit, Mir relented a little. The part of her that felt like an older sister understood where Demi was coming from, as well as the drive to start fixing the situation right away. “If I promise to train you today.” Mir said quietly, still smiling gently. “It is with the understanding that you are to take things slow until you have recovered. No throwing yourself at things with reckless abandon. Can you live with that?”

Demi lifted her ears slowly to catch what the older cat was saying, and her bronze-colored eyes followed suit, rising up to meet Mirelle's. She understood and smiled in response. Just hearing the Singapura relent to training her made her feel a little better. "I'll be careful, Mir-sensei!" The bobtail kit mewed softly, with a nod, "Thank you!" The muscles in her legs twitched with the anticipation of training. They were still stiff and sore from the previous night, but Demi was eager to put it behind her.

Mir nodded and got up, rolling her shoulders and smiling down at Demi. “Good. We’ll start off easy, and we’re going to be doing this every time we have training; we’ll start off with a general preparation, like we did yesterday; mental preparation, a light jog, stretching. Then we’ll move into the lesson for the day.” Mir bounced slightly, waking her body up. “First, let’s get you some food. I won’t have you training on an empty stomach.” She grinned slightly at Demi, the teacher in her waking up and planning for the rest of the day.

Demi nodded in response; it was reasonable. "I understand, Mir-sensei!" She mewed, the weariness quickly escaping her at the thought of training again. She wouldn't let herself be beaten so easily again. "Where did you have in mind for food? I like seafood!" She still looked completely worn out, but was beginning to perk up a bit. As if agreeing with the plans, her stomach suddenly rumbled to life. Blinking down at it for a second, the bobtail giggled sheepishly back at the Singapura.

Mir chuckled at Demi's stomach, glad that the rather unhappy feelings seemed to be dissipating at last. “The market place is always a good place to go. We can easily get some seafood there.” Mir winked at her pupil. “Come on.” She motioned to Demi. “Let’s wake up those muscles.” Mir waited for Demi to rise, glad that Demi’s decollared life was beginning the way it was. Any anger or fear that the bobtail was feeling was hopefully being over taken by the desire to get stronger; the determination not to let anything like what had happened occur again. Mir smiled a little grimly to herself.

Getting to her paws again was easier said than done. As the bobtail tried to rise, her legs disagreed and protested stiffly. Wincing to herself as she straightened and locked her knees, the small cat raised her arms above her head and stretched carefully. "Sounds great, Mir-sensei, just give me a moment before we take off." She mewed with a voice strained by pain. Demi slowly moved down to reach for her toes; her calves screamed in response. She went through a few more exercises to loosen up her already tired leg muscles, and finished by jogging a few paces in place. Her face twinged a bit as her limbs continued to smart again.
"Well, let's start slow after all..." She relented finally, her shoulders sagging a bit in defeat as she smiled at the older female before her.

Mir watched Demi get up, taking in her cringes and slowed movement. Smiling back, she chuckled softly. “Smart girl.” Mir started off towards the marketplace, walking at a regular pace. She wondered who could teach Demi about long range fighting. Most cats she knew of carried a blade of some sort. Aidan might be a possibility, with those darts of his, but Mir wondered if that was what the bobtail was thinking of, and if not, then would Aidan be an appropriate teacher? The singapura shrugged internally, not too worried about finding Demi a second teacher right away.

Demi managed a chuckle as she marched along beside her mentor, beginning to grow excited about the prospect of food. It was painful at first, but eventually, the fluid motion began to ease into her leg muscles and moving became easier. The young girl flicked her ears as she realized this and tried to visualize the energy inside of her, seeing the red, painful energy of her legs beginning to give way to a healthier yellow. "Thank you Mir-sensei. I'm not sure what I would have done if you weren't here." the Bobtail mewed earnestly, eying the road ahead of them thoughtfully, "I'm starting to feel better, so we can pick up the pace a bit..."

Mir watched Demi carefully. At first she could see the pain in the young bobtail’s joints, how her breath was a little shorter than normal. But then Demi’s breathing began to regulate and become calmer and more at ease and her movements become more fluid. Mir smiled at her young pupil, glad that she was remembering to center herself, even through the pain she was feeling. “I’m glad I was able to help. I think my own life would have been a lot different if someone had helped me though my own decollaring.” Mir’s tone was a little somber, but she smiled slightly again, her calmer mood not troubled by the distant unhappy memories. Mir moved into a quicker trot, nothing too stressful. Moving into the market place, the sinapura angled towards the seafood, the various scents of the street filling her nostrils.

Demi could feel the pace of their run slowly picking up, and she smiled to herself, matching it easily. Listening to her mentor as she spoke, the small bobtail lifted her ears and glanced over to her, "Was that also an unpleasant time for you, Mir-sensei?" Realizing only after she asked that the older cat might not care to divulge such things to her student, Demi drew her ears back slightly. She didn't know much about the cat who had agreed to teach her, that was certain. It didn't come as much of a shock to her to hear that the strong, older female had had her own rough patches in life, though. They entered the marketplace, and delicious scents from various types of foods met her hungry nose. Demi looked excitedly to Mirelle and would have wagged her tail had she one to wag.

Mir nodded, her eyes looking forward as they ran. “It was indeed a difficult time for me, but I soon learned to live with the circumstances. I had to.” She replied, her voice the slightest bit flat as she answered her pupil. Her ears flattened a little. She felt a little rude for being rather short with Demi; Mir had spoken of her decollaring first, and Demi was only being curious in asking. Mir didn’t really want to tell the whole story now, but she felt that Demi deserved more of the truth than just a short, rather unhelpful statement. “I took off my own collar because I felt that I could not survive as who I was, and in exchange I became someone entirely different, and indeed different that I am now.” Mir turned her head towards the young bobtail, well, maybe not so young any more, and she smiled a little wistfully. “But it’s a story for another time, I’m afraid.”
Mir looked back in front of her and exhaled a little. She didn’t want to bog down Demi’s emotions or to stifle her enthusiasm with pity. She felt that right now was Demi’s moment to grow and that it would not be best for Mir to tell her story just yet. Perhaps Demi would instead be motivated by Mir’s story, knowing that you could come back from something so traumatic and move on with your life, but Mir wasn’t that sure yet. Moving almost automatically, the sinapura continued to run though the marketplace towards the seafood.
