Shen butts out the smoke and allows himself to fall asleep mostly from thinking. and he did fall asleep.

sonya wakes up at dawn and was mixing a martini on the bar in another room singing a song strenching messy hair and evertything form bed

Shen opens his eyes and notices where he is and lights another smoke "i did not think i was actually here" he said getting up slowly rubbing his head, 'i got a big damn headache' he thought and sat there for a few moments.

sonya hands him a mirtini and some pills "yep im not really here only a figment of ur imagion... in fact in a minute ull be in the forest sleeping on a branch" she walks away mixing another drink for herself oblivious to the dont drink and take pills rule of life
