"Oh, not yellow. What about green? Yellow reminds me of aging or a stain or something." As they reentered the house, Lorey had to get used to the idea of being home again. A few windows could be opened in the family room, and then they could go upstairs and see what rooms were there. Lorey knew how to be efficient in cleaning, so this wasn't an issue at all. It almost felt.. natural.

Richard nodded. "I like green...though...could we paint some yellow flowers maybe?" He asked, slightly embarassed at such a request. Richard had always been a fan of sunflowers.

"If you know how to paint yellow flowers, sure!" Up the stairs they went, revealing a bathroom, a bedroom, another room that was bare... What an adventure this was in their own house.
"I'll learn how to paint sunflowers while you're here working. I'm around them al the time, so it's bound to rub off on me."

Their was a third bedroom towards the back, next to the main bedroom, which Richard figured could suffice as a guest bedroom for when they had company. "Hm...I'll give a hand at it as well." He said with a nod as he looked around. The spare bedroom looked untouched, a simple queen sized bed with a lovely but country bedspread upon it, simple bedroom furniture, and a nice little window. It looked as if no one had stayed there for awhile. The smaller bedroom had two little twin beds, obviously belonging to two children. According to Vi's description, this was probably her and her brother's bedroom growing up... until he left at least. The biggest bedroom was her grandfathers at one point in time, but since had been moved around to suite Vi's taste. The bed hadn't been made since she left over a year ago, and there were a few older clothes of hers lying around, which she assured them they could store or get rid of. There were also a few dozen beer bottles lying around, giving away her past lifestyle. But over all it wasn't terribly messy. It looked like it should. A young single woman who was busy but a partier at the same time...

"We should recycle these," Lorey said to the bottles. "Make this bed..." With her trained cleaning girl hands, Lorey began pulling the bed spread away, moved the pillows, and began flipping and tucking sheets in here and there to make a hotel-like made bed. At least her life before had taught her something.

Richard nodded, attending to the bottles. "I'll take care of these..." he said as he scooped some up. Though he stumbled upon a photo under one exceedingly large pile of bottles. It was a photo of a young red head, Vi, judging by the eye colors, and a young cule looking rather angsty. In the background was a jolly older man with white hair and a curly mustache. "This must have been her brother and grandfather... They lived with him you know...since their parents left them..." He frowned at the picture. "Then her adoptive brother took off when he was a teen, because he was just hormonal and wanted adventure according to her...soon after her grandfather died... no wonder she drank so much..." He shook his head, placing the picture on the shelf. He had seen a similar photo amongst Vi's belongings when they first met.

"She's such an amazing person to give us all of this, though. I can't even think of a way to make this up to her. Do you, Richard?" Lorey came over to examine the photo. She never trusted Cules, and was actually afraid of most of them for being so tall and wild-looking. Lorey was afraid of what she didn't understand.

Richard shrugged a little. "I told her I'd hold onto her grandfathers belongings and we'd always have a place for her to come and stay if she needed it." Richard said with a slight nod. He didn't know why, but since meeting Vi, he had felt protective of her, as if she were a daughter, or a younger sister. That would still hold, and he would always have the door open for her.

The dust the were kicking up was starting to make her eyes itch like it always did. Lorey knew she had allergies, and that coupled with the fresh, wonderful air of Druis was making her feel sedate. Actually, now that she thought about it, she was downright tired.
"What would you say to a nap, and then we find a food place around here?" she asked, bonking her head against his arm. "Or I'll nap and you find food, or I can find food and you nap..."

Richard smiled. "You rest...I need to check on Enty anyways... I'll pick up some lunch for us and bring it back here alright? Then I'll bring the rest of our luggage in as well." He smiled with a nod.

Lorey crashed onto the slightly musty comforters. Those would be washed... along with all the other bedding. Was there a working washing machine? Was the water still hooked up?
"Make sure you lock me in," she said as her eyes closed. "Wouldn't want to be carried off by some strange Druid man, now would I?"

Richard stiffened slightly. "No I suppose not... I'll make sure to lock you in. Oh, and I'm having Enty go check on seeing if the utilities can me turned on or not..." He added, flipping a light switch which had no effect.
"I'll be back soon..." He kissed her lips gently, turning to head back down the stairs.

Lorey slept for about half an hour before she awoke again to the strange house. Noises she heard, like creaking in the walls and the groaning of pipes, made her uneasy. Richard would be home soon, she told herself. She hadn't been asleep for that long, after all.
Lorey got out of the musty bed and wondered if there was a washing machine. The sheets would have to be cleaned. Detergent would have to be bought if nothing had been left over. Ah goodness, Lorey thought with a sigh. So much to do in their new home.
As she headed downstairs, her eyes spied a wall unit just outside of what looked like a cellar door. While she wasn't about to go in the cellar alone, Lorey thought she might try her hand at this little gadget.
Upon closer inspection, it had subtle blinking lights. A power reserve of some kind, she thought. Her finger pressed against the touch screen once, twice, until it suddenly came to life. A robotic voice asked her, "Command?"
"Uh... Household power?" A selection grid came up. She could either shut don all power completely, or start the house again on direct power source. There must have been solar panels or something keeping the subtle battery on this system going, Lorey thought. "Return power to main grid system."
"Main grid system with Technical Power Trust or Natural Energy Reserves?" The screen split into a logo of what looked to be a power company, or a diagram of sun panels on a mini model of their own home. Lorey wasn't sure if they could start paying electric bills if they'd no idea about the community, so she commanded all energy to come from the solar panels installed upon the roof. It might not have been much, but soon the entire house was dimly lit. Lorey gasped, marveling at the electricity from the system. She had done it!
With the sunny day outside, things grew a bit brighter, and Lorey searched for the laundry room so they could get a few things done.

Richard had brought the speeder around front, the packages of food in the passenger seat. He had gotten to see Enty, telling him of Lorey's reaction and delight, as well as working out some details about their new home. He had spoken to the young man who Vi had left in charge of her grandfathers home, explaining the situation and agreeing to meet up with him later to sign off on the home.
Gathering the bags of food he had picked up from a local diner, Richard made it up the little stone walkway, and back up to the front door, banging his foot against it. "Lorey, It's me! My hands are a little full, can you let me in?!" He called through the thick wood door.

Lorey danced to the front door in an apron she'd found hanging in the laundry room. Inside, the lights were on, the washing machine was running (thanks to some powdered detergent she found), and she had a bucket of soapy water ready for cleaning windows.
"Welcome home!" she said, as happily as seemed possible as she stepped aside to let Richard in to the working house.
