Mika Lockheart I'm sure the same principal can apply in terms of the figure being a child or so forth. Just whatever the brain comes up with in that state of mind. The talking-that I can't explain except to offer the possibility that that part may have just been dreamed. But, then, its just a suggestion in general and I don't think I totally buy it myself. >.< I can tell you it didn't seem like a dream at all. I heard the words very clearly and saw the child also very clearly.

I just have a story to tell...
Last Tuesday, I went on a 'ghost hunt'' so to speak. I didn't experience much--we went to "Belchertown. Mass. The school for the feeble minded"
We went into the Theatre and the Infimary. At the theatre, after leaving--I felt like crying. At the Infirmary, I felt nothing...almost like a subtle sadness but besides that--I wasn't as connected.
When I got home, for the past few days I have been having very vivid dreams--in one dream, I died. But I got back up--and re-did the dream so to speak. @_@
it was crazy. So I just thought I'd share the story, feel free to post your thoughts about it. :]

When I was a kid something freaky occured in my room.
I used to have these 2 helicopters hanging from the ceiling, I rarely ever used them for no apparent reason...
Thing is one, I was playing with my ball in my room, and I accidentally hit the helicopters with it, they fell off and my mother came to hang them back up.
That same night, I started hearing loud barking noises comming from my closet, and just when I opened my eyes my mom was there in my room, holding a flashlight, she pointed at the warbrode's door and I could see the shadow of something ressembling a helicopter, and it was barking (I pretended I was asleep because I was too afraid to talk), a couple second passed and the flashlight fell off my mom's hand, and when that happened the barking stopped. I don't remember anything after that, but I woke up in my parents' room.
Me? I say I had a bad dream and asked my dad to let me sleep him and mom that night. But if it was a dream, it was the most lucid dream I've ever had, and I gotta say, it made a lot of sense compared to dreams I ususally have.
Any ideas?

Ice -- Could be an after effect of being in a haunted location. As an empath I sometimes find my mind wanders back to those places after I've been there. I get very effected by some of the emotions i sense when I do ghost hunt. Wait a few days and see if it passes maybe? Its possible a spirit attached itself to you but it doesn't come across to me as malicious-you could just very politely ask the spirit to leave if the feelings don't go away. Maybe something along the lines of "I appreciate you feel close to me, but you can't stay here. please go in peace."
Just my thoughts.
Erik -- It could be a nightmare. But..wow for it being kind of weird and vivid sounding!

Hm So I guess I'll help nudge some activity here and see what happens. Has anyone else had any paranormal experiences of any kind?
I always wonder because it's something I'm very interested in. I used to do EVP readings in a graveyard not far from where I live. got some creepy stuff on it too. Has anyone else tried to do that?

I have, most of it happened after/during renovations which doesn't surprise me but it died down. But let me think we've been in this house almost two years and I've seen a shadow figure at the foot of my bed, heard a disembodied voice ( in my room) and just some shadows out of the corner of my eye after we put the new roof on. Me and my mom seem to be the only two people who have experiences she had one abut I've had quite a few. Strange before i had even seen this house i said there was a particular room i wanted, a room that had the sunniest window (to grow flowers) and i got the room that according to my mom "feels different" but thankfully it's in a good way

Beautiful Propaganda Are spirits with um, not nice intent more active during the summer? Or do people just notice them better? No, they're not. Often heat and climate/temp can cause you to knowtice it more because it messes with sertan aspects of your brain. The heat (even if your in a air condisioned house) can also cause nightmares and night-tarors ->(when you wake up in the midle of the night with the feeling that some one/some thing is watching you, and/or the feeling of inpending doom, and the enablity to move or speak.<- Its compleatly normal) If its not just your brain tricking you, that particular spirit/what have you may be more active during that time. Maybe you can figure out why. If they are frightening you ask them to stop, or tell them to stop/leave while doing a smuging(or what ever method you chose)

I love almost all the spirits I've come in contact with. When I was a baby my mom moved back in with her parents so they could help take care of me. My hole life I've had cronick nightmares, when I was a baby I'd wake up not crying but litteraly screaming. After moving in with my grandparents my mom realized that I'd wake up, scream slightly then just softly cry and go back to sleep, as if conforted by someone with out her having to even move. After we moved out I'd spend every week end over there, I never wanted my bed room door shut when I was there even though at my house the door was all ways closed. When I was about four my grandma asked me why I said, "that way Nanna can check on me" then to my grandma's asonishment I told her that Nanna was a nice old laddy who told me my dreams whern't real, and walked me to the bath room to get water when I was to scared to. Funny thing is that she didn't know if it was really an old woman or a 'imaginary friend' so she told my mom who beleived it a emeditaly. And when I was six-ish my father came over to my grandma's to see me, and after only being in the house a few mintes he turns to me and says 'you do know that theres an old lady in the corner whos angery at me, right?' My grandma laughted, and explaned to him what had been going on. I was just glad he could see her too.Now that I am older I have a wonderful relationship with this woman who only wishes to be called Nanna. (and she no longer hates my dad, lol.)

I always wonder because it's something I'm very interested in. I used to do EVP readings in a graveyard not far from where I live. got some creepy stuff on it too. Has anyone else tried to do that? I was playing my Xbox (Original) in my room on the 3rd floor of my house that I lived in two years ago (Pennsylvannia), Since the Cicuits in my room were easily broken I wasn't using my A/C, it was hot as hell, right after I turned my Xbox off after 1/2 an hour of playing glanced to my right, and saw a figure of a young man, most likely in his 20's, and he had a blue mist surrounding him w/ something that looked like a bunch of snakes/sepents swarming behind him. I had another encounter with this same man on the first floor, except this time, I had full color of him. I went downstairs around 1-ish to get on the computor (I had gotten bored), I saw him in full color on my computor, moving the mouse, I ran outside, caught my breath, and came back inside, looked at my computor chair, and I saw a bug, a mix between a grasshopper and a locust, the color of an ordinary house moth and the size, but the features and texture of both a cricket and a grasshopper. This next encounter wasn't as vivid. I was in my 2010 house, with my friend spending the night, I went to get myself a Soda (Or pop, whichever you prefer) and saw an entity with Claws, and the rest of him was humanlike feature,except the color, he was colored like camo except sharper, it was a mix of red a pitch black. He was walking along my pool to the behind of the garage, I ignored it and went into the garage. Other than those three encounter I'll feel and sense ghosts/spirits when I'm alone, occasionally I'll feel my deceased Lizard on my right shoulder (His favorite spot.) Nope, never tryed an EVP , somewhat new to this stuff-s.

Wow so lots of people having experiences here! I'm glad to hear all these different stories. So how do you guys all deal with knowing there's other spirits out there causing paranormal activity? Does it disturb you? Or does it comfort you? Has it changed your perception on what happens to life after death? how do you deal with these occurrences when they happen?
Just curious.

I dream about them. Does it disturb and/or comfort I? Not at all, somewhat frightening. It hasn't changed my perception at all, I have always thought that if a soul fragment was left in the physical field they would stay; also thought if they had regrets, died viciously and/or young they would stay too. Yourself?

I personally think the people who've remained in this world stay in this world because they haven't been able to move on. I think they need help and when I do see them I try my best to encourage them to move on. There's no need to stay here unless they're here to look after someone. Some spirits stay behind simply because they want to watch over family and so forth or maybe they've come back for a specific purpose. My grandfather killed himself when I was 13 but he'd always promised to be at my first performce. 4 months after his death I was performing and I seen and heard him as I performed. I know he was there but I also know he isn't stuck. He just checks back sometimes.
it doesn't frighten me unless I sense I should be frightened. I'm an empath and I "see" moods in color and weight. I can sense heaviness around someone and darker colors when they've got the weight of the world on their shoulders and they're upset. I get the same sense and feeling from spirits.
I think death will always be a mystery. I think there's something at the end of the tunnel and I think there lays a choice in reincarnation, that destination at the end (which may just be reincarnation) or staying behind for whatever reason. It hasn't changed my perceptions at all.
I think that was all the questions! Sorry about the delay there.

I don't really need help, I just have a question or two.
My sister is the more grounded and skeptical of the two of us, though both our beliefs run mostly parallel. She was taking care of a family friend's animals one night just after dark. She walked to the end of the horse's pasture to check if the water was still running (it shouldn't have been, but she'd been hearing some odd sounds from the general area). When she didn't find anything amiss, she turned to walk back to the barn and the house. She made it a couple steps and felt a presence behind her and then something simply said "hey" in her ear. She turned and saw a solid black figure about 5'6" no more than four feet away from her. She stresses that the eyes, though deep red, weren't glowing. It was just like someone with those red contacts was standing there, silhouetted. She didn't get any negative vibes from it, and the dog didn't react to the being at all. My sister says she leaped a good distance backward and crabwalked a few feet before booking it to the barn (in high-heeled boots across really uneven ground. She has skillz...) She crammed herself through a foot-wide gap in the barn door, and kinda sat there freaked for a while. She went back out and looked, but didn't see it again. She even checked to see if it had been car taillights or something that had tricked her mind. Nothing.
My family figures it was probably just something passing through and possibly wanting to ask her a few questions, but didn't quite get the reaction it was looking for. Or did, one or the other. But we've never told the friend about this encounter, because the family is very Christian and we're not sure how they'd react to the idea of something in their back pasture.
So I just wanted to ask the opinions of those here...
~~~
I've also had experiences, but the one that gets me is the one time I was talking to a friend on the internet around 2 a.m. It was summertime, but my room was fairly cold (being the one furthest away from the heat circulation, having the smallest south-facing window, and an uninsulated wall pointing North, North-west...). I wasn't listening to music, and every one else's CD players had stopped for the night (I checked later), and I heard a voice right over my left shoulder say my name. It was kinda whispery, but very distinct. Thinking it was my sister, I turned, but she wasn't there... So, on a whim, I stuck my arm out. In the doorway to my room (right next to my computer desk), there was a sphere of really warm air about two feet in diameter. It stayed there for a good five minutes until it moved off down the hall and disappeared.
I wasn't quite sure what that was all about, but it never came back that I know of. 0_o
And then there's the phantom violin music I hear occasionally. I can only ever hear it when I'm lying in bed. I'm wide awake, because I stay up and read, and I hear easy, quiet violin music, like a whole room full of skilled players. I get up and check my mom's CD player (down the hall and around a corner and turned so quiet I can barely hear it and I'm standing next to it... Plus it's piano music next to the ocean waves, or something. Mom's not into violin music), my sister's CD player (down the hall and around a different corner, and playing rock and roll music), and then go back to bed. I still hear it. I check my CD player. Off. My stereo at the foot of my bed... Unplugged...
So that one I really can't explain, unless it has something to do with the house (it's a '79 and we've only had it for about 6 years...).
And the other half the house is a '78 and we've had it for 20 years... Not sure of its past either, but all of us have seen and felt people coming down the hallway, but never actually catch a person full on. It's weird.
Hell -
The first part with the warm ball is fascinating. It didn't seem harmful, by the way you described it and it left you alone afterwards. I wouldn't worry about it too much since it hasn't come back. I am not sure what it is, but I think you would be in the best position to find out, since you know exactly what happened. It sounds like a cool experience though. Have you talked to anyone else in the house about it?
The music sounds lovely. It must drive you mad not knowing where it comes from, but a string quartet playing in the background at night would be really enjoyable, just to listen to. I'm sorry that I don't really have any idea what's causing it though. Goodluck with those spirits/encounters.
My reason for popping in was just to share some of my encounters. When I was little (about three years old), my mum recieved a wooden train set and she gave it to me. I seemed fine until bath time. When mum left me to do my thing, I started screaming. When she came back I told her the little boy wanted me to put more water in the bath and tried to push me under. It had freaked me out, and it took mum a while to get rid oof him until she got everyone in the house to ask him to leave. She recons he wanted a playmate.
The latest ghostly activity would have to be my Grandma. She passed away on the 30th of June this year, which I happened to witness, and that night I had a terrible nightmare. Since then, my grandma has visited my in my dreams, giving me hugs, smiling, and maybe telling me a few things, such as I should cook (I think she was telling me to cook for the family since we all colapsed a bit after she died). In one of those dreams, I actually revisited a dream I used to have when I was younger (About grade Four and Five). In this dream, there were "Hologram Decorations" for Halloween that dad had set up. One had a woman that fell off a rock in our back yard. She was stuck on repeat. Another had a sullen old man that stared at you in the face before shuffling off. Lastly, there was a younger man, named victor who introduced himself to me and took me to the side of the house before sitting cross-legged. I apoligised to him that I hadn't visited him in ages and he simply waved it off and told me it didn't matter because I was here now. I remember he wore green and orange, and looked positively happy. When I woke up I remember he told me something of 1971.
I just wanted to see what people thought of these things, and if anything similar has happened to anyone else.
