Exactly, running backs are not made like they use to be.

Look at DeAngelo Williams, Brandon Jacobs, and Michael Turner. They push it even if they are hurting and/or tired.

exactly that's what running backs should do, no holding back (unless you already clinched playoffs and it's the last game, ease up but still try hard).

Then tell me exactly why LT and Westbrook are not two of the best? They play when their bodies are tell them to literally just lay down and die. Would love to see the RB who played with not only a partially torn facia on their hamstring along with bonespur in their ankle and a partially seperated knee or the other guy who played with a seperated groin, hyperextended knee AND a sprained ankle.

Sorry, but just those injuries from last year to Westbrook and LT should tell everyone NOT to judge them as brittle and want to go out because it hurts too much. That is served for the players who think they are big out of college but then end up pushing burgers 3 years later.

They are not two of the best because their not as big as everybody just because you have heart doesn't mean your good you still got to be physically gifted to be a dominate force in the league, and don't talk about LT as if he was good last year, with out Micheal Turner to back him up he had a tough time lucky for him Sproles (spell check) stepped up

WOW. No offense man, but you are dense. Just because Turner had a great year last year and LT and Westbrook did not, does not make them not good.

LT owns MANY NFL records. What does Turner have? Westbrook has a few along with doing something that NO OTHER RB IN THE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE HAS EVER DONE. Only RB to have 4000+yds rushing and 3000+yds recieving in a 4 year span. Oh, and is second in the league for yds from scrimmage out of everyone in the league over the past few years. Also, just because you big does not make you good as well. Look at Brandon Jacobs. He is good, but not great. Injury issues. Butyou would think he is the next best thing. Turner is not really that big. About the same size as LT. But of course for him not being able to beat out LT on the depth chart, he is much better than both him and Westbrook. I can give you a couple dozen reasons why LT and Westbrook are the best in the league at their position and as well as why Peterson is the best rusher in the league. Those are the three best right now and just watch this year. LT and Westbrook are both healthy. And watch out specifically for Westbrook. He finally has a line that could run block AND a FB who has a real history of opening holes for the runner. Something that Westbrook has not had really in his career.

Also forgot to mention something else. You said Westbrook and LT were never dominant in the league? Then tell me why is it that when asked, ALL the defensive coaches as well as head coaches always said they gameplanned for both Westbrook and LT. I would love to know why that is. Also, name 2 other RB's (besides Peterson) who have been as effective for their teams as LT and Westbrook.

And once again, last year, you 100% fail to recognize two important aspects. Turner finally had a starting role along with the carries plus he was healthy. LT was injured all season. But I guess you dont want to give the props where they are due.

Oh, and how any wins did Turner and the Falcons get in the Playoffs?

First Turner sucks on the road (mostly O-line's fault, but still some his)
second good is judged as currently as in they were good or their good now.
third i have nothing against Westbrook he is really tough for his size, but then it comes back to size, if LT grew 3-5 inches and gained 15-25 pounds he would be one of the best ever.

Winning on the Road is not really that hard to do. Philly, Giants, Pitt and a few others religiously do it year in and year out. But when they do not, it usually ends up being and entire unit who does the undoing. Not one player. That was my whole point to you. You single out every player who you think is the only reason they will win. While that may be true at times where one player will be that effective, that only happens when the entire unit is grinding on all gears and they are just as effective as well.

When you judge a character as good, I can understand where you are coming from. But have you ever heard of an off year? LT and Westbrook both were far below their season avg from their entire Career. Even compared to their rookie seasons. That is an off year. If they do that two to three years in a row, then you can start doing that. Delhomme is still a great QB until he pulls another crapshoot this year like he did at the end of last. And I dont know about you (I did play football injured moretimes that not) but injuries take a crapload out of your step nomatter where they are located. Just remember that.

Size, Size, Size. Always comes down to what the media wants you to think about. Guess what, Size is never really a factor. Even last year when he was suffering, Westbrook barreled through the defensive line and stiff armed and bowled himself through several guys easily 6" (westbrook is really 5'8" and not the 5'10" he is listed, I know, saw him play in Villanova and looked at the programs when he was there) bigger than him and most likely 40lbs bigger. Strength is the key factor. LT is bigger than Westbrook. Yet the two are arguably the best all around RB's in the league for the better part of this decade.
So right now, please do not take any offense to it because there truly is non intended, but you are under the dillusion that in order for a RB to truly be great, they must be 6'2" and around 240lbs.
Emitt Smith - 5'9" 219lbs.
Jerome Bettis - 5'11" 255lbs
Walter Payton - 5'10" 200lbs
Barry Sanders - 5'8" 203lbs
Curtis Martin - 5'11" 210lbs

Now here is the kicker. They all are the top 5 RBs in the history of the League. The bigger guys are not. So how does that logic portray to you?

STEVE. SLATON.

just randomly going to say Steve Slaton?

It's my personal opinion that bigger stronger running backs are better than smaller guys that avoid hits (excluding Sanders, he is my favorite). I actually don't mind Westbrook cause he looks for a lot of hits, LT runs away to much for me to like him.

Well I think he did the best of all rookie running backs this year, had a 4.8 YPC average, and hes pretty awesome, no doubt

Ok, so you are saying you would want two or three 280+lbs guys to just jump on you? Man, you would have the shortest career in NFL history. 1 snap. LT runs away because he a)does not want to get hurt b)knows if he gets hurt he hurts the team and c)is more effective running away towards the endzone than right at the guy. That is why they are called Running Backs instead of Rams. They run back the ball to their goal instead of at the defensive player themselves.

Steve Slaton needs another couple of years to be anything special first. Sorry.

Deangelo Williams will be on that list in a year or two. Mark my words.
