There are other roles aboard a ship you know...
Like, you could be the galley bartender

More RPers... more BIOs, Cale's character or characters. He bounced a couple good ones off me earlier today. Nelo's bio.
Maybe a general plot outline. I already told Ek, but Chapter 1: is going to be entitled 16 minutes. There's a tracking device somewhere aboard that informs the local garrison of the ship's position, heading, and speed once it drops out of hyperspace. It takes the imps around 16 minutes to get a force to where we are at and engage us. We jump and the whole thing repeats until we find and disable the device. The device was placed by a mole, you'll have to find him eventually and it'll be pretty tough to figure out who he is.

What about a privateer who joins the fleet? Besides that, I'm honestly thinking about EKs suggestion.

How bout a smuggler that was in the brig when the ship went rogue and the captain needs his services to contact people capable of supplying the ship's needs.
Or a pilot, we seriously need more combat pilots the way I'm building this RP. Expect lots of ship to ship combat and dogfight action, especially early on.

The smuggler/outlaw idea could work, but how about this first: An imperial privateer with a gunship or small cruiser who either helped out the fleet or was assigned to help them in missions, perhaps the same that caused the problem, and decided to go rogue with them.

That probably won't work. I want as many of the characters as possible on the ISD. The Corellian Corvettes attached to the squadron that went rogue are actually transports, not combat ships and the Carrack Cruiser? I'm going to blow it up in the first chapter.

Smuggler-turned-supplier sounds fun

It did tickle my fancy EK, but I really kinda want to try this privateer thing, but since he wants everyone on the ship, I'm mess with that a bit.
So, a prisoner turned contact, eh? What time-frame is that Stellar?

EK is right its 1 ABY. At the very least we'll need someone that can contact some of the big smuggling rings because the maintenance demands of an ISD are absurdly high after all. We'll need KDY turbolaser lenses, tibanna gas, reactor fuels, munitions, capital ship scale proton torpedoes, and the list goes on and on...

Well, I'm definitely gonna go in the outlaw direction for now so you'll have a contact of some sort. Maybe I'll even make a young ensign too and see how that plays, dunno though.

You know more about military stuff than you realize des. You were trying to sign your characters onto my weaponsmithing plant, afterall.

If you're gonna be an outlaw Des, I def suggest you having another char on the ship, who you can play in the meantime. An ensign would be good.. or some other low-priority, low-responsibility worker.

Honestly, I'd like being bartender, I'd studying it off and on in real life and gonna get my profession license. Be interesting, PGGB anyone?
Maybe an Ensign and Bartender. But I'd figure my outlaw would be in the brig from go on the rp. So three characters? Maybe just the bartender and the Outlaw...I dunno. I counted on two characters, but I'd like to try my hand at something military, so I figure a young, dizzy ensign, maybe i can handle three. The Bartender would be the easiest.
And what do you mean I know more about the military than I think? I'm not following Nelo.
