”Oooh,” Raenef murmured, his eyes widening at awe at how smart Eclipse was. “That’d be great! Let’s go talk to her!” He changed directions and started for the door.

Eclipse quickly caught the back of his master’s shirt, bringing the blond demon to an abrupt halt. “Where, exactly, do you think you’re going, Lord Raenef?”

Eclipse’s head dropped sharply and he tried not to let his bemusement show on his face. “I meant you should send a message to her, Lord Raenef. Not leave immediately to visit her. It is over a day’s travel to where she is staying.”

”But… how would we get a message to her?” Raenef asked, pouting at Eclipse. He’d been looking forward to seeing the redhead again.

”It’s a relatively simple spell,” Eclipse answered, starting for the library. “I will show you scroll and how to use the spell. With it, you can contact any demon lord, unless said lord does not wish to speak to you. In such a case, if your strength is greater than his, you could still force a connection. It is not recommended, however.”

"I was concerned for your safety," Eclipse answered. "So long as a demon does not know this spell, they are not susceptible to being forced into a link. You were not strong nor skilled enough to keep another demon out of your mind until recently. Also, I did not think you had the patience to learn it."

Eclipse hesitated before answering. "It means that I would rather have a way of staying in contact with you, in case you do something foolish."

Raenef barely heard him as they reached the library. He happily started poking around while Eclipse started looking for the spells needed.
