The corners of Kara's mouth twitched. "Hmmm... Nope, I don't think so. Not right now, at any rate. Let's see what you can do with the communicator, and we'll go from there. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket, after all; criminal mastermind or not, Superman always beat you. Not exactly an impressive track record, is it?" She floated toward the hole in the wall she'd made earlier. "I'll be in touch. Oh, and tell Mercy that I am sorry about her flamethrower. Really. It looked expensive."

Kara paused and turned back. "I could give you information, I suppose," she said offhandedly, "Anything in particular that you'd like to know?"

Instantly, her eyebrows came down. "Let's get one thing straight, Lex," she snapped, "You don't know a thing about what I want. What I want is to be left alone so that I can do my job. The only reason that you're not a pile of ash right now is because you're the one person that can pull Superman's attention away from me. That's it. Get it? Got it? Good."

Luthor had to stifle a laugh. "Your job? You think that the League will still allow you to keep doing your 'job'? If I win, then there's no issue. If I lose, you're in for a world of trouble. Like I said, they know your weaknesses. They know what makes you tick. I didn't have to exagerrate that. As you no doubt already know, they'll be more than willing to use that against you. There's only one way to ensure that that does not happen. After that, I'll be MORE than happy to oblige you in your request to stay out of your hair. Superman is the Kryptonian I want, not you. All I'll ask in return at that time is that you allow me the same courtesy."

'Hmmm... This is going to be interesting...' Lex thought to himself as he landed in his office. He took off his battlesuit, placing it back in its hole. He needed a plan, a REAL plan, to convince Supergirl of joining him.

Lex weighed his options. He could choose heroes, villains, or a combination of the two. The people who were members of his old Six were out of the question; they'd know that his threats were bluffs. Supergirl was also out of the question; after all, she was the person he was trying to prove himself to. That though struck him as odd. 'Proving himself to Supergirl'. It seemed blasphemous, but it was true. A much more complete victory could be found by having her on his side, and to get that, he needed to prove that he had a real chance of victory. He'd have to suck up his pride for this one. He'd also need to think of ways to cover for her, in case she was ever suspected of helping him. He would need plausable explanations for getting what he had, which was only the communicator, for the moment. That one was easy enough. He could simply say that he took it from her while the green K in his battlesuit was slowly working its sinister magic on her, taking off and leaving her once he had gotten what he had wanted. It was believeable, and was something that would no doubt anger the Big Blue Boy Scout. That particular thought made Lex smile. Anyways, back to his selections; he could think of more covers for Supergirl's aid as he got more. Despite mot being able to choose Supergirl, Catman, Scandal, Ragdoll, Deadshot, or Cheshire, he still had an impressive selection from his own Universe, plus all the other Universes. He'd want a representative from every one of them, as it would give the group the advantage of always knowing who they were going up against. He'd also want people who were willing to do things that were completely and totally evil. That ruled out most of the heroes that he knew of. He could think of a good choice off the top of his head from his own Universe. The problem was convincing him to join. Threats wouldn't cut it; the man wasn't attatched to anything enough for him to save them. Plus, he was just too insane. On top of it, this person did NOT take well to authority. At all. Well, he could simply say that their goals were the same, and all he was going to do was show them how to best do it, and throw in the fact that he'd get a shot at beating Batman if he joined. That sounded like a good bribe for the Joker. Now to find him...

"Ah, Slade, how good of you to come. It's nice to see a familiar face, well, one that won't immediately try to destroy everything around me." Lex turned to face Deathstroke. "And yes, but not in a method you'd expect. Looking for work, or simply dropping by to say hi?"
