"You wear it." Kratos recognized optimism where he saw it, and a magnetic personality. He'd little doubt she could inspire others, to lead, and he respected that. "You know... I never really thought about it. They grow like we do. They're born and they die." Moving to the side of the path, he looked down at a little seedling. "I guess it would make sense if they could feel, too..."

"Huh," Nalani replied thoughtfully, looking around at the plant life that surrounded them. "Hm, that's kind of sad for the plants then. They can't even run away or anything." Still, they needed to eat to survive, so it wasn't as if there was even a choice in the matter. "Well, I guess there's a reason for that. Let's just hope on the side that they can't feel." The mare stepped over to the side of Kratos, looking down at the seedling with him. "So.... You're it!" She nudged him lightly with her muzzle before springing off through the forest.

"Yeah, there's no telling, and- hey!" Kratos balked at the fast disappearing tail, then seemed to remember himself. Bouding after her, he scanned through the trees, searching for flashes of white or navy. Ah! He reared back, then bolted, gracefully avoiding the trees despite his larger size. He was almost on her flank. "Gonna get you if you can't go any faster," he laughed.

Nalani 'eep'ed and sped up as she noticed him on her tail, laughing merrily as she did so. "You're going to have to try harder than that~!" she said teasingly, leaping around trees and over bushes as easily as if they weren't even there. Not very long into this show of agility however a hoof got snagged onto a vine and the mare took quite a tumble, ending up crashing into a tree. "Itai~!" she said under her breath, gingerly rubbing her face with a foreleg. Hopefully that wouldn't leave a mark...

"Hey!" The stallion barked as she took a tumble. He closed the distance quickly. "Nalani!" He slowed as he came to her side and ducked his head, nuzzling her gently. "You alright?" Righting himself, he looked her over carefully for sign of injury. She'd hurt her nose? He tried to bite back a small smile. That was actually sort of adorable. Err... minus the face plant, at least.

"Yeah, I'm alright," she replied, still rubbing her face tenderly. "Just a little dizzy is all. I usually end up falling at some point in the day or another." The mare hadn't been just joking earlier when she spoke of possibly tripping into the stream. Blinking a few times first, she looked back up at the white and red stallion with a smile. "Well, that was certainly fun. ^_^ I don't think you would have caught me had I not tripped. wink "

Kratos chuckled softly. "No, perhaps not. It's been a long time since I've played tag with anyone." Or had anyone to play tag with, but he kept the last bit to himself. "Do you need help? But you're dizzy, maybe you should stay down. Uh, you know, rest until it passes." He settled down at her side.

"Ah, no, I'm fine real- Well, um, thanks," she finished somewhat awkwardly as the winged male settled down beside her. For some reason Nalani felt her face going a bit hot, but she didn't quite understand it. Why did she feel... different, all of the sudden? "So... Do you trip much?" she asked with a small smile. Perhaps she wasn't the only klutzy one around.

With a sheepish grin, the stallion glanced off. "Only when I'm trying expressly not to. Then I fall over my hooves in what I'm certain is an absolutely stunning display of grace. Or a lack thereof. Are you sure you're alright?" More than injured pride, he was afraid she might have been injured. Face first into a tree. It could have been so much worse than it was, and so much worse than she made it out to be.

Nalani couldn't help but giggle a little bit at his description of falling. it made for a humorous mental image. When he asked again if she was alright though she just smiled and nodded. "Mhm. It takes more than a face plant into a tree to take me down. See?" she remarked, standing back up and shaking out her mane a bit. "I suppose it's a good thing I was born hard-headed, ne?" Her head actually was a bit sore, but she never let such trivial things stop her in the past, and she certainly wasn't about to now.

Kratos laughed softly and shook his head as he watched her move solidly to her feet. Was that a hint of a wobble he saw, or was he imagining it? With a huff, he pushed himself to his feet, then grinned lightly. Ducking his head, he glanced to the trees ahead, a sweet scent catching his nose. That could only mean one thing. Delight welled in his chest. He might not be able to take her with him, but he could at least offer her that. "You smell that...?"

"Hm?" The navy mare closed her eyes and sniffed lightly at the air. She smiled and opened her eyes again. "Mm, something sweet. I can't quite place what it is though. Why do you ask?" Nalani tried to follow his gaze, but didn't immediately spot whatever the source of the scent was.

The stallion merely shook his head with another soft chuckle, then set off through the trees toward the source of the scent. He inhaled deeply, breathing in the scent that became headier as they approached. Honeysuckles, he'd heard them called? But even more than that were the pretties they attracted. Pausing after a few yards, he glanced back at his companion. "You coming?"

"Of course!" she replied, trotting after him. As she neared where he was, Nalani was able to spot where the scent was coming from. "Ooo, those look good." Flowers were usually a nice treat for snacking. Bumping against him lightly, she grinned and said, "You have a good nose. I probably would have passed these without even noticing."

"Oh, that's not the best part." Kratos strode past her, unfolding his wings. He stretched them out in the still air as he approached the bushes. Rearing back on his hind legs, he beat the air once as he came down hard. The rush flattened the grass and sent dandelion fuzz flying. And yet amidst the cloud, some of the bits seemed to zigzag back and forth or hover rather than float lazily down like the others. "Look." Grinning, he pointed his muzzle toward the shade of the overhead canopy. Tiny fireflies blinked in and out of existance in the shadows. "Easier to see at night. Ah, you've probably seen them before." But he had driven up hundreds of the little bugs, filling the forest around them with a plethora of the winking lights.
